CIA -Ya Later...

And Mary, don't let the "classified" NIE's hit you in the...
Classic action - find leaky leaker - fire person. At Langley they do things a little differently than at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
WASHINGTON -- The CIA fired a top intelligence analyst who admitted leaking classified information that led to a Pulitzer Prize-winning story about a network of secret CIA prisons, government officials say.

Too bad the President didn't care about leaks. Oh yeah, he knew all about them, I forgot for a minute.

And notice that "leaking information" is a criminal offense for certain people and not others. Some people get a "get out jail card free' while others get "go to jail. go directly to jail." And it all depends how you play the game with Gerbil Administration. It is amazing that the CIA analyst gets canned from leaking information, Girl Friday leaks information and nothing is being done to her because she is in the backpocket of the Gerbil, and yet the little soldier is charged with leaking classified information to reporters and he leaked Fitz' letter to the reporters to discredit Fitz and yet the trlal for the little soldier hasn't started! The pattern of behavior by the Gerbil Administration by redefining what is a crime and what is not a crime in their eyes only will spark more fire to the the American people to want the Gerbil remove! And I am sure that King Gerbil could care less and will downplay Girl Friday's serious blunder, but when Fitz indicted and convicts the number 2 guy, Rove, and the 1 guy, Cheney (forget about the little soldier. He's finished), the entire world will see King Gerbil for what he is: the worst President ever!

The two words this crooked Administration fears the most are "SUBPOENA POWER."

After the November elections if the GOP loses control of Congress it will be the end of Bushco as we know it.

I have seen the promised land and it is on the first Tuesday in November.

Praise the Lord.

Interesting on Raw Stary about the CIA analyst: "The CIA declined to identify the employee by name, assignment, gender or any other characteristic, citing the Privacy Act." Yet, the New York Times printed the name of the fired CIA analyst! So much for the privacy act! Different rules for different people!

In other news: The Gerbil!

1. From Thinkprogress:

Bush Meets Privately With Think Tank Promoting Military Strike On Iran

"Bush traveled Friday night to Stanford University, where he met privately with members of the libertarian Hoover Institution to discuss the war. He concluded the day with a private dinner held by George P. Shultz, a Hoover fellow and former secretary of state." And the Gerbil was welcomed by students and people who protested and want the Gerbil impeached. There is certainly no love for the Gerbil in California in which the state didn't vote for the Gerbil in 2000 and 2004!

2. This is Earth Day and see what the Gerbil does on this day:

Bush taking a bike ride -- NOT for Earth Day -- just for fun
by Joe in DC - 4/22/2006 10:07:00 AM
"As Chris notes below, the idea of Bush even acknowledging Earth Day is wrong anyway. He's destroying the earth. But my favorite part of the article is that he's really excited about his bike ride:
Bush's bike ride Saturday was no Earth Day stunt. The president rides on most weekend mornings, but made the special detour to overnight in St. Helena just to get in a picturesque ride through wine country. He had no official events there.

"I can't wait," Bush told his San Jose audience. "I'll be plugged into an iPod."

And there you go!

Larry Johnson said this on his blog about the "leak"...

Sometime within the last year she returned to CIA on a terminal assignment. I've heard through the grapevine that she was attending the seminar for officers who are retiring while working with the Inspector General (IG). Now things get interesting. She could find out about secret prisons if Intelligence Officers involved with that program had filed a complaint with the IG or if there was some incident that compelled senior CIA officials to determine an investigation was warranted. In other words, this program did not come to Mary's attention (if the allegations are true) because she worked on it as an ops officer. Instead, it appears an investigation of the practice had been proposed or was underway. That's another story reporters probably ought to be tracking down.

I am struck by the irony that Mary McCarthy may have been fired for blowing the whistle and ensuring that the truth about an abuse was told to the American people. There is something potentially honorable in that action; particularly when you consider that George Bush authorized Scooter Libby to leak misleading information for the purpose of deceiving the American people about the grounds for going to war in Iraq. While I'm neither a fan nor friend of Mary's, she may have done a service for her country. She was a lousy manager in my experience, but she is not a traitor and has not betrayed the identity of an undercover intelligence officer. That dirty work was done by the minions of George Bush and Dick Cheney. It is important to keep that fact in the forefront as the judgment on Mary McCarthy's acts is rendered.

Something is wrong with this picture. Fitz am I losing it or have I been sleeping to long. First Bush leaks classify/declassify information he gives to Cheney/Rove. Now Connie leaks national security information legal/illegal? Libby who is charged with lying and part of the leak of CIA agent leaks information about you. CIA agent leaks the truth of torture/secret jails yet Bush lied by saying we don't torture or have secret jails.
I think I got all of it. Now what is a leak and when is it used?

All I can say is...some people think they are above the law. Fitz will prove to them that they are NOT!

What's the difference between a "leaker" and a "whistleblower"?

It would almost seem that the honest "whistleblowers" no longer have anywhere to turn; so therefore they turn to leaking.

Who they gonna call?

On whistleblowers....but I wish President Carter would not have spoken of tall 'tails'.

I wish Sibel Edmonds well and pray for her, others like her that try and do the best for their country.
