Hi guys I know your sleep by now but I just heard from Peaches. Things aren't going good in Afgan and there is a lock down. Seems like the place is falling apart and the terrorist want their land back. Don't worry she is safe but she can't do our daily emails. So I'll be on pins and needles until she gives me the ok. Night Owl and SPB were right that we should tell our elected officials and I did. I mass emailed everybody and who ever is running for office if they don't wont our troops to come home they wont get my vote. I'm mad and I'm telling anyone and everyone to vote for the person who will bring our troops home. Thanks for putting up with me I don't usually get upset. Have a good night. Let's hope tomorrow will be better for all. Fitz I hope your behaving yourself. I know you were right about the propaganda in the Libby case it is so stupid I thought they'd do better at lying I guess I was wrong.

So much is happening now and we have to take back America. Fitz and his team are doing their part now the rest of the people have to do theirs. I'll keep writing and speaking out and yes I will make my vote count. I'm looking forward to a good day and I hope everyone has a good day too. I'll be back later. Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening Folks!

Happy Wednesday!

Jackie, my payers go out to your daughter and of course and to all of the bloggers who have love ones overseas...

Now, I am still licking my wounds to the Heat/Dallas game. It was a good game and Heats did deserve to win. Pat Riley is one hell of coach. I leave Shaq at of this conversation. But Wade and Morning played a good game. But, I was really impressed with the coach of Dallas, Avery Johnson with his positive attitude about his team and the Heats. He told his team that he was proud of them when they lost last year and this playoff game. He gave them a pat on the back. This tells you that even losers are winners in their own way. And Dalls will be back next year. They have young players but a heart of a champion.

Also, got to catch some of PBS special about Darth Cheney and Iraq documentary. The documentary gave the public a very clear information about who was behind the spearhearding the war in Iraq, the intelligence, and interviews with former CIA employees. Very informative.

From HuffPo, more GOP hypocrisy:(family values, affairs and divorce)

"Last month, The New York Times published a 2,000-word, front-page dissection of Bill and Hillary Clinton's marriage. It contained no real news, few named sources, and plenty of gossip masquerading as political coverage...

Lurking just over the horizon are liabilities for three Republicans who have topped several national, independent polls for the GOP's favorite 2008 nominee: Sen. John McCain (affair, divorce), former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (affair, divorce, affair, divorce), and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (divorce, affair, nasty divorce). Together, they form the most maritally challenged crop of presidential hopefuls in American political history."

Yes, Grandmanuk:

We all want to know where is OBL!

In other news, from Thinkprogress:

"After revelations that AT&T set up a secret room in San Francisco that provided the National Security Agency with “full access to its customers’ phone calls,” Salon now reveals that AT&T has a “more integral” secret room in its Bridgeton, MO facility. “Although they work for AT&T, they’re actually doing a job for the government,” said a former AT&T employee."

Very shocking...

On a side note: "We get so wound up over rumors and counter-rumors that we forget: ultimately, these ARE matters of life and death." I think that is a true statement. Major of the people in this country are in the me me me mode and not realize what really matters in this world and earth? After being recommended to read Rick Warren's book, A Purpose Driven Life, a lot of people in the country have to ask themselves everyday is what is their purpose driven life?

I think that the word "family values" has been so distorted by the corrupted GOP and the Gerbil that it is truly ashamed.. That is why alot of people don't take marriage vows or commitment seriously.. And the media doesn't help either. They put celebrities like Jolie/Pitt and Cruise/Holmes on a pedatal. Yet, there are average Americans who are true example of the word "family values" but that is not focused on in the media or on the lips of the Administration these days.. I think that the Administration and certain politicans need to go back and re-read the bible where the part that says: You should not judge!

Grandmanuk,

"..she should use it to strike back with the line that some talk about "family values", but she is actually living "family values"."

I totally agree with you, and good for you emailing her! I am tired of some GOP people using the family value issue so hypocritically and acting like they have a monopoly on it...a bunch of BS.

SPB,

"...AT&T has a “more integral” secret room in its Bridgeton, MO facility....they’re actually doing a job for the government,” said a former AT&T employee."

I read about this a few months ago, and I read the actual AT&T documents about these rooms -- it is very scary stuff.

And I live not too far from the Bridgeton location so that was a surprise for me too. Maybe they think Midwesterners are too dumb to blow the whistle, but I think it has more to do with the structure of their network backbone.

Condolences to Special Prosecutor Biloxi on the Mavs terrible loss to the Heat. Haven't been much of a basketball fan since Jordan and The Bulls, but thanks to you I rooted for Dalllas. Very cool playing, loved those steals. However, I turned to Frontline on PBS for the Dick Cheney, The Dark Side, which I was hoping some of you had watched. They made it very clear who is running the show. Even PJF had a small moment in this portrayal. Cheney & Rummy both were in Nixon's Administration, and they made a point to say Cheney's big motivation after Watergate was to strengthen the executive branch...the next chance he got. I also found it interesting that the program was broadcast when most were watching The Finals.

Anon at11:54 pm,

I appeciate your thoughts about the basketball game. I'm over it. But, hey, it was a very good game. And BTW, I got to see the second and fourth quarter so I didn't watch the entire game. You mention about the PBS show Frontline. I am pretty sure that the most of thw public watched the Heat/Dallas game than PBS. But, this tells that most of the public want to be entertained than educated. It was a important piece to watch or tape.. I went on PBS website. They will be posting the transcript of that shaw in 7-10 days to download. Pretty much a lot of what was aired last night I knew because I read about it and kept informed. But, it is good information for people who haven't following this information from the media.. It is truly saddened about people's mentality and their lack of hunger to be educated about this country. I know people personally that will tell me all of the names of the Simpsons character but not know what is going on the Administration and their own country. When my associates look at me, I don't watch a lot of the Simpsons show. Don't get me wrong. It is a good show but that is not in my priorities in life.. I choose to have a real rounded knowledge in education and a balanced life.

On a side note, Dallss will be back next year. Winners fall but they get back up again..

The House Judiciary Committee unexpectedly passed a Democratic resolution Wednesday morning calling on the Justice Department to turn over all requests made by the National Security Agency and other federal agencies to telephone service providers to obtain information without a warrant.
The measure was passed by a voice vote Wednesday morning with support of Republican Chairman F. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI). It was introduced by Florida Democrat Robert Wexler.

There is a lawsuit filed in DC (9/19/05) brought by a Carl Jackson against Bush (Rove, Libby, & new AG Gonzo). It is Cause 42:1983 Civil Rights Act which is deprivation of rights (I believe?) There is a related case in Tampa Florida.

Do you know what this case is about specifically? I know there are tons of court cases against Bush (Guantanamo detainees, etc.) -- but I was curious about this one, but could not find any info on the web.

I guess Roger beat me to the punch about your question on a case in Tampa, Florida which deals with Cause: 42 1983 Civil Rights law. Jeb Bush has violated the civil rights of voting for sure. I did read the court case of Carl Jackson.

Here is the case:

One interesting case that comes to mind in which he sued for civil rights violation is Rodney King.

If it weren't for the Internet, we wouldn't be able to get "real" news and communicate with other "independent minded" people easily.

RE: Gov Jeb

I'd really like to see him the target of a "pie throwing" contest here in Florida, before he goes to prison. My attempt to send an email in reference to a Civil Suit against the State of Florida and Mel Sembler (last week) was met with an assault on my computer/phone lines. Email suddenly disappeared and I discovered my phone was tapped. I'm pissed off because our government has "stolen" my vote and is violating my right to privacy on a daily basis. I also admire the hard work of all those involved in bringing the "evildoers" to Justice.

Folks,

More news:

From WMR:

"According to his Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) arrest record card from the Kennebunkport, Maine Police Department. Bush's date of birth (DOB) is listed as July 6, 1976, which means that Bush would have been only a few months old when he was arrested for DWI on Sept. 4, 1976. Legal sources say this is not a typo but the result of a previous arrest record being scrubbed by changing the birth date to establish a new unblemished record. It is a common practice that is well known to many prosecutors and defense attorneys. Questions remain about Bush's previous arrests, which sources in Houston claim included a cocaine bust in Houston in 1972 or 1973 when Bush was serving in the Texas Air National Guard. Those records were also meticulously scrubbed."

A copy of the Gerbil's arrest record card is on that site!

2. Another Gerbil Burble moment:

From Thinkprogress:

Video: Bush tells reporters European opinion of US 'absurd'

"At a news conference in Vienna today, President Bush told European reporters that polls indicating European residents thought the US was a bigger threat to world stability than Iran or North Korea were "absurd".
Other questions asked of the President and other officials involved the war in Iraq, Guantanamo Bay, and extraordinary rendition of US prisoners.
Bush also claimed that other nations do not understand the fundamental shift in US foreign policy he claims became necessary after the terrorist attacks of 2001."

3. Another nomination by the Gerbil to spread Faux news propaganda:

From Thinkprogress:

Bush Nominates National Review Writer To Public Broadcasting Board

"The Corner is reporting that President Bush plans to nominate Warren Bell, television producer and National Review writer, to the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). The CPB is designed to provide a buffer between independent public broadcast networks and partisan politics.
But instead of being a nonpartisan advocate of public broadcasting, Bell will likely be another advocate of Bush’s agenda. (Under Bush, the CPB has steadily pushed right-wing priorities, trying to put a conservative slant on programming.)"

Special Counsel Patrick "Fitzgerald's investigation is a unique chapter in American history. The probe has managed to shed light into the inner recesses of perhaps the most secretive presidential administration in US history. His mission is not political, and he will not allow it to be." Many people feel they are owed an explanation of some sort at this time, but what kind of statement could the SP issue that would satisfy the questions and protect the investigation? This simply cannot become political. I'm going to be really reading comments from people here about this.

It's pretty well known that Bush is a drunk - he may be "dry" because he is channeling Carrie Nation right now, but he is an addict and he's passed that on to his girls.

He never dealt with his addiction - he "found" God. Nothing against God however he is not a cure for alcoholism/addiction.

Untreated addicts do not just "give up" their substance. They bury it, they reassign it to other substances, they hide it - but until and unless you have dealt with addiction, you do not stop being an addict. Even with treatment and therapy, you remain an addict and it is a daily struggle.

I'm sure there are many people in this world who deal with addiction cravings on a daily basis. Please don't misunderstand, I am not condemning addicts particularly those who are dealing with their problems.

Dubya is certainly giving every indication of being an addict and as his public appearances appear to indicate, he is strung tighter than a violin string every time he speaks. I don't know what his handlers are feeding him, but this is NOT normal behavior.

Watch his gestures - his head bobbing, his unfocused stare, his eye movements - his garbled speech, his jerky bodily movements. If he showed up anonymously in an ER, he'd be shipped off to a detox center I'd bet.

Just my personal opinion - he's using..no question in MY mind.

I do disagree that he's using alcohol thought unless he's using both drugs AND booze. His physical indicators are way too erratic to be just booze.

Now Cheney on the other hand ... Lots of drugs and undoubtedly a bit of Johnny Walker. The guys in a stupor pretty much of the time I'd bet.

Great bunch to put in charge..

Fitzgerald owes nothing more than to do his job to the best of his abilities. Just because a bunch of people are getting impatient does not mean that Fitzgerald owes them a speed up of whatever is going on with the investigation. People are making too much of the investigation anyway. It is not about finding out if (how) the war in Iraq is based on lies. It is not going to bring our soldiers home instantly. I wish there was a Harry Potter magic wand to make the world better or to turn back the clock to early 2003 so this stupidity could have been prevented.

The people at Wayne Madsen can either take out the trash that is corrupting this country themselves, go take a chill pill so they can find some patience, and/or they can take their opinion and shove it. Do they really think that flooding Fitzgerald's office with a bunch of complaint letters is going to HELP??

June 21, 2006 -- WMR has spoken to a number of informed individuals about the current status of the Patrick Fitzgerald criminal probe of CIA "Leakgate." Legal experts wonder why Fitzgerald is even fooling around with a Grand Jury when the evidence of criminal wrongdoing cited by Judge David Tatel of the US District Court for the District of Columbia in the Scooter Libby matter appears extremely damaging to national security. In a February 2005 decision on the Grand Jury subpoena of reporters Judith Miller and Matt Cooper, Judge Tatel wrote, "the special counsel refers to Plame as 'a person whose identity the CIA was making specific efforts to conceal and who had carried out covert work overseas within the last five years' -- representations I trust the special counsel would not make without support. (8/27/04 Aff. at 28 n.15.)."

With such damage to national security already well established by the evidence collected by early 2005, legal experts say that Fitzgerald could have bypassed the Grand Jury process and filed a complaint, also known as an "information," with a Federal circuit court judge. Fitzgerald could have told the judge that sufficient evidence existed that a crime or crimes was/were committed, that this evidence was sufficient for a regular jury to consider, and requested that an arrest warrant or warrants be issued. Similarly, a Grand Jury can also file an information regardless of the wishes of the special prosecutor. The Grand Jury also has the power to subpoena any relevant document, including the diaries of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

Which brings us to what kind of 11th hour deal was worked out between Fitzgerald and Karl Rove's attorney Robert Luskin. On June 12, Luskin was faxed a letter from Fitzgerald stating that the special prosecutor "does not anticipate seeking charges against Karl Rove." There is much speculation among legal experts that Rove and Luskin worked out a cooperation agreement with the prosecutor in lieu of pressing ahead with an indictment. There is also a belief that the largely African-American Grand Jury, already hostile to the Bush administration, issued a True Bill (an indictment) against Rove on its own (in what is called a "runaway Grand Jury") without prompting from Fitzgerald and that this indictment remains sealed pending the outcome of Rove's cooperativeness with the prosecutor.

Whatever is the case at this point, it is clear, in the minds of legal experts, that Fitzgerald owes the American public some information on the progress of this case. With America's constitutional government hanging by a thread, legal experts reason that, above all, Fitzgerald owes some information to the American people and particularly to the next of kin of those Americans who have died in Iraq. After all, the entire leak matter was caused by White House retaliation against Ambassador Joseph Wilson and his covert CIA wife over the Bush administration being called to task over their lies about the "danger" from Iraq. Fitzgerald has been portrayed by the media as a crime fighting Elliott Ness-type from Chicago. In actuality, Fitzgerald is a prosecutor who should be looking out for the public interest, not engaging in a legal chess match with the likes of Rove and Luskin. And it is to the public he remains answerable. The public's patience in the CIA Leakgate is not infinite and we suggest that the families of those killed or maimed in Iraq send a letter to Mr. Fitzgerald demanding an update on a criminal case that directly resulted in the losses of their loved ones.

Yes, PJF doesn't owe anyone an explanation. And Wayne Madsen should get over himself...PJF knows what he is doing, and we need to wait for the process to play out...I'm sure the WH gang are messing with this case big time. I have faith in PJF.

It will take many people to expose the corruption that is going on these days in our country. And anyone that wants to complain about PJF -- should get off their fat arses and do something themselves!

"Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald's investigation is a unique chapter in American history. The probe has managed to shed light into the inner recesses of perhaps the most secretive presidential administration in US history. His mission is not political, and he will not allow it to be." That is from the Truthout piece from 6/19. I posted about this at 4:26, and I agree, Patrick Fitzgerald has no obligation, except to pursuing the investigation wherever it leads, and there are so many tangled leads in unsafe territory, that we need for him to take all the time it takes. (And I am sure he is getting input from people we wouldn't imagine in 1000 years would be helping him, and that it will all be known in the end.) The results will be worth it, no matter what they are because they will be rooted in truth. I have to say I have complete confidence in Mr. Fitzgerald and that is rare for me, especially w/someone I don't know, have never met and probably never will meet. And I'm not a lawyer, but I know that following the letter and spirit of the law is not a linear process and it is often necessary to make tradeoffs to get to the source of the issue, in this case what is a clearly prosecutable offense that is THE offense to be prosecuted. (Probably a few hundred he go could for along the way.) Waiting is just fine with me. I skimmed through the comments at the end quickly, but whoever suggested Madsen take a chill pill, I'm with you.

Hmmmm. "Special Court's acting prosecutor Christopher Staker had said at the press conference in the conference room of the registrar of the Special Court that although "the court is playing its role in the region and it is important that people in the region know and take an interest ",

Sounds like the future case of the U.S. Vs. The Gerbil or Chippendale Cheney real soon...

Folks,

This is the joke of the day. Check out this article. Guess what? the GOP found the WMD!

Republican Congress members claim that evidence of Saddam's WMD have been identified

Republican Congress members claimed late today that evidence of weapons of mass destruction hidden by Saddam Hussein had at last been identified in Iraq.
Speaking at a late afternoon press conference, Michigan Rep. Pete Hoekstra, Chairman of the Select Committee on Intelligence, spoke with Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. They claimed that 500 chemical weapons shells allegedly containing degraded sarin or mustard gas have been recovered by coalition forces since 2003, and that other filled and unfilled munitions have been found.

http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Republican_Congress_members_claimed_that_evidence_0621.html

And is happening to be the GOP Congress only to discover this??? Please... And all of the sudden that found this new found information just only a few months before the November election. If this is true, then I spotted Bin Laden getting 10 dented cans of tuna for a buck at the bluelight special at Kmart! What idiots!

Thank you for sharing about Peaches...it brings the real human element to all of us as we discuss the war and policies...we must not forget one single soul fighting for our country.

Yesterday Senator Hagel (Republican -NE) made these comments on the Senate floor about GOP members using political spin on the Iraq War debate.

From CSPAN transcript: "This debate should transcend cynical attempts to turn public frustration with the war in Iraq into an electoral advantage. It should be taken more seriously than to simply retreat into focus-group tested buzz words and phrases like “cut and run,” catchy political slogans that debase the seriousness of war. War’s not a partisan issue, Mr. President. It should not be held hostage to political agendas. War should not be drug down into the political muck. America deserves better. Our men and women fighting and dying deserve better. "

Amen to Senator Hagel for having the guts to speak out! It is outrageous to use these inflammatory deceptive spin words for political purposes when 2,500 soldiers have been killed and thousands severely maimed. The political spin does not serve our troops or our country.

A serious debate needs to occur. We cannot go on indefinitely without a realistic plan that is bipartisan. Shame on any politician from either party that would use this debate for their political purposes!

Blogger FBI said...

Of course Senator Hagel doesn't need to use spin to get elected because he owns the Voting Machines...

From The Scoop in 2003, by Bev Harris:

"On October, 10, 2002 Bev Harris, author of the upcoming “Black Box Voting: Ballot-Tampering” in the 21st Century, revealed that Republican Senator Chuck Hagel has ties to the largest voting machine company, Election Systems & Software (ES&S). She reported that he was an owner, Chairman and CEO of Election Systems & Software (called American Information Systems until name change filed in 1997). ES&S was the ONLY company whose machines counted Hagel’s votes when he ran for election in 1996 and 2002. The Hill, a Washington D.C. newspaper that covers the U.S. national political scene, confirmed her findings today and uncovered more details."

Demands new approach to war on terror; U.S. announces deaths of 4 GIs

"Afghan President Hamid Karzai urged the international community to reassess its approach to the war on terror Thursday, saying the deaths of hundreds of Afghans in fighting with U.S.-led forces was “not acceptable.”

Meanwhile, the U.S. military announced the deaths of four American soldiers in eastern Afghanistan.

A clearly frustrated Karzai said the approach being taken by coalition forces to hunt down militants does not focus on the roots of terrorism itself."
