Public Servants Of The Month...

"Congressman Ney and his co-conspirators engaged in a long-term pattern of defrauding the public of his unbiased, honest services as an elected official," Alice Fisher, assistant attorney general, said in a statement. "Congressman Ney admits that he corruptly solicited and accepted a stream of benefits, valued at tens of thousands of dollars, in exchange for agreement to perform, and performing, a series of official acts. He also admitted deceiving the public and the U.S. House of Representatives about his actions."

FBI Assistant Director Chip Burrus, head of the Criminal Investigative Division, put the Ney plea deal in context, stressing that it is just part of a much wider federal crackdown on corruption. "The FBI is deeply committed to tackling corruption anywhere we find it—this is our promise to the American people, and corruption is the FBI's top criminal priority," he said. "We have more than 600 agents and dozens of analysts working more than 2200 investigations in all 56 field offices right now. Nationwide indictments are up 40 percent. In the past year alone, we have had over 950 arrests, 700 convictions, over 300 million dollars in restitution and over 15 million dollars in fines. The FBI participates in over 30 public corruption task forces and over 100 public corruption working groups." With that kind of tough talk, no one on Capitol Hill remotely linked to Abramoff will be breathing easy for quite some time. <more>

I tip my hat to Alice and Chip. Well done, you make us proud!

Well, there is more than enough public corruption to keep those agents busy. If all those politicians would stop being dirty, then maybe the FBI could spend more time looking for Osama . . .

I feel sorry for the honest agents working their tails off and getting shut down in their investigations, hopefully that will no longer happen.

The American public has grown weary of all corruption and cover-ups. Kudos to these agents working hard to uncover these crimes. Something is wrong when work like that piles up so much.

Pity those on the wrong end of honesty and integrity when the American Public as a whole finally wakes up completely. It seems to be closer by the day.

No kidding...that makes me sick to know this happened soooo many times.

Camp Casey pictures today on my blog

There was a young man there, an exemplary soldier who did one tour in Iraq. He is only 24 and made sargent in military intel within 2 1/2 years. (82nd Airborne) With the support of his parents, he is now AWOL-not going back to Iraq. He will face his court marshal in two weeks.

He believes the war is illegal and very immoral. He would prefer jail time as would his parents. At least they can visit there...
I told him I support what he is doing and was proud of him for taking a stand.

A dashing retired Navy commander & Vietnam vet told him the same thing...that sure meant a lot to that young man to hear it from a guy like that.

So much corruption and graft. Many, many thanks to those public servants who stay after those dirty birds - a growing chorus of singing dirty birds ratting each other out. It's glorious!

And to anon @ 12:54, many people who have not voted in a long time, or maybe ever, will be voting in the next two elections. Too many people angry about what we've done in Iraq, about the graft and waste, about the erosion of our way of life. Check these out:

and

http://www.firedoglake.com/2006/09/16/thats-the-way-ah-ha-a-ha-we-like-it/ (Watch the utube video clip)

And,many people read these blogs. And the people who read and write them are very likely to be more activist, much more likely to vote.

The more convinced we are that positive change is going to happen, the more likely it is that we will make that change happen. Let's go for it.

Your comment on this one please Patrick.

I went to the linked article to read it all. He was doing fine until this line:

"Federal prosecutors of high integrity such as Patrick Fitzgerald will always listen, investigate and get to the bottom of all the lies."

Really?

Fitzgerald is looking more and more like part of the problem than part of the solution to me. He has dragged out the Plame Grand Juries long enough for the White House skunks to do damage control and offer up Armitage to fall on his sword -for the good of the team. None of the real players in that debacle, in the chimp's cabinet or the media, will ever see an indictment and trial.

I am starting to think that Fitzgerald is maybe the last person in the world that we would want in charge of a real 911 Grand Jury.

I never cared much for Sen. Lindsay Graham but I must say, he earned my respect today. Arlen Specter on the other hand, more and more Americans have got his number and are looking back into his past.

Not only the politicans but the person who is supposed to lead by example and served the public: the Gerbil! It is one who supposed to RUN the country! I really look for people who integrity and the Gerbil has none of it. The FBI and CIA's strings are being pulled by the Gerbil Administration.

Good work for the two people profiled as the public servants of the month. IMHO, everyday folks who made a difference in this country who don't have a title or position are public servants and heroes to me in this country.

I think I will keep my low paying jobs. I am not selling my soul to the devil by asking Gov. Blagojevich (BaloneyBitch is easier to spell) of Illinois for a high-paying job in exchange for $1,500 in 'gift' money for his little kid's birthday. He so better be next, put him right next to George Ryan and Mayor Daley's friends in the pokey.

Illinois, an equal opportunity employer for graft, Republicans and Democrats alike.

Night Owl:

Please don't think that people should just settle for less in a job so that they don't sell their souls to the devils. People should want to greater things in life of whatever they want. But, it doesn't matter what class you are in. If your intergrity can be brought, then that decision is what you have to live with forever.. But, the people who have being brought by the Gerbil or caught up in the corruption, have to look at themselves in the mirror and have sleepness night of the decision that they make. At least, you can look at yourselves in the mirror everyday and say that you earn your money. The GOP crooks can't do that. They may be living the hog right now but they will eventually get caught. Remember, all of us have to answer to one person for our decisions and actions: God. and the Gerbil and his base and GOP politicans can't take their money with them when they leave this earth!

I have a feeling that Gov. Blagojevich will next on the list to get caught.. The corrupted GOP have a tendency to tempt the people with money because money to them is power. Money is what we need to survive, pay our bills, and live a lifestyle. But, the they allow the money to control them rather than the reverse. According to people, I heard money is the root of all evil but it is only how you see money. At least you know in your heart that you earned your money.. And you are smart to learn and understand that you can find another vehicle that will create a lifestyle for you honestly than just simply allowing slime like Gov. Blagojevich to control you in money and title.

Here is a tip for you:

1. Emails and comments can be interpret very diffrent from the person who write the comment as well as the person who is reading it..

Your comment didn't sound sarcastic to me. It is sounded serious. That is why S-Q adds LOL at the end of her comments to me to let me know that she is being sacrastic.. So, alot of times when you make comment, I am not sure whether you are being serious or being sacrastic. So, i cannot read you at times

2. Give me sign that you not serious of your comments. Maybe your sign will help next time.
