The Israelis have now created an environmental disaster from the war with an oil spill in the Mediterranean and I think this should be reason enough to stop the war to allow cleanup crews to start the work before its too late.
I don't know, somebody on this blog said this is the summer from hell, and I tend to agree...
We need some good news for a change.

Unmerry "Fitzmas" For The New York Times

The Old Media's favorite Special Prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald is heading for a fall from grace. The non-partisan U. S. Attorney failed to deliver an indictment against Karl Rove and let it slip out that Valerie Plame was not covert and that her "outing" as a CIA employee didn't damage national. Now he is forcing The New York Times to hand over the telephone records of two journalists.

Fitzgerald is trying to determine if government officials leaked information to Judith Miller and Philip Shenon about a 2001 FBI investigation of two Islamic charities with "alleged" links to al Qaeda, the Holy Land Foundation and the Global Relief Fund. The reporters contacted members of the group and either intentionally or inadvertently tipped them off to an impending raid.

Who would believe that reporters for "the newspaper of record" would do anything to undermine national security?

Apparently Fitzgerald does. Merry Fitzmas, Pinch!

Good Morning to everyone!

It sounds like Bob Ney and William Jefferson are the next targets for indictments. It is a shame that there so much corruption happening on Capitol Hill with Congress. I hope in November that the people will choose the appropriate candidates to serve the public honestly. Unfortunately, we are paying a big price for Congress that constantly rubber stamp the President's bills. I am hoping that the people get to the polls cove November and vote.

Let's see in 5 years Bush has managed to break down relations of must of US friends, major debt, bring racism back, corrupt our government and use God's name for evil. Talk about for-filling the bible prophecy by bring hate and chaos to the world. Now that's George W. Bush's legacy.

Kissing up to the Gerbil on one hand then slamming him on the other hand.. And way to go Kennedy, Feingold, and Durkin for sticking to their guns. Amd I hope that it is stalled until November. There will be a lot of cleaning uo to do in Congress. For one thing, I highly recommend that none of the people of Congress get a pay raise or a cost of living raise. It should based of each individual's performance. Now, if a company does that for their employees, then I think Congress should get the same treatment.

More in the news:

From the Carpetbaggar report:

Good luck, Ford!

From Leftcoaster:

Only 113,000 Jobs?
by Steve Soto

Yes, the Bush Economy is slowing down, just as the midterms approach and just as Karl Rove planned to run on it this fall. The Labor Department reported that only 113,000 new jobs were created across the nation in July, which was below the prediction of economists that an anemic 145,000 new jobs would be created last month.
And for all those Bush cheerleaders who ignore the jobs number to boast about a relatively meaningless unemployment rate number, there’s no silver lining there either, as the unemployment rate went up to 4.8% in July, contrary to expectations that it would hold steady at 4.6%. And the time the unemployed spent searching for work jumped from 16.2 weeks in June to 17.3 weeks in July.

The Gerbil and the GOP will have a tough sell to the American people in November.

And, remember this guy? Former DHS nominee?

Blogger SP Biloxi said...

Jackie:

I just read from Andrew Sullivsn's blog about his prediction that Lieberman is eyeing Rummy's job. You both could be right. And it is good timing.. The Gerbil's strategy could be if Lieberman loses in November, replace Rummy with Lickerman. Now, if Lickerman wins in November, then either Rummy stays or the Gerbil will eye for another buttkisser to take Rummy's place. Rummy can be indespensible to Daddy Gerbil but not to King Gerbil. That is Daddy's decision. But, Lieberman is connected a lot more to the Gerbil family with Enron. And that could be a big disaster to the Gerbil family.. But, you nitice that the Gerbil hasn't come to rescue for Rummy.

Speaking of the Gerbil...

From Thinkprogress:

George W. Bush’s priority: Clearing brush.
President Bush arrived here Thursday evening to begin a 10-day stretch at his Prairie Chapel ranch, his longest planned period away from Washington during this summer vacation season. […]
[Bush] plans to spend most of the coming month out of town. He has planned long weekends at Camp David and the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, for August, before returning to Texas before the Labor Day weekend.

And where is Laura and Shug?

An Embarrassment of Riches for Lieberman's Challenger
Only a day after Ned Lamont criticized Wal-Mart for its wages and benefits, the Connecticut Senate Democratic hopeful explains his ownership of stock in the retail giant

Ned Lamont, the Democratic challenger who faces off against incumbent Joe Lieberman in Tuesday's Connecticut primary, has run into another problem with his multi-million dollar stock portfolio. Last spring the anti-war candidate had to deal with revelations that he owned up to $50,000 worth of stock in Halliburton, the services giant that has been at the center of controversy over its lucrative post-war contracts in Iraq. And now, only a day after he took Wal-Mart to task at a campaign stop in Bridgeport, a review of his personal financial disclosure forms has revealed that he owns between $2,000 and $30,000 worth of Wal-Mart stock in two managed accounts.

Connecticut Heckler Has a Tricky Past

It turns out, this recent flap isn't the first time Goodstein's been in hot water. Way back in 1983, Goodstein -- then a lawyer for the doomed Mondale for President campaign -- "surreptitiously took" a notebook from a Philadelphia office in order to hide the nature of the campaign's scheme to use rather flimsy outside organizations to evade fundraising laws. The action was disclosed in a 1985 book and reported in the Washington Post. (The notebook was returned soon after Goodstein took it, the paper reported; the FEC discovered the ruse, and Mondale -- after losing 49 states to Ronald Reagan -- paid over $379,000 in fines.)
As Goodstein told the Washington Post (article not online) at the time of its article on the topic: "It was the middle of a campaign and the stakes were high. . . It seemed to be the thing to do at the moment."
Since the 1980s, Goodstein has worked as a lobbyist specializing in waste issues.

The only thing more embarrassing would be to continue fighting after such a decisive defeat.

Folks,

Here is preview of what the GOP's strategy and homestretch campaigning between now and November election.

Raw Story acquires 91-page Republican playbook for 'homestretch' campaigning

The document, signed by Senators Rick Santorum (R-PA) and Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), reveals plans to focus Republican Senatorial campaigns on three themes

1.Next week, Republicans will tout efforts to "secure America's prosperity," through a variety of programs. Plans for small business health insurance pooling, spending reductions, increased domestic oil drilling, and "permanent death tax reform" are all to be pushed at the state level.

2. Mid-month, Republicans are expected to shift gears, instead focusing voter's attention on a variety of values-based initiatives. "Democrats oppose preserving a clear definition of marriage, are blocking child custody protections, and have obstructed the confirmation of fair judges," the document reads. "Republicans are committed to protecting these traditional values by fostering a culture of life, protecting children, banning internet gambling and upholding the rule of law."
3. Republicans then plan to spend the month's remaining two weeks promoting the party's efforts in regard to homeland security.

Thieving White House Adviser: Katrina Made Me Do It

A dispatch from the McClatchy Newspapers Washington Bureau:
Former White House adviser Claude Allen tearfully pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor theft charge Friday, telling a Montgomery County judge that he lost his bearings after working 14-hour days and getting little sleep in the "tumultuous time" after Hurricane Katrina.
"Something did go very wrong," said Allen, who began crying during his remarks to the court. "I failed to restrain myself ... I did not appreciate what was going on."
That's right, folks: Katrina made him shoplift. On twenty-five separate occasions.
The judge gave Allen two years' criminal probation, 40 hours of community service, and $1350 in fines. If he stays out of trouble for the length of his probation, the conviction will be removed from his criminal record.

As for homeland security well the terror can get on a plane easier then an American. Look the Middle East has brought up most of the property in the US so homeland security is a joke. Remember I told you that the Middle East leaders were smart notice Bin Lidens son is out to continue working in his interest. ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Respondents to a CNN poll released Friday were nearly evenly split on President Bush's handling of the current conflict in the Middle East.

Forty-six percent of 1,047 Americans participating in the telephone poll, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation for CNN, said they disapproved of Bush's handling of the crisis, while 43 percent said they approved. Ten percent had no opinion.

Overall, Bush's job approval rating continues a slow climb, but the majority of Americans -- 59 percent -- said they disapprove of how Bush is handling his job as president. Forty percent said they approved.

The approval numbers are a jump from previous polls. In April, only 32 percent said they approved of the way Bush was handling his job, and 60 percent disapproved. Since then, his approval numbers have been creeping upward.

"CNN said", I know. CNN is an arm of the Far Right Wing Conspiracy. How can we believe anything they say when they publish a poll showing Bush's approval ratings are going up?

Thank you Chimp for your kind words and I love your web site.
I wonder who will do the movie about the 5 years the United States was under siege. I heard Connie trying to talk to the Cuban people with the Bush propaganda and wanting the people to think of the Bush Administration as friends. With friends like Bush you wont need enemies as that's what he is a snake.

LOL!

That was funny!

I think at this point in order to not get caught in the metal detector at the airport, we all might as well strip nude with one hand holding your ID and other holding your crouch! Other than DHS is a joke!

Roger:
What do you think about this new book regarding 9/11, "Without Precedent," written by the Chairmen of the investigation, Kean and Hamilton? I guess the book will go on sale Aug. 15th.

Blogger Suzie-Q (S-Q) said...

Here is more about the book:

WASHINGTON - The Sept. 11 commission was so frustrated with repeated misstatements by the Pentagon and FAA about their response to the 2001 terror attacks that it considered an investigation into possible deception, the panel’s chairmen say in a new book.

Republican Thomas Kean and Democrat Lee Hamilton also say in “Without Precedent” that their panel was too soft in questioning former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani — and that the 20-month investigation may have suffered for it.

Group of 9/11 widows 'question the veracity of the entire Commission’s report'

Four widows instrumental in getting Congress to push President Bush to create the 9/11 Independent Commission are insisting that it "failed in its duties" on the heels of two recent news reports which allege that some commissioners knew they were being "deceived" by NORAD officials, and the widows are now questioning "the veracity of the entire Commission’s report," RAW STORY has found.

Biloxi, no disrespect, honestly, but you've been here since this morning, all day and now into the night. Later this morning you'll sign off and then wake up late and come right back here. Ad infinitum.

Dude! Get a life!

Roger, if Fisher is going to bring down the Illumanti why then is he still alive...c'mon get real.

Are you aware that Thomas Kean is a Zionist Neocon playing both good cop/bad cop and that his first loyalty is Israel?

Roger:
No, I didn't know. Wow! Is there anyone left that isn't connected to them? Geez...

So, if and when all the dots are connected...following the money trail will do that...and proving all that...then all the ugly truth will be exposed!

personally it's getting to be too much bother to sort thru all the game playing to derive anything of much worth...for me any way.

the humor is funny don't get me wrong, it's just getting old here to me.

Delta Seeks to End Pilots' Pension Plan

If the court in New York approves Delta's request to cancel its pilots' pensions effective Sept. 2, the government's pension insurer would take over the plan and pay pilots a reduced benefit based on when they retire and other factors. A hearing on the request is set for Sept. 1.

Truly sad!

Final Posting:

From WSJ:

Business Sees Republicans as Vulnerable

BUSINESS GROWS BEARISH on Republicans holding Congress.
“It is likely that Republicans lose control of the House,” says Bernadette Budde of Business-Industry Political Action Committee. The biggest danger for Republicans: “clumps” of defeats in states such as Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York, submerging incumbents who don’t now appear vulnerable.
U.S. Chamber of Commerce election drive — dogged by controversy over accuracy of TV ads — visits Connecticut this weekend to shore up vulnerable Republican Reps. Simmons, Shays and Johnson. Democrats fret a Lieberman defeat in next week’s Senate primary there could imperil House races, since his possible independent candidacy could lift November turnout by moderate Republicans.
Democrats’ strong 2006 fund-raising means “money is no longer the issue,” says Michael Malbin, a campaign-finance expert.

ChoicePoint data-mining theft widespread, Wayne Madsen backs up every single allegation Jeff Fisher is fighting to expose.

Thought I'd post it here, looks like they tortured John Caylor and nearly killed his family because he followd the trail of Jeff Fisher's evidence.

This election fraud is definitely real and verified treason, I hope the police forces do not get intimidated. Its time to crack down and end this.

Hey if Fisher himself can do it, any one of us can do it!

Good site, and while you are there...you can check out why people around the WORLD will never let go why their citizens were murdered on 9/11 and the shoddy work of the commission, and the failure (lies?) of so many federal employees.

9/11...the reason why 2 wars were launched, right? Who benefited, how many died, was it worth it?

Then, check out Cloak and Dagger.de for more coverage in a different way. Rough language, but you should be angry at what is happening around the world or you're in denial or one of them. *Them* being the ones who have no care for humanity, laws, environment, suffering, or freedom.
