Not To Be Left Out - The N.Y. Times Weighs In...

didn't that Administration shill Judy Miller once "report" for them?

New Questions About Inquiry in C.I.A. Leak and We Are Still Clueless

WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 — An enduring mystery of the C.I.A. leak case has been solved in recent days, but with a new twist: Patrick J. Fitzgerald, the prosecutor, knew the identity of the leaker from his very first day in the special counsel’s chair, but kept the inquiry open for nearly two more years before indicting I. Lewis Libby Jr., Vice President Dick Cheney’s former chief of staff, on obstruction charges.
Between you and me, I prefer the Daily News and The N. Y. Post anyway. ;)

Here we go again.. Here is my battle cry: the media is a sleep at the wheel and Jason stayed two steps ahead of the media...From the NY Times:

"An enduring mystery of the C.I.A. leak case has been solved in recent days, but with a new twist: Patrick J. Fitzgerald, the prosecutor, knew the identity of the leaker from his very first day in the special counsel’s chair, but kept the inquiry open for nearly two more years before indicting I. Lewis Libby Jr., Vice President Dick Cheney’s former chief of staff, on obstruction charges," writes David Johnston for the Times.

From Jason's article on April 3, 2006:

The special counsel appointed in late December 2003 to investigate the leak of covert CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson found out the identity of the Bush administration official who disclosed her undercover status to syndicated columnist Robert Novak just two months after the probe began.

But in early February 2004, a month after he started the investigation, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald shifted gears and started to build a perjury and obstruction of justice case against White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove and Vice President Dick Cheney's former Chief of Staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby according to several attorneys close to the investigation.

That month, Justice Department investigators working on the leak case approached a senior official in the Office of Vice President Dick Cheney who had been identified by witnesses as having played a major role in the Plame Wilson leak.

Nice picture, Mr. Fitz.

My head hurts with all these spins.

Aren't you looking into other crimes if such came up in your investigations? That whole Cheney family seems evil except the kids, God help them.

Well, I did read one source awhile back that Cheney just walked into CIA headquarters then looked and took what he wanted...now that sounds like him.

"that explains faux news ratings tank!' I heard that Faux news' ratings are in the toilet.. Don't you think that the welcome mat has been worn out... People are not hipped to the crapola that Faux News gives and spreading the GOP Koolaid love.... I look for Faux News Network to disappear soon.. When the house of cards fall in thr Administration, so will Faux News! I will wait to what the rugby man's next moves in the case.. Waiting for the media to have new info on the leak case is like waiting for paint to dry...Fitz could make an announcement tonight that he spilled mustard on his poker dot boxers and the media would run like gerbils and report that story and relate that to the leak case. LOL!

I don't rememer where I read it, GEF. I've read so much stuff and my memory stinks. But, I do agree that one* should be considered one of the keys to many, many things. Ambien probably has keys to everywhere by now.

*Him and Her actually make me feel empathy for the boy. That old one fools many, keep the kids away.

anon,

yep...

Some people reach a certain age and they start eating too many crabby patties and go cynical...

Other's do that and think they can get away with anything...

Until the crimes catch up with them like Duke Cunningham fer instance...

What a great picture of the little angel. As far as the news well they'll be back as the case unfolds. Notice none of the media question why Libby and Rove lied to the grandjury. I heard today on PBS that all the insiders in Washington knew a long time ago about Armitage leaking to Novak. Now the media is trying to make it a big story as if they didn't know this information before. Well let's see how the Gerbil and his team of crooks handle this situation.
