Grover sounds like a thug.
(snip)------

To guarantee that business marches in lockstep with Bush and the Congressional GOP not just on taxes but also on other issues important to the Administration, Norquist is touting what he calls his "K Street Project," aimed at ferreting out Democrats who work as lobbyists and replacing them with litmus-test Republicans. "Democrats in Congress retire to universities," he says. "K Street is where Republicans go to retire." Norquist plans to wave around town his list of untrustworthy Democratic lobbyists in the hope that corporate CEOs will feel compelled to revamp their K Street offices rather than risk the GOP's ire.

Afghan Leader Losing Support

"KABUL, Afghanistan, June 25 - Many Afghans and some foreign supporters say they are losing faith in President Hamid Karzai's government, which is besieged by an escalating insurgency and endemic corruption and is unable to protect or administer large areas of the country.

As a sense of insecurity spreads, a rift is growing between the president and some of the foreign civilian and military establishments whose money and firepower have helped rebuild and defend the country for nearly five years. While the U.S. commitment to Karzai appears solid, several European governments are expressing serious concerns about his leadership."

Fitz was right follow the money and you'll get all the answers. More names and actions will come out. Looking forward to Duke Cunningham's list of evildoers. Has anyone heard from Porter Goss?
Now the cut/run policy is in effect not because Bush/GOP didn't want to stay the course but we arrested an Iraq religious leader. Someone gave us bad information, isn't that been happen since we illegally invaded Iraq. Look for more of the fall out of Cheney spying on overseas businesses for his personal use. Now that's going to go big with overseas investors. The US has laws that protect privacy yet Cheney secretly has been easdropping on investors and yes he made be doing some takeovers or whatever he wants.

Looks to me like the prosecutors should pursue a "Klein Conspiracy" investigation against Grover and the rest of the Abramoff crowd. Not to mention an investigation focusing on a few other possible tax-related crimes. Of course, Grover and others are presumed innocent until proven guilty. But a criminal investigation sure seems warranted.

WASHINGTON (CREATORS) -- Awash as we are in the cranky appraisals of our war in Iraq and the congressional projects to end it summarily, we have every reason to conclude that for some Americans a real war is not nearly as amusing as one produced in Hollywood. A real war is a lot more difficult to script than a war headed for the silver screen. Inopportune events take place. Even uncovenanted happenings occur. During World War II more than 14,000 American POWs died in German and Japanese hands. President Franklin Roosevelt had not anticipated such brutal treatment. Other unanticipated enormities took place, for instance, the dithering in the hedgerows of France after the D-Day landings. Still, no congressional investigations were convened to distract our leaders from bringing the war to a diplomatically viable conclusion.

Were Sen. Joseph Biden in the Senate during that ghastly war, I wonder how many of President Roosevelt's cabinet members the senator from Delaware would have fallen on? How many times would he demand the resignation of Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson? How many congressional inquiries would the congressional minority have insisted on after atrocities were discovered, logistics bungled or battles lost? Surely the bombings of German cities were controversial. Would these bombings be called atrocities by a 1944 version of Sen. John Kerry? In fact during World War II the Allies suffered many controversies and setbacks. Yet the criticisms and recriminations were almost nonexistent in the Congress, and even the press was quiet. Revelations that might have comforted our enemies were downplayed even after the war.

Christy's great question about Karl:

Because I have absolutely no desire to hit the cocktail weenie circuit — and because this is a question that has been bugging the crap out of me for the last five years — I’m going to ask it: why are my tax dollars paying Karl Rove’s salary for his butt to park itself in the public space of the West Wing of the White House, but work on Republican political campaigns across the country?

Why is that? What good is Karl doing for Americans on their dime?

As every political junky in the country now knows, just before finding himself not indicted by Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, Karl Rove went to a fundraiser in New Hampshire and launched the Republican campaign for the 2006 midterm elections. By DEVLIN BARRETT
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON

The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee urged the Bush administration on Sunday to seek criminal charges against newspapers that reported on a secret financial-monitoring program used to trace terrorists.

Rep. Peter King cited The New York Times in particular for publishing a story last week that the Treasury Department was working with the CIA to examine messages within a massive international database of money-transfer records.

King, R-N.Y., said he would write Attorney General Alberto Gonzales urging that the nation's chief law enforcer "begin an investigation and prosecution of The New York Times _ the reporters, the editors and the publisher."

"We're at war, and for the Times to release information about secret operations and methods is treasonous," King told The Associated Press.

A message left Sunday with Times spokeswoman Catherine Mathis was not immediately returned.

King's action was not endorsed by the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, GOP Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania.

"On the basis of the newspaper article, I think it's premature to call for a prosecution of the New York Times, just like I think it's premature to say that the administration is entirely correct," Specter told "Fox News Sunday."

Stories about the money-monitoring program also appeared last week in The Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times. King said he thought investigators should examine those publications, but that the greater focus should be on The New York Times because the paper in December also disclosed a secret domestic wiretapping program.

He charged that the paper was "more concerned about a left-wing elitist agenda than it is about the security of the American people."

Iran plans to ration gasoline.

Officials said Iran, hampered by a shortfall in funding, would halt the import of 200,000 barrels per day of gasoline on Sept. 23, 2006. They said no decision has been made on when to begin gasoline rationing.

Despite its status as the fourth largest oil producer in the world, Iran lacks refining capacity to meet the nation's fuel needs.

BOULDER, Colo. -- The University of Colorado announced Monday that it will dismiss controversial professor Ward Churchill.

"Today, I issued to Professor Churchill a notice of intent to dismiss him from his faculty position at the University of Colorado Boulder," CU Interim Chancellor Phil DiStefano said Monday afternoon.

Churchill has 10 days to make a request to have the university president or chancellor forward the recommendation to the faculty senate Committee on Privilege and Tenure. A special panel will then conduct hearings on the matter and make a recommendation to the president on whether grounds for dismissal are supported.

Another committee found Churchill guilty of research misconduct and another panel recommended that he be fired because of "repeated and deliberate" infractions of scholarship rules.

Churchill, who ignited a firestorm by calling some of the World Trade Center victims "little Eichmanns" in an essay he wrote after Sept. 11, 2001, has vowed to sue the school if he was fired.

More in the news:

1. Big Brother watching you:

Department of Defense admits to wider surveillance of Don't Ask, Don't Tell groups

"The new FOIA request yielded information about an undercover investigation by the Pentagon on acitivities into student groups protesting the war at State University of New York at Albany (SUNY Albany), William Paterson University in New Jersey, Southern Connecticut State University and the University of California at Berkeley, reports SLDN."

2. Problems with Faux News:

Ailes Cracks Whip as Fox News Slips

Slackers at Fox News Channel, you’re on notice! Your boss is not pleased. Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes is on the warpath following his network’s recent ratings slump, and he won’t hesitate to clean house to turn things around.
So far during the second quarter, the No. 1 cable news channel’s primetime schedule has dropped 22% in its core 25-54 demo and 8% in total viewers. The first quarter was even worse.

http://www.rawstory.com/showarticle.php?src=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.broadcastingcable.com%2Findex.asp%3Flayout%3DarticlePrint%26articleID%3DCA6346894

3. Speaking of Faux News, Snowjob is still on meds!

From Thinkprogress:

VIDEO: Snow Lashes Out at Media, Suggests NYT Has Undermined Americans’ ‘Right to Live’ »

[T]he New York Times and other news organizations ought to think long and hard about whether a public’s right to know in some cases might override somebody’s right to live, and whether in fact the publications of these could place in jeopardy the safety of fellow Americans.

4. Now this is interesting. From TPMmuckraker:

Norquist: McCain's a Liar, Delusional

McCain has misused his chairmanship of the Indian Affairs committee for two years to attack me and Ralph Reed because he thinks we beat him in South Carolina," Norquist said, referring to McCain's primary battle for the presidency. GLOBALISATION MASQUERADING AS A WAR ON TERROR!

On our trek to Globalisation some folks missed to think about things...

Question:
Is The Executive Branch Aiding the Enemies of the United States by nullifying our Constitutional Rights and keeping us in a constant state of fear which could seriously destroy our economy ?

Some argue and say that "What good is Freedom if your dead?" but I say that the history of the United States is by people who stood up to say that they would die for Freedom...

Remember this one ?
GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!

SECURITY IS A MYTH...NO ONE CAN BE FULLY SECURED ANYWHERE..YOU'RE GONNA DIE ANYWAY WEATHER IT'S A CAR ACCIDENT, A NATURAL DISASTER, OR A TERRORIST ATTACK. You're more likely to die from Prescription drugs and/or a car accident than you would from a terrorist attack.

The President of the United States John F. Kennedy had the best Secret Service Agents to protect his every move and you can visit him at the Cemetery today..

FREEDOM IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SECURITY AND WHAT THE PATRIOT ACT AND THESE ASSAULTS ON OUR WAY OF LIFE IS REALLY DESTROYING INSTEAD OF SECURITY THIS COUNTRY!

That is the Goal of Globalism.

If this war on Terror was real then the Ports and Borders would've been secured right after 911...

S-Q,

I haven't heard anything on the sealed indictments on the Abramoff case. Abramoff is still cooperating with authorities and his sentence was changed from June 24. the more that he talks the more people will be investigated and indicted. The prosecutor who is leading that Abramoff case is Andrew Laurie. Abramoff case all links and connections to DeLay case (special Prosecutor Ronnie Earle), Cunningham case, and of course, the leak case. As you are hearing, more names are coming out such as Jerry Lewis, Brent Wilkes, Wade, Norquist, Ney, etc. But, it all lead up to the main person on the food chain at the WH!

Folks,

1. Update on Homeboy Terrorists:

From TPMmuckraker:

OKAY, WE'VE BEEN trying to figure out what the deal is with the "Seas of David" cult down in Miami that got busted last week for a plot to blow up the Sears Tower and a number of federal buildings. As I wrote a couple days ago, not only was their terror planning apparently more "aspirational" than "operational", as a federal law enforcement official put it. They apparently weren't even Muslims

http://www.tpmmuckraker.com/archives/001000.php

2. Another person bails out from the the Gerbil Administration. From WSJ:

U.S. Product Safety Chief Resigns
Consumer Product Safety Commission Chairman Hal Stratton submitted his resignation today to President Bush, effective July 15. Stratton couldn’t be reached for comment, but people with knowledge of the situation say Stratton is leaving of his own accord to pursue other interests after four years at the helm of CPSC. They also say current CPSC vice chairman, Nancy A. Nord, an attorney and former director of federal affairs for Eastman Kodak Co., is one of the leading candidates to become the next chairman.
In an email to CPSC staff, Stratton said being chairman has been “the best and most rewarding professional experience of my career.” “I don’t have any specific information to announce about what I might do when I leave,” Stratton wrote.
In his resignation letter to President Bush, Stratton said,”I look forward to future opportunities to serve our country and the administration.” –

DoD watching student groups, wow, is *that* ever a waste of taxpayer's dollars. . . . All they will find are college students not doing their homework.

There are no new ideas here. A really long time ago I knew a guy at a military base whose job it was to monitor activities at the closest university. He was bored out of his freaking mind. That was under Bush I.

Bush II & Co. really did not invent anything that is going on right now. Some of it might be more high tech. Americans have a long history of being overly paranoid and fearful after something bad happens.

On the "New York Times" publishing anything that should stay secret--geez, how about keeping it secret in the first place! Duh!! And from where did the "Times" get its information? None of this is funny. So much information does come from informants. Geez, *if* I was in Pakistan, if I knew where OBL was, and if I wanted to cash in on the reward money, would I really want to take a risk on giving information to country that cannot seem to keep a secret?

Roger, I think you just surpassed SPB and Jan as a Troll Magnet.

I did find the fake Kathleen entertaining--Wal-mart is too cheap to build anything underground.

On the al Qaeda money transactions--I thought they did not use regular means of dealing with money even years ago because banks do not follow the guidelines in the Qu'ran.

What is with Abramoff and that black fedora? What fashion statement is that, Secret Agent Man or trying to hide from the cameras? It is too late for him to be worrying about his image.

The New York Times Editor, Bill Keller, had this to say in an Editorial:

"Our decision to publish the story of the Administration's penetration of the international banking system followed weeks of discussion between Administration officials and The Times, not only the reporters who wrote the story but senior editors, including me. We listened patiently and attentively. We discussed the matter extensively within the paper. We spoke to others — national security experts not serving in the Administration — for their counsel. It's worth mentioning that the reporters and editors responsible for this story live in two places — New York and the Washington area — that are tragically established targets for terrorist violence. The question of preventing terror is not abstract to us."

Biloxi,

BINGO....

After the Afghan engagement

The Gerbil kept trying to link WMDs with Alqueda and 911..

The Terrorist this, and the terrorist that all the while knowing from his own intel that Saddam hated Al-Queda.

Truth is that Saddam was contained since his Gerbil Senior put him in his box and broke all his toys after the Quwait 100-hour rout..

What threat could he have posed if they knocked out his elite fighters back in Gerbil Seniors Presidency ?

Answer: NONE and they knew it..

The Biggest Threat that Saddam caused the Admin was the DOLLAR/OIL Hedgemony..

Saddam was selling Oil for Euros and that had the Admin quaking in their boots...

Others at the time were also considering Selling Oil for Euros...

That was a no-no-no for the Gerbil Oil Cabal...

Right after the Iraq Invasion they started selling Oil for Dollars again...

Imagine that!

..and Now that Iran is also posing a threat to the Dollar/Oil Hedgemony then it's time to invade.

Again, the Gerbil knowing full well that it will take Iran a long time to put together a Nuke..Unless Russia gave them one.

Incidently Putin also want's an Ruble/Oil Bourse and Opec and European Globalist are already discussing life after the Dollar/Oil collapse..

They're planning our demise. Put unfortunately they're gonna get poor right along with us because the whole world is carrying Petro-Dollars in their vaults..

If they want a NWO they're gonna have to cause a Global Depression of a Category 5 order.

From Prince:

All 7 and we'll watch them fall
They stand in the way of love
And we will smoke them all
With an intellect and a savoir-faire

No one in the whole universe
Will ever compare
I am yours now and u are mine
And together we'll love through
All space and time, so don't cry
One day all 7 will die

All 7 and we'll watch them fall
They stand in the way of love
And we will smoke them all
With an intellect and a savoir-faire

No one in the whole universe
Will ever compare
I am yours now and u are mine
And together we'll love through
All space and time, so don't cry
One day all 7 will die

And I saw an angel come down unto me
In her hand she holds the very key
Words of compassion, words of peace
And in the distance an army's marching feet (1,2,3,4 - 1,2,3,4)
But behold, we will watch them fall

And we lay down on the sand of the sea
And before us animosity will stand and decree
That we speak not of love only blasphemy
And in the distance, 6 others will curse me
But that's alright, (that's alright)
4 I will watch them fall(1,2,3,4,5,6,7)

All 7 and we'll watch them fall
They stand in the way of love
And we will smoke them all
With an intellect and a savoir-faire
No one in the whole universe
Will ever compare
I am yours now and u are mine
And together we'll love through
All space and time, so don't cry
One day all 7 will die

[(Just how old)]

And we will see a plague and a river of blood
And every evil soul will surely die in spite of
Their 7 tears, but do not fear
4 in the distance, 12 souls from now
U and me will still be here - we will still be here

There will be a new city with streets of gold
The young so educated they never grow old
And a, there will be no death 4 with every breath
The voice of many colors sings a song
That's so bold
Sing it while we watch them fall

All 7 and we'll watch them fall
They stand in the way of love
And we will smoke them all
With an intellect and a savoir-faire
No one in the whole universe
Will ever compare
I am yours now and u are mine
And together we'll love through
All space and time, so don't cry
One day all 7 will die

And yes they were, Night Owl! A real bad Mary Jane! It makes the Gerbil's bullshit speech about the government not mining or trolling the American people a bunch of crock. To stoop that low for the Administration to pull a political stunt to now connect Afro-Americans to Al-Queda. I don't care what the Gerbil says. He is using racial profiling on blacks, Middle Eastern decents, or anyone that they think look like a terrorist! Right after 9/11, there was article of a man suspicious on a flight that was suspected of being a terrorist. The man was Hispanic but he was brown enough for the authorities to think he was a terrorist. Again, The Gerbil and company are so dumb that the person that the Gerbil invites to his events in the WH may be terrorists and they may not be brown or Middle Eastern descent. The Gerbil and company wouldn't know a terrorist if it bit them!

One place reported was the jewelry shores were empty. So much was happening and officers had to go downstairs to the subway to notify people. Now that's always been a question that no one ever answered. But with the new problems in Israel and that country full of corruption I'm sure the story will come out. Now the President of Israel said the country was full of corruption so I guess he knows his country better then me.

Precisely. Which means that there was no need to reform Intel or to create the DOHS(Dept of Homeland Security) which now is doing the Job that the FBI was doing...

In my opinion the FBI's power was ripped from it by DOHs creation. The CIA has also been decapitated by the NSA now...

It's an Intelligence Agency Turf War as you correctly mentioned before and the Intelligence Agencies favored now are only accountable to the Executive branch.

Noticed all the firings/shuffles in Intel depts in the last few years?

They'll say:

Till this day those folks are under a gag order to keep quiet..

There's also evidence for Thermite explosions in the videos...

Night Owl those are great questions. I don't know about the Bulls game but we only heard feed back from the first police/fireman on the scene way before the second plane or before both towers fell. Now the police/fireman only said as they went in to tell people to leave now remember this is the first plane. They said they told store orders just to take the cash and leave right now. They reported that jewerly stores were closed they didn't say before or after they were just reporting on those two way radio. When the second plane hit all the floods were notified to leave it was just smoke at the top. Fire trucks police cars all started going to the towers as some people were leaving others were just standing and looking others were going back for friends. In the final report with those who died none of the reportered dead we those who worked in the towers. Some people in Jersey that had friends that were Jewish called and were told by the family members they that person didn't go to work. Alot of the people that died lived in Jersey so our news was up to date.

One more posting. From FDL, on
Op-Ed from LA Times aboutthe Gerbil and his henchman, Porkrind:

"Perhaps more than any other administration, the White House of George W. Bush has mastered the art of mixing politics and policy and keeping track of how federal government decisions can affect even obscure local elections."

"Rove, with a broad portfolio and extraordinary influence, introduced a new political doctrine, effectively putting the federal bureaucracy and the bully pulpit of the White House in the service of GOP political ends.
All administrations are political, of course. But never before has the White House inserted electoral priorities into Cabinet agencies with such regularity and deliberation. Before the 2002 midterm elections, for instance, Rove or Mehlman visited with the managers of many federal agencies to share polling information and discuss how policy decisions might affect key races."

"In 2002, Rove told Interior Department officials of the importance of helping farmers in Oregon whose political support was crucial to Gordon Smith, a vulnerable Republican senator. Within months, perhaps because of Rove’s exhortations, the agency did just that, supporting the diversion of water from the environmentally important Klamath River for the sake of irrigating farmland. Thousands of salmon eventually died in the newly shallow waters. But the senator secured his reelection.
Other pieces of the plan preceded Bush and Rove. The legendary political genius Lee Atwater masterminded a long-term campaign to redraw congressional district lines, which has given Republicans a long-term edge in House elections that is difficult to reverse."

Reuters reports:

"Billionaire Warren Buffett on Monday called for U.S. lawmakers to retain the estate tax , after announcing plans to leave more than $37 billion of his own fortune to charity, not his children."

We need Warren to run for Congress...at least he believes in sharing the wealth and in fairer taxes than Dumbya...

Forgive me if this has been covered, but I didn't see this -- better news for Whistleblowers & Citizens:

From Truthout.org:

"In a breakthrough for advocates of whistle-blower rights, the Senate has approved an amendment that would tighten up protections for federal employees who expose waste, fraud, abuse and threats to public safety.

A bipartisan group of senators, led by Sen. Daniel K. Akaka (D-Hawaii), won unanimous consent last week to include the amendment in the fiscal 2007 defense authorization bill. The amendment was based on a whistle-blower bill introduced by Akaka last year.

Federal employees "who put their country before their personal well-being should not be restrained because of fear of retaliation for doing what's right," Akaka said in a statement.

Numerous federal whistle-blowers have complained in recent years that agencies fail to handle their cases in a confidential manner and to ensure they do not suffer reprisals from their superiors."

Folks,

In today's news:

Bad news for the GOP and the Gerbil and company.

1. No love for Porkrind in Iowa:

Rove catches grief during stop in Waterloo

WATERLOO, Iowa — While Karl Rove was en route to talk at a campaign fundraiser for Republican congressional
candidate Mike Whalen of

Bettendorf, about three dozen protesters stood with signs showing what they think of President Bush’s deputy chief of staff:

“Rove fiddles while working families burn.”

“Health care is a right, not a privilege.”

“Karl Rove, congratulations on not getting indicted!” Signed, “Concerned Iowans.”

Rove’s response a short time later: “What protesters?”

“He said, ‘You’ve never seen protesters until you’ve seen the ones that were outside my house,’ ” added Hugh Field, a Waterloo lawyer who attended the invitation-only fundraiser. “So he wasn’t very impressed.”

Whalen said 70-to-75 people attended the $250-a-plate

Isn't Iowa a red state?

2. The Hammer strikes again but gets nailed:

Judge says DeLay 'withdrew'
Statement may spell trouble for GOP, but 22nd District issue still awaits ruling
By JANET ELLIOTT
Copyright 2006 Houston Chronicle Austin Bureau

AUSTIN - A federal judge hearing a ballot dispute Monday involving former U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay said he thinks that DeLay withdrew from the November election, indicating potential trouble for Republicans who want to name a replacement candidate.

"He is not going to participate in the election and he withdrew," said U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks, who did not issue an official ruling after a daylong trial regarding DeLay's status as the GOP nominee for the 22nd Congressional District.

Sparks also said that if political parties are allowed to replace primary election winners with more popular candidates, "the abuse would be incredible."

This is from Press Enterprise newspaper in California:

"A federal grand jury has subpoenaed San Bernardino County for records relating to its Washington lobbyist and its communications with Inland Rep. Jerry Lewis as part of an ongoing criminal investigation, according to federal legal documents."

"San Bernardino County and a host of Inland cities and agencies use the lobbying firm Copeland, Lowery & Jacquez, a company linked to convicted former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham. The Rancho Santa Fe Republican pleaded guilty to tax evasion and bribery charges and was sentenced to more than eight years in federal prison."

Karl Rove may get to see the slammer yet...

A Viagra delivery truck was high-jacked by Karl Rove and Rush Limpbough. The police are looking for the two 'hardened criminals', and they expect a stiff penalty under the penal code.

No further comment...

I bet Jon Stewart will have a comic skit on Rushjob about Viagra! Speaking of Jon Stewart had a skit on the Homefront Terrorists. It is still the joke of this week!

From Crooks and Liars:

TDS: The Miami Seven

Jon Stewart takes a look at the case known to many as "The Miami Seven." He examines the careful and decisive evidence told to us by Alberto Gonzales:

Gonzales: These individuals wish to wage a quote: "full ground war against the United States."

Stewart: Seven guys? I’m not a general. I am not anyway affiliated with the military academy, but I believe if you were going to wage a full ground war against the United States, you need to field at least as many people as say a softball team.

Please Alberto, don’t take any questions-you were doing just fine up until then. That was followed up by some careful analysis of the men involved in the plot.

A: One of the individuals was familiar with the Sears Tower- had worked in Chicago and had been there-so was familiar with the tower, but in terms of the plans it was more aspirational rather than operational.

Stewart: No weapons, no actual contact with al-Qaeda, but one of them had been to Chicago…

***LMAO*** Gonzo could use the Miami Seven in the new upcoming movie: "Miami Vice."
