I fell prey to that scam. Now I am the proud owner of two bank draft forgeries. The forgeries are, however, original, genuine bank drafts, the only error being the last four digits of the bank draft numbers. For a small up-front fee, which I send to a recipient in Lagos, Nigeria, (address and name known)I was send two bank drafts. There were no fingerprints on the envelope or bank drafts. And, of course, no return address on the envelope. The issuing bank - in New Zealand - told me they were recieving complains about invalid bank drafts and verified that the last four digits of my bank drafts were incorrect. Towards the end of all this, (the communication lasted five months - the last contact being the 6th of Febuary) my "contact" scolded me for calling the bank in New Zealand - saying that was none of my business! (I wanted to know if the account, the drafts were being drawn upon, had sufficient funds to finance the amounts posted on the drafts.) The intent of the recipient was that I send him money provided by the bank drafts my bank was suppose to cash. Of course, I was to retain a certain amount for my "services"

Yeah, the scams and identity thefts are becoming of topic discussions more.. I still have people think that using their credit card over the internet is dangerous because your information can be stolen.. Well, the internet is less dangerous than handing your credit card over to the waiter at a restaurant. And people do it with out thinking.. And we don't know if the waiter is writing down the customer's information.. When the Gerbil allowed the NSA to spy on American people and go into their personal information, the Gerbil didn't realize that he has opened other predators in this country and outside this country to prey on people's [ersonal information. It will be much harder for the Administration to crack down on identity theft since the Administration has allowed domestic spyin without legal warrants...
