I got spurs that jingle jangle jingle...Mr. Webb did a good job in his debate with Macaca Allen on Meet the Press.. Silence and listening are the key to success. And Webb knew how to nail Allen. Allen's past governorship came back and bite him especially keeping noose in his office. And Allen held an ethnic rally and wants minority votes? Allen did deserve a good swift in the ass with a boot with spurs when he said on Meet the Press that he didn't know what macaca meant (which was bullcrap) and he is still learning and growing (he sounded like the Gropinator). We have no time in America to have a politican on a payroll to learn on the job! This is not the unemployment line! What was Allen thinking when he made those comments to Tim Russett?

With the support of liberal parties, Mr Gyurcsany's Socialist Party easily won elections in April after raising government salaries and cutting taxes. But on the tape, he is heard acknowledging that he had kept secret an unpopular austerity programme introduced after the election to help prepare Hungary for the introduction of the euro.

"We did everything to keep that secret to the end of the electoral campaign," he is heard to say, as well as admitting that Hungary's economy was only surviving thanks to "divine providence, the abundance of cash in the world economy and hundreds of tricks".

Hungary in 'moral crisis'? When will Americans see Bush for what he is once and for all?

Another anniversary worth remembering: Afghanistan

A week ago, the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks clearly dominated the public's attention. Today, however, is another important five-year anniversary related to the war on terror, which probably won't generate much in the way of news items, but shouldn't go overlooked.
As Shayana Kadidal and Ari Melber explained in a terrific Baltimore Sun op-ed, Congress approved a resolution five years ago today authorizing the president to attack Afghanistan and use force against any other "nations, organizations or persons" involved in the 9/11 attacks. At least as far as the Bush administration is concerned, this resolution quickly became a key document in the president's drive for additional power.

That was funny though when Russert asked Allen and Webb about chewing tobacco...LOL

MR. RUSSERT: What about you? What about you?

SEN. ALLEN: By the way—by the way, I picked that up from the Chicago Bears training camp.

MR. WEBB: We all have—we all have our vices, Tim. And I’ve been chewing tobacco since I was 14 and it’s...

MR. RUSSERT: But is it a good example for young people?

SEN. ALLEN: No.

MR. WEBB: Probably, probably not, but it’s something that I’ve done for a long time outdoors. I don’t chew indoors, I don’t chew at ceremonies, I don’t chew when I’m in any official function, but there are times when I chew tobacco.

MR. RUSSERT: You’re both going to...(unintelligible).

SEN. ALLEN: Fine, fine, fine. Yes, I do dip. But let me, let me finish with Mark Twain’s quote: “Nothing needs more reforming than somebody’s else’s habit.”

As election heats up, parties target Santorum, Rosie O'Donnell

Republicans, for their part, turned their attention last Friday to TV talker Rosie O'Donnell, for observing on last Wednesday's broadcast of The View that, "as a result of the attack and the killing of 3,000 innocent people, we invaded two countries, and killed innocent people."
"We are bombing innocent people in other countries," she added.
Though the US has never claimed that no civilians were killed during strikes in Iraq and Afghanistan, a release issued by the Republican National Committee seems targets the statement as a controversial claim.
A more controversial statement is also singled-out by the RNC: O'Donnell's assertion that, "Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America where we have separation of church and state."
The RNC also lists eleven Democratic candidates O'Donnell has donated money to this election cycle--including Ned Lamont, whose Republican rival has yet to be endorsed by most well-known Republicans, including President Bush.

IMHO, the GOP are going after the wrong lady. My hats off to Ms. O'Donnell for speaking out and the truth.

With Macaca Allen coming out of the woodwork with his racist demeanor, Allen needs to thank the Gerbil for exposing many of GOP candidate as racists and resurface the word racism in America. It may be a bad thing for Allen to expose his racism but it is a good thing. We are now paying attention to candidates that we choose in our states..

Racism has always been around and needs to be talked about in this country. And not just from the media but from the candidates and officials in office as well (and not for simply wanting votes only). And Tweety Matthews hasn't learned his lesson. He is poking fun at Allen on his show. The article is on Raw Story. This tells how ignorant the media is. I realize how stupid Allen was in his comments for the word macaca but Matthews are all people should not make it a joke. Matthews is showing how much a bigger prick that he is as a journalist.

Another ex-Enron exec sentenced.

Judge rejects mercy plea in sentencing ex-Enron exec

HOUSTON (Reuters) - A U.S. federal judge on Monday rejected a plea for mercy from prosecutors and sentenced a former Enron Corp. executive who testified against Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling to 30 months in prison.
David W. Delainey, a Canadian who pleaded guilty to insider trading in 2003 and cooperated extensively with the U.S. Justice Department's Enron Task Force, had been praised by prosecutors for his help in the case.

Delainey's testimony helped convict Lay, the former Enron chairman, and Skilling, the former chief executive, last summer.

"I don't share the government's view or your counsel's view that probation's appropriate," Hoyt told Delainey. He noted that prosecutors had still charged Delainey with insider trading.
The judge said Delainey was a top executive, not middle management, and headed two different business units at Enron.

Good Luck with Voting:

“Hotel Minibar” Keys Open Diebold Voting Machines

http://www.freedom-to-tinker.com/?p=1064

Like other computer scientists who have studied Diebold voting machines, we were surprised at the apparent carelessness of Diebold’s security design.

It can be hard to convey this to nonexperts, because the examples are technical.

To security practitioners, the use of a fixed, unchangeable encryption key and the blind acceptance of every software update offered on removable storage are rookie mistakes; but nonexperts have trouble appreciating this.

Here is an example that anybody, expert or not, can appreciate:

The access panel door on a Diebold AccuVote-TS voting machine — the door that protects the memory card that stores the votes, and is the main barrier to the injection of a virus — can be opened with a standard key that is widely available on the Internet.

Since the GOP have shares in the Diebold company that make the Diebold voting machines, it will be differcult for states such as Ohio to get honest voting.. I think the states that have the Diebold voting machine may use paper ballot out of the fear of another crooked election.

On a side note, I was curious to know where the ABC movie "Path of 9/11" on 9/10/06 was ranked from the entire Nielsen ratings for the week. Did you know that the movie wasn't on the Nielsen ratings at all and theri rankings went all the way to number 109? I think that ABC/GOP made the public think that people were watching that distorted movie. But, it did find where the re-run CBS movie of 9/11 was ranked:

57 "Five Years Later: How Safe Are We?" CBS 5.86

Number 57!

"Choose to be participant in life and not a spectator. We're all here to make a difference, not just sit on the sidelines and be entertained."

People have to have the mentality to a participant of the November election and not a spectator because otherwise we will still keep making mistakes and have the same clowns like Scrotum and Allen representing the states.

No, Waterflake!!!!

Do not see that movie. That movie had been an uproar here. The T.V. movie by ABC/Disney Corporation distorted the 9/11. Basically, the movie blamed Clinton for 9/11 because he was distracted in his affair with Monica and praised the Gerbil. The movie distorted the people who worked for Clinton: Albright and Berger. Clinton, Berger, and Albright criticized the CEO of Disney, Robert Iger, for allowing that movie to air. They threatened to sue. The Senate, bloggers, people who worked for Disney, and American Airlines, etc. criticized the movie. Now, the movie claimed that this was based on the 9/11 Commission book which I read and the movie is distorted.. That movie caused a big uproar that there was protest at Disney studios. I would really recommend to read the 9/11 Commission book first. Also, the movie never made any mention of the memo that said "Bin Laden was going to attack the United States." That part was omitted from the T.V. movie...

I am sure someone in London will fill you in the details about that movie. But, alot of bloggers written the CEO of Disney and the board members for Disney as well as Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, maker of iTunes, and now a board member of Disney. I don't think the average folks can't afford to go to Disney land or Disneyworld with those prices. The Disney parks continue to struggle and with the CEO, Robert Iger's decision to air that movie, he will pay the price in admusement park sales and Disney products. I don't think that California folks are going to forgive Disney that quickly. And yes, Disney will be boycotted from their wallet And maybe Apple sonce Steve Jobs is a board member for Disney.. O Fortune,

and then soothes
as fancy takes it;
poverty
and power
it melts them like ice.

Fate - monstrous
and empty,
you whirling wheel,
you are malevolent,
well-being is vain
and always fades to nothing,
shadowed
and veiled
you plague me too;
now through the game
I bring my bare back
to your villainy.

Fate is against me
in health
and virtue,
driven on
and weighted down,
always enslaved.
So at this hour
without delay
pluck the vibrating strings;
since Fate
strikes down the string man,
everyone weep with me!

I would be careful with saying the power that the Gerbil holds when the two people that are really holding the power an pulling the Gerbil's strings are Amvien Cheney (Co-President) and Daddy Gerbil 41! Otherwise, the gerbil is just a puppet propped up as President.

Offbeat Gerbilnews:

BUSH GIVES PERSONALIZED "PRESIDENTIAL SHARPIES" AS PRESENTS...

Bush's Sharpies carry his signature and the words The White House. He even has Camp David Sharpies. If you're an important aide, the presidential Sharpies are included with a signed golf ball, baseball, tie clip, and cuff links in the White House trinket bag each gets.

Is that the best that the Gerbil can do? We are in deficit in this country and here is the Gerbil giving out Sharpies as presents. He receives lavish gifts from others and he throws a bone to the public by giving out Sharpies? I can take my butt to Staples and buy my own Sharpies. And I certainly wouldn't want the Gerbil's name or the White House name on a Sharpie! I scratch that name off and put Biloxi! What a cheap ass President.

Oh I know all about Fiat money, GEF! But, you will not hear the Gerbil nor the ecomonist on T.V. will ever discuss that word. Prior to the year of 1951 (year of the credit card), there was no such thing as 'Fiat Money' but "honest money" especially in the agricultural age. It is good timing that you mentioned that word. I was listening to a CD of an ecomonist this morning who discuss about 'fiat money.' And deficit debt that we have in this country is not good. I hope more people would pay attention to the deficit clock debt and educate themselves on the Federal Reserve website.

There's nothing Federal about the Foreign Fed Bank...

And the CPI (Consumer Price Index) changed drastically.. I compared how much a price of an item for a dollar had cost 8 years ago compare to today.. It is frightening. I can imagine what the baby bommers are saying for the price of a loaf of bread or the cost of gas compare when they were growing up. And the way that government is printing money these days so that Congress can frisbee the Gerbil billions of dollars to Iraq and Afganistan or other pet projects is "Fiat Money." We are in debt to the Saudias and China from borrowing that we are not sure which subsidary we will be. Thank godness Clinton is having a summit with the international leaders. Whoever gets into office in 2008 better lock arms with Clinton.. Lord knows how much we are in debt to other countries. According to Moore's movie, "Fahrenheit 9/11," the Saudias owned 7% of the U.S. And we have no idea how much the Saudia own of the U.S. today.

Our Farmers are in South America.

Our Real Estate agents are about to

Much of our country is out of work but the real numbers are cooked up

Nobody knows where our doctors have gone and our lawyers are overworked..

Social programs are denied to everyone but nobody is the wiser..

Everybody else is either working for a slavemeister or taking orders in a uniform and/or getting shot at..

The rest are hospitalised or too small to know what's going on...

Barack Obama Has Had Enough

VIDEO: Barack Obama

speaking in Louisville on 9/14

I was wondering when Barack would speak his mind. I think that he has been cooling it as a junior senator long enough. What he is saying here is not in anger, but is an observance of unprecedented trampling on the rights of "We The People", and when this man decides to do something about it, he will have a following that may surprise us all.

And he has enough honor, integrity, honesty, and savvy to lead this country out of the Neoconservative abyss we are in because of an incompetent liar that became what he wanted to be,...A War President". Now the commander in chief of the most powerful country on the planet, and what used to be the most respected country in the world, says that he has the right to ignore the Geneva convention. That the only way he can get information, is to torture terrorist suspects.

Chernobyl Revisited (Lot's of pictures)
By a young russian woman:
The people there all left and nature is blooming. There are beautiful woods and lakes. In places where roads have not been travelled by trucks or army vehicles, they are in the same condition they were 20 years ago - except for an occasional blade of grass or some tree that discovered a crack to spring through. Time does not ruin roads, so they may stay this way until they can be opened to normal traffic again........ a few centuries from now.

9:02 AM
Blogger Kay Shelton said...

T--Good call on Chernobyl. Folks also need to remember how far the pollution went. Food from other places had to be shipped in to feed people, in northern Norway, Sweden, and Finland because the resources there were too contaminated.

It was Swedish scientists who first told the world something was wrong because the Soviet Union at that time did not warn anyone.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening folks!

TGIT!

Yeah, best of luck to the Gerbil at the UN meeting. After the Gerbil admitted to the American people and the UN that he had secret prison, do you really think his gerbilspeak is going to score brownie points with the UN? I don't think so! I am sure Chirac is not convinced of the Gerbil wanting peace in the Middle East since the Gerbil wants to sanction Iran for nuclear weapons. IMHO, the UN is only tolerating the Gerbil because he is the President of the United States and the international leaders have a deep respect for the American people. But, once the Gerbil is gone from office, do you really think that the UN and the international leaders will give one good sh*t about the Gerbil when he is gone? No!

Good luck, King Gerbil giving your gerbilspeak cowboy speech to the UN!

Blogger SP Biloxi said...

I am surprised that the media on T.V. are not covering this. This is my concern. Who is minding the store? My hats off to Lou Dobbs from CNN for covering this story. He is an excerpt of the transcript:

DOBBS:…Troubling new evidence tonight about massive waste and corruption by American contractors in Iraq. Nearly $10 billion of U.S. government money in Iraq is unaccounted for, $10 billion. And perhaps even more disturbing, taxpayer dollars enabled many of those contractors in Iraq to have better living conditions than our own troops. Lisa Sylvester reports from Washington….

LISA SYLVESTER, CNN CORRESPONDENT, LOU DOBBS TONIGHT (voice over): Iraq is a cash cow for government contractors who collect $10 of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars, and often don’t deliver the goods.
The U.S. government contracted to have a prison built for 4,400 prisoners, the cost, $45 million. The taxpayers ended up paying $48 million for a prison a third of the size. In a separate case, the U.S. government paid the contractor Parsons $200 million to complete 142 health clinics, six were completed.

SEN. BYRON DORGAN, (D) NORTH DAKOTA: I think it’s almost unbelievable that the oversight and the accountability is not there, no one seems to give a damn.
SYLVESTER: The Democratic Policy Committee held a hearing accusing the Republican-controlled Congress of not investigating rampant waste and abuse. Julie McBride, a former Halliburton worker testified that that perks meant for the troops were going to Halliburton big wigs….

SYLVESTER: Half of the $18 billion in Iraq reconstruction funds are unaccounted for. The special inspector general for Iraq reconstruction has opened up 40 new investigations of alleged fraud and corruption. The money wasted on government contracts comes directly out of the pockets of U.S. taxpayers. But it also costs troop morale.

PATRICK CAMPBELL, IRAQ-AFGHANISTAN VETERAN: Soldiers don’t have a whole lot when they’re sitting in 20-man tent, and when they see KBR employees driving around in their personal vehicles, and eating better food than them, it just totally drives you down.

SYLVESTER: So, far the Justice Department has not brought any civil or criminal cases to recover for contracting fraud in Iraq.

DOBBS: And what about the issue of those contractors receiving better treatment, food, housing, living conditions than our troops in Iraq? Any investigation under way there?

SYLVESTER: This is a huge problem. It’s one that many soldiers, and that our troops will come back, and we often hear these stories, anecdotally. As far as what Halliburton says, is it says that it is allowed to provide for the morale of its employees, but there clearly is a discrepancy in the way Halliburton has been treating its employees versus how and some of the services that the troops have been receiving, Lou.

DOBBS: That’s a combat theater and I think the generals would have some explaining to do on that issue as well. As well as the issue, in this administration, in terms of the pay of private security forces and their living conditions as compared to American troops are doing the tough, tough job of trying to stabilize Iraq.
