I'll bet the pollsters forgot to poll the Diebold machines to see what they think. In the absence of a lot of hard work, some of those Senate races may be decided by Diebold.

Looks like the poll numbers don't look to shabby for the GOP according to the WSJ. Looks like the GOP is leading in 5 out of 17 states.. I have a feeling that their numbers will decrease much lower as more scandals come out from the GOP. This is the summer. But, people will be paying attention to those scandals and make a decision to vote. They are either going to vote because they are sick and tired of being sick and tired or they don't want that particular candidate linked to the scandal in office.

Folks,

More news:

1. From Thinkprogress. What was this Rep. thinking?

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) has apologized to 85-year-old veteran White House correspondent Helen Thomas. Remarking on Abu Musab Zarqawi's death last week, King said, "There probably are not 72 virgins in the hell he's at. And if there are, they probably all look like Helen Thomas.''

2. Folks, keep a close eye on this. This is importsnt!

"Republicans Block Renewal of Voting Rights Act
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/062206J.shtml
House leaders abruptly canceled a vote to renew the 1965 Voting Rights Act yesterday after rank-and-file Republicans revolted over provisions that require bilingual ballots in many places and continued federal oversight of voting practices in Southern states."

Here is more info of the connection with Abramoff and the Gerbil from Raw Story:

In an interview with CBS News Wednesday evening, Wayne Smith, a Sioux tribal member whose grandfather was an Indian chief and previously led oversight of Indian gaming for the Bush Adminstration, said he was unprepared for the "raw political opportunism" that he witnessed as a member of the Administration.
"I had lobbyists flat out tell me that it was 'our time to make some money in Indian gaming -- the Indian arena -- we worked hard to get this president elected and we expected to be rewarded for it' -- to make a killing inside the BIA [Bureau of Indian Affairs]," Smith says in the interview.
Smith asserts Abramoff and other lobbyists redefined "access and influence" inside the Bush Administration. He also blows the whistle on Steven Griles, described as Abramoff's 'point man' inside the Department of the Interior.

The plot thickens with Abramoff and the Gerbil connection.

More on Dollar Bill Jefferson. From TPMmuckraker:

Jefferson Hasn't Paid Back "Personal Loan"
By Paul Kiel - June 22, 2006, 5:57 PM

In 2001, an Ethiopian businessman named Noah Samara, who's CEO of a global satellite radio company called Worldspace, made a personal loan of between $50,000 and $100,000 to Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA). Jefferson still hasn't paid the money back. And he won't say what the money was for. And he didn't disclose the money in his annual disclosure form until last week, because, he claims, he didn't know personal loans had to be reported.
Meanwhile, Samara has testifed before the grand jury hearing evidence against Jefferson and says that he's "cooperated fully" with the investigation.

Hmmm.. Jefferson doesn't pay pay his loan yet found $90,000 in Dollar Bill Jefferson's freezer?
