How to Deal With Being in Prison
"You were accused of a crime and either after a trial or a plea bargain, you were found guilty and sentenced to do time in prison. You will spend most of your time in a locked building with people that have done despicable things, some worse than you can imagine. If you behave, it might go easier on you. Nonetheless, you will have to make the best of it if you are going to survive."

For us ex-cons in the Beltway, I found this an invaluable source:

"How To Get A Job With A Criminal Record"

1) If you are younger, consider joining the military. You will get discpline and job training.

2) If you are a little older and generally afraid of your own shadow, change your name and ask George Bush for a job.

From ABC Note:
President Bush holds a road-show press conference in the Windy City today. At the Museum of Science and Industry, the President is expected to make a 10:50 am ET opening statement (probably trumpeting the mixed jobs numbers released this morning — see more below) before opening up to questions from a local and national press corps.

The nation's number one criminal continues to roam free to continue his international crime spree...C'mon Fitz aren't you tiring of being nagged about this? ;-)

But yet, the MSM is reporting something else and another 'tape' from al-Qaeda? I watched a video that gave the odds of certain things happening just when certain exercises were being run along with other factors happening....dang near impossible without being an inside job...again.

There is big difference between Martha Stewart's case and the corrupted individuals that I mentioned. And you know why they wanted Ms. Stewart and Sam Waksel, CEO of ImClone in jail from the get go. But, nevertheless, Ms, Stewart has a much better personality now than she did before she went to prison. and she is now personable. But, I think prison has really changed to become a better human being. But, I certainly don't want to see any of the individuals that I mentioned go to a prison like in Virginia (miminum security) where Martha went.. Ms. Stewart did mention to her the people who supported her throughout her ordeal on email that she was going to write a book about her prison time. It will be interesting book. But, I think that a book written by Gerbil, Porkrind, Baron, and Smurf would be interesting because none of them has never brought themselves to the level to see prison life for themselves. I think they all should be taken down to a peg!

Here some interesting news:

Bush: I'd rather be right than popular

"When history looks back, I'd rather be judged as solving problems and being correct, rather than being popular," Bush said.

The Gerbil does sound the Pharoah in the bible.

Two quotes come to mind:

"Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong."
Peter T. Mcintyre

"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.
Sir Winston Churchill

From People Magazine, an interview with the Gerbil. Here are some excerpts:

Mrs. Bush also turns 60 this year. What's the last romantic thing she did for you?

She said, "Get out of bed and get me coffee" (laughter). No, she's having a surprise birthday party for me.

What's the worst birthday gift you ever got?

The bland tie, the dreary sweater . . . I’m still hoping for some good ones here, so I don't want to offend the main giver (gestures toward Laura Bush). Maybe a new pair of bike shorts from the First Lady is all I would care about.

Are your daughters Barbara and Jenna still daddy's girls

As far as I'm concerned. I'm the guy they're able to manipulate (laughter).

Like I said folks last night, the thrill is gone with the Gerbil and Laura. The man's pilot is just dead. Gone. Finito..

Speaking from the female perspective (since this blog has its fair share):

Dubya may be the single most unattractive man to ever enter politics.

He is dumb, slow-witted, a simpleton and incredibly obtuse. He has NO personality .. a nasty streak ... he is unpredictable and undoubtedly a substance abuser. He is also mentally ill.

He cannot speak, or read. He has delusions (he thinks he's important). He cannot process a sentence intelligently. He is incapable of extraneous thought.

As ponds go, he is the shallowest individual I have ever seen in my entire life. If I had a child with his characteristics, they'd be undergoing testing.

He has no intellectual curiousity and is frightened by science, math and anything that might require thought or brain teasing.

He does not read.

So, from MY female perspective, there is nothing there of interest. The fact that his soul is rotting, is beginning to show in his face. His hair looks awful, his skin is sagging and his eyes are dead. If he was four years old, he'd be labeled a rotten little brat.

He is certainly not an attractive adult male of our species. Plus he's boring as hell.

Men who do not think or use their brains are really very uninteresting to most women.

And there you have it from Basheert, folks, about the Gerbil. A point well taken. And my lady friend would give you two thumbs uo for the comments about the Gerbil and his character. From a man's point of view about Shug (Condi), well, she is not someone that I certainly would court. I don't go for simply looks or attactiveness but the person's character and integrity. And Shug may have the intellegence in education and that she has, but lacks in character and a backbone. I certainly don't tolerate suckups either. Shug may have gotten two titles, National Security Adviser and Secretary of State by the Gerbil but Ms. Rice never earned those titles. Leadership is earned not given. And Ms. Rice may be an impressive and influential woman and being the first Afro-American woman to achieve such a high title in the White House, but she simply didn't earn it. I love strong women but I do love a woman better when she can hold her own and earned it!

S-Q:

While substance abuse can cause personality changes, Bush's past is well know. The fact that his resume lists him as a "cheerleader" and he fancies himself as a "frat boy" indicates his problems probably began early.

That being said, his erratic behavior recently is of course, an indication that he is probably "using" again heavily. I know several here believe it's booze. I don't agree with that. In his position, he would have access to any Dr. Feelgood and of course, Rover would provide anything he needed to control his behavior.
I personally believe he may be using cocaine and some type of amphetamine. He has spastic motor movements, head jerking, his eyes jerk, he slurs his words and seems unfocused (I know it's hard to tell).
He is exercising fanatically - and he looks perfectly awful. He doesn't even look healthy at this point.

I've said this before, from comments I have heard from physicians/surgeons: anyone who has worked a trauma room has seen his behavior. This is normal druggie behavior and body posture. Any physician observing his body movements and slurring would run a tox screen before they touch him.

Many men believe that women want argh-argh guys ... (no, that ONLY applies to Johnny Depp!!!!!!) when in fact, most of us love guys with brains, talent, thoughtfulness, kindness and people we can talk to. You don't have to be in touch with your "inner" you. You simply need to be a nice guy, and have some firing neurons. (Except for Johnny Depp and men in capes who are exempt from all categories above).

Power-mad, crazed, drug addicted despots are not exactly the sexiest guys in the world. Bush frankly, is repulsive as hell as men go.

As far as Condi, well she thinks she hitched herself to a star. It's really a meteorite and it's going to crash and burn...and she's going down with it.

A report of crimes against humans will be charged against the United States. While Americans were reading the Bush propaganda our country has taken on the Cheney policy of homeland crimes. We are committing crimes like the ones we're fighting against. Oh and I read that Cunningham and our moral representives have been having sex with young girs/boys from countries we are telling to stop the sex slave business. Let me answer you in two parts:

"It would be fascinating to know the effect that prison had on their brains and souls (if any)."

A) Yes, it would be interesting since they never know what prison life is all about and how the prison life will effect tham. Will effect them positively or negatively? They all should ask those questions to Ruben "Hurricane" Carter who spend close to 22 years in prison in that triple murder in NJ in 1968 that he never committed. Ask him about prison life!

"But alas, deep in my heart I know that a) none of them will ever do time in anything resembling a real prison and b) none of them will ever write a word of truth." Yes, you are right about. I don't think that they will ever do the real prison time and go the maximum security like Rahway State Prison in NJ! And yes, they will never write the truth because in their heart they believe that they never commit graft nor did any wrongdoing!

Just my personal opinion again: the guys that frequent this blog (with certain exceptions of course) appear to be intelligent and thoughtful. They obviously love to talk and interact with other individuals and don't get snarky if you disagree with them (which some of us girls do because it's FUN).

They are clever, witty and seem well adjusted (for guys). I suspect the ones who are married or in long term relationships are with women who are smart and talented. These are not guys who are threatened by the viewpoint of a female.

And that's just my impression of this blog. Aside from the usual suspects, it's a good group and everyone seems to give others a chance to speak up and out, even with a disagreement.

Men who are not threatened by women are the best!

Ney: Champion Spinner
By Paul Kiel - July 7, 2006, 12:00 PM
It's not easy trying to put a bright face on things when you've been fingered in five separate guilty pleas as part of a sprawling bribery investigation, when your entire senior staff resigns within a matter of weeks, and when another one of them gets subpoenaed.

But Rep. Bob Ney (R-OH) is a champion. Last week, we learned that his three senior staffers resigned, because "there is inevitably turnover" on a Congressman's staff.

And this week, in the midst of U.S. News & World Report's story on Republican pressure on Ney to step down, we learn that getting subpoenaed is really a good thing

Ney's in denial!

Folks,

Now who is kidding who here? Check this interview by the Gerbil about OBL:

Partial transcript from briefing by President George W. Bush in Chicago, IL, July 7, 2006:

QUESTION: You said some time ago that you wanted Osama bin Laden dead or alive. You later regretted the formulation, but maybe no the thought.

BUSH: I regretted the formulation because my wife got on me for talking that way.

QUESTION: We suspected as much, sir. But the question I have -- the question I have is, it appears that the CIA has disbanded the unit that was hunting him down. Is it no longer important to track him down?

BUSH: I -- you know, it's just an incorrect story. I mean, we got a -- we're -- we got a lot of assets looking for Osama bin Laden. So whatever you want to read in that story, it's just not true, period.

QUESTION: So you're still looking?

BUSH: Absolutely. No ands, ifs or buts. And in my judgment, it's just a matter of time, unless we stop looking. And we're not going to stop looking so long as I'm the president, not only for Osama bin Laden, but anybody else who plots and plans attacks against the United States of America. We're going to stay on the offense so long as I'm your president. And my judgment is, if we let up the pressure on him, the world's more dangerous.

In the short run, we will bring these people to justice. We'll use good intelligence, we'll share information with our allies, we will work with friends, we'll bring people to justice. In the long run, the way you defeat this enemy is the spread of liberty. And that's what you're seeing unfold.

At some point, I bet a transcript of Bush's speech at the Drake Hotel in Chicago today should pop up on the Internet somewhere. He was just falling all over himself sending well wishes from Laura to govenor candidate (and current State Treasurer) Judy Barr Topinka at her fundraiser. Bush came to Chicago on his birthday, without Laura. Hmmmm . . . .

Wow, there is not much of a choice in November in Illinois for govenor. There is Gov. Fake Hair Pay-to-Play Blagojevich and Topinka. She orginally did not want Bush campaigning for her because she thought he would be bad for her. The campaign lunch brought in over $1 million, so she's now sold her soul to the devil for campaign money.

I think an Apache contingency is now needed in Chicago to cleanse it. Bush brought his bad Geronimo 'juju' with him.

And:

Murtha is Right: Reagan’s Redeployment Made America Stronger

Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) has argued recently that in Iraq, President Bush should follow the lead of President Reagan in Lebanon, who redeployed U.S. forces. Last week, Cheney responded:
If we follow Congressman Murtha’s advice and withdraw from Iraq the same way we withdrew from Beirut in 1983…we will simply validate the al Qaeda strategy and guarantee more terrorist attacks in the future.

I don't mean to be rude here. But, the borrowed time and 18% approval rating Baron Cheney has a hell of lot of nerve to challenge Murtha! Yes, that is true that they are putting the media and journalists in fear especially when the Gerbil is stripping their rights. But, then I look at Fitz who is taking risks by trying to take down the higher government officials in the leak case. He didn't cave in to being brought like Noel Hillman. So, some the media and journalists have to live with their conscience with the consequences of their decisions. But, again, there are still a few good journalists (loke Helen Thomas) who separate themselves from the masses.

Yes I agree...

But why risk a career when the majority of your peers are hiding behind a duct taped home waiting for the next Rental Terror Video to come out from the beautiful sands of CIA ridden Afghanistan ?

A terrorist in every alleyway!

Hide ya'll here comes the big bad towel head threatening Nukeler annialation from the Desert!

Bwahahahahaha! What a joke!

Have Americans gotten so wimpy ?

Remember this ?
Give me Liberty or Give me Death!

Our Founding fathers didn't cower on security over freedom.

If that were the case we'd be drinking tea every afternoon and saluting Prince Charles.

Gallup: Almost Two-Thirds Want Iraq Withdrawal

A new Gallup poll finds that roughly 2 in 3 Americans urge a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq, with 31% wanting this to start immediately.

Gallup's director, Frank Newport, sums up the results today: "Taken together, it is perhaps fair to say that a significant majority of Americans would like the United States to either withdraw troops from Iraq or make specific plans to do so, although there is no majority demand that troops be withdrawn immediately."

Chimpcoulter,

That's what I don't understand...

How can 1/3 be holding 2/3rd of the country hostage to these crazy Roman Expire schemes ?

There's clearly no concensus for them to be dominating the rest of us..

For Example:
If 62% of the US population disapprove of Bush then why aren't we in Impeachment proceedings for Bush's role in lying about WMDs in Iraq ?

Are the 35% hoping that WMDs pop outta the ground like a weed ?

The Gerbil is at Tyranical Poll levels so there's no excuse here..

GEF,

"How can 1/3 be holding 2/3rd of the country hostage to these crazy Roman Expire schemes ?"

I think some of the American people are wising up. However, I say this only in relation to the Iraq war -- I don't think most Americans want to be there anymore. And a lot of Americans are afraid what will happen when we withdraw...and I would say at least 40% of the population is still hoodwinked into thinking that Bush attacked Iraq for good reasons...(some still think three was a connection between 9/11 and Iraq -- how sad!)

Unlike some bloggers...I don't think the majority of people follow the news that closely...they are too busy living their lives...I don't think they see how horribly corrupt this WH is...
but I don't think they are stupid either (well, maybe a few)

We need more whistleblowers to leak and more exposures of the many WH scandals, and the scandals need to be covered by the MSM also...

I think there will be a tipping point, but we have not made it yet...that's why we must all fight hard...in November and in educating others now, etc...

We cannot give up...

"The Guys on This Blog:

Just my personal opinion again: the guys that frequent this blog (with certain exceptions of course) appear to be intelligent and thoughtful. They obviously love to talk and interact with other individuals and don't get snarky if you disagree with them (which some of us girls do because it's FUN).

They are clever, witty and seem well adjusted (for guys). I suspect the ones who are married or in long term relationships are with women who are smart and talented. These are not guys who are threatened by the viewpoint of a female."

Again, you are what you seek.

The single, most powerful human trait(of feeling), empathy, leads you to what you seek.

(Empathy can be expressed in 'biblical' terms too - "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.")

It is impossible to empathize with institutions or people having no empathy. A case is point is Bush or prisons.

" did Cheney slip them Ambien?"

er, uhm, no. But, a few have prostituted themselves literally to Cheney.. let's start with the lower than pondscum Judy Miller.

I recall this reference to her, {AHEM} knowing him in the Bible sense right on this very blog by the owner of this blog.

That being said, the entry the other day of the 'notes' taken indicating Ms Plame as a covert agent, wife of Mr Wilson prior to meeting with Libby, seems to all

'come together' now, does it not?

The press? Give me a rest -- they are all prostitutes for an award, recognition or the promise of the 'next big story'.

Despicable. We have no real journalists here except Mr Leopold in my humble opinion. Calls it like it is. Facts, data, no spin, twist or zealousness for a silly award, personal acclaim or accolades.

Refreshing, isn't it.
