Aircraft Bomb Plot Thwarted in Britain

Seriously, the terrorists have seized the day - the stock market will be down, and our freedoms - now further restricted in the name of security. They don't always have to succeed to win. It makes one wonder if the war in Iraq has anything to do with creating a whole new generation of terrorists worldwide...

Good Morning Justice Bloggers!

It's good to get back to the blog after a week away -- I had a busy week with a sick two year-old and a friend's mother dying...

I was so happy about Lamont's win!!! But we have so much more work to do until November...I need to send more money to my Senate candidate in Missouri...I hope I can find some time to help her campaign in other ways...

We will have to fight the bush-kisser to get him out of the race and his GOP supporters...boy, the desperate GOP spinsters are really trying to spin this one between bush-kisser and Lamont big-time...I hope all their Rovian (cut and run) BS blows up in their faces...

This is an exciting time for the Deomocratic Party to redefine themselves...the real BS is that the Repubs and MSM are trying to paint this as the fringe Lefties trying to take over the party -- haha -- I am an Independent and I'm a sh@t-load more fiscally conservative than Dumbya and his girlie Congress...

Everybody needs to keep blogging and sharing their views with everyone they come in contact with about this unfair, morally corrupt Iraq war and WH admin...

It's so good to be back here -- Good Morning Fitzie!!!

All of these recommendations are well prepared in advance. Having studied sociology at the college level, you might understand the most basic organizational justifications for their own pitiful existence. Inconveniencing the public is another incremental drill to make the general public submit gradually to continue outrages from the so called government. I say so called because these things were handled in previous times on a covert basis keeping normalcy.

This kind of operation is typical historically, but in a subset of creating the illusion of preparedness and security.

Popular Mechanics was taken over by undesirable functionaries of the USG, now Senator McCain makes himself the laughingstock with his undetermined denials of the obvious. Strawman arguments easily rebutted are routinely placed, while disinformation abounds. Ending the cold war to impose a totalitarian state in which people still cling to their illusions of former freedoms, is inane. I prefer the old cold war to this nonsense. Have a nice day, with all your useless agents eating out of our substance.

He conceded that was never an easy request, but it was up to everyone to ask: "What price our security, at what cost can we preserve our freedoms?"

The UK faced its "most sustained period of severe threat since the end of World War II", the home secretary warned.

He urged people from all communities to help by being vigilant. "Not Racism."

Dead With Ned
Why Lamont's victory spells Democratic disaster.
By Jacob Weisberg
Posted Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at 3:33 PM ET

Political analysts tend to overinterpret the results of isolated elections. But you can hardly read too much into Ned Lamont's defeat of Joe Lieberman in Connecticut's Aug. 8 primary. This is a signal event that will have a huge and lasting negative impact on the Democratic Party. The result suggests that instead of capitalizing on the massive failures of the Bush administration, Democrats are poised to re-enact a version of the Vietnam-era drama that helped them lose five out six presidential elections between 1968 and the end of the Cold War.

The election was about one issue and one issue only: the war in Iraq. Joe Lieberman was an otherwise highly regarded, well-ensconced Democratic incumbent who would never have faced a meaningful primary challenge had he not vocally supported President Bush's invasion in 2003, continued to defend the war in principle, and opposed adopting a timetable for withdrawal. Ned Lamont, a preppy political novice from Greenwich, got the idea to run last year when something he read in the Wall Street Journal made him gag on his breakfast. It was a hopeful analysis of Iraq by Lieberman. As a candidate, Lamont was less a fleshed-out alternative to Lieberman than a stand-in for an anti-war, anti-Bush movement. His campaign was made plausible by Web-based "Net roots" activists who cared principally about the war in Iraq and badgered Lieberman mercilessly about his support for it.

Lieberman's opponents are not entirely wrong about the war. The invasion of Iraq was, in ways that have since become hard to dispute, a terrible mistake. There were no weapons of mass destruction to be dismantled, we had no plan for occupying the country, and our troops remain there only to prevent the civil war we unleashed from turning into a bigger and more horrific civil war. Just about everyone now agrees that the sooner we find a way to withdraw, the better for us and for the Iraqis. The problem for the Democrats is that the anti-Lieberman insurgents go far beyond simply opposing Bush's faulty rationale for the war, his dishonest argumentation for it, and his incompetent execution of it. Many of them appear not to take the wider, global battle against Islamic fanaticism seriously. They see Iraq purely as a symptom of a cynical and politicized right-wing response to Sept. 11, as opposed to a tragic misstep in a bigger conflict. Substantively, this view indicates a fundamental misapprehension of the problem of terrorism. Politically, it points the way to perpetual Democratic defeat.

Gore isn't quite as green as he's led the world to believe
Updated 8/10/2006 10:44 AM ET
By Peter Schweizer

Graciously, Gore tells consumers how to change their lives to curb their carbon-gobbling ways: Switch to compact fluorescent light bulbs, use a clothesline, drive a hybrid, use renewable energy, dramatically cut back on consumption. Better still, responsible global citizens can follow Gore's example, because, as he readily points out in his speeches, he lives a "carbon-neutral lifestyle." But if Al Gore is the world's role model for ecology, the planet is doomed.

For someone who says the sky is falling, he does very little. He says he recycles and drives a hybrid. And he claims he uses renewable energy credits to offset the pollution he produces when using a private jet to promote his film. (In reality, Paramount Classics, the film's distributor, pays this.)

Public records reveal that as Gore lectures Americans on excessive consumption, he and his wife Tipper live in two properties: a 10,000-square-foot, 20-room, eight-bathroom home in Nashville, and a 4,000-square-foot home in Arlington, Va. (He also has a third home in Carthage, Tenn.) For someone rallying the planet to pursue a path of extreme personal sacrifice, Gore requires little from himself.

Then there is the troubling matter of his energy use. In the Washington, D.C., area, utility companies offer wind energy as an alternative to traditional energy. In Nashville, similar programs exist. Utility customers must simply pay a few extra pennies per kilowatt hour, and they can continue living their carbon-neutral lifestyles knowing that they are supporting wind energy. Plenty of businesses and institutions have signed up. Even the Bush administration is using green energy for some federal office buildings, as are thousands of area residents.

But according to public records, there is no evidence that Gore has signed up to use green energy in either of his large residences. When contacted Wednesday, Gore's office confirmed as much but said the Gores were looking into making the switch at both homes. Talk about inconvenient truths.

Gore is not alone. Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean has said, "Global warming is happening, and it threatens our very existence." The DNC website applauds the fact that Gore has "tried to move people to act." Yet, astoundingly, Gore's persuasive powers have failed to convince his own party: The DNC has not signed up to pay an additional two pennies a kilowatt hour to go green. For that matter, neither has the Republican National Committee.

Maybe our very existence isn't threatened.

Gore has held these apocalyptic views about the environment for some time. So why, then, didn't Gore dump his family's large stock holdings in Occidental (Oxy) Petroleum? As executor of his family's trust, over the years Gore has controlled hundreds of thousands of dollars in Oxy stock. Oxy has been mired in controversy over oil drilling in ecologically sensitive areas.

Living carbon-neutral apparently doesn't mean living oil-stock free. Nor does it necessarily mean giving up a mining royalty either.

Humanity might be "sitting on a ticking time bomb," but Gore's home in Carthage is sitting on a zinc mine. Gore receives $20,000 a year in royalties from Pasminco Zinc, which operates a zinc concession on his property. Tennessee has cited the company for adding large quantities of barium, iron and zinc to the nearby Caney Fork River.

The issue here is not simply Gore's hypocrisy; it's a question of credibility. If he genuinely believes the apocalyptic vision he has put forth and calls for radical changes in the way other people live, why hasn't he made any radical change in his life? Giving up the zinc mine or one of his homes is not asking much, given that he wants the rest of us to radically change our lives.

Another person left her brains in the closet: Coultergeist!

Directing their ire at Maxine Waters

You know what won't help the right with its race-relations problems? When high-profile conservatives make obviously racist comments about a leading African-American lawmaker.
In her August 9 column, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter wrote of African-American Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA):
Congresswoman Maxine Waters had parachuted into Connecticut earlier in the week to campaign against [Sen. Joseph I.] Lieberman because he once expressed reservations about affirmative action, without which she would not have a job that didn't involve wearing a paper hat.
First, I suppose this is to be expected. Coulter hadn't offended anyone publicly in days, so it was inevitable that she'd lash out with something like this.
Second, it doesn't exactly help Joe Lieberman that he targeted Waters for criticism on the same day.

War's value (on any list) should be last place.

Right now the highest priority is a cease fire on multi-front wars.

There you have it. Something of the lowest value (the wars), having the highest priority - a cease fire. (For the sake of lives)

Democracy's priority (one of the highest values) is thwarted (temporarily) because the lowest of all human endeavors, (wars), "demands" (we call it the "right" to life) the highest priority, (a cease fire)of us NOW.

Irans' time will come - without war, without a single shot or drop of blood. But....

MONTGOMERY, N.J. - Barbara Lehman has lived in this central New Jersey community for 30 years, but her time here is nearing an end.

But her property taxes have climbed 56 percent since 2000 to a knee-buckling $14,000 a year — a heavy load for a high school French teacher whose salary goes up only about 3 percent a year.

The average property owner in the Garden State pays about $6,000 a year in property taxes, twice the national average

This is an outrage! I have friends in NJ that really hit hard big time with high rise of property taxes as homeowners. And on top of that the state of New Jersey is being hit with eminent domain. I thought for the longest that the state of California was paying the highest amount in property taxes.

I look forward to November!

Tired but still preppy-looking Ned Lamont late on Tuesday shouted a familiar question to his supporters, who had gathered to celebrate the millionaire's dramatic victory over Joe Lieberman in the Democratic Senate primary in Connecticut. "How many lobbyists are there in Washington for every member of Congress?" he yelled. "Sixty-three," came back the collective reply.

Mr Lamont's victory owed much to Connecticut Democrats' outrage over Mr Lieberman's unflinching support for President George W. Bush's war in Iraq. But it also owed something to a broader distaste among Americans for politics as usual. Moral alarm over the backroom political culture of America's capital goes back much further even than James Stewart's 1930s film Mr Smith Goes to Washington. Like the popular Hollywood classic, anti-Washington outrage is something Americans rarely tire of.

A US judge has increased media tycoon Lord Conrad Black's bail bond by $1m (£528,000) to $21m.

The move resolves a dispute over Lord Black's finances, amid claims of discrepancies in the declared health of his wealth.

Lord Black is set to go on trial in the US next year to face charges of fraud and racketeering.

Lord Black, 61, denies allegations he helped divert almost $84m (£49m) from media group Hollinger International.

The company owns the Chicago Sun-Times and other newspapers, and used to own the Telegraph Group in the UK.

When charged last year, Lord Black put forward his mansion in Palm Beach in Florida to cover part of his bond.

The UK’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) investigation into an alleged Nigerian bribery scandal has taken on a number of new twists, according to information disclosed in the Financial Times in London.

The investigations centre on Halliburton, a US company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and in particular, on one of its subsidiaries, Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR). The SFO probe followed criticism that London authorities were doing little on the case even though a British-based company and a British lawyer were allegedly at the centre of a plot to pay more than $170m of bribes to win $7bn of building contracts.

Halliburton has declined to comment other than to say it continued to co-operate with the authorities investigating its Nigerian operations. According to company information, Halliburton was founded in 1919 and today ranks as “one of the world's largest providers of products and services to oil and gas industries. The company adds value through the entire lifecycle of oil and gas reservoirs”.

The most substantial political dimension of the case, so far, is that it relates in part to the period between 1995 and 2000 when Halliburton was headed by Dick Cheney, incumbent US vice-president. Halliburton became involved in the Nigerian consortium through its 1998 takeover of Dresser Industries, after the first gas plant building contract was signed but before later project expansion deals were agreed.

At the heart of the case are allegations made to a French judge by a former executive of an international consortium known as TSKJ, which has for the past decade been building and expanding a giant natural gas liquefaction plant in southern Nigeria. The plant, one of Africa's biggest industrial projects and a natural gas supplier of global significance, is owned by the Nigerian government, Royal Dutch/Shell, Total of France and Eni of Italy.

According to the Financial Times, the former French executive said the consortium, which includes MW Kellogg, a British company 55% owned by KBR, had set up a slush fund to channel pay-offs to help it win a series of building contracts since the mid-1990s.

Hello To The Justice Bloggers,

Well, it looks like the toothless neocon frauds are trying to steal your identities. Poor dears, none of them has one of their own, so I guess they're a bunch of JB wannabees. I love this blog, check it out often during the day, and so I finally chose an identity and here I am.
Stop me if I'm wrong, but I think I just read that the plan was to blow up the plane with an energy drink, some kind of gel and mp-3s, huh????? "A senior congressional source said it is believed the plotters planned to mix a British sports drink with a gel-like substance to make an explosive that they would possibly trigger with an MP3 player or cell phone.

Wow! Who knew Mountain Dew and Dippity Do were so dangerous when mixed? Is this possible? I will look at the rows of jelly jars in the grocery with great respect from now on. And in addition to trying to scare us into submission, on another front
the republicans are launching their trash-the-democrats-who support-Lamont blitz: http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Republican_blitz_tries_to_link_nationwide_0810.html

snip: The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has issued at least 10 press releases today, many asking whether particular Democrats—including Pennsylvania candidate Bob Casey, Arizona candidate Jim Pederson, Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington, and Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey—will “support fringe candidate Ned Lamont or the 2000 VP nominee Joe Lieberman.” But the DSCC appreciates their support of the need for a change: Reached for comment, a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) spokesman suggested that the “people at NRSC must be the last people in America that approve of the management of the situation in Iraq.”

“The runoff in Connecticut was a referendum on that, and voters fundamentally reject the White House conduct… If the White House or the kids at NRSC want to frame the elections as a choice between the status quo in Iraq and a fundamentally new direction, we encourage them to do so.”

Neocon Valley Days may be about to go into reruns on the Faux station. Yay!

The Wet T-shirt contest?? I leave that up to the main man who is the owner of this blog as the judge: Fitz!

From Talking Point Memo site,
another GOP kooolaid endorsed Lickerman. Man, the GOPs are coming out like roaches to endorse Holy Joe!

MINNESOTA REPUBLICAN SENATE candidate Mark Kennedy, a dozen points behind Democrat Amy Klobuchar in latest poll (Rasmussen, 8/1), endorses Lieberman.
So does McGavick in Washington state.
It's an avalanche. All the GOP senate contenders who are sinking in the polls are endorsing Joe.

From Crooks and Liars:

Bush says he has given "our officials the tools they need to protect our people."

And there you go folks from the lips of King Gerbil!

Today has seen more spinning than Bush's head after a good meth party.

I did notice that Bush and Shug are still "on vacation" at the Ranch while Laura is somewhere else (no doubt doesn't want to watch) and of course, Blair the Poodle is also on vacation.

Now anyone with a brain would wonder why these two powerful and undoubtedly concerned leaders are on VACATION during this trying time for our Republic.

GB has been responsible for the recruitment, training and increase in turrurrists throughout the world. Of course these ARE real turrurrists - and we have Bush and Mr. PotatoHead to thank for that. If it hadn't been for their jackass efforts to "spread freedom", we wouldn't all be in danger now.

Actually ARE we in danger - or is this just more shrill screeching political rhetoric due to the potential LOSS by the RePIGS in November?

Just curious, but HOW do you detonate anything with an IPod? Don't you need a receiver? An IPod doesn't TRANSMIT anything.

Be aware new person with anagram name of Senior Bush (clever) that dippitydoo is powerful stuff when combined with Gatoraid.

I agree with Grandmanuk at the end of the day it was a plan to bring terrorism back to the mines of people. Homeland security is so funny they are clueless. Everytime the terrorist have a so call plan we jump. Now no liquids, sneakes, baby formula, tooth paste and so much more. I guess the best way to fly these day is nake. Then our wise leaders will come up with a problem with that.
As for Fitz and the dounut well just have coffee.
The GOP is so confused now that Lamont won. Their going crazy and making big mistakes. As for Americans being lap dogs again with the levels Red Orange Green they can forget it. I know so on this board that support the corrupt Administration don't like honest people winning but I say get use to it, the end is near for the current corrupt evil Bush Administration.

The GOP wants to talk about Nazi Hitler?

And then there is this from RawStory also:

U.S. Muslim groups criticized President George W. Bush on Thursday for calling a foiled plot to blow up airplanes part of a "war with Islamic fascists," saying the term could inflame anti-Muslim tensions.

U.S. officials have said the plot, thwarted by Britain, to blow up several aircraft over the Atlantic bore many of the hallmarks of al Qaeda.

"We believe this is an ill-advised term and we believe that it is counter-productive to associate Islam or Muslims with fascism," said Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations advocacy group.

Perhaps the American Muslims need to tell Bush and Co. to take the gags off people and prove they did it or go after Saudis. Perhaps Bush should prove that he and his ilk DIDN'T DO 9/11. After all, most innocent people would want to clear up their names. Is the FBI even searching for bin Laden anymore, probably not...he's probably been dead for years. Most people running around in caves like Bushco. said with those type of kidney problems would be dead.

I do think Baghdad Bob was more accurate then Snowjob Tony, maybe Bush wants to redo the number of deaths on April 3-4, 2003. He disgraces his own troops' memories.

Grandmanuk @ 8:42 PM " I started out the day thinking that the terrsst threat was manufactured by Blair"

I tend to think along these lines also. I remember when Bush and Blair attended a conference with the world leaders and Blair talked himself red in the face trying to convince the others to join them in the Iraq war. - Suppose Bush is taking directions from Blair? Whichever, they are both connected to these terrorist attacks one way or another I believe. The Truth will come out sooner or later. It always does.

fictitious = in German: fingiert
was it correct ?

Close enough, DS. :)

90% of all translations are incorrect anyway. The best translations come research and developement (R&D) doctorate projects and the Academica.

In this case (taken in context)several alternatives offer meaning and intent closer to the original text than the word "fictitious" does. The alternatives are:

"concocted"
"contrived"
"fabricated"
"hatched"

...to mention only a few. People raised multi-lingually will have the fewest problems in selecting the word coming closest and conveying the most appropriate meaning in the context where the original word appears.

Upon due consideration, I hereby request that you stop f**ing with MY country, earth and planet in general.

Everything you touch is foul and filth and lies. You have polluted and corrupted this lovely wonderful country we have all been given. Your greed is legion, your hate and lies represent everything our country does NOT represent.

You do not speak for me - you do not speak for my family. I will not fall prey to your vile lies and your attempts to make me fearful.

CBS's "up to the minute" news reporting "Bank of England" froze the accts. of Pakistanis- like 17 or so of the so called 'liquid' plotters. Now, Tom had that up (Bank of England are very close to being placed in Chinese receivership.) Maybe something is stinky, eh?

The story is already changing from going to strike the next day from anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks. Prolly going to introduce global ID cards or some shit like that.

The news is pushing al-Qaeda too. The Arabs should tell Bush and Blair to prove they did it once and for all, same with the Iraqis. Show the evidence. Marcus Icke & Stefan Grossmann did a great job figuring out the illusion on 9/11.

"If you cannot attend to the underlying reasons that bring groups together that indulge in terrorism, it will continue to exist. There are always more people coming up that seek vengeance, and are prepared to risk or give up their life for a cause. What you see now are opportunities to address the real problem, but it requires leaders who are first and foremost concerned for peace.

You may ask wherein lies the answer, since it is clear you have few if any of your Western leaders who talk of peace as their priority. Indeed, there seems to be an emphasis on the war against terrorism, but without a solution as to how you prevent it rising up again. Trust is a scarce commodity and it is vital in any negotiations that may bring an end to war. Sadly, the West is lead by the policies that are directed by the Illuminati and until there hold is broken, there cannot be a major change in the world."

This week's cross-Atlantic terror alert has all the markings of an orchestrated incident to maintain public support for the ongoing US-British war on terror. White House spokesman Tony Snow admitted that President Bush had not been awakened by the dramatic news of Britain's air traffic shutdown because "Bush had been getting regular briefings on the developments for days." If they knew so far in advance, why the dramatic shut-down of trans-Atlantic air traffic inconveniencing thousands, as if they intervened just in time?
