GOP Family Values...

what's new?

House Majority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) met with Ney last week to urge him to step aside, reminding him that with a son in college and a daughter nearing college age, he will need money, according to several congressional Republican aides. If he lost his House seat for the party, Boehner is said to have cautioned, Ney could not expect a lucrative career on K Street to pay those tuition bills, along with the hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees piling up. <more>

Do you know when you are reminded of something? (with my brain fog, it isn't often) But in reading this weird story about a prisoner, I noticed a word that sorta caught my attention.

Googled that, then I remembered something from a few years ago, say maybe '04? Does 'weekly reader' remind you of anything?

Way to go for Lamont!

Let's keep score folks this week:

1.Ney bailed out and lost his milk money to work on K Street. I look for an indictment on the horizon on him!

2. The Hammer got nailed in the Supreme Court and Justice Scalia. And The Hammer bailed out from the race!

3. Lickerman got licked by Lamont!

4. The bloggers rule in the Connecticut!

So, there is hope folks. I am looking forward to November election!

P.S. If Lickerman doesn't get any backing for his run as Independent, look for Lickerman to act like as thought he is on Star Trek: Beam me up Scotty! Meaning bailing out folks!

Good Night! Signing off!

Ha! Someone called into the local news that KS voting machines didn't have a paper trail and action was taken in Congress last week. And so and so in KS are running their campaigns on the new, improved voting machines. I love it. Thanks Jeff! And everyone else of course.

Interesting about the "Weekly Readers", I remembered this because of the 'red' slant back in '04 and the whole school voted about a week before in their own election. Hmmm. Perhaps I might have to question some kiddos and see if they used the computers or the "Weekly Readers". I do know my friend said the actual day of elections all the school kids ran out of school asking their parents, "did you remember to vote for Bush?"

NEW ORLEANS - A federal appeals court panel on Thursday refused to let Texas Republicans replace Tom DeLay’s name on the November congressional ballot...

Democrats sued to keep DeLay on the ballot. Keeping him there gives them the opportunity to make the indicted former House majority leader their symbol for claims that the Republicans are corrupt.

Three-term Sen. Joe Lieberman fell to anti-war challenger Ned Lamont in Connecticut's Democratic primary Tuesday, a race seen as a harbinger of sentiment over the conflict that has claimed the lives of more than 2,500 U.S. troops in Iraq.

Unbowed, Lieberman immediately announced he would enter the fall campaign as an independent. Only six years ago, Lieberman was the Democrats' choice for vice president.

NEW DELHI (AP) -- A southern Indian state on Wednesday banned the sale and production of Coke, Pepsi, Sprite and other soft drinks made by the Indian subsidiaries of Coca-Cola Co. and PepsiCo Inc., an official said.

Four Indian states have already banned the sale of Coke, Pepsi and other soft drinks at schools, colleges and government offices after a research group in New Delhi last week claimed they contained high levels of pesticide residue. But the state of Kerala was the first to impose a total ban on production and sales.

The moves will likely hurt local sales of Coca Cola and PepsiCo, which account for nearly 80 percent of India's $2 billion-plus soft drinks market.

Kerala's health secretary, Viswas Mehta, told The Associated Press the state banned the drinks because of concerns over pesticide contamination and said his department began collecting its own samples of Coke and Pepsi for independent testing.

The offices of Coca-Cola India and PepsiCo India were shut because of a national holiday and company officials could not be reached immediately for comment.

But the companies said last week in a joint statement that both "comply with stringent international norms and all applicable national regulations."

The Center for Science and Environment in New Delhi said it found pesticide residues in samples of Coke and Pepsi that were 24 times above the limits set by the Bureau of Indian Standards.

The center said it carried out tests on 57 samples taken from 11 soft drink brands made by Coca-Cola India and PepsiCo India and found a "cocktail of three to five different pesticides," all apparently present in water used to make the drinks.

The toxins could, if consumed over a long period, cause cancer, damage to the nervous system, birth defects and disruption of the immune system, the center said.

India's Supreme Court has since asked the two companies to disclose the contents of their soft drinks. Four Indian states - Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh - have already imposed a ban on sale of Coke and Pepsi at colleges, schools and government offices. Several other states have said they are examining the issue.

On Tuesday, PepsiCo placed advertisements with several Indian newspapers saying the company follows Indian government's regulations and the "pesticide residues present in soft drinks are minuscule."

Insisting that food items across the world are bound to contain residues of pesticides used by farmers, the company said what is important is whether the residues conform to norms set by the World Health Organization and other national authorities.

"Our beverages in India are suitable for anyone, anywhere," the statement said. "We drink them. We share them with our families and friends. And we know they are safe for you."

This is not the first time Coca-Cola and PepsiCo in India have faced charges of pesticide content in their soft drinks.

It's a good day for voters...and then are these guys: From WP
War Crimes Act Changes Would Reduce Threat Of Prosecution

U.S. officials have since responded in three ways: They have asked Congress to pass legislation blocking the prisoners' right to sue for the enforcement of those protections. They have drafted legislation allowing the consideration of intelligence-gathering needs during interrogations, in place of an absolute human rights standard.

They also formulated the War Crimes Act amendments spelling out some serious crimes and omitting altogether some that U.S. officials describe as less serious. For example, two acts considered under international law as constituting "outrages" -- rape and sexual abuse -- are listed as prosecutable.

But humiliations, degrading treatment and other acts specifically deemed as "outrages" by the international tribunal prosecuting war crimes in the former Yugoslavia -- such as placing prisoners in "inappropriate conditions of confinement," forcing them to urinate or defecate in their clothes, and merely threatening prisoners with "physical, mental, or sexual violence" -- would not be among the listed U.S. crimes, officials said.
------------------------------
I just don't get it-they spend more time trying to get around the laws than it would take to just follow them! I hope Kennedy's message got through loud and clear with the ABA.

Win for the wackadoo wing

Leftward, march! The sucking sound you heard from Connecticut last night was the air going out of the war on terror. At least among many Democrats.

The party's voters have spoken - and they are wrong to try to fire Joe Lieberman after three distinguished terms in the Senate. Now we know what a nutmeg really is. It has something to do with a nutty decision.

Don't buy the baloney that Lieberman lost his primary race because he had lost touch with his home base on a range of issues. Rich upstart Ned Lamont was all about Lieberman's support for the Iraq war and coziness with President Bush. That's what this election was about, period.

So now that the wackadoo wing of the party has a bloody scalp, what are they going to do with it? Wave it at Islamic terrorists in Iraq and Lebanon and Afghanistan and Indonesia and Great Britain and Spain and Israel and New York and declare peace? That will work for sure. They better also wear armor and duck.

Lieberman is the first casualty of the war against the war on terror. If last night's results are a window on the party's tilt, then a huge slice of the Democratic party is ready to sit out the war to protect America. God help us if the Republicans also get the wobblies. Let's hope the Connecticut Condition isn't contagious. And let's hope last night's decision is overturned.

Lieberman's decision to stay in the race as an independent is the right one. Given the close margin, all the state's voters deserve a chance to have their say. Perhaps they will fix what the Democrats broke.

That many Americans are disgusted with events in Iraq is understandable. Nothing has gone as planned or promised, a point Lieberman made with some regularity. But wars never go easily, and thus are always unpopular at some point.

Even "good" wars have their bad moments, causing otherwise sensible people to look for the exits.

That is happening across our nation with Iraq, which, given the lousy intelligence on weapons of mass destruction, never was a "good" war. Yet Iraq, in all its hellishness, is important, even vital to regional stability and American security. Unplug America's commitment there, which is what the Lamont crowd is about, and how exactly does that help us? Will the terrorists suddenly stop attacking us and our allies?

And does the price of peace also require us to abandon Israel and the moderate Arab governments who are our allies in fighting the terrorists? Indeed, there was a surreal quality to the television news last night: Stations cutting away from the Israeli-Hezbollah war to update the election results, and vice versa. Too bad no one thought to link them as two parts of one story, which is what they are.

Congressional Democratic leaders recently demanded that Bush begin withdrawing our troops this year, regardless of events in Iraq. They called it a "redeployment." When I said that redeployment was another word for retreat, a top party operative disagreed. He said, earnestly, that Dems favored keeping about 35,000 troops "in the region" as something like a police force. "We could go back into Iraq if we had to," he said.

This is fantasy. And that's what Lamont's victory is based on. That somehow we can pull out of Iraq, tell the terrorists they win - and we and our allies will not suffer any consequences. And if those Islamists misbehave, well, we'll just scoot back over there with our police force and arrest those naughty fellows.

I believe that Islamic terrorists will stop at nothing in their mad quest to rule the globe. As a result, World War III has started, whether we like it or not. It will continue, whether we fight back or not. But if we think we can win by not fighting, then we're not just wrong. We're nuts. As in nutmeg.

Yes, I am aware of that. But, the majority of that state is Democrats. And I bet the majority of people who voted for Lieberman are the baby boomers who just staunched Democrats. Democrats no matter what. But, what I am getting at is the 48% who voted for Lieberman as Democrats will have dilemma on whether they are going to vote for Lieberman as a Independent whether they switch to the party on paper or not. He is taking a huge risk to assume that those same 48% of the voters will follow him! IMHO that 48% of the people who be slice like pie. Manu of them may join Lamont becuase he is a Democrat or simply they like his policies. Some of the other voters may go with Lieberman and others may go with the GOP opponent. But, the bottom line, it doesn't matter on a piece of paper what that person's party affiliate. Many people in Connecticut are simply angry about the direction of the Iraq war and the deaths of the troops and other major issues. And some of the people that voted in Connecticut commute to NY to work. So, there is a lot of talk of the Iraq war and the Connecticut race from both NY and CT!

Folks,

Check out this article. I did see this press conference with Shug and the Gerbil. All I can say to the journalist who wrote the article is ditto and have that drink on me! Cheers!

Worst Press Conference Ever

DID THE GERBIL LEAVE HIS BRAINS IN THE CLOSET ABOUT UNERSTANDING HIS OWN FOREIGN POLICY?

Bush's remarks yesterday, from his vacation ranch in Crawford, Texas, with Rice at his side, raise once more the question of whether he believes the things he says—whether he's really so clueless about the world that his actions so deeply affect.

Then Bush made a statement that curiously veered off script: "People understand that there needs to be a cessation of hostilities in order for us to address the root causes of the problem." This contradicted Rice's mantra of the last two weeks—that there should be no cessation until these root causes are addressed. Did he understand what he was saying? Everybody skipped over it in any case.

Another reporter asked why Bush was refusing to talk with Syria. The president's answer here was a head-scratcher:
We have been in touch with Syria. Colin Powell sent a message to Syria in person. Dick Armitage talked to Syria. Bill Burns talked to Syria. … Syria knows what we think. … The problem is that their response hasn't been very positive.
No, Bush has not sent Colin Powell as an envoy to Syria in recent days (though that's what he seemed to be saying). He was referring to a trip that then-Secretary of State Powell took to the Middle East in 2003. And, by the way, Syria's response wasn't entirely negative back then. Ariel Sharon, then Israel's prime minister, had asked Powell to get Syrian President Bashar Assad to crack down on Hezbollah—and Assad did, for a short while anyway.

Connecticut Post

Truth on Lieberman's voting record
PETER URBAN purban@ctpost.com

WASHINGTON — Since winning re-election in 2000, U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman has been a more dependable Democratic vote than during his two prior terms.

When Democrats and Republicans disagreed, Lieberman voted 90.5 percent of the time with his colleagues in roll call votes cast during his third term.

He sided with the majority of Democrats over Republicans only 78.9 percent of the time over the previous 10 years.

The 11.6 percentage point swing belies assertions by his critics — including Ned Lamont, his challenger in the Aug. 8 Democratic primary — that Lieberman has moved away from the Democratic mainstream.

"I think that attack is the big lie of the campaign," said lobbyist Michael Lewan, who served as Lieberman's chief of staff from 1989 to 1993. "On a whole range of labor, social and cultural issues, he and Senator Dodd are in the same place," Lewan said. "I guarantee you, Joe is more progressive than Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid."

Casting aside the votes in which the majority of Democrats and Republicans agreed, Lieberman stood with Democrats on 2,369 of 2,871 roll call votes, or 82.5 percent. Dodd voted 90.9 percent of the time with the Democratic majority during the same period.

But Lieberman's record shifted over time to support Democrats more often in his third term than he had in the previous decade.

Since winning re-election in 2000, Lieberman has sided with Democrats over Republicans on 813 of 898 roll call votes where the parties disagreed, or 90.5 percent. From 1991 through 2000, Lieberman sided with Democrats on 1,556 of 1,973 votes, or 78.9 percent. Lieberman and Dodd voted the same way on 2,460 of the 2,871 contested roll call votes — or 85.7 percent of the time. The two shared similar views on almost all the "key votes" that the National Journal identified in the 108th Congress. On those dozen votes, they separated on a single issue — restricting deployment of the Bush administration's missile defense system. Lieberman was for it, Dodd opposed.

RE: Karzai stepping down

He really hasn't been able to actually leave Kabul since "we" made him into the President of Afghanistan. He isn't the actual President of the whole region since it isn't safe for anyone including him to travel in Afghanistan beyond Kabul.

Another White House appointment - amazing he hasn't been killed by now.

When are we going to STOP and realize that appointing someone as PRESIDENT doesn't make it true?

Lickerman changed when he realized he was in BIG trouble with HIS constituents (as proven by his loss yesterday). The people of CT do NOT want him - he needs to get over himself. If you actually read the source posted, it says his previous record over 10 years was NOT the same as recently.

"Hacking" Update: FBI Doesn't Like Liars

Importantly, Straretz noted that if Lieberman "hacking" charges prove false, the FBI and federal prosecutors could pursue charges against those who reported them. "If it was fabricated and you could prove intent, there's Title 18, Section 1001, which is providing false statements to an FBI agent. That can be prosecuted at the discretion of the U.S. Attorney's Office."

And This Lickerman is a goodie:

http://firedoglake.blogspot.com/2006/03/lieberman-distorts-his-record.html

which contains this phrase:
Yeah and if you go back to 1977 Joe never voted to authorize the war in Iraq, either. The fact is that Joe's 2005 NARAL voting record is 75%, and that doesn't even include his cloture votes on judges that put both both Roberts and Alito on the Supreme Court. Nor does it take into account his recent comments telling rape victims to get up off the gurney and leave Catholic hospitals in order to get emergency contraception (which the hospitals will not even tell them they need). NARAL may not be willing to speak out against Holy Joe but to imply that they are 95% happy with his record is 100% bullshit.

So I guess it's no surprise that Lieberman feels he's got to distort his record to boost his credibility with his constituents. I noticed this in the National Journal today (subscription):
For his part, Lieberman is taking his first-ever primary challenge seriously. His campaign Web site prominently features his lifetime voting records from such left-leaning groups as the AFL-CIO (82 percent), NARAL (95 percent), the Human Rights Campaign (90 percent) and the League of Conservation Voters (88 percent), which has already endorsed him.

DICK MORRIS: JOE WILL RISE AGAIN
Wed Aug 09 2006 09:15:38 ET

August 9, 2006 -- Reports of Joe Lieberman's political death are (as Mark Twain once said of rumors of his own demise) "premature and grossly exaggerated." Lieberman has lost a battle, but he can still win the war running as an independent.

While Ned Lamont will clearly have a bounce after yesterday's primary victory, the Rasmussen Poll of July 20 showed Lieberman and Lamont tied at 40 percent each in the general election (with scandal-plagued GOP nominee Alan Schlesinger at 13 percent).

Those who would consign Lieberman to the dustbin of history need to realize that the Democratic primary in Connecticut is an affair that could be conducted in a good-sized phone booth. About 140,000 people voted for Lamont. But the state saw 1,575,000 votes cast in the general election of 2004. Assume a lower turnout in 2006 (an off year), say 1 million votes, that still leaves 860,000 that can vote for Lieberman.

The Connecticut incumbent can, of course, count on the roughly 130,000 who backed him yesterday (aside from a few party regulars who might find it necessary to fall into line and endorse the nominee).

Then, with the Republican plagued by reports of huge gambling debts, Lieberman will strongly attract independent and GOP voters, plus moderate Democrats who weren't energized enough by the Lamont challenge to vote in the primaries.

In the general election, Lieberman can paint Lamont (a former client of mine) as the rich, light-weight dilettante he is (heir to the fortune of J.P. Morgan's partner) and can focus on the broad range of his legislative agenda. After all, Lieberman has taken the lead on issues ranging from campaign-finance reform to tobacco regulation to corporate-governance reform to tough action against terrorism to the battle against global warming. He'll look better and better, while Lamont will look like a one-issue challenger who is out of his league.

Freed of the confines of the Democratic primary, Lieberman can now appeal to independents, Republicans and mainstream Democrats who were not sufficiently motivated to participate in the primary, he can win.

The Department of Justice is set to arraign today 3 former executives of the software firm Comverse Technology, RAW STORY has learned.
Authorities from the DOJ and Securities and Exchange Commission are set to announce at a 1:30 press conference that the three men--Former CEO Kobi Alexander, CFO David Kreinberg and senior counsel William Sorin--conspired to profit by backdating stock options.

It alleges a 14-year span of corruption and fraud, resulting in at least $138 million in profit for Alexander alone. $6.4 million of that total is attributed by authorities to the backdating.
The company recently announced it is preparing to restate five years' worth of earnings.

And before you stop slapping Lamont around for being rich (jealous???) - let's discuss Lickerman's wife shall we? Old Holy Joe will not be able to slide that one by. Not with Hadassa by his side.

Voters do NOT appreciate it when losers challenge their decisions.

Lickerman is a whiny ass jerk and he needs to shut up, go away and open an office on K St for his rich wife.

By the way, just because Dick Morris says so, doesn't mean it will happen. People who vote seriously, do not like to be minimized.

The White House might help Lieberman by putting the kibosh on any move to replace the weak Republican candidate, Alan Schlesinger, with a stronger candidate.
And it might be able to convince Schlesinger to drop out of the race and endorse Lieberman in the final week or two, when it's too late for another candidate to fill the GOP slot. A quiet White House effort to steer some money in Lieberman's direction is another possibility.
This is a tricky dance for Lieberman. He needs to figure out a way to get the benefits of Bush support -- some votes from loyal Republicans -- without turning off the independents and moderate Democrats he needs to win. The safest course may be a polite "thanks but no thanks" to the White House offer.

Roger- Sarah, I read your links last night, couldn't post until now as I am fighting the decaderma pest in skin. Coming closer to finding a cure that is more effective. Yes, crazy scientist experiments on self to find cure for itchy skin, "adult acne" and "hair loss" in patches. Now I have an afro.
Roger, I took a long time to think about these people, even tho my family was illuminatae (I won't spell it their way) in 1600 Bern - the first three families, also pacifists. I think these evil souls have been screwing up the meaning and integrity of the true meaning of some of what they claim to be. What they should claim is that, after reading carefully, they are practitioners of black magic-wicce witchcraft. The only thing they don't have on there side is the knowledge and the truth of white magic. The druidic wiccan creed is "do what thou wilt but harm none". The point is HARM NONE. Thru brainwashing or physical, as a child I wasn't allowed to punch back at kids in gradeschool that hit me. It teaches one the type of spirituality that Jesus and other greats practiced and had hope for in this world. They (we) know the true meaning of the Light. Those who have died and come back from the hall of light or had prayed so hard in their own sorrow as to invoke it (Jesus) will NEVER forget it's purity, beauty, and comfort no man, addiction,or religion can copy. When I was "touched" by Him and had a concious contact, all He promised was "everything was going to be okay." In later concious contact it was "heaven will be created on earth". And there will be birth pangs, so I want, like others who believe, the "one" true enough to guide us thru. Even far from perfect, yes thou reincarnated, yes and the good witch, a christian, and one who has had premonitions, a mystic's life but humble (or be humbled)I know in that way of knowing who needs to pull us thru-yes fitzgerald it is you. With no doubts in your (his) capabilities, I just have a nagging fear that others will not recognize you as for your purpose, and I feel the pressure guide him (if needed) to the absolute case and the absolute indictment to make all witness to the truth, so he can lead us in comfort through the birth pangs of heaven on earth coming. Sorry to say, but Jesus will not rise again, but his spirit will rise again in giving all of us the abilities to have psychic communion, healing powers, and the Light He brings that makes us not need drugs, violence, or worship of black powers. I wouldn't feel so strongly about Fitzgeralds need to succeed if I wasn't positive that Fitzgerald is needed to lead us in order to have the Light of heaven on earth felt by all of us. It's been years for me. I'm human, Roger, I become aggravated and fearful and have "tempertantrumposts". One thing I can humanly do because I sense a connection, is to question the other families of the Midwest Drowning Coincidences in hope of finding a correlation. A little good magic never hurts. Wes Clark on "Being Strong on National Security"
by kos
Wed Aug 09, 2006 at 11:13:54 AM PDT
Wesley Clark came out strongly for Ned Lamont today, but it's this passage that particularly caught my attention:

You see, despite what Joe Lieberman believes, invading Iraq and diverting our attention away from Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden is not being strong on national security. Blind allegiance to George W. Bush and his failed "stay the course" strategy is not being strong on national security. And no, Senator Lieberman, no matter how you demonize your opponents, there is no "antisecurity wing" of the Democratic Party.

Well said. That's the Democratic message on National Security this year, and it works. That's why Republicans are freaking out.

Tony Snow: A Vote For Lamont Is A Vote For Another 9/11

And:

GOP must raise the minimum wage or look for new work

The arrogance stems from a deep-seated conviction that state-by-state gerrymandering has made it impossible for the Republican Party to lose the majority in the House. The stupidity is demonstrated by their refusal to take the two steps that could give their beleaguered members some kind of political cover as they run for reelection: lobbying reform and a minimum-wage increase.
But the arrogance is misplaced. The Republicans can, indeed, lose the House.

And my battle cry for Congress still stands: Someone should change their salaries to 5.15 per hour, no benefits, no increases, give each one of them a tin cup to get spare change for more money and the bus!

"Republicans lose a lot of political battles because they come off as hard-edged, scolding, scowling, and sanctimonious. A good rule of thumb is to be just the opposite. You must convince people you care about them before they will care about what you have to say. When you speak, don't forget that a soundbite is all you have...keep it short-a slogan is always better. Repeat it often. Put it on television....In politics, television is reality."

By embracing the art of the soundbite and the rules of modern televised politics, Horowitz unwittingly exposes one of the themes of his politics: contempt for democracy. He does not want to have an informed electorate. He understands that television has truncated the information voters get, and this is fine with him.

Horowitz calls on Republicans to emulate his former hero Lenin, and "not to refute your opponent's argument, but to wipe him from the face of the earth." Horowitz's politics have remained the same from left to right: politics is war by other means. In the American arena, the battlefield is television and soundbites. You've got to instantly summarize, and sloganeer. You must be as ruthless as a young communist.

home remedy

neosporen -powdered comphrey

squeeze a two inch ribbon of neosporen out on wax paper
1/16 tsp pwd comphrey
mix together with a butter knife rub on itchy area
should heal it.

this will heal just about any sore.

also might want to try this
Subject: Peroxide - interesting

Most of us have used this product for years for certain things. Here are some more things: The health benefits of peroxide, written by Becky Ransey of Indiana "I would like to tell you of the benefits of that plain little ole bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, and most doctors don't tell you about peroxide, or they would lose thousands of dollars.

1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe ) No more canker sores and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash

2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of germs.

3. Clean your counters, table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.

4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.

5. I had fungus on my feet for years - until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.

6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine, but was healed by soaking in peroxide.

8. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will.

9. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes then blow your nose into tissue.

10. If you have a terrible toothache and can not get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.

11. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages, but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, faddish, or dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually so it's not a drastic change.

12. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections.

13. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

14. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors with, there is no smearing, which is why I love it so much for this. I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without! With prices of most necessities rising, I'm glad there's a way to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner!"

This is Bush's "brain" on drugs:

Scripps Howard columnist Ann McFeatters writes: "To Bush, being president means never having to say he's sorry. To tell him he might be wrong or bring him bad news or cause dissonance in his serene world is to antagonize him and be thought disloyal.

"It's now well acknowledged that Bush is happy in his bubble of self-imposed isolation. He meets with foreigners but without true give-and-take even in crisis conversations. Foreigners visit the White House as they used to go on bended knee to ancient Rome. Bush travels but sees few real people. All is scripted. He talks with advisers but rarely interacts with members of Congress, even senior Republicans.

"He seems to care nothing about winning hearts and minds in other countries. Foreign leaders say he lectures but does not listen. He does not have the long telephone conversations late at night that former President Clinton loved to keep him in touch with what others were thinking. He seems indifferent to what experts think."

Why now? Why not always? What has been happening in the last two hundred years and more since the settlers first came here.........

United We Stand.....

It was the government, not you or I, that on every form you have to check black, white, red, yellow which are the original four races. But now it is white not Hispanic, black not Hispanic, Hispanic...since when is Hispanic a race and where is this country Hispanic? There's forms that take it even farther.

United We Stand...yet from the beginning of time they have been separating us for their convenience

Where was United We Stand in Minnesota three years ago while Native
Americans were getting beaten and the media put a block on it.

Where was United We Stand two years ago at the Pine Ridge Reservation when a hand full were fighting for their rights.

United We Stand....

Where was it when each day in court criminals go free because important evidence is not admissible or when people who are innocent go to jail as in the case in Bakers Field, California in the eighties, when over 30 people were jailed for something they did not do because of the rambling of a crazy woman? Many cases have been over turned and the innocent let out but they lost their homes and their children's childhood because of the way it was handled

United We Stand....

Where is it when a black man, or any minority, goes through a white neighborhood and gets stopped and harassed and sometimes jailed and beaten

You see this frenzy that Bush is starting will not be fought in foreign lands but in your own back yard by ghosts. And it won't be the sons of the rich and famous or the politicians who will give their lives, but the minorities and the poor. That is how we stand United. It is very easy for these people to scream war sitting comfortably in their living rooms watching TV. Let them put on desert fatigues and go into Afghanistan.

Since Bush has been put into office he has stopped aid to anything that had helped or researched for HIV or Aids and anything with birth control because it his personal choice. Are we to live our lives as he wishes or are we free men and women to decide on our own

He insulted China not once but twice to start problems.

He let the oil cartel raise gas prices to pay back the money they gave to his campaign, and we all paid for that. And he is allowing future plans for drilling in Alaska in parts that are have not been touched by civilization and should remain so. He is taking advantage and is hiding it with other propositions so if you vote against it you are unpatriotic.

He embarrassed America as a country at the meeting of all countries trying to decide how to save the ecology when he insulted them and walked out.

He stands for BIG BUSINESS not for the people

At his own alma mater when he was asked to speak at the graduating class after he took office, he was booed off the stage and many students turned their backs on him. Now you ask me to stand by a man who from the start, if you opened your eyes you would see, has been in many ways trying to make a name for himself. He wants to be a president that will be remembered, no matter the cost.

So no, I will not stand united; not behind a war monger. Because I see things for what they are. I am not a sheep. I stand for my rights and if you think that in any way this country is free, you better think again. Because your illustrious leader now under the cloak of protecting us, has taken the first steps toward Marxism and if you think it wasn't there all ready, think again. You see now is the beginning of the new world order. They can now legally tap your phones, search your homes and basically do anything they want under the pretense of protecting us. Remember the red scare? This will be worse.

United We Stand............

Lets stand united as free thinkers and not be brought down not only by terrorism but by politicians and BIG BUSINESS ........ who care only of the all mighty dollar.

We all have heard of carburetors that get a hundred miles to the gallon or alternative engines that run on clean energy. Yet the oil cartel stops it from being manufactured because they will lose money.

Each year toxins are being dumped in the ocean because it is cheaper for BIG BUSINESS to get rid of their waste. And no one cares of the pollution.

We hear of the rain forest being demolished but no one does anything about it BIG BUSINESS doesn't care that they are taking down the trees that give us the air we breath.

And now war a war that is not even ours to fight has been brought to our homes our children did we all forget Vietnam and how many lives that destroyed.

UNITED WE STAND..........

It's time open up your eyes before it is to late don't be sheep it's time to stop destroying the very earth that gives us life.........It's time to stop BIG BUSINESS from destroying our surroundings...........It's time to stand United against a government that does not care about it's people and is headed towards disaster.

UNITED WE STAND...........

See what it really means and do it for the good of all and not for the good of one man who wants to be remembered.

Folks,

I had to pass this along from America Blog. This Democratic strategist nailed this! Cheers!

Veteran Democratic strategist says Lamont should challenge Lieberman and Bush to a debate
by John in DC - 8/09/2006 08:07:00 PM

I had an email exchange today with a veteran Democratic strategist who offered some free advice to Ned Lamont that I just had to share. I don't share private communications, but was told I could quote this one paragraph:
ABC News' George Stephanopoulos is reporting that Rove called Joe Lieberman and said Bush is willing to do anything he can to support him. Lamont needs to jump all over this. He ought to call on Joe to bring Bush to Connecticut. He ought to challenge Bush and Joe to a three-way debate. He ought to ask Joe to bring Rummy and Cheney and Condi as well -- Ned can offer to take them to the homes of moms and dads whose boys died because of their incompetence; to hospitals where better, braver men than Bush and Joe are recovering from horrific wounds because of the dishonesty and ineptitude of Bush and Co. He ought to be on Bush like white on rice, like stink on shit, like ugly on an ape.

Ned?

GOP party chair Ken Mehlman refuses to endorse Republican Senate candidate

http://americablog.blogspot.com/

Here is my theory:

Now that Lickerman lost. I think that strategy by Lickerman and the Gerbil is:

a. Have Lickerman run as an Independent
b. Gerbil and company back Lickerman financially.
c. GOP not endorse the GOP candidate for Senate.
d. Force the GOP candidate to bail out which leaves Lamont and Lickerman as the only candidates.
e. GOP try to get the GOP and Independent to voter to vote for Lickerman.

Sound like a great plan for Lickerman and the Gerbil but the Connecticut voters are hipped to the Lickerman/Gerbil strategy and bullshit!

This just goes to show that money is more important to these people than their so called "moral values".

Here are some comments that I saw from bloggers on that site. LMAO!

"I wished his momma had taken the morning after pill. Then we wouldn't be dealing with this pinhead".

"stump has more personality than George Allen."

"Just goes to show that these hypocrites we call senators and representatives only have one master, the corporate dollar."

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0608/09/sitroom.02.html

BLITZER: We're going to continue what's happening along the border between Israel and Lebanon. Breaking news we're reporting on. Major Israeli assault on Hezbollah targets. We'll go back there live shortly.

Amidst all of this death and destruction and devastation, there's this story that's unfolding here in Jerusalem. Does the bible foretell this war here in the Middle East? One American evangelist thinks so. He's flew here to Israel to meet with the Israeli prime minister, Ehud Olmert, and to talk about the crisis.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

BLITZER: Reverend Robertson, thanks very much for spending a few moments with us.

PAT ROBERTSON, RELIGIOUS BROADCASTER: Sure, Wolf.

BLITZER: It's unusual meeting you here in Jerusalem.

ROBERTSON: It is.

BLITZER: But why did you decide to come at this very sensitive moment to Israel?

ROBERTSON: Wolf, I love Israel. And I wanted to let the Jewish people and people of Israel know that I stood with them.

And I wasn't afraid. I did my show from Metulla. I was up where the Katyushas were falling. And I wanted to let them know that the evangelicals of America love them and we're supporting in this struggle.

BLITZER: I know you've had a chance to meet with the prime minister of Israel...

ROBERTSON: Yes.

BLITZER: ... on this, a day when the Israeli cabinet has made a major decision.

Give our viewers a sense of how your meeting with the prime minister went, what he said to you.

ROBERTSON: Well, I said -- I quoted from Shakespeare. I said, "Some men are born great and others have greatness thrust upon them, and you have come out great. I am so proud of you," of the strength that he's shown.

And he was so calm and relaxed. I said, "You decided now to go fully engaged into this?" He said, "We're going to do it. We're going to move."

And then he also spoke about Nasrallah. He doesn't particularly like him. He said, "He wants to find 72 virgins and we're going to help him."

I said, "Do you know where he is?" He said, "If I know where he was within a few seconds he wouldn't be there."

So he said, basically, he's -- this man is evil and he's going to target him.

BLITZER: Were you impressed by the determination -- this is now entering the second month of this war and clearly things have not necessarily gone as well for the Israelis as they would have hoped for.

PAT ROBERTSON, RELIGIOUS BROADCASTER: Wolf, I was so impressed with the calm nature of the prime minister. You know he showed me a picture of Auschwitz that gate going in and three Israeli jets flying overhead. It was so moving.

We talked about the Oslo Accords and really what a mistake it was to deal with Yasser Arafat. I think he gets it. But he gets it in such a calm fashion. He wasn't rattled, he wasn't frantic. He had this calm peace about him and the determination that he was going to see this thing through to victory.

BLITZER: Now this is a man, Ehud Olmert that you've met with on many earlier occasions.

ROBERTSON: Yes.

BLITZER: A lot of people out there don't understand the relationship between the evangelical community in the United States, religious Christians and Israel. Talk a little bit about the religious aspect of what motivated you to come here now.

ROBERTSON: Well, this is what is so deep. It isn't that this is one more democracy, this isn't some floating battle, I mean permanent battleship in the Mediterranean and all of that thing. We believe firmly that the Jewish people are the people of God. We believe that this nation is the nation of destiny and that somehow we are inextricably linked with the destiny of Israel.

I was taught when I was a little child by my mother the words of God of Abraham, blessed are those that bless you and cursed are those that curse you. And she always said you must bless the Jewish people. And from a little boy I learned that. So this is deep in the DNA if you will of the evangelicals of America.

BLITZER: But is there the whole apocalypse, the whole issue of that, the second coming of Christ. How does Israel and the destruction of Israel fit into that, because you've spoken about that over the years?

ROBERTSON: Well, my feeling is, is that God is going to defend this country and maybe the next thing down the road, if you read the Prophet Ezekiel, the 38th chapter, it is very amazing where he foretells of time when Israel will be under attack by Russia, Iran, Libya and Sudan. And he leaves out Saudi Arabia, he leaves out Jordan. It's remarkable, he leaves out Egypt.

But yet it's down there, when Israel has been gathered together from the nations of the earth and are living at peace in the land of Israel. But this talks of a great victory against the forces who would come against Israel. And the bible is full, the Old Testament, not the new, the old testament is full of references to God's protection for Israel and that's what we feel. We feel that God will fight for the Jewish people.

BLITZER: What about the innocent civilians who are dying in this war in Lebanon?

ROBERTSON: It always grieves me and grieves all of us to see war. But you know, in order to take Omaha Beach, the United States lost 8,000 men to take down Adolph Hitler. It costs to fight terrorism. It costs to fight for freedom. This is one of those thing and unfortunately, we're dealing with an enemy here that hides itself among the civilians, hides these Katyushas rockets in innocent villages, sometimes does not permit the villagers to leave their villages and makes them stay so they're targets.

That kind of thing is barbaric but that's what's being done and regrettably, if a civilian government like the government of Lebanon allows it to happen, then there will be collateral damage. But Israel I think is trying its best to restrain the amount of damage and to target strikes only on military targets.

BLITZER: You remember you caused quite a stir a few months ago when the former prime minister of Israel Ariel Sharon had a stroke. He remains in a coma even as we speak right now. And you suggested, but correct me if I'm wrong, that perhaps God was punishing Sharon for giving up Gaza.

ROBERTSON: You know I was misquoted on that Wolf. It happens and you don't have a chance to call it all back. If you read the tape, the transcript of what I actually said, I talked about my love of this man. I prayed with him, I met with him on a number of occasions. He had a luncheon here for me in my honor.

And I was just pointing out what the Prophet Joel had to say about this being God's land and God looks at it very seriously. And I said woe unto those who would under the pressure of the United States of the United Nations give up God's land. But I didn't say this was God's judgment on this man that I was very fond of. I was misquoted.

BLITZER: Did you raise the issue today with the prime minister additional Israeli withdrawals from the West Bank? Because as you know, he has in the past, in fact he ran on this notion that Israel should return, at least a big chunk of the West Bank to the Palestinians?

ROBERTSON: I drove down from Metula to Tel Aviv last night past the power stations and the other installations and I realized that if the West Bank was given over to Hamas, that there would be no place in Israel safe for any Israeli to live. They would be under the range of rockets, even short range rockets, it would be absolute hell on earth for Israel.

When the prime minister was talking to me, he said what a flawed treaty the Oslo Accords were. Well the Oslo Accords are what gave up a large portion of the territory to Yasser Arafat. And having said that, I didn't think it was necessary for me to guild the lily and get into this other. Because it seemed like he understands that he must protect these people and that's my belief. But did I get into it specifically? No, I didn't.

BLITZER: Do you return to the United States with, what is your major impression based on the days that you've been here?

ROBERTSON: Most of these people are resolute, they are steadfast in the midst of terror, a million refugees. I traveled around and you never know when death will rein on you out of the skies. I was in two instances where I had to seek shelter in an air raid shelter, a bomb shelter, because these Katyusha rockets were coming in.

Nobody knows where they're safe any place in northern Israel. So the fact that they're saying, go to victory, don't quit, don't stop, it's a resolution that I wish we could see a little of that in the United States of America. I'm very proud of Israel in this time of crisis.

BLITZER: Reverend Robertson, thanks very much.

ROBERTSON: Thank you.

BLITZER: And coming up, Hezbollah/Iran connection -- we're taking you live to Tehran, there's new information coming in right now. And how is Israel's battle against Hezbollah similar to the U.S. battle against insurgents in Iraq. Our Brian Todd reports on some of the stark similarities. Stay with us. You're in THE SITUATION ROOM.

Lieberman will get all the support he needs for his friends the GOP. Some think that behind the scenes the GOP might ask the Republican candidate to drop out so all the independents, Dems and Republicans can vote for Bush's friend Holy Joe. Joe Lieberman is now changing his position but the people of his state remember his support and of course the KISS to Bush. Let's see who else gets caught trying to lie their way out of the Bush curse.

Good Morning Justice Bloggers!

It's good to get back to the blog after a week away -- I had a busy week with a sick two year-old and a friend's mother dying...

I was so happy about Lamont's win!!! But we have so much more work to do until November...I need to send more money to my Senate candidate in Missouri...I hope I can find some time to help her campaign in other ways...

We will have to fight the bush-kisser to get him out of the race and his GOP supporters...boy, the desperate GOP spinsters are really trying to spin this one between bush-kisser and Lamont big-time...I hope all their Rovian (cut and run) BS blows up in their faces...

This is an exciting time for the Deomocratic Party to redefine themselves...the real BS is that the Repubs and MSM are trying to paint this as the fringe Lefties trying to take over the party -- haha -- I am an Independent and I'm a sh@t-load more fiscally conservative than Dumbya and his girlie Congress...

Everybody needs to keep blogging and sharing their views with everyone they come in contact with about this unfair, morally corrupt Iraq war and WH admin...

It's so good to be back here -- Good Morning Fitzie!!!
