The costs of legal defense relating to investigations and indictments are draining Tom DeLay of money he raised for his cancelled re-election campaign, RAW STORY has learned.
A report in today's Roll Call indicated that the former Texas Congressman and House Republican Majority Leader has spent $1.7 million on legal fees, leaving him with only $641,000 in his campaign reserves. DeLay's legal team is currently drawn from nine different law firms.
This is certainly a great step for Nancy Polosi. Good for her! I hope that she keep true to her word. From what I heard from my buddies in California, people are pretty pissed at Senator Barbara Boxer for endorsing Joe Lieberman. So, it will be Democrats and well as the non-corrupted GOPs to be accountable to their states.
If they want to honor Duke and DeLay then they should honer Abramoff too. As Ken Lay is hinding on a Island right now they could just honor him and have Bush take him his gift. With all the honors given to the criminals maybe others will follow.

- I grew up in Flatbush, kept my nose clean, went to law school. Now that I am in Chicago and D.C. I have found that the rampant graft and corruption to be a travesty - a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham.
