Surprised...?

In 1992, Brent R. Wilkes rented a suite at the Hyatt Hotel a few blocks from the Capitol. In his briefcase was a stack of envelopes for a half-dozen congressmen, each packet containing up to $10,000 in checks. <more>

The system is rotten.

No not surprised but nice to know there are elected officials who teach a class of how to be a crook. Americans don't really react unless it hits their pocket or changes their way of life. People are still trying to justify Nixon's acts of criminal conduct. Bush has lie so much I can't keep up with the number yet Americans still defend him. Look at Libby's case. A doctor will say a person can have memory loss for what ever reason but can he tell the jurors what causes a man to lie or why a person just can't say I don't remember. Newt needs a job so he's support the GOP and Lieberman. Now the GOP is using religion and Lieberman being Jewish to get him votes. Never mind our troops are sitting ducks being picked off at will, no media out cry we just see Israel kill hundreds of people as Lebanon kills under 100. Israel attacked to save two soldiers and now so many soldiers are dead. The Hezbollah group seem to be holding strong yet hundreds of civilians die.
Have a nice day and pray for the world today.

Hello all fellow bloggers:

Well, today I have been thinking about all the corrupt people we have running this country.
If ever, in the history of this country, we need change, we need it now!!

We need to look at each and every candidate running for office this November. No, actually, we need to put each candidate under the microscope and seriously take a look at them. We need to look at who they are, what they represent, what they have done, what they can do and most importantly, are they QUALIFIED for the job?

If we don't do that and if we don't make the necessary changes, this country will continue on the same course, the wrong direction and the same wrong track. We need a new course with a new direction and a new track!

The citizens of America are deserving for better representation. We are deserving of qualified, good, honest, and trustworthy people to SERVE US. Thus far, this adminsitration has only served themselves!

Enough already! Let's all vote in November and make the changes that we deserve!

Thank you all for your efforts and the support of your country! I am very proud to blog with such caring citizens! :)

Hello folks!

Let's see.. The topic is Brent "Boom Shakalaka" Wilkes! Hmmm.."a stack of envelopes for a half-dozen congressmen, each packet containing up to $10,000 in checks." Well, they weren't money for the collection plate for church! To remind folks, who Wilkes is:

Brent Wilkes, owner of the defense contracting firm ACDS, Inc., bribed Duke Cunningham, according to Cunningham's plea, where he appeared as "Coconspirator #1". Wilkes has not been charged, but is currently under investigation by a grand jury.

It is only a matter of time when Wilkes is indicted. Wilkes will squeal on Dusty Foggo. And Foggo will squeal on Porter Goss.... And the question is what are the names of the Congressmen who were getting the 10 grand????

SPB:
And, how many Congressmen received that money? But, most importantly what did they do in return for the money? How many laws and/or contracts were based upon receiving that money?

"The Cunningham scandal set off alarms about the proliferation of Congressional earmarks — money for pet projects inserted anonymously in spending bills — which critics say pervert public policy, encourage cronyism and waste federal money. The 12,000 earmarks in this year’s spending bills amount to $64 billion."

$64 BILLION!!!!!

"Federal money" is OUR money and it should benefit the taxpayers!!

S-Q,

The persons that can give the answers to how many Congressmen are involved in the Hookergate scandal are the three co-conspirators: Dusty Foggo, Brent Wilkes, and Mitchell Wade. Once they are indicted, you will hear certain Congressmen's finance being investigated.. But, rest assured, those envelopes and money that Wilkes had in the hotel are the ones in hot water in the Hookergate scandal...

S-Q,

Forgot to add about Mitchell Wade.
A Status Conference is scheduled for August 21st for Wade. He faces up to 11 years and 3 months incarceration.

Hmmm.

Interesting articles:

From Americablog:

Mehlman launches the GOP terror campaign

The GOP has nothing to run on this year, so they'll need to play the fear card -- again:
Amid low approval ratings for President Bush and diminishing support for the Iraq war, Mehlman's speech at the RNC's summer meeting echoed a theme voiced by White House adviser Karl Rove in January: that Republicans should make terrorism a central campaign issue in the fall campaigns and argue that Democrats hold a pre-Sept. 11 view of the world.

Mehlman said that if the Democrats win control of Congress in the Nov. 7 midterm elections, party leaders will stop the National Security Agency from eavesdropping on foreign terrorists and will pursue impeachment of the president.

From Crooks and Liars:

Lieberman on THIS WEEK: Iraq is better and Worse

Lieberman was also interviewed on THIS WEEK. He smiles when he’s asked by George Stephanapolous about his decision to split from the party and run as an Indi if he loses the primary. Like it’s some big joke. Since Lieberman is making Iraq the only issue that CT voters seem to upset by, then his response to Stephanapolous on Iraq sounded exactly as if George W. Bush were answering it for him. He can’t run away from that.

Lieberman: It is better now…it, it, it’s better and worse if you’ll allow me to put it that way.

Yup, Lickerman's speech sounds as if President Bush-shit fed him that crapola!

Roger,

from the moment dr. blass and the neocons had George Bush elected fraudulently, this country has gone completely off its rocker.

as far as I'm concerned the entire misadventure since 1998 has been one, horrible nightmare the world must wake up from.

the fascist pricks who brought their worldwide zionism everywhere, or the neocons need to be held to account.

i'm afraid this country will never be good again, unless every neocon is prosecuted. and then somebody looks at the reasons we let them scam everyone, including creating the federal reserve so we were their slaves.

I will never serve any bunch of lunatics or waite on their hand and foot, like they expect in the talmud.

it is disgraceful, and all my friends think so. these traitorous idiots are going to burn in hell

RR, Do you know this to be true?

Israel has its own radar warning system and has created a vast Home Front Command to prepare citizens and medical services for potential attacks.

U.S. military has plugged Israel into real-time war monitoring in the war on Iraq. Israel and the United States have set up a joint command post next to the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv at which Israeli army officers will be able to view real-time pictures of the movements of American war planes over Iraq in the event of a war.
In addition, an American early warning system that is hooked directly into U.S. intelligence satellites over Iraq was transferred to Israel a few weeks ago, [February, 2003] giving Israel direct access to information on any Iraqi missile launches at its territory, with no delays and no filtering.
This War Is Also About Water - Israel needs new water sources to allow Israeli expansion plans. Iraq is the major source of water in the Middle East. Just as the war in Afghanistan was fought for the Unocal oil pipeline this war is being fought for oil and water pipelines to Israel.

Israel is now conducting assassinations of American citizens on American soil under the guise of "fighting terrorism" with the blessings of the US Government.

Holy Joe Liebermen will definitely lose come Tuesday! Can't stand Joe. And that kiss with Lieberman and Bush really sicken me. His political career is finished. He might as well as apply for Walmart as one of the senior greeter: "Welcome to Walmart!"

And Harris. She is a bitch! And her career is definitely finished. She spread her legs too much for the GOP and it got her no where! And I too look for an indictment!

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Oil company BP has indefinitely shut down the nation's biggest oilfield after finding a pipeline leak, removing about 8 percent of U.S. oil production and stoking fears that already high gas prices will shoot up further.

Steve Marshall, president of BP Exploration Alaska Inc., said Sunday night that the eastern side of Prudhoe Bay would be shut down first, an operation anticipated to take 24 to 36 hours. The company will then move to shut down the west side, a move that could close more than 1,000 Prudhoe Bay wells.

Once the field is shut down, BP said oil production will be reduced by 400,000 barrels a day. That's close to 8 percent of U.S. oil production or about 2.6 percent of U.S. supply including imports, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

BP officials said they didn't know how long the Prudhoe Bay field would be off line. "I don't even know how long it's going to take to shut it down," said Tom Williams, BP's senior tax and royalty counsel.

The shutdown comes at an already worrisome time for the oil industry, with supply concerns stemming both from the hurricane season and instability in the Middle East.

A 400,000-barrel per day reduction in output would have a major impact on oil prices, said Tetsu Emori, chief commodities strategist at Mitsui Bussan Futures in Tokyo. A barrel contains 42 gallons of crude oil.

"Oil prices could increase by as much as $10 per barrel given the current environment," Emori said. "But we can't really say for sure how big an effect this is going to have until we have more exact figures about how much production is going to be reduced."

Look closely at BP and look closely at the House Of Windsor even. Think about it when you fill up. Get curious at least and find out.
