Here Is The Skinny...

crime does not pay...

WASHINGTON - Rep. Bob Ney agreed Friday to plead guilty to federal criminal charges he made false statements and conspired to commit fraud and violate federal lobbying laws in the congressional corruption probe spawned by disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Ney, R-Ohio, had defiantly denied the charges for months. Now he faces up to 10 years in prison. The Justice Department said prosecutors will recommend that he serve 27 months based on federal sentencing guidelines. Ney became the first lawmaker to admit wrongdoing in the election-year investigation.

Ney agreed to plead guilty to making false statements and conspiracy to commit "wire and mail fraud," make false statements and violate post-employment restrictions for former congressional staff members.

Ney signed the plea agreement Wednesday, but it was not approved by the Justice Department or filed with the U.S. court until Friday.

Are they listening yet? Just say "No, thank you!" to graft.

Ney had to plead guilty since he is running on empty. No one will bail him out. I know that he will give up the goods abut Michael Scalon. Funny how all of the people who have ties with Abramoff: Ney, Savarian, many aides, and so on all link to the main king pin all the way up the food chain: The Hammer! Things are looking very sunny for prosecutors Ronnie Earle and Andrew Lourie.

I can only hope and pray that this happens.
Our "illustrious" Foghorn Leghorn Hayworth is SECOND on that Abramoff list for highest dollars received and seems to be receiving a "pass"...

I find it hard to believe that true corruption pays so handsomely.

We just got back from 2 weeks in Spain and I was so happy to NOT run into any anti-American sentiment anywhere. Everyone we met was kind, and helpful to the extreme. There is very very strong anti-Bush sentiment of course - but the average individual appears able to differentiate between "us" and the "moron"....

amazingly, probably because it is the European Union, the strongest anti-anyone sentiment is directed towards Tony Blair.

The war is hideously unpopular but the funniest thing is that most people you speak with tend to feel very sorry for us - that we are being so oppressed and governed by an idiot.

We made many friends and had a wonderful time. At NO time did we feel unsafe - and we traveled freely.

Republican Voters Dismayed by Biggest Spending Rise Since 1990

By Brian Faler

Sept. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Republican voters are angry, not for the first time, at big-spending politicians in Washington. This year, their wrath is aimed at their own party.

Bush just gave it away about the whole war. Taking oil off the market. The oil mongers might miss out on their huge profits. That is why he hated Saddam, Saddam was jerking the markets up and down. Oh, and he threatened to kill his daddy, too.

Any doubt that Bush and his oil buddies did 9/11?

Yes it is a train wreck for the Republican voters. We are talking about Republican voters that are the middle class and the poor. We mot talking about the GOP elite. Of course, the Republican voters are pissed off and fumed. The Gerbil and company are hitting their own voter financially in the wallet. The middle class voters cannot vacationed the way they use to, gas prices are too much for them, the credit card has become their lifestyle and so on..I think the Gerbil's own party are more pissed off at him than the other parties. That is why the Gerbil keep pointing the finger at the Democrats. The Gerbil may be scared as shit that his own party of voters may swing the votes to the Democrats. I would be more afraid of the GOP voters than the other parties. That will certainly bite the Gerbil for sure.

That's true, GEF!

I ask people who is minding their household. They either look at me like a deer in the headlights or if I am talking to them in a foreign language. For six years, the uneducated Gerbil has been programming the public to be uneducated in life and finances.. That is why I am appaulled that this country is way behind in education in other country. That is why I really stress on reading a book. The country would be further ahead if people would use the six inches between the head called a brain.

On a side note:

I read yesterday that Walmart will be eliminating layaways effective Nov. 19. This highly effects the poor and low middle class fsmilies that use the layaway plan for X-mas gifts.. Again, changing the rules for the lower and middle class. People don't get it. Who is minding their household..

Folks,

You got to hear Ney's statement and excuse!

From Ney:

"As shown in papers filed in court, I have reached an agreement to bring the government’s investigation of me to an end. The agreement will enable me to accept responsibility for what I have done, to start repairing the damage I have caused and to start healing my family.
I have made serious mistakes and am sorry for them. I am very sorry for the pain I have caused to my family, my constituents in Ohio and my colleagues.

I know that this plea agreement will probably forever change the way people view my public service. I regret this very much because I hope and believe that I have helped people through my work, and I hope that someday the good I have tried to do will be measured along side the mistakes I have made."

These have been difficult times, and I appreciate more than I can describe the support, encouragement and friendship that people from inside and outside my District have given to me and my family over the past months.

I have gone through a great deal of soul searching recently, and I have come to recognize that a dependence on alcohol has been a problem for me. I am not making any excuses, and I take full responsibility for my actions. Over the years, I have worked to help others, but now I am the one that needs help. I am seeking professional help for this problem I am hopeful that with counseling, time and the support of my family and friends, I will be able to deal with my dependency.

Blah, blah, blah! I commit graft, I'm guilty, I drink! I exist therefore I am. Please.. Talk to the hand!

Ney blames it on the booze rather than take responsibility for his own actions! Why can't these evildoers just admit they committed graft??

It's called the one armed bandit defense.. It wasn't me, it was________. Fill in the blanks on that deal.. You will be waiting for the cows to come home if you think that Ney, The Hammer, the Gerbil, and others will ever admit of any wrongdoing.. They are less than a human specimen if they are not man enough to take personal responsibility and be accountable..

It's great that Ney is pleading guilty but there is still a lot of trash that needs to be removed from office! I hope this leads all the way to the top & indictments fall left and right! :)

It is great for Ney.. But, he is not the top dog in whole graft.. Hopefully, he will giving the fed more info about the guy all the way up the food chain: DeLay. Ney is small potatoes compare to DeLay and Abramoff. Looking forward to what information he gives to the prosecutor.
