Today news boys and girls:

From Thinkprogress:

The meds woman is being kicked ti the curb again:

"Craig Durrett, editorial page editor of the Shreveport (La.) Times, revealed in a column in his paper that he is considering dropping Ann Coulter as a columnist, and in fact, has ‘come close’ before."

Well, I was thinking about telling my local paper I was going to stop buying it unless they dumped Coulter's column. There are plenty of other conservative columnists from which to pick who are not vicious and hateful.

From Online Journal:
Busted for wearing a peace T-shirt; has this country gone completely insane?
By Mike Ferner

"You can't be in here protesting," Officer Adkins said, pointing to my Veterans For Peace shirt.

You know the rest. Handcuffed, led away to the facility's security office, past people with surprised looks on their faces, read my rights, searched, and written up.

And just for the record? I'm not paying the fine. I'll see Adkins and Ousley and Dubya's Director of the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, if he wants to show up, in United States District Court on the appointed date. And if there's a Chicago area attorney who'd like to take the case, I'd really like to sue them -- from Dubya on down. I have to believe that this whole country has not yet gone insane, just the government. This kind of behavior can't be tolerated. It must be challenged.

I was at the Jesse Brown V.A. Medical Center because I'm participating in the Voices for Creative Nonviolence's 30-day, 320-mile "Walk for Justice," from Springfield to North Chicago, Illinois, to reclaim funding for the common good and away from war.

As for Coulter-it's about time they started dumping her hate fest column-last I heard she is dragging out her vote reg problem. Seems Annie has a descrepency over her DOB, residency nor did it check, Male or Female on voter card. I would plead with the judge to ask her to state her gender under oath-just once!

Ya know, I don't care if she wants to be a girl-but don't ya DARE tell females how to be female when you are/were a dude...

t,

well if it was found out that she was a Mr. Coulter, then what do you think it would do to all those GOPs that looked at her with tender eyes ?

They'd all drop her so fast and the Media feeding frenzy will be bigger than the one that was trailing Prince Diana back in the 90s..

Coulter would be disavowed just like Abramoff, Kenny Boy or Duke "Defense Contracts" Cunningham!

Gotta keep that secret till the very end..

s-q,

Yep, Geronimo's Ghost is mad as heck and I've heard of wierd tales from the past of Native American Spirits causing cars to veer off the road in route 666...

There's was a huge pile up there awhile back..I think the City petitioned to have the road number changed and the road blessed by both Native Americans and a Priest..

Also in Hawaii there's a road K5 that is said to be haunted by Hawaian spirits and alot of accidents occur there..

There was a ceremony about 2 years ago to cleanse this Hawaian Highway...

I wonder if worked ?

I'll leave this for morning...NZ Scoop supposed interception of NSA with Rove/Addington talking about the NYT and Coulter.

Addington: Karl, again I agree with your sentiments and have no good reason not to blast the Times. All I'm saying is that we're risking everything on one roll of the dice here. It either works or we all look obvious, clumsy and extremist in our actions. Look at all the heat Coulter is taking for her comments suggesting Times Editor Keller should be "executed" -- is that who we really want representing our side?

Rove: She's honey to many of our bees, David. Let her have her fun; her sickness aids our health. She infuriates the pinko liberals, and at the same time helps us solidify our, shall we say, more out-there base. By sliming Murtha, we get the message to military and retired military to rein themselves in. With the Sears Tower story, we stoke the embers of 9/11 once again. And with our leveling verbal and legal howitzers at the Times, the media starts pulling in their horns. Maybe they see the handwriting on the wall: We're floating the idea of instituting a Wartime Censorship Board...

I watched the video "Why They Fight", very good..I would suggest the Alex Jones one too where it spells out when governments do false flag operations. 7/7 is almost here...another good one to get idea of who had their filthy hands in the cookie jar on or before 9/11 is the Richard Andrew Grove one. (you will never think Geico makes cute commercials again, you will see how arrogant they are.)

Funny how all those people want to grab the saying, "Let's Roll" even coke soda pop. Wonder if that is the same Ted Olsen (Olson?) writing the article as the Ted we all know?

I hope the families of the 19 names on the Vietnam Wall that were born July 6 sixty years ago have found peace and if not, then truth-- because the unknown and lies are even worse.

Peace.

Top of the morning all let's see what today brings. North Korea is doing what others do and Bush is made they didn't obey him as their leader. Ann Coulter will soon be asking Al for money as the lawsuits start coming in. I heard the Editor of the NYT's last night as he defended the Constitution as many Bush supporters have forgot what it says.
Have a great day.

Al and Ann together is easily imagined.

She cruely dominating in her leathers and spike heels with whip and vice grips, he bound and gagged in blissfull submissive agony while she screams "liberal" and "clinton" at him.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this...

From HuffPo/AP:
House wants Abu Ghraib Whistleblower info

"Lawmakers have issued a subpoena seeking Pentagon information on a soldier who says he suffered retaliation for reporting abuses at Abu Ghraib prison.

The subpoena from the House Government Reform Committee seeks all communications relating to information provided by Army Spc. Samuel Provance about the Iraq prison, where U.S. mistreatment of detainees caused an international uproar.

It also seeks information on the interrogation of an Iraqi officer there, identified by Provance as Gen. Hamid Zabar. Provance had helped interrogate Zabar's 16-year-old son and was later told the boy had been captured and abused to compel the general to give information, Provance said in testimony prepared for Congress.

The subpoena, issued Friday, was necessary because lawmakers got no response from a March 7 letter to Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld requesting the information, according to a statement from Rep. Christopher Shays, R-Conn., chairman of the panel's national security subcommittee.

"If the department won't even return a call, after three months ... we really have no choice but to subpoena the material and compel their attention to our request," added the committee chairman, Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., who signed the subpoena.

What_secret_0705.html

snip..

The furor over the “SWIFT” story has little to do with keeping America safe and a lot to do with keeping Republicans in power. If the leak was so devastating there would be a full court investigation of who in the Federal Government spoke to the reporters. But, as shown above, this information was not secret and was already in the public domain. It appears that Bush, with the advice of Karl Rove, sees demonizing the New York Times as a great way to energize a flagging political base. When it comes to hurting our nation's security and putting our citizens at risk, the fault lies with Bush, not the New York Times.

Ken Lay and the trouble with Wikipedia

By Dave Wischnowsky

http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/
news_columnistswischlist/
2006/07/ken_lay_and_the.html

Dave's vigilance is more than commendable. If Dave's vigilance were to turn on to any LIVING person of corrupt nature - and there are literally thousands from which Dave could chose from - he would be doing an immeasurable service in the fight for truth, justice, and the American Way.

Any Neocon will give you that choice.
You can expose evildoers. The risk is your life, family, friends, home, savings, and much more immeasurable personal loss - as any blogger here can testify to.

Dave's vigilance is good. Should Dave's vigilance ever be aimed at anyone other than Wikipedia, I won't be second in line praising him.

Project Censored on "New Freedom Initiative,"
tells us:

In November of 2004, Congress appropriated $20 million to implement the findings of the New Freedom Commission on Mental Health. This would include mandatory screening by schools for mental health illnesses. Congressman Ron Paul, R-Texas introduced an amendment to the appropriations bills which would withhold funding for mandatory mental health screenings and require parental consent and notification. His amendment, however, was voted down by a wide margin (95-315 in the House of Representatives).9 Paul, a doctor and long-time member of the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) states, “At issue is the fundamental right of parents to decide what medical treatment is appropriate for their children. The notion of federal bureaucrats ordering potentially millions of youngsters to take psychotropic drugs like Ritalin strikes an emotional chord with American parents.” Paul says the allegation “that we have a nation of children with undiagnosed mental disorders crying out for treatment is patently false,” and warns that mental health screening could be used to label children whose attitudes, religious beliefs, and political views conflict with established doctrine. Paul further warns that an obvious major beneficiary of this legislation is the pharmaceutical industry. The AAPS has decried this legislation, which they say will lead to mandatory psychological testing of every child in America without parental consent, and “heap even more coercive pressure on parents to medicate children with potentially dangerous side effects.”

Update by Jeanne Lenzer: Whether it’s the pills we take or the oil we use, it would be reassuring to know that the information used to develop new medicines or to utilize natural resources wisely is based on science—not corporate spin.

But blandishments from Big Pharma to politicians and doctors have a profound effect on health care in the U.S., making medical research closer to propaganda than science at times.

Comment: How much corruption can we take anymore, when such important parental decisions as "mental health," are made by gigantic pharmaceutical companies, divorced from basic science, critical thinking, and even common sense?
