Time for Prez to pardon Libby
By Boston Herald editorial staff
Sunday, September 3, 2006

Now that the top deputy to then-Secretary of State Colin Powell has admitted he was the source of the revelation that Valerie Plame worked for the CIA, the case against Lewis “Scooter” Libby has become too trivial to pursue.
President Bush should pardon Libby, who was chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney until he was indicted on charges that he misled investigators and a grand jury about his conversations with reporters on the Plame story. (Libby asserts that he was so busy he simply misremembered who said what to whom about who sent Plame’s husband, former Ambassador Joe Wilson, on an intelligence mission about Saddam Hussein’s hunt for uranium - a mission whose findings Wilson lied about.)

Chances of a conviction in Libby’s January trial, never good, are now nil. The special prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald, already has said no crime was committed in the disclosure of Plame’s identity. Why force Libby to keep the lawyer’s billing meter ticking? <more drivel>

Yeah, that makes sense. Why else would the Boston Herald ignore clear evidence of wrong doing by Libby except that they are pissed off at all New Yorkers. ;)

All this support from Libby's friends isn't helping him. I heard one support say he lied a little but Bush should pardon him. If lying just a little under oath to the grand jury and FBI is good enough to be pardon for a crime Libby says he didn't commit well all the people in jail will file on their appeals that they to lied a little so they can be released. Abramoff and Cunningham will be next to say what they did wasn't take bad so they will be pardon. Now as for a man who said he hated the invasion of Iraq he will be in jail for the rest of his natural life because that a big crime in America but lying isn't that bad under this new rulership of King George.

re: the Drivel...

I think all of this drivel in the media reminds me of the "As Seen on TV" ads

...it is those useless products that no one needs, but millions of people buy!!!

...it's the Ginsu Knife...the Veg-O-Matic...the Clapper...the Smokeless Ashtray...the Armitage Outing...

...it's tomorrow's trash. That Chris Hitchens does remind me of Ron Popeil hawking his wares (no offense intended to Ron)...

Good Afternoon Justice Bloggers and Fitzie!

Ok Fitz enough of the baseball stuff. Let's talk remakes up dated movie All the President's men. Now your role will be played by Denzel Washington yes I said it. Oh Denzel is so fine I just like watching him walk. Now who cares who plays the other roles. Oh Bob Woodward can play himself this time. Notice it's no longer about the crimes committed it's all about you the Prosecutor who let the idiots tell on themselves and who do they blame right you. Now when you think about it if they hadn't lied in the first place you would never have had a case to investigate. Oh yes and lying to the FBI and under oath to the grand jury just a little might not be a crime as the new King George sees his new Constitution. Look for Abramoff/Cunningham to say they to lied a little so Bush can set them free.

And don't forget the President, S-Q. Since Bush has issued more than 800 signing statements since July of 2006. And the ABA report called on Congress to exert more oversight and empower the courts to review presidential signing statements because the president is ignoring or not enforcing our laws!!!

Throw them all out! Okay that's my Sunday rant...

Hello Everyone!

The topic of discussion is the Gerbil to pardon the smurf??? Please....

Go Yankees!!

I had the get that out of the way.. Anyway, back to smurf drama.. Bill Kristol (Woodward half brother or lookalike)said that the smurf told a "little lie." Now, folks don't laugh to what I 'm about to say. but, I really want to tell the asswipe. That is like saying to a woman that is pregnant: is she a little bit pregnant or is she a lot pregnant? Folks, for a woman, you are either pregnant or not pregnant! (BTW, my girlfriend gave me that analogy). In the smurf's case, the smurf either lied or didn't lie.. With friends like Kristol, who needs enemies?? Libby lied and did wrong and he will suffer the consequences for his actions. End of story.. And the media has nothing to do.. They screwed on the John Kerr. So, my advise to the media is go talk to Jason Leopold and ask for help on how to do good reporting.

Oh...look at this now!

"You know what I'm gonna tell those Jews when I get to Israel, don't you Herman?" a then Governor George W. Bush allegedly asked a reporter for the Austin American-Statesman.

When the journalist, Ken Herman, replied that he did not know, Bush reportedly delivered the punch line: "I'm telling 'em they're all going to hell."

The smurf is hosed!! I just wonder if there is a children size orange jumpsuit ready for the smurf.. The dumbass should have plea bargain with Fitz.. Too little too late.. What makes Libby stupid is he is a lawyer. Picture this: a lawyer, Libby, is taken advice from incompetent ass President that don't know where Iraq is on the map and don't know his ABCs to stay the course in his case!!! Libby's lawyers will bleed him dry from attorney's fees and the Gerbil will kick him to the curb and hang him dry.

The "Rummy Resign" chant is getting louder...

"State Senator Thomas H. Kean Jr., the Republican nominee for United States Senate in New Jersey, says he is so frustrated with the Bush administration’s handling of the war in Iraq that he is pushing for something that few Republicans have supported: the resignation of Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld.

...Mr. Kean said that he had become dissatisfied over the summer with what he said was Mr. Rumsfeld’s refusal to consider “competing points of view.”

But what compelled him to advocate publicly for a “fresh face” leading the troops, Mr. Kean said, were Mr. Rumsfeld’s recent remarks chiding critics of the war for “moral and intellectual confusion,” and comparing them to those who advocated appeasing Nazi Germany in the 1930’s.

“By engaging in that kind of rhetoric, this secretary has stepped over the line,” Mr. Kean said."

S-Q Somehow I can imagine Bush saying something anti-semetic...his sorry @ss should be caught

***********************************

Bill Kristol is saying Bush should give Libby a pardon now...

over my dead body...

If Bush pardons Libby, I will be on the White House lawn with my two-year-old son screaming...and I hope they don't arrest my @ss!!!

Because we never seem to know who the real enemy is anymore and 5 years have past with thousands killed in an illegal war.

If someone is fixing to get charged in the leak case then people wonder what else was lied about and so forth. Posted because thousands have lost their lives and for what? A damn gang of thieves, drug smugglers and radicals. Research it yourself.

If there wasn't a pattern of the "tapes" whenever W. gets into a pickle, people wouldn't wonder.

anonymous,
full story about Adam Gadahn, a very worthwhile read

Isn't the question really why was an admitted Zionist from one of these cults, allowed to lead an Al-Quaeda mission and sponsor attacks on TV?

""We invite all Americans and unbelievers to Islam," Gadahn said in Saturday's video, dressed in a white robe and turban with a long, thick black beard and a computer terminal in the background.

Gadahn, a 28-year-old American from California who converted to Islam, is wanted by the FBI in connection with possible terrorist threats against the United States.

In May 2004, the U.S. government announced that Gadahn was suspected of attending an al Qaeda training camp and working as a translator for the group. Investigators have said that Gadahn, who grew up on a farm in California, converted to Islam as a teen and moved to Pakistan.

It would be the first time Gadahn has appeared in a video released by al Qaeda. He is believed to be a masked figure who appeared in two previous videos not officially from al Qaeda, given to the American television network ABC in Pakistan in 2004 and a few days before Sept. 11, 2005.

In 2004, Gadahn's father, Philip, said that he was baffled by the allegation his son was an al Qaeda operative, saying he has spoken to his son only occasionally in recent years but still can't imagine that he would be involved with a terrorist network.

Gadahn spoke for much of the video released Saturday, saying he wanted to correct the incorrect image Americans have of Islam.

He described the West as "the civilization which enslaved Africa, slaughtered native Americans, fired bombs at ... Tokyo and (the Iraqi city of) Fallujah and nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki."

He said it shows more concern for archaeological sites, like statues of Bhudda destroyed by Afghanistan's former Taliban rulers, "than it shows of the people of Afghanistan and Iraq."

He said "ignorance" of Islam "causes the people of the West to rapturously applaud when Israel perpetrates wholesale slaughter of Muslims in Lebanon and Palestine and leads them to give their consent to the atrocities that governments commit in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere in the Muslim world."

The video, issued by al Qaeda's production wing As-Sahab, had been advertised on militant Web sites for several days before it appeared Saturday.

Besides the July 7 video, Gadahn is believed to be a masked figure who appeared in two previous videos not officially from al Qaeda, given to the American television network ABC in Pakistan in 2004 and a few days before Sept. 11, 2005. "

We should probably question whenever we see a terrorist, whether they are really an Islamic fanatic or if they are a hoaxer working for the criminals who run the pentagon.

It's only natural to question, and investigate liars.

We have reason to believe that former Gen. Tommy Franks (a zionist Jew) has joined the "Al Queda" and is taking acting lessons to appear in future videos with Gadahn.

Well, that depends what Libby will bring to the table.

If Libby can bring concrete evidence that Cheney was the mastermind of the plan to discredit Wilson and the Gerbil was indirectly involved in the leak case, Rove's involvement in the case and Cheney gave Libby the orders to leak the in to the reporter, then Fitz should cut a deal.. I am type of person to go for the jugular and that is Cheney!!! If Libby just admit that he did leak info to reporter and give no info on Cheney and the others, then no deal for Libby.. Do I sound harsh? Anyway, Libby has to deliver the goods before any deal is given....

Why do I keep wondering if Joe Wilson was sent to Niger to out Valerie Plame in the first place? Was it that Valerie Plame wasn't a team cheerleader with what she knew about Iran and WMDs? Did they know Joe Wilson/ Valerie Plame may have had enough to bring down BushCo?
