Pretty disturbing news:

Cost of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to top $500 billion in 2007

The overall cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and other global anti-terror operations since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks will top $500 billion next year, according to congressional estimates and expectations of future funding.

2. And this is what I suspected:

Miami plot suspects entrapped: lawyers

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Seven men charged with conspiring to bomb the Sears Tower in Chicago and the FBI building in Miami were entrapped by a federal informant, lawyers for two of the suspects said on Monday.
An indictment issued last week accused the men of pledging loyalty to Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda and seeking the group's support to "wage war" against the U.S. government.
The person they thought was an al Qaeda representative was actually an FBI informant, U.S. Justice Department officials said.

Albert Levin, the court-appointed attorney for suspect Patrick Abraham, said he believes his client was ensnared by the informant.

"SPB--Race card is next for the defense of the wannabes, or have they played that one yet?" They might use that approach.. Yeah, it may work in their favor having Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. But, the Gerbil Administration has gone too far with abuse of power and political propaganda with terrorism. And of course, Gonzo will try to sweep this embarrassing moment of Miami Seven under the rug if there are lawsuits. People might yell race in this situation but I remember an organization that was in Fresno, CA (this was in Fahrenheit 9/11 movie) that were put on watch by the government for the Patriot Act. But what group didn't know there was an informant implanted to spy on them. Now, the group was harmless. They just promoted peace and ate cookies at their meetings. And they weren't young people and they weren't Afro-Aemricans neither!

Folks,

Solved the mystery around the Rush/Viagra story. And this is thanks to Americablog in their detective work. From Americablog:

"Why would they detain him at the airport for three hours just for having a vial of Viagra? Well, one of our readers weighs in.
Perhaps this might explain some confusion you have with Rush's pills "labeled as Viagra": Viagra are blue pills. Zoloft is also a blue pill. Xanax in the higher doses are blue pills. Oh, and what color is Oxy-Contin? Yes: Blue. You're right that there well may be something more here."

Here is the picture of Viagra vs. OxyContin:

http://americablog.blogspot.com/uploaded_images/viagravsocy-717359.jpg

And what is OxyContin?
OxyContin contains oxycodone, a very strong narcotic pain reliever similar to morphine

In plain Englis, Rush is still using pain killers. Viagra was just a coverup!

Folks,

Gonzo and gang look like complete idiots in the Miami Seven arrests. They weren't Muslims nor Afro-Americans. They were mostly Haitians? From the Wayne Madsen Report:

June 25, 2006 -- This editor will be appearing on Al Jazeera this morning talking about the hype over the recent "terrorist" apprehensions in Miami, Toronto, and London. These appear to be yet additional neo-con inspired "crises" to push their all-too-evident agendas.

The case of the "Liberty City Seven," a group of self-employed youths of mainly Haitian descent, is yet another example of the propaganda of the neo-cons creating new bogeyman. The barrage of fear mongering was best represented by agenda-laden cable news polemicists like Steven Emerson, Joel Mowbray, Sean Hannity, William Kristol, Ann Coulter, and Byron York, to demonize yet another sector of American society, this time Miami's Haitian and non-Cuban Caribbean community. First, it was the Arabs and Muslims, then, it was the turn of the Hispanics, now, it is the Haitians. Tomorrow, it will be sub-continental Indians, then, Native Americans, and Chinese and Koreans. "Homeland security," that awful Teutonic phrase, is being used to establish an apartheid South African-style racial regime in the United States under the cover of "counter terrorism" and "homeland security."

And notice the names from the media who jumped on this story in a heartbeat.

I just read the LA Times Op-Ed on why they wrote the article of the money monitoring:

Why we ran the bank story
The Times editor on the paper's decision to expose U.S. money monitoring.

By Dean Baquet, DEAN BAQUET is the editor of the Los Angeles Times.
June 27, 2006

The decision to publish this article was not one we took lightly. We considered very seriously the government's assertion that these disclosures could cause difficulties for counterterrorism programs. And we weighed that assertion against the fact that there is an intense and ongoing public debate about whether surveillance programs like these pose a serious threat to civil liberties.

We sometimes withhold information when we believe that reporting it would threaten a life. In this case, we believed, based on our talks with many people in the government and on our own reporting, that the information on the Treasury Department's program did not pose that threat. Nor did the government give us any strong evidence that the information would thwart true terrorism inquiries. In fact, a close read of the article shows that some in the government believe that the program is ineffective in fighting terrorism.

In the end, we felt that the legitimate public interest in this program outweighed the potential cost to counterterrorism efforts.

Some readers have seen our decision to publish this story as an attack on the Bush administration and an attempt to undermine the war on terror.

We are not out to get the president. This newspaper has done much hard-hitting reporting on terrorism, from around the world, often at substantial risk to our reporters. We have exposed terrorist cells and led the way in exposing the work of terrorists. We devoted a reporter to covering Al Qaeda's role in world terrorism in the months before 9/11. I know, because I made the assignment.

But we also have an obligation to cover the government, with its tremendous power, and to offer information about its activities so citizens can make their own decisions. That's the role of the press in our democracy.

The founders of the nation actually gave us that role, and instructed us to follow it, no matter the cost or how much we are criticized. Thomas Jefferson said, "Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government." That's the edict we followed.

This was a tough call for me, as I'm sure it was for the editors of other papers that chose to publish articles on the subject. But history tells us over and over that the nation's founders were right in pushing the press into this role. President Kennedy persuaded the press not to report the Bay of Pigs planning. He later said he regretted this, that he might have called it off had someone exposed it.

History has taught us that the government is not always being honest when it cites secrecy as a reason not to publish. No one believes, in retrospect, that there was any true reason to withhold the Pentagon Papers, although the government fought vigorously to keep them from being published by the New York Times and the Washington Post. As Justice Hugo Black put it in that case: "The guarding of military and diplomatic secrets at the expense of informed representative government provides no real security for our Republic."

I don't expect all of our readers to agree with my call. But understand that it was one taken with serious reflection and supported by much history.

Having a prescription bottle with someone else's name on it is actually enough to be questioned and detained. Rush might not be the only one in trouble over this thing.

The privacy excuse is completely ridiculous. Privacy is protected under HIPAA. No pharmacist in his or her right mind would leak it if Rush was on Viagra. Rush could sue the hell out of anyone leaking it and the pharmacy/doctor's office, and those folks could lose their licenses.

And I wonder if you look up the marketing managers, JWT Inc, that you may find it connected back to the Gerbil!!!!

I am SURE everything connects back to the Gerbil!!! Because you can tell, there is too much money involved again!

Also why bradblog or no one cover the PFIZER incident going on with Huffington Post I wonder...? Or the voting fraud Jeff Fisher found..?

Voting fraud en-masse...

Something stinks in the so called 'progressives', what is known neocon trolls Al Rogers, John "Dean and Nan Ellen doing all over the DailyKOS, Bradblog, etc?

Covering up for their crony clients!!!!! THIS WHOLE THING IS A SHAM, the neocons play both sides and put up their advertisers....then they can steal elections for either party.

Why their friends are the ones stealing the elections, so they never blog about it, write about it, or say a word!!!! They don't even care!

NOW we know why the Gerbil is such a good coverup artist, but the big crime is getting exposed including all the fake shills..!

"SPB--Hate to burst your bubble, but Pfizer sponsors just about everybody." Yes, I do know Night Owl that Pfizer sponsors everyone else besides Rush because it is business not just a pharmacutical business. Pfizer's name of the game is money and so is Merck. The documentary "The Corporation" (which I saw and brought the DVD) does an examination into companies such as Merck and Pfizer and how they got around lawsuits and how they profit. I was just pointing out other pharmacutical companies that do sponsor Rush as an example that this is just a business. Many of the companies today have gotten away from what they are truly marketing and the consumer's bottomline and simply are looking for profits. I am sure that Rush got free Viagra from Pfizer. I know that comedians are going to have field day over this.. But , I am sure that mentioned Viagra with the attachment of Rush's name will surely have the Pfizer's shareholders talking! We don't need to call Dr. Quack. He may be taken the blue pill!

But those who have seen it had the same general impression: Gore conveyed the science correctly; the world is getting hotter and it is a manmade catastrophe-in-the-making caused by the burning of fossil fuels.
"Excellent," said William Schlesinger, dean of the Nicholas School of Environment and Earth Sciences at Duke University. "He got all the important material and got it right."

Folks,

In other news:

From Thinkprogress:

Murtha Attacked by the Right For Quote Falsely Attributed to Him

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported on Sunday that Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) had claimed that the United States is the greatest threat to peace in the world:
American presence in Iraq is more dangerous to world peace than nuclear threats from North Korea or Iran, U.S. Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., said to a crowd of more than 200 in North Miami Saturday afternoon.

2. Hmmm. This is interesting why WSJ are not being attacked by the Gerbil:

Furthermore, as Media Matters for America noted, Journal deputy editorial page editor Daniel Henninger criticized the Times for printing the NSA wiretap story on at least two separate occasions. In his February 10 Journal column, Henninger wrote: "[H]ere's the bottom line on the surveillance program. It was going to work, and help lessen the chance of another atrocity in our America, only if it stayed secret. The odds of it staying secret would diminish as its existence spread through the Congress and judicial system. Now it is public, and its utility is about zero." Then, on the February 12 edition of Fox News' Journal Editorial Report, Henninger said "[T]his program's dead no matter what FISA [the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] thinks of it. You can't tell me that Al Qaeda is still making phone calls in and out of the United States after watching what's been going on in the Senate for two weeks."
The question for Henninger and the Journal now is whether they will stay mum, given that the Journal's own news division reported as follows: "[T]he U.S. Treasury Department has been secretly tracking suspected terrorist financing through a far-reaching program that gives it access to records from the network that handles nearly all international financial transfers."
On June 27, Editor & Publisher magazine raised a similar question of the Journal:
The paper's Editorial Page Editor Paul Gigot declined to comment when asked if he planned to editorialize on the Journal's decision to publish the story, saying in an e-mail message through [Journal spokesman Robert] Christie that he does not discuss pending editorial subjects. Whatever he produces will be interesting, given the paper's conservative and pro-Bush editorial line.

And notice how corrupted Congress, Senate, politicans, lawmakers, journalists. corporations, and so on. But, in order to stop the milk machine called money, you have to connect the dots of the major players who are involved in the leak case, Abramoff, DeLay, etc. The corruption is much more deeper than people imagined.. But it is the American people that have to step up to plate if they want to take back their country. But, more and more lies are surfacing and will be revealed. And with the Iraqi gov't wantingto evict the soldier out of Iraq, little by little the Gerbil's agenda is foiling...

RE: Limpballs and Viagra

Any physician who wrote a prescription for a patient under his own name (the docs) would be putting his medical license on the line.

A prescription is a legal medical document and is subpoenable in a court of law.

RE: Hippa - absolutely right. Patient confidentiality is absolutely covered with pharmacies. Violations result in penalties exceeding $10,000 (I believe it may be more).

Anyone in the medical field is very very aware of Hippa - and it IS enforced rigidly.

There also seems to be some question as to whether it was Viagra in the bottle. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to replace blue Viagra with blue OxyContin (Limpballs drug of choice). Both are blue although shaped differently.

If the physician did write a script for Limpballs under his own name - his license had better be gone. This story has much to watch - and is very very curious.

The June 27, 2006 Associated Press (AP) article titled “Scientists OK Gore’s Movie for Accuracy” by Seth Borenstein raises some serious questions about AP’s bias and methodology.

AP chose to ignore the scores of scientists who have harshly criticized the science presented in former Vice President Al Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth.”

In the interest of full disclosure, the AP should release the names of the “more than 100 top climate researchers” they attempted to contact to review “An Inconvenient Truth.” AP should also name all 19 scientists who gave Gore “five stars for accuracy.” AP claims 19 scientists viewed Gore’s movie, but it only quotes five of them in its article. AP should also release the names of the so-called scientific “skeptics” they claim to have contacted.

Dumbya is gonna hear about it in the Upcoming G-8 Meeting...

Chirac set to push climate change, unity at G-8 meet

Click Source

June 27 French President Jacques Chirac said environmental issues and global unity will top his agenda at a meeting next month of leaders of the Group of Eight industrial nations.

“ G-8 summits should not be a ‘rich people’s club’ but should unite emerging countries and poor countries to establish dialogue and cooperation,’’ he said after meeting with trade unions and non-governmental organisations ahead of the gathering in St. Petersburg, Russia, according to a document distributed by his staff.

Leaders of the nations that account for two-thirds of the global economy agreed last year to double aid to Africa to $50 billion a year by 2010, part of a package of measures aimed at relieving poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Leaders should firm up commitments to fight Aids and other illnesses and to fund education in Africa, he said.

Chirac urged a ‘strong mobilisation’ of world leaders in the fight against climate change, saying he will remind his counterparts of the need to prepare for post-2012 when the Kyoto accord runs out, according to the document. US President George W Bush in 2001 renounced the Kyoto Protocol setting targets for reducing the emissions of pollutants blamed for global warming, and has refused to discuss such limits. The other G-8 members - France, Britain, Japan, Germany, Italy, Canada and Russia - signed up to Kyoto and are moving ahead with emissions curbs.

At last year’s meeting in Gleneagles, Scotland, chaired by UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, leaders vowed to keep talking about combating global warming, admitting they failed to agree what’s needed to halt climate change. G-8 countries will reach an accord on energy security by their July summit, Andrei Kondakov, head of the economic cooperation department at Russia’s foreign ministry and part of the team planning the summit, said on June 15.

The meeting comes amid Western concerns over the reliability of Russia as an energy supplier following supply cuts to Ukraine in January that caused shortages in Europe. President Vladimir Putin said on June 20 the G-7 nations are cautious about Russian investment in their energy industries.

The G-8 joint declaration is designed to identify the main energy challenges facing the club of rich countries, which includes producers and consumers, and how to deal with them.

What a bunch of crap. I agree that the IRS should go after the pimps, in particular the "financial" pimps who illegally grease the wheels of politics. There is no reason to spend lots of IRS resources going after the pimps that Grassley talks about. Let the local Vice squads take care of them.

The article is misleading when it states that the prostitutes are automatically considered the employees of their pimps. Many years ago I was involved in a civil suit which presented the question of whether prostitutes were independent contractors or employees for purposes of employment taxes. While there were some interesting depositions, the answer to the question was not as clear cut as you might think. And even if the prostitutes are considered employees, the "employer" is the one who pays them their "wages". If the customer pays the prostitute directly, the customer is considered the "employer" and must file an employment tax return (even if the prostitute then pays some of the money to the pimp). So is Grassley going to have the IRS chase down the customers for failing to file employment tax returns?

Unbelievable. I guess Grassley would rather have the IRS do the work of local vice squads instead of investigating Grover and his crowd.
