Wiki Wiki..!

will someone please update the Wikipedia web page on me, especially under the "Plame Affair?"

The following section needs no updating. ;)

Personal Life
Fitzgerald is unmarried. Reports indicate that despite being universally seen as extremely competent, intelligent, and meticulous in his work, behind the scenes he is ironically messy, scatterbrained, and fun-loving. His desk and his office are kept in permanent disarray, with assistants discovering drawers stuffed with socks. He once forgot to hook up gas to his apartment for several months, and also forgot a lasagna he had cooked in the oven for several months before finally rediscovering it there. He is known to work well past midnight often and to sleep in his office. He enjoys beer, basketball, and practical jokes. Once when a colleague was nervously waiting for an answer for a judge on a motion, Fitzgerald wrote and delivered a goof court opinion to the colleague. He tried for several months to adopt a cat, but was refused due to his work habit. He finally found a friend in Florida with a cat to give away and flew there from New York to pick up the cat. Fitzgeralds personal quirks have been used by the press during his investigation of the Plame affair. His idiosyncracies and workaholic nature are most often portrayed as a evidence of non-partisan integrity.

That part sounds like a carbon copy of my husband...and his desk and office are still in permanent disarray...I cringe whenever I have to see it...

Hey Ftzie, Wiki does need to update your profile...they forgot to say that you are HOT! I guess they didn't consult Paris...LOL

Well, that and the media need to be updated..

I'm pretty sure that there more people out there besides Fitz who work pass midnight and sleep in their office! I, too, keep a messy desk but do you think I should alert the media on that? LOL! The media wants to know Fitz's personal life when they really don't know Patrick Fitzgerald as a person.. All in the koolaid and don't know the flavor!

Anyway, just gotten to watch V for Vendetta. Two big thums up for the movie... It is a a bit scary that the movie is so close to home with a lot of themes such as dictatorship, spying, lack of freedom to the public etc... And the facist party or one sided party depicted in the movie is really what the Gerbil wants: a one sided party... Interesting that V is a terrorist who can be depicted as a foe or an enemy.. And of course, the Gerbil still doesn't know the defintion of a terrorist!

I was able to watch the Spike Lee Katrina documentary today. It really brought me to tears...all the people just left to drown.

One of my friend's brother went to New Orleans during the Katrina disaster...he is a Minister and yes, they're African-American. The stories he told her...which she relayed to me were beyond sad. He was overwhelmed with the dead bodies and the people crying out for help.

However, seeing it all in the documentary today was a tear jerker!!

Roger gets on a plane and finds himself seated next to a scholar. He immediately turns to him and makes his move. "You know," says Roger "I've heard flights will go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger. So let's talk." The scholar who had just opened his book closes it slowly and says to Roger, "What would you like to discuss?" "Oh, I don't know" says Roger, smiling "global politics" "OK," says the scholar, "that could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow and a deer all eat the same stuff... grass. Yet the deer excretes little pellets, the cow turns out a flat patty and the horse produces muffins of dried poop. Why do you suppose that is?" Roger is dumbfounded. Finally he replies "I haven't the slightest idea." "So tell me," says the scholar, "how is it you feel qualified to discuss global politics when you don't know shit?"

The media has nothing better else to do then to continue talking about Fitz's personal life. At least, he is honest and not like Rove with closet stories. As for him being single, the right lady will come along as most in the White House and reporting have Exs and mistresses to their portfolio. As most single people, cooking is not a priority for one and for professional people, they are more concern of getting the job done right then where they left their socks. If the media paid more attention to the CIA leak case and follow the dates ofthe crimes committed and less time on Fitgerald's personal life, maybe the case would be over.

Go Olbermann!

Olbermann Hits Post for Discrediting Wilson, Scarborough Hits Times for Not Doing It

After referring to the Washington Post's "curious conclusion" during his Countdown show's teaser, Olbermann, who has in the past referred to Wilson and other administration critics as "whistleblowers," later plugged the segment by referring back to the "good times" when the Post supported government employees who "dared to reveal important information."
Olbermann: "Remember when the Washington Post used to support government employees who dared to reveal important information? Ah, good times."
As he introdued the segment, the Countdown host labeled as "startling" the Post editorial's conclusions that the charge of an "orchestrated leak" of Valerie Plame's identity was untrue, and that Wilson was himself responsible for his wife's identity being leaked by drawing attention to himself and attracting scrutiny.
Olbermann quoted the Post's conclusions and mocked the reasoning behind them: "Today, the Washington Post editorial page draws two startling conclusions from this. One, 'It follows that one of the most sensational charges leveled against the Bush White House -- that it orchestrated the leak of Ms. Plame's identity to ruin her career and thus punish Mr. Wilson -- is untrue.' If you took Logic 101, you'd know it not only does not follow, it doesn't even hang out with. Armitage's supposed inadvertance might send the orchestra home, but it has no impact on the obvious opportunity the White House seized to discredit Wilson via his wife. But even more shocking, perhaps, the Post's second conclusion the real person most responsible for the end of Ms. Plame's CIA career is Mr. Wilson, not even Dennis the Menace's neighbor, that would have made more sense, Joe Wilson."
Olbermann soon brought aboard Wilson and Plame's attorney, Melanie Sloan, for a one-sided interview to argue that the editorial was "completely inaccurate" as she defended Wilson and Plame.

"Islamic bombers wouldn't have been speaking russian and wearing aftershave, experts report."

Experts? And just what were these people experts in, the lastest flavors of ice cream at Baskin Robbins? Hmm, turn the clock back to say, 1985 when the Soviet Union still existed, many of the people involved in Beslan were kids in the schools, and what language did they get taught? RUSSIAN. All Chechens as well as everyone else in the Soviet Union (except for Nenets, Enets, etc. living in remote northern Siberia and Kamchatka) learned Russian.

Yes, Chechens involved with Shamil Basaev invaded the school and took hostages. Basaev said so himself, repeatedly. The only thing the Russians (the real ethnic Russian ones, not Chechens who got stuck learning Russian like it was their 'native' language) are hiding is that they BOTCHED the rescue mission when they snuck in the explosives in the ambulance. They had planned on getting some of those kids out alive, but I already knew that none of the hostage takers were coming out alive. See the FSB's action at the Moscow Theater for reference.

9:00 PM
Blogger Kay Shelton said...

I almost forgot to comment on this passage:

"There is no confirmation of Arab involvement, despite the story the Russian government tells ó a tale backed by what is probably pressured testimony from the sole surviving hostage-taker. Nor is there information on the role played by "international terrorists," or about a motive other than forcing Russia to pull its troops out of Chechnya."

All one has to do here is follow the money. . . . Oh, it leads through people in Syria, BTW. And yes, there are very small numbers of folks running around from Arab countries.

Also, the Chechen independence movement started by D. Dudaev and which originally had the goal of keeping the Russians out eventually literally got 'hijacked' by Basaev and company and it split into two major groups, what became Basaev's violent jihadist movement and A. Maskhadov's independence movement. That leaves one other major group, the current 'official' leadership of Chechnya, Moscow's sock puppets.

Casey spanked Scrotum in a debate, And I mean, spank, spank, spank!

Early consensus, Bob Casey beat Rick Santorum in debate

Santorum: George Bush is a 'terrific president' and Donald Rumsfeld is doing a great job. Neither should be fired. There are still WMD in Iraq even if the Bush administration says there aren't. Casey doesn't provide specifics on, well, anything and is a tax and spend liberal, who could not explain how he would cut the federal deficit or pay for new programs he backs.

Casey: Santorum is a George Bush clone/rubber stamp who won't change directions or ask tough questions on Iraq. He doesn't even live in Pennsyltucky, won't take a position on the state legislative pay hike and votes himself raises but won't raise the minimum wage. Oh, and he voted against anything and everything that would benefit Pennsyltucky.

There are very few in the Congress and Senate that deserve to be there.

The people running for office should be made to take tests like their "Children Left Behind" act and let a panel of everyday citizens ask the questions. Citizens that have more concerns then playing the "politics" game. It would seem people are damn sick of that and cover-ups for the past several decades.

Thinking people don't remember is a mistake, pulling a 'fast one' on people will not work anymore.

I think anyone visiting this blog believes Mr. Fitzgerald on the leak case, period. The MSM is doing the bidding of their corporate owners, or Bushco., people lost respect and trust in their government in all areas. Not that all the people are "bad" either. Now can you really blame people with all the lies and cover-ups? There are bad people in every walk of life...they just happened to be at the top in a lot of countries right now.

I rarely see anyone saying anything nice about Arabs, Afghanistan people and the Iraqi people. Personally I like to see Senator Feingold running for President, or Cynthia McKinney...at least they had the guts to try and fight the B.S. but they probably aren't corrupt enough for "politics". MOHO.

I would imagine the majority in Israel don't care much for their leaders either.

Report: Medicare-Medicaid director McClellan to resign

WASHINGTON -- Mark McClellan, the Texan who administers the federal Medicare and Medicaid programs, is set to resign, sources familiar with his decision said yesterday.

An economist and physician, McClellan is the older brother of former White House press secretary Scott McClellan. Their mother is Texas Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn of Austin, a Republican running as an independent for governor

Another source, also speaking on the condition of anonymity, said McClellan had been considering whether to move on for some time and would probably pursue new opportunities in the private sector or in academia.
He was appointed administrator of Medicare and Medicaid by President Bush in early 2004 after a stint as commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration. Earlier, he had worked in the White House on health care issues as a member of the President's Council of Economic Advisers.

Privet Tvorische Roger, you *so* asked for this . . . .
>;-)

Yes, there were a couple of apartment bombs in Moscow that Chechens do not claim responsibility for and those got pinned on them but they did the rest, and they claimed responsibility for those. Unlike bin Laden, Basaev gave very frequent news interviews, and he was arrogant enough to give a press conference or two here and there! The FSB was behind the fake kavkaz Web site and behind having the servers in Sweden impounded, so they could set up the fake kavkaz Web site. Human Rights Watch has criticized the Russian government for torturing Chechens under investigation but OMON forces were responsible for most of that. Do you know what OMON is? But the rest were done by Chechens. Don’t you dare tell me next that the FSB or the Mossad or anybody besides Basaev and his group was behind the 1995 hospital raid in Buddenovsk, or the raids in Minralny Vody, the multiple raids into Dagestan, and/or the almost simultaneous plane bombings. Innocent people died in all those, and when people make up stories then that becomes disrespectful to the dead. Dudaev started a reasonable independence movement but it quickly changed as Basaev gained more power.

Chechens are not Arabs, BTW, and at the most, there were probably only around 200 or so total actual Arabs running around who came into Chechnya in the late 1990s. Many of them left and went to Iraq. But, you did not answer my question, where did the Chechens get the money? How about another, where did they get the arms? How did those arms get into Chechnya?

Roger, how many years have you spent studying the events in Chechnya? How many actual Chechens have you met? How many journalists and researchers who are experts on Chechnya have you met? How many books have you read, in English and in Russian? How many news reports have you read on Chechnya, from several international sources, for how many years? How many research reports have you read? How many Web sites have you looked at other than the ones that already say what you want to hear?

Most Americans do not know too much about Chechnya, which is a shame because more than 100,000 people have died there over the past few years and it explains a lot of Putin’s behavior since 9/11/2001. He was the first international leader to call Bush (shortly after the reading of My Pet Goat) and he offered to help the U.S. with terrorism in exchange for help with Chechnya but Bush turned him down. Putin has been pissed off for years about that, and uncooperative.

BTW, since Basaev’s encounter with the explosives, the numbers of kidnappings, acts of violence, bad stuff, etc. dropped while the FSB is still around. Hmmmm. Please explain that one, Roger.

Anonymous, good called on the Jamestown Foundation. I figured Roger would be the last person citing that source. When I want to know the take the conservatives have on the issues, I go straight to that source. ;-)

MEXICO CITY - Mexico's national electoral court announced Monday it will convene on Tuesday to announce its decision over the disputed July 2 presidential elections.

The Federal Electoral Tribunal could declare a president-elect or annul the vote during its session.

Supporters of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador have camped out in the heart of the capital since July 30 to protest the official version of results from the July 2 vote, which gave ruling party candidate Felipe Calderon a narrow lead of about 244,000 votes.

Last month, a partial recount overseen by the seven judges reduced Calderon's advantage by only 4,000 votes.

Republican ads show distance from Bush
By DAVID HAMMER, Associated Press Writer
Mon Sep 4, 6:50 AM ET

WASHINGTON - Republicans who were once cozy with President Bush are distancing themselves from both the president and their party in campaign ads.

Consider Rep. Deborah Pryce (news, bio, voting record), the fourth-ranking House Republican struggling to hold onto her seat in an evenly split district in central Ohio, near Columbus.

In 2004, her campaign Web site featured a banner of her and Bush sitting together, smiling. But in her latest television ad, Pryce is described as "independent." The spot also highlights how she "stood up to her own party" and the president to support increased federal funds for embryonic stem-cell research.
