A New Partnership Binds Old Republican Rivals

After years of competitive and often contentious dealings, President Bush and Senator John McCain of Arizona are building a deepening if impersonal relationship that is serving the political needs of both men.

Given their history of intense rivalry and sometimes personally bitter combat, their newfound partnership is seen by some Republicans as born more of political calculation than personal evolution. Either way, it could prove valuable to Mr. McCain in his efforts to win the Republican presidential nomination in 2008 by sending a signal to Mr. Bush's conservative base and fund-raising network that, at a minimum, the White House will not stand in the Arizonan's way.

Asked if she would recant her "bomb the New York Times" remark by Alan Colmes during her appearance last Thursday night on Fox News, Coulter said she stood by her comment.

"No, I think the Timothy McVeigh line was merely prescient after the New York Times has leapt beyond -- beyond nonsense straight into treason, last week," Coulter said.

Coulter was referring to what she called "the latest of a long list of formerly top-secret government anti-terrorism operations that have been revealed by the Times," noting that "last week the paper printed the details of a government program tracking terrorists' financial transactions that has already led to the capture of major terrorists and their handmaidens in the U.S."

An angry Colmes shot back with sarcasm: "This is great humor. This belongs on 'Saturday Night Live.' It belongs on 'The Daily Show.'"

Despite their upset over violence talk, neither Colmes or E&P have yet to express outrage when left-leaning figures called for the killing of prominent Republicans, including:

# During the 2000 election, "The Late Show with Craig Kilborn" showed footage of George Bush while the words "Snipers Wanted" was superimposed.

# Actor Alec Baldwin appeared on "Late Night With Conan O’Brien" and called for Republican Congressman Henry Hyde and his family to be murdered. Baldwin said: "I’m thinking to myself if we were in other countries, we would all, right now, all of us together ... would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! Wait! ... Shut up! No shut up! I’m not finished. We would stone Henry Hyde to death, and we would go to their homes and we’d kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families."

# Al Franken told Matt Lauer on NBC’s "Today” show that Karl Rove and Lewis Libby should be "executed." The comment drew a laugh from Lauer. Franken's comments drew no criticism from the major media, including NBC News.

CC- Very disturbing and that is the name of their game...when I was in Crawford, TX last summer with the Cindy Sheehan "Camp Casey" there was an incident of a military mom being interviewed by a "reporter"-while being destracted, another "reporter" asked her 6 year old his name and address and took his picture.

He had just finished kindergarten and was happy to recite those things... He proudly told his mom "I did an interview too!" We questioned him and could not find the guy who took his picture-the one who interviewed the mother was gone too. There were about 500 people around at that time.

I got the impression it was done to intimidate from speaking out against the war. Considering the long Bushworld record of doing so.

Spy Agency Sought U.S. Call Records Before 9/11, Lawyers Say
June 30 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. National Security Agency asked AT&T Inc. to help it set up a domestic call monitoring site seven months before the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, lawyers claimed June 23 in court papers filed in New York federal court.
The allegation is part of a court filing adding AT&T, the nation's largest telephone company, as a defendant in a breach of privacy case filed earlier this month on behalf of Verizon Communications Inc. and BellSouth Corp. customers. The suit alleges that the three carriers, the NSA and President George W. Bush violated the Telecommunications Act of 1934 and the U.S. Constitution, and seeks money damages.
``The Bush Administration asserted this became necessary after 9/11,'' plaintiff's lawyer Carl Mayer said in a telephone interview. ``This undermines that assertion.''
The lawsuit is related to an alleged NSA program to record and store data on calls placed by subscribers. More than 30 suits have been filed over claims that the carriers, the three biggest U.S. telephone companies, violated the privacy rights of their customers by cooperating with the NSA in an effort to track alleged terrorists.
``The U.S. Department of Justice has stated that AT&T may neither confirm nor deny AT&T's participation in the alleged NSA program because doing so would cause `exceptionally grave harm to national security' and would violate both civil and criminal statutes,'' AT&T spokesman Dave Pacholczyk said in an e-mail.
U.S. Department of Justice spokesman Charles Miller and NSA spokesman Don Weber declined to comment.
Pioneer Groundbreaker
The NSA initiative, code-named ``Pioneer Groundbreaker,'' asked AT&T unit AT&T Solutions to build exclusively for NSA use a network operations center which duplicated AT&T's Bedminster, New Jersey facility, the court papers claimed. That plan was abandoned in favor of the NSA acquiring the monitoring technology itself, plaintiffs' lawyers Bruce Afran said.
The NSA says on its Web site that in June 2000, the agency was seeking bids for a project to ``modernize and improve its information technology infrastructure.'' The plan, which included the privatization of its ``non-mission related'' systems support, was said to be part of Project Groundbreaker.
Mayer said the Pioneer project is ``a different component'' of that initiative.
Mayer and Afran said an unnamed former employee of the AT&T unit provided them with evidence that the NSA approached the carrier with the proposed plan. Afran said he has seen the worker's log book and independently confirmed the source's participation in the project. He declined to identify the employee.
Stop Suit
On June 9, U.S. District Court Judge P. Kevin Castel in New York stopped the lawsuit from moving forward while the Federal Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation in Washington rules on a U.S. request to assign all related telephone records lawsuits to a single judge.
Robert Varettoni, a spokesman for Verizon, said he was unaware of the allegations against AT&T and declined to comment.
Earlier this week, he issued a statement on behalf of the company that Verizon had not been asked by the NSA to provide customer phone records from either its hard-wired or wireless networks. Verizon also said that it couldn't confirm or deny ``whether it has any relationship to the classified NSA program.''
Mayer's lawsuit was filed following a May 11 USA Today report that the U.S. government was using the NSA to monitor domestic telephone calls. Earlier today, USA Today said it couldn't confirm its contention that BellSouth or Verizon had contracts with the NSA to provide a database of domestic customer phone call records.
Jeff Battcher, a spokesman for Atlanta-based BellSouth, said that vindicated the company.
``We never turned over any records to the NSA,'' he said in a telephone interview. ``We've been clear all along that they've never contacted us. Nobody in our company has ever had any contact with the NSA.''
The case is McMurray v. Verizon Communications Inc., 06cv3650, in the Southern District of New York.

Rumsfeld subpoenaed over Abu Ghraib

WASHINGTON — A Congressional committee subpoenaed Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on Friday at the request of U.S. Rep. Christopher Shays.

Shays, R-4, sought the subpoena after the Pentagon refused to answer questions regarding allegations that an Army whistleblower faced retaliation for discussing abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison.

Shays, chairman of the House Government Reform subcommittee on national security, is investigating allegations made by Army Spec. Samuel Provance that his attempts to provide information to investigators about prison abuses were rebuffed and that he then was retaliated against for providing unclassified information to the media.

"The bottom line is it's critical that our oversight inquiries be taken seriously by executive branch departments and that we get timely access to the information we need to do our job," Shays said.

"Today we are demanding that the Department of Defense provide information that is critical to our investigation."

In March, Shays and Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., the ranking Democrat on the committee, sent a letter to Rumsfeld seeking information related to testimony Provance provided the subcommittee a month earlier.

The letter went unanswered.

Since the blogs are PUBLIC, it just seems like another way to try and strike "fear" into the American public, bloggers specifically.
The Rabid Rapturers are morally bankrupt idiots. The Travel Section articles are done/planned WEEKS/MONTHS in advance, so the NYT running the pictures Sunday was hardly done to "expose" them to (insert spooky music here) Al-Qaeda.

Lieberman is going to run as an "Independent Democrat" when he loses the Primary.

After sucking face with Bush, (or from the picture, licking armpits), he figures he has to do something. It does however require that he collect 7,500 SIGNATURES to present the day AFTER the primary ...his concern is that asking people to sign his petitions is going to ANNOY people.

I'm back from jury duty and the Judge gave points of what it means to be an American and how lucky we are to live in this country. It was nice because of tomorrow being the 4th July and a reminder of why and how this country was formed. We sometimes forget this is the people's country not a elected official. He remind all of us that the people's will be done not a President or other elected official. Now to read SPB's current news up date yes the bottom line.

The Joe and John Excellent Adventure gang have a lot to lose if they don't strike to the Gerbil. That is why the 3 amigos are sticking together like peas and carrots. And I wasn't surprised that Holy Joe was going Independent.. The bloggers on Americablog were already for Lieberman if he went Independent or ran as a Democrat. But, Lieberman has to stick with the Gerbil because of his ties to Enron. And McCain has some type of political favors with the Gerbil.. But, their "love" for the Gerbil have put both their political careers in a real jeopardy.. And I hope Rep. Joe Dunn out in Calfornia will expose Lieberman as his part in the Enron electricity scam in California real soon...

I'm still trying to read the entire Hersh article because of interruptions here. Dumbya & Ambien's plans for Iran are sooo scary...

Jackie - some years ago I sat on a Jury panel and the Judge was great -- he gave us all a good lecture going back to the Magna Carta and why our country's legal system was so important (but I think a few slept through it)...we had many people trying to get off jury duty...

We do live in a great nation...it just needs some cleaning up in the WH and Congress...But you have to love the everyday people who make this country work!

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Federal authorities are investigating how Yale accounts for millions of dollars in government research grants, school officials said Monday.

Yale received three subpoenas last week from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Defense Department and National Science Foundation seeking grant documents. Authorities also have been interviewing university employees about accounting issues.

In an e-mail to faculty and staff on Friday, Yale President Richard Levin urged employees to cooperate with investigators.

"Regardless of the outcome of the current investigation, we must get all our processes right and make sure that we are good stewards of the funds entrusted to us by the federal government," Levin said in a statement released Monday. "We know that we have more work to do."

The school has acknowledged it must improve its accounting process. A report by the inspector general of the Department of Health and Human Services noted in February that university procedures were not always followed or were inadequate.

The school has hired a consulting group to speed up accounting improvements.

Yale, like most large research universities, relies heavily on government grants to pay for scientific research.

“This War Sucks. I Would Have Rather Stayed Dead”

The pentagon informed the press today of their latest program that will solve the military man power problem for good.

They told reporters this morning that the first all undead infantry unit has already had great success in the combat zone.

“This platoon of walking dead was created using soldiers that have already been killed in Iraq using a sophisticated combination of scientific machines and voodoo magic.” claimed the program designer and mad scientist Dr. Cheney.

The Dark Necromancer Rumsfeld said that the zombies were nearly indestructible, can operate on no sleep and have few personal hygiene concerns.

When pressed if they could be killed by removing their heads Rummy stated that it was “a classified voodoo secret.”

Cheney wanted to make it clear that suicide or death in combat would no longer be the easy way out of military service.

“We aren’t getting enough out of these men and women who signed contracts for eight year commitments,” the evil doctor informed journalists.

There have been talks about digging up former service members who have died without fulfilling their enlistment obligations and reanimating them.

CENTCOM was hoping that these new soldiers would be the answer to a plummeting morale problem. However, it seems that not even magic can raise the spirits of our deployed personnel.

One zombie who was interviewed after attempting to go AWOL said to a zombie interpreter “This war sucks. I would have rather stayed dead.”

We asked a few still living soldiers, who share a forward operating base with this new platoon, what they thought of these zombies.

Private Snuffy explained that “They keep to themselves and can pull guard duty every shift.” But there seem to be mixed feelings as Specialist Smith told us “These guys creep me out.

They are always eating brains in the chow hall, that’s just gross,” although one alive sergeant who tried the brains said that he prefers them to MREs.

No matter if you approve of these undead warriors or not it, seems that we are going to have to get used to them, as zombie soldiers are here to stay.

Our military is sapped and we have NO draft. Bush was supposed to send over 6,000 Nat'l Guard guys to the border but could only FIND 350 to send...the rest are all in his meatgrinder called Iraq or Afghanistan which is heating up like crazy.

We also will be forced to take North Korea and Kim il Jong into consideration particularly since he is ALSO a maniac and nutjob (birds of a feather).

We are a strong and wealthy country, but we are not the World police. We are bankrupting our Treasury, our Economy is stagnant as is our job market (when Bush was inaugurated the stock market stood at 11,700 for example). We have virtually eliminated the middle class, which is good for the military because those will be the ONLY job available soon.

Bush seems thrilled to be sending young men and women into a hamburger grinder....it's like a black evil game he is playing, only it's real and it bleeds RED. But as long as he's just killing soldiers and not his own children, it doesn't matter.

Bush does NOT care about the soldiers...they are simply fodder for his ambitions. Or as was so eloquently stated, "just a number".

Lieberman and McCain want even MORE of this?

And what is amazing about the release of the Gerbil's revision of the Executive Order 13292 on March 25, 2003 is that 14 days prior to his altering the executive power to himself and Cheney is this meeting spearheaded by Cheney on March 9, 2003:

Dr. Walt Menninger said it pains him to see all the damage vandals have done.

“It's always distressing to see vandalism,” he said. “It's sad, but it's life and things come and go, in various ways.”

The property has remained vacant since the Menninger Clinic closed its Topeka operation in 2003 and moved to Houston.

“Buildings will eventually crumble, or whatever, but that institution I think, is solidly situated,” he said.

Menninger said it was important for his mission to carry on, but he also has a deep respect for the building.

“And, certainly have hopes that it will remain a significant landmark in our community,” he said.

But, Menninger said the building's in bad shape and needs a lot of work.

“At the time that we were moving out of it, it had tremendous deferred maintenance,” he said. “It's going to cost millions of dollars to fix this building up.”

And, now it will cost even more after vandals went on their spree.

“There is another owner of the building now and it's his challenge to somehow protect it,” he said.

The new owners are upset by the vandalism and said there was significant damage inside the building, as well.

They've increase security measures and police are helping them out.

“We are monitoring the area. We do routine patrols, anyway, but we are increasing our patrols in the area,” said Kristi Pankratz, Topeka Police.

The light on the front porch still shines but the doors are boarded up. Now, property owners are working to get a handle on the situation.

Police said they have had reports of kids being in the area who may be responsible. But, they're still investigating and ask if you have information on the vandalism to call police.

Yes and the child is now homeschooled-the teacher was a neo too and actually held this child back from participating in school, as mother figured out as time went on.
The teacher did not approve of the "spectacle" Cindy Sheehan was doing in Crawford and made it known from beginning of school year. Child was sick alot for unknown reasons. Not one illness since leaving classroom six months ago. Not many before that three month time in this teachers class . Principal began sitting in on class regulary, unknown to student's family.
The other school personnel were made aware of the potential threat and were protective.
But you aren't kidding, these are really bad people doing this kind of stuff

Before everyone falls off the deep end believing this one and a new conspiracy theory starts, remember she is someone who has not seen him in a really long time and it was speculation on her part. Now that she said something like that, though, I am sure some curious reporters will go digging.

One last thing, pray for our astronauts today. Someone is bent on sending up that Space Shuttle today despite a crack in the foam.

It is too bad we are spending so much money on the Iraq war. Just imagine what could have been done with NASA and science education with all that money. Education is really not valued enough by too many people. There are too many people who think we should have a country full of military bullies, not a country full of well-educated 'nerds' who can solve the world's problems using their brains. Understanding America is really easy--look no further than the school playground.

Sure, we already knew during the whole hanging chad thing in Florida that there was hanky panky. But, had Al Gore the NERD been valued more, then the election would not have been so close that some bad people could have rigged it. Rigging elections can come out successful only if the election is close. In other countries, when the election was more obviously rigged by someone who was clearly going to lose, the people rise up and the bad guy resigns.

Back to NASA: NASA was used as a case study in government bad management--there were scientists who tried to warn others about potential problems with the foam long before the last one blew up. But, that message was not heard clearly, and we had a tragedy. Someone was talking to the hand and the hand was not listening. And, some of our spy agency people tried to give warnings before 9/11, Iraq intel, etc. that went ignored by the higher ups, too.

I am still skeptical about some of the conspiracy theories but I am totally convinced there is an epidemic of people at the top of our government being arrogant, bullies (especially Rumsfeld), very poor listeners, and they will do whatever they want because they are like spoiled children (Bush). Who needs elaborate and complicated conspiracy theories when talking to those people is like talking to the hand?

in I hope an easier-to-use format. My interpretation of what is going on there based on what is in that article is different. When people become too narrowly focused, then they start to lose sight of the big picture and if that starts to happen, then something needs to change. Also, look at when that happened, it was in the past, not after Zarqawi was killed. And lastly, they are correct by saying that there are groups all over the place, and that Al Qaeda is not hierarchical. That is the big picture. There are lots of groups now inspired by him who should be considered a threat (of course, not Miami 7 wannabies. I am not 100% sure if they could find Chicago and the Sears Tower).

Being a good American on the other 364 days of the year is another matter. There aren't many established definitions for what a "good American" is supposed to say and do ... or, more accurately, there are far too many. Support the President, or not. Support the Iraq occupation, or not. Worship God, or don't. Spin the radio across the AM talk-show dial and you'll find a ready answer to the question of who and what represents a good American every other time a voice comes through the speakers.
It is better, perhaps, to nail down a specific example of a good American on this day. Since this is the Fourth, and since being both of patriotic mien and historical mind is expected, the appropriate example is best plucked from that gathering of revolutionary minds who got this whole thing going 230 years ago. Each can provide a portion of any definition of a good American, but there is one above all who accurately represents the entirety of the ideal.
Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston 300 years ago this past January. He is esteemed as perhaps the greatest of our Founding Fathers, and is the only man to have his signature on the three central documents of the republic: the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty of Paris and the Constitution. His work as a diplomat for the colonies in Paris is regarded as perhaps the most important reason why Britain lost the war, for he was the man who brought France in on our side when the chips were down.

So what is a good American? If Benjamin Franklin is to be the example, then a good American is someone brave enough to risk his life for his beliefs. A good American is an explorer of boundaries, of limits, and of possibilities. A good American seeks ideas not only to confirm his beliefs, but to risk the possibility of discovering information that shakes those beliefs to their foundations. A good American knows when to work, and knows when to have fun, and knows that the one serves and validates the other. A good American is someone who thinks.

That is what I've been wondering too about the shuttle. I've been secretly hoping it would keep raining in Florida and it would not be able to fly...since they don't seem to care enough to fix it. Bush scares me and seems to be up to something, then you read about Russia and other countries on high alert.

On the news they were harping about the billions it costs for space but yet what is the war costing each day? Again, all this media on the shuttle...makes one think Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld are up to something.

Fools blindly believe liars.

The incoming Treasury secretary, Henry M. Paulson Jr., was awarded an $18.7 million cash bonus for half a year of work as the chief executive of the Goldman Sachs Group, the company said yesterday.
In its quarterly report, Goldman said the compensation committee of its board approved the payment on June 29 in recognition of Mr. Paulson's leadership for the six months ended in May, when profit doubled to $4.79 billion.

Personally, I'm not in a mood for celebration - yet! As a matter of fact, I have a hard time understanding what people are celebrating on this day under the present circumstances. It would make more sense to me if everybody held up their firework celebrations as a protest against this administration to show the world that we do care and demand change.

Russia has every reason to be on high alert, almost none of it has anything to do with Bush.

Not only should the Space Shuttle be fixed properly, we should have had a whole new program developing new things from at least 15 years ago. Other countries are giving us a good technological spanking with all the goodies they provided for the international space station.

Please! Get our kids back into studying math, sciences, and engineering!! China and India are already giving our kids an educational spanking. It is not a stereotype--without Chinese and Indian students, our universities would not have enough students to keep math, science, and engineering programs running.

This is our responsibility. We have to tell school boards to give our kids the best education possible. We need to be willing to cough up the property taxes to keep those schools running, but yet remain vigilant to make sure that money is spent wisely. This takes a lot of work, but that is what it means to live in a democracy, by the people, for the people.

The Constitution says "We, the People. . ." The Declaration of Independence is very strong with:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

The signers of it took the Right of the People and they altered and abolished that government.

The President of the United States is not America! This country has forgotten what sacrfices that the Founding Father had to risk in order to establish the Declaration of Independence and what that document said. That is the true meaning of 4th of July: freedom! And the Declaration of Independence should not only be read for this holiday but for all 364 days of the year!

Tin Man--I'm leaning toward spoiled brat arrogance in our current leaders--conspiracy theories are not needed with those qualities. Those would just get in the way of a good old temper tantrum. It is looking like Bush and Cheney 'allegedly' had a temper tantrum with Wilson's article in the NYT.

That is very scary that it seems SPB and I were digging up the same quote from the Declaration of Independence about the same time. I'm going to run and hide now but before I go, check out what a bunch of college students put together:

And I have been very active in my area in relation to politics and i followup and follow through with my elected officials and the ones that are running for office. And I do discuss with other people some of the issues and concerns regarding this country. Some people have tunnel vision or denial. But, I did say on previous postings that it is the people who separate themselves from the masses that will get things done. It is very hard to try to pull one when you can run with a 100! I work with the people who are willing to do something not the ones that keep saying that "there is nothing we can do." That is why the youth are the one that will change this country around. I hate to say it. A majority of Americans rather be entertained than educated! And when stuff happend to them, then they are the ones who start questioning. For people that are going to the fireworks or picnics, people need to start having discussions with one another about their country rather than what is on T.V. Just talk! For me, I talk about the economy, gas prices, or major issues that are happening to people. I just want to see where people's heads are. And many of them have their heads in the sand for sure. Purely denial. But, the few people who are concerned about this country and willing to do something about it are the ones that I focus on.

I agree with you..the mismanagement and corruption in this country could have funded the space program along with helping students. Couple of mine getting engineering degrees or beyond. ;)

They remember Bush playing dumb on that student aid question from a college student last year. I'm sure about now, millions do.

In 2 days, it will be GWB's 60th B-Day. Greg Palast said there are 19 names on the Vietnam Wall that share the same birthdate as our Resident. Wonder how they would have celebrated their 60th B-Day? They didn't have a "Poppy" to pull strings or go AWOL. Wonder if one of those 19 men has a grandson or daughter in Iraq? Wonder if GWB even knows there are 19 men that shared his birthdate that didn't come home on the Wall? Wonder if he would even care?

Happy 4th of July everyone. This is a day to reflect on how this country started and where we're at now. The media is pushing the propaganda of this invasion and using the troops to do it. America's know this now. News that the office that was looking for Bin Liden is closed. Just as Mrs. Zarqawi said her husband was killed as part of a deal with the US so that the US wouldn't look for Bin Liden. Now we know why Bush said he doesn't think of about Bin Liden. I wonder how the 9/11 families think of this. As for our troops I know first hand they know about Bush and his lies. In some ways they comments are worse then some of the things said on this blog. Our troops know they have been played and their lives are put at risk for lies told by our govenment. Now I have a shirt sent to me from Afgan military base it reads two f---en Brokeback Mountain boys. Yes the picture shows Bush and Cheney. Now I don't wear it but I did ask how could that be sold at a military base I was told they were sold out and still taking orders. So all the propaganda being spread around by some bloggers and the media don't worry our troops show what they think. I was shocked the shirts were sold in Afgan at a military base. So much for the support for Bush by military. Oh note that all those that go on TV or paper and give support for the war are paid bonus for their work. Money can buy some people. Al know's what I mean and I hope he's getting as much as possible before the money give away bank closes.

You don't need to apologize to me. I realize that all of us bloggers and American people have a deep concern and anger toward the officials that are running this country. We are dealing with so many issues in this country that this day for some people can be a sensitive holiday for them to deal with since we have soldiers that are overseas and soldiers that are dead from a war on false pretenses. I was just pointing out that we should all remember what Independence day really stands for. And once you understand that 4th of July is really about, then you can appreciate the Founding Fathers and follow the footsteps of the Declaration of Independence. People have taken the word freedom for granted. You are right that there is a lot of work to be done in this country. and there is no time for people to bitch and moan about the President. People tend to concentrate on the urgent issues rather than important issues. I think people need to get back to basics and know who they are, where they are going, and what we intend to be. I think for me to remember Ben Franklin as an example to what it is to be an American is important for this day as well as 364 days. But, we get so rapped up in our own problems and not take the time to be greatful for what we have. Why do I say that? Because someone told me long time ago to read the Declaration of Independence and remember what the Founding Fathers have sacrifice for and what the Declaration of Independence says and never take things for granted and understand that this country is for and by the people. We have the power but there more work to do as you said!
