Welcome...

to the nuclear family, Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

I guess "someone" has been sleeping on their watch again.

"He's remarkably optimistic," a Bush insider said. "Like Ronald Reagan, he has a gift for looking beyond the morass in front of him and sticking to his goals, even if it's not popular."

Then why is he so angry?

Good Morning Justice Bloggers & Fitzie...

ABB has also been called the European Enron because of its fraudulent accounting practices...no surprise that Rumsfeld was on their board when they were selling nuclear technology to North Korea...pure greed and evil.

Well, I think it's time to start a Hastert Resigning Pool here...

I'm taking Friday, October 13, to be announced in the afternoon...

Good Morning All,

Friday the 13th- heehee maybe, CC!

Have any of you bloggers done the mobile blogging? Just wondering how well it works...or doesn't

I wonder what Ralston will have to say...didn't some paper report that she quit before-last winter-maybe Rove said "now is not a good time?"

Holding my breath to hear Dubya's latest rant about Korea. He should have been in talks-at least 6 way- with them all along.

More good news for Dems:

Democrat Jack Davis has opened a significant lead over Republican incumbent Thomas M. Reynolds in a congressional contest fueled by Reynolds' association with the Mark Foley sex scandal.
Davis leads Reynolds 48 percent to 33 percent in a new Zogby International poll conducted for The Buffalo News, prompting pollster John Zogby to conclude that Davis poses a genuine threat to the longtime powerhouse from Clarence.

"There is no other way to look at these numbers except to say Tom Reynolds is in trouble," the Utica-based Zogby said.

Yes, E from our prior comments-I know people who divorced and other family that no longer gets together cause of W's policies. I can't say I'm comfortable in a room full of warmongers-knowing they are more than willing to sacrifice my young relative-just to save face on the issue...they don't ask me any questions either, heehee-cause I'll answer them;-)

Interesting that I've known plenty of inmates that don't think the violence in Iraq is a solution-weird so many suburbanites think it is!

Fitz that CIA book is a good site-I looked at Iraq on there before the war-funny, it didn't add up to what Dubya was saying either.

The Rev. John Paul Hankins, 73, was forced to retire from the pulpit of his Stony Brook, N.Y., church. He alleges age discrimination in a lawsuit, but judges will almost never agree to hear such complaints by clergy members against a religious employer.
His client was a middle-aged novice training to become a nun in a Roman Catholic religious order in Toledo. She said she had been dismissed by the order after she became seriously ill — including a diagnosis of breast cancer.

In her complaint, the novice, Mary Rosati, said she had visited her doctor with her immediate supervisor and the mother superior. After the doctor explained her treatment options for breast cancer, the complaint continued, the mother superior announced: “We will have to let her go. I don’t think we can take care of her.”

"Some of his anger is directed at former aides who helped Watergate journalist Bob Woodward paint a lurid portrait of a dysfunctional, chaotic administration in his new book, "State of Denial."

In the obsessively private Bush clan, talking out of school is the ultimate act of disloyalty, and Bush feels betrayed from within.

"He's ticked off big-time," said a well-informed source, "even if what they said was the truth."

This guy, Bill Mahar, rumored to be in good with Coulter has some strange views about Foley, sex and kids. "Because the Republicans don't accept gays, then Foley had to sneak around hitting on younger guys, and those kids weren't innocent either." What a crock.

Foley groomed those kids and played the legal game...Foley probably knows a helluva lot that he is not saying working with Missing Childrens' Network. If Foley didn't think what he was wrong he would not have bribed people with campaign funds, resigned and kept his mouth shut or made excuses.

Hi E
Now North Korea has been saying for a long time they have nukes no one would listen. The White House invaded Iraq based on lies about nukes. Iran said they weren't building nukes the US wants to invade them. Still North Korea said but we have them. While the White House was busy trying to get stolen oil for big business and robbing the US Treasury for war profiteers yes North Korea has nukes. North Korea had no oil but the US just kept threatening them with attacks. What is a country to do when the US says they will use nukes on your country how does one protect itself. North Korea sees the weakness and melt down of the GOP power house and yes smart more the strike. The White House has lied to Americans and the world now who will come to their help. The White House supplied Israel bombs against Lebanon and helped keep the fight going. The torture and secret jails. The sex abuse of American boys by Foley. So many crimes and lies have caught up with this group. What country wouldn't protect itself by Satan aka Devil aka George W. Bush he's a mad man and could attack any country at any time without a reason just lies.

New York City has one remaining Republican Congressman. His name is Vito Fossella. He says he's an "independant fighting for us" which in Goperspeak means he's a rubber stamp for Bush. I went to his website and he conveniently fails tov even mention that he's a Republican.

Fossella is being challenged by Steve Harrison, an underfunded underdog that many folks think has no chance against the Fossella money machine. Staten Island/Bay Ridge is percieved to be a Goper stronghold when in fact the district is registered 3:2 Democrat, and it seems to me that the only thing keeping Fossella afloat is the name recognition that comes with huge amounts of Goperbucks (tm).

Steve Harrison has alot going in his favor that could tip this seat to the blue column. First, Elliot Spitzer is at the top of the ticket and is expected to win big against a little known Goper opponent. Second, everyone in Staten Island who follows politics is talking about the Foley scandal, and Fossella has recieved money from Foley. Third, two years ago, without putting up much of a fight, the Democrat in the race for this seat, Frank Barbaro garnered 41% of the vote.

Bottom line: This district can be flipped. So if you live in NYC, or even if you don't, see if you can lend a hand. If we can just be a little creative, we can eliminate NYC's only Republican Congressman.

The Gerbil is in a pickle now. He wants to invade North Korea. With all the lies he's told to other world leaders looks like the US will go it alone. When he opens the draft watch all the Bush supporters bail out. I noticed how bloggers but wont join the military. Families who sons/daughters died yet they still believe Bush. Well with the draft all Americans will stand and stop the maddness. Notice none of the GOP have sent their children to join the military knowing it was a death sentence. It's happen in the 60's as people like Bush/Cheney/Rummy used everything and anybody to get out of going to war. People will support Bush as long as they're not sent to the death traps. North Korea has a military of 1 Billion soldiers and even our draft can't compete with that size. So yes it will be a death sentence and the bloggers who talk the talk for the GOP and Bush will bail on this one. The families who stand with the war profiteers will bail out too. Americans are good at talking just don't ask them to put their lives or their children's lives on the line for an idiot President. Yes we do have people that love America but the talkers out number the doers.

Capitol Hill Blue The Rant Doug

He laundered some of the money through his law firm but we learned long ago that Allen is not particularly smart and he left enough of a paper trail to nail his inappropriate, and illegal, influence peddling.

Then, to compound the matters, Allen tried to steer federal contracts to these companies after he became Senator and then failed to report his stock holdings in his financial disclosure forms as required by law. He now claims this was an oversight and that he didn't understand the law - a hilarious claim by a lawyer.

In Congress, we have stupid politicians and corrupt politicians. In George Allen, we get the best of both worlds - stupid and corrupt.

He claims he lost money on at least one of the stocks and uses that to suggest innocence. All it does prove is that he was too dumb to cash in once he sold his vote. Lord, if we're going to send crooks to the Senate, let's at least send competent ones.

When I ran the political programs division of the National Association of Realtors and oversaw the nation's largest political action committee (PAC), I always felt the need to delouse after any meeting with George Allen. In two previous contacts with him (1984 and 1991), I had heard him use racial slurs. I didn't like the man. In 1991, he was seeking support for his run for Congress and he made it clear that his vote was for sale.

"Support me and I'll support you," he said. "I remember my friends." But Allen came across as a phony - a Californian who pretended to be a Virginian, an urbanite who wore cowboy boots and chewed tobacco and a glad-hander who tried to be everything he wasn't.

I didn't trust him then and I don't trust him now. Stories have long circulated in Washington about Allen selling his votes and support. He's always lived high on the hog, much higher than the income he discloses on his financial forms supports. If he didn't report his stock options on those forms, who knows how much other under-the-table cash he has failed to disclose?

George Allen reminds me of a famous story about a dinner party in London where Winston Churchill conned George Bernard Shaw into the following exchange with his longtime nemesis Lady Astor:

SHAW: Lady Astor, would you spend the night with me for a million pounds?

ASTOR: Why, yes, Mr. Shaw, I suppose I would.

SHAW: How about five pounds?

ASTOR: Mr. Shaw, what you take me for?

SHAW: I've established that. What I am trying to establish now is the price.

We've long known George Allen is a political whore. What we don't know for sure is the price. But we should remember that, with any whore, that no matter what we pay the very best we will ever get is screwed

From WSJ:

Historican Robert Dallek details a telephone conversation between Rumsfeld and President Richard Nixon in March 1971. Nixon was offering career advice to the 39-year-old Rumsfeld, then head of the White House’s Office of Economic Opportunity:

“You should be thinking of what you should do in the future . . . Down the road, my view is that you would be a Cabinet officer. . . . [A]nd you can do, as far as I’m concerned, anything in the Cabinet field, except I wouldn’t put you in Defense and I wouldn’t put you in State . . . actually, you could be attorney general.”

Foley Scandal: Another Former Page Comes Forward -- From Iraq

According to Congressman Ron Lewis, the former page is now a soldier in Iraq. But five years ago, he was a teenage page in the U.S. House who was the subject of some kind of questionable contact from Congressman Mark Foley.

Lewis’s chief of staff got a satellite phone call from Iraq Tuesday afternoon from a man who wouldn't identify himself. But he did say he was a soldier from Kentucky’s Second Congressional District who wanted to give Lewis a heads up.
“To let us know that he had been approached by Mark Foley in 2001 and that he is speaking to the proper authorities, to a JAG officer who will then pass that on to the FBI,” says Lewis.
Congressman Lewis’s office is the only local one we've found that's gotten a call from any of their former pages, alleging misconduct by Foley, a man Lewis describes this way: “He was a creepy guy.”

New D.C. Sex Scandal Looming?
Feds target escort service in money launder, prostitution probe
OCTOBER 9--With the capital already mired in its latest sex scandal, federal agents last week raided the home of a woman they allege has, for the past 13 years, operated a Washington, D.C. escort service that dispatched college-educated prostitutes to the homes and hotel rooms of well-heeled clients. A two-year probe by Internal Revenue Service and Unites States Postal Inspection Service agents has targeted the Pamela Martin & Associates escort service and its owner, Deborah Jeane Palfrey (picture at right). In coordinated actions last week, agents searched the 50-year-old Palfrey's northern California home and froze nearly $500,000 in assorted bank and stock trading accounts. A copy of the seizure affidavit, sworn out by IRS Agent Troy Burrus and filed in U.S. District Court, can be found below. According to investigators, Palfrey charged clients about $300 per session and split the take with her stable of prostitutes, who were encouraged to "work at least three nights a week." Palfrey, who started Pamela Martin & Associates in 1993, was previously convicted of running a California prostitution business and served 18 months in prison. In a TSG interview Monday, Palfrey admitted operating an escort firm, but claimed that her workers did not engage in "illegal sexual activities." There are "a lot of erotic activities that one can do without participating in things that are illegal," she claimed. Investigators contend that after Palfrey hires a prostitute, she sends the woman to a "screening" appointment where she is required to have sex "without payment" so as to ensure that the prospective hooker is not a law enforcement officer. Palfrey, who spoke to TSG from Germany, said that agents raiding her home would have found nothing since she did not keep computerized records and regularly shredded documents. Asked about the nature of her clientele, Palfrey called the identity of her johns a "salacious detail" of which she was unaware. "I never kept records," she claimed. "I protected the client's confidentiality...they trusted me." But Palfrey did speculate that she may have come to the attention of federal agents because her operation had somehow intersected with a more high profile case, like that of convicted ex-congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham. Investigators are reportedly examining charges that a defense contractor provided hookers to Cunningham as part of an influence-peddling scheme. Palfrey did not claim a nexis between her escort service and Cunningham, but invoked the disgraced pol's name while saying that she would wager that the basis for the federal probe of her business "had solely to do with some Duke Cunningham-type bigwig client that got caught up in something and started to say, 'Do you know this?' and 'Do you know that?' And that he might have been able to lead them to somebody." Palfrey, who said she started her service in D.C. because "it's a very liberal, sophisticated, cosmopolitan area," advertised her company as featuring women "23 and older, with two or more years of college education, who either work and/or go to school in the daytime." Palfrey told TSG that she shuttered her escort business in mid-August because her female employees were "driving me crazy. They were a pain in the ass to deal with." She added, "It was just time to start a different life and do different things, move on."

Hmmm. real estate deals. I found this article very interesting...

DENNY HASTERT'S DODGY REAL ESTATE DEALS.

Here are the essential facts: In August, 2002, Hastert bought 196 acres of land in rural Kendall County, Illinois for $2,125,000. According to the Chicago Tribune, Hastert bought the plot in two separate transactions. The first deal gave him a house, barn, swimming pool, and 17 acres of land for $1.2 million. In the second deal, he obtained an additional 179 acres on an adjacent property for a little less than $5,200 per acre. The least valuable portions of the second deal were two fields, separated from the rest of the farm by a stream and inaccessible by road.

Hastert's graft sounds similar to Congressman Ken Calvert's (CA) real estate shady deal:

In 2005, [Calvert] and a partner paid $550,000 for a dusty four-acre parcel just south of March Air Reserve Base. Less than a year later, without even cutting the weeds or carting off old septic tank parts that littered the ground, they sold the land for almost $1 million....
During the time he owned the land, Calvert used the legislative process known as earmarking to secure $8 million for a planned freeway interchange 16 miles from the property, and an additional $1.5 million to support commercial development of the area around the airfield.

Folks,

Coultergeist wrote a column about the Plamegate. And yes, she is full it.:

Joe Wilson: End of an error

The first point of the liberals' conspiracy theory has been proved false since Britain's Butler Commission reviewed its government's prewar intelligence on Iraq and concluded that "the British government had intelligence from several different sources indicating that this visit was for the purpose of acquiring uranium."
The second point, that Wilson's wife was an undercover agent, has been proved false. Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald said Plame's CIA employment was not undercover but merely "classified." Everything is "classified" at the CIA. How covert was Valerie Plame at the CIA? Her top-secret code name was "Valerie Plame."
And now it turns out that the third point of the liberals' conspiracy theory was false: The original "leaker" of Plame's name to columnist Bob Novak -- not a crime -- was not in the White House at all. It was Richard Armitage, a State Department official, an opponent of the Iraq war.
So, what was Patrick Fitzgerald investigating? Not only was there no underlying crime, there was not even -- as The New York Times put it -- "an attempt to silence Mrs. Wilson's husband."
Fitzgerald's entire investigation was nothing but a perjury trap from beginning to end for anyone who "misremembered" anything about who told whom what about a low-level nobody at the CIA who happened to be married to a Walter Mitty fantasist.

Fitz,

When you nail little cojones and call it day, let the skanky, adam's apple, man-like creature, won't touch her with a ten foot pole, ho eat crow! Don't give Annthrax an interview and have Randall put the phone off the hook! Say no to interviews to skanks!

At the United Nations, the U.S. proposed stringent sanctions, including a trade ban on military and luxury items, the power to inspect all cargo entering or leaving the country, and freezing assets connected with its weapons programs.

While concerned that North Korea could use a nuclear weapon offensively, the United States is equally worried about it selling nuclear materials or weapons to others. North Korea is believed to have enough plutonium for as few as four and as many as a dozen nuclear bombs.

Bush said that North Korea already is one of the world's leading proliferators of missile technology, including transfers to Iran and Syria.

Watch Bush hit Iran and claim N. Korea tranferred weapons to Iran. Now who sold weapons to Korea, was Rummy or part of Clinton regime?

You have heard before that "Al-Qaeda" roughly translates into "the base," but were you aware that "Ana raicha Al Qaeda" is arabic colloquial for "I'm going to the toilet"?

Would hardened terrorists hell bent on the destruction of the west name their organization after a euphemism for taking a shit?

Hastert and the corrupted is still drinking the leftover koolaid from Foleyland

Denny Hastert and others in the Republican leadership say that they never heard a thing about Mark Foley's indiscretions with House pages before the fall of 2005. That's their story and they're sticking to it.
But a trickle of stories over the past few days have made that account even harder to believe. Since all the details can get confusing, below is a narrative of warnings and interventions before the leadership says it knew about Foley's problem.
As early as 1997, Foley began sending sexually explicit messages to a page; other pages have come forward from the 1998, 2000, and 2002 classes saying that they also received explicit messages

n May 2005, the State Comptroller's Office slammed the hospitals over the illegal experimentation in a report.

According to a report issued by the investigations department of the Health Ministry and exposed by Haaretz, the hospitals in Gedera and Rehovot conducted illegal and unethical testing on thousands of elderly patients for years.

During one of the incidents described, twelve patients died either during the experiments or shortly after they took place, but these incidents were not reported to the Health Ministry or investigated, as is required by law.

The Health Ministry's director general filed a complaint with police following an internal inquiry into the affair and the fraud squad confiscated from the hospitals many documents pertaining to the experimentation.

The ministry's investigation revealed that some of the patients were included in the experiments without providing their consent, while some of them suffered from severe mental damage, which prevented them from being legally capable of providing consent.

Doctors who do things like this should be given to the victims' families for their fate. Sick bastards.

Hmmmm. From WSJ:

In “I Dated Mr. Big,” Jennifer Binder dishes on her relationship with former Enron boss Jeff Skilling. In the article, in the November issue of Glamour magazine, she warns the magazine’s readers about falling for a rich guy.
Binder was the freelance photographer who dated Skilling during Enron’s glory days. His investing in her company became one of the juicier components of the prosecution’s case against Skilling and Lay.

Here’s the intro:
“My love affair with Jeffrey Skilling started one night in 1997 when I answered the phone to hear a series of stutters. “Uh, uh, hi . . . .” In his own awkward way, [Skilling] was asking me out. I was flattered, I was 26 and a freelance photographer in Houston; he was 43 and a phenomenal success story. Just a few hours earlier I’d photographed Jeff . . . for BusinessWeek, but I’d never expected to get a personal call from him. A whirlwind first date followed, followed by a heady courtship that lasted on and off for two years, until I found myself in a painful triangle with the woman who would become Jeff’s second wife.”

World: Secret Papers Could Halt CIA Case

Monday, 09 October 2006

Libby Intends to Present Classified Evidence; Judge Skeptical

Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff intends to load up his criminal trial with information about nine national security matters, the names of foreign leaders and details about various terrorist groups, according to court filings in the Valerie Plame leak case.

The papers filed this week hint at what has been taking place behind closed doors as Special Counsel Patrick J. Fitzgerald tries to limit the amount of classified data that I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby is permitted to use at his trial, scheduled for January.

U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton is asking whether classified evidence would overlap with what Libby is likely to say in his testimony. Libby's attorneys have said he will take the witness stand to deny lying to the FBI in its investigation of the disclosure of Plame's identity to the media.

Even if prosecutors agreed ahead of time about the importance of the "nine national security matters" he wants to disclose, Libby would be entitled to introduce additional evidence, the lawyers wrote.

In court documents, prosecutors argued that it would be "unnecessarily wasteful of time" to allow Libby to present "names of foreign leaders or government officials of other countries, or the names and histories of various terrorist groups."

The danger for prosecutors is that the sheer volume and sensitivity of the classified information Libby wants to introduce could scuttle the trial. Once the judge identifies classified information Libby is entitled to present, U.S. intelligence agencies must rule on whether the secrets can be declassified. The trial would collapse if the intelligence agencies refuse to declassify the information.

Libby is charged with five felony counts of perjury, obstruction and making false statements to the FBI. He is accused of lying about how he learned of Plame's CIA employment and what he told reporters about her when her husband, former U.S. ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, was accusing the Bush administration of twisting prewar intelligence to help sell the public on waging war against Iraq.

Libby plans to use what his attorneys call "a memory defense" and must be allowed to demonstrate how busy he was, the lawyers say.

Four top doctors arrested over illegal human experimentation
By Ran Reznik, Haaretz Correspondent

Four senior doctors at Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot and Hartzfeld Geriatric Hospital in Gedera suspected of illegally experimenting on humans were arrested Monday.

The national fraud squad has opened an investigation into the affair. The four are suspected of abuse, aggravated assault, causing death through negligence, fraud, forgery, breach of statutory duty, and disruption of legal proceedings.

The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Monday extended by three days the remands of Kaplan-Hartzfeld deputy director Dr. Shmuel Levi and Dr. Nadia Kagensky. The third suspect, Dr. Alona Smirnov, was released to house arrest for five days, and the fourth suspect was released following an investigation.

I was reading something from rawstory where it said gays would be set back from all this pedophile scandals, I agree about that. (My son's friend has adoptive parents that are gay partners, he and his brother being adopted by these women out of foster care was the best thing that ever happened to them.)

Hello SQ and all,

Here's some more red hot ink for your pen to help me vanquish the sword!

This Foley fiasco has given people the chance to change the make-up of this government, which will ultimately lead to the end of the Bush-Cheney reign. It may not be pretty, but it is a gift, nonetheless. Don't waste this advantage. Use it wisely to end the more pressing problems that face us all.

Want to better understand some of the desperation among top Christian politicos? Want to know what else they are pretending not to know about? Follow the links and read about who I am and what I have to say. Notice that my last name is Page? Think this "page" scandal is a mere coincidence? The timing and ramifications are much worse than most realize yet.

If Christian political leaders are going to go around attacking others for not living up to their professed values, it's a damn good idea to be truthful and actually walk the walk. Logs and motes in the eye, camels through the eye of a needle, glass houses, kettles and pots, and what goes around comes around, et al. Karma's a bitch when She finally decides enough is enough! This wouldn't have been so bad on Republicans if they hadn't been such arrogant hypocrites in order to corner the so-called values voters! Now the "Two Candlesticks" and "Two Witnesses" (Truth and Justice) are "breathing fire" and "raining hailstones!"

Christian Political Leadership, Hypocrisy, Duplicity, and Purposeful Evil

The current scandal involving Congressman Foley is merely the latest in an amazingly long list of blatant deception and duplicity by Republicans and the Christian Right in recent years. While bedeviling us all with their holier-than-thou pretenses, they consistently support and/or perform blatant greed and abominable evil. Never forget the extent of their arrogance over the last two decades and especially the last 6 years. It is beyond amazing that Christians continue to blindly support such obviously blatant scoundrels, even as they are repeatedly exposed going against the most basic of human values. The level of hypocrisy and duplicity boggles the mind. There is no longer any doubt, whatsoever, that Christianity is little more than a purposeful deception used by political and religious leaders to dupe, manipulate, and coerce entire populations into giving them wealth and power, which they always use for greed, injustice, and abominable evils.

The actions of Foley and those who covered up for him directly parallel the actions of scores of priests that have raped innocent children, preyed upon others for centuries, and had their actions hidden and abetted by the Vatican. Now, in eerie repetition of Vatican history, we have a power hungry Christian Emperor (GW) working closely with the Vatican and Judeo-Christian aristocrats to lead crusades in the so-called Holy Land. Furthermore, to leave little doubt about the reality of this assessment, the USA, as the new Holy Roman Empire, is about to legalize the torture it has perpetrated in recent years while steadily reversing many of the democratic and civil freedoms that people gained when the Vatican and royalty lost control of their European empire at the turn of the nineteenth century. Now we see them following the same old path of evil as they strive to cement the status of the USA as the latest proxy Vatican empire. Make no mistake about it, the new dark ages are looming on the horizon unless we do something proactive to prevent it.

Remember that those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it!
