We are destorying our earth and soon children of the future will not see its beauty. The ice is melting and things will change because we didn't value this gift.
I plan on planting flowers and making sure I do my part as best I can. Pictures in books will be the only thing left for those to see earth before we messed it up. We still have time to do it right only if we do it together.

Mother Earth has given us so much and asked for so little in return. Now she is dyeing and we need to restore her to her pristine condition before it's too late. I have planted over 200 roses, many old garden roses, and through the beautiful flowers Mother Earth is giving me energy and helping me stay in touch with nature. It's beyond me how this government is neglecting Earth, our only home.

Fitz, Sir

If I may be so bold as to inquire where you found the Blue Marble. It is much nicer than the one I found tonight.

And might I add keep up the good work. Someone has to work the Dark Side and I'm honored to have you as my voice.

Yep. I just pray this earth reflects back its blessings on all. Including those like mrs. edmonds, mr. fisher, and mr. tice.

All the whistleblowers and people who strive to protect the bill of rights....they are out there. Nature, give them your strength and prepare them to win this war.

Rice may have leaked classified intel to pro-Israel lobbyist
April 22, 2006

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice leaked national defense information to a pro-Israel lobbyist in the same manner that landed a lower-level Pentagon official a 12-year prison sentence, the lobbyist's lawyer said Friday.

Prosecutors disputed the claim.

The allegations against Rice came as a federal judge granted a defense request to issue subpoenas sought by the defense for Rice and three other government officials in the trial of Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman. The two are former lobbyists with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee who are charged with receiving and disclosing national defense information.

Defense lawyers are asking a judge to dismiss the charges because, among other things, they believe it seeks to criminalize the type of backchannel exchanges between government officials, lobbyists and the press that are part and parcel of how Washington works.

From my hubby's poem he wrote 30 years ago in college...published in the literary magazine..his teacher said it was bitter..he felt it was truth...I don't have it just right but will write it on the blog when I find it.

His heritage is Choctaw and Cherokee and I have found his ancestors names in a roll book in the Museum of the Five Civilized Tribes in OK

"In the moon when the deer paw the earth
Proud Tribes perished for what it is worth
Babies cried for their mothers's breast
Chief's hearts bled for all the rest
Look back now and hide your head
White man now feel your shame
You bear the blame for tears they shed
Your people perish for what thay are worth,
You've tainted Mother Earth..
The Metal Lady cries out to Mother Earth help me save them for what they are worth"

Because I can not resist a poetry thread... I was thinking of you Mr. Fitzgerald, when I wrote it.

Waking the Winter Soldier

Wake now Winter Soldier,
The Summer Guard has fled.
Our empire stands betrayed.
As they choose to die in bed.

Tyranny was born of us,
And caught the parent sleeping.
Amongst us grows a frightful roar.
That sounds like mothers weeping.

Winter Soldier please wake up.
From your long protected slumber.
Let go your dreams of better things.
And find safety in our numbers.

One if by land, is still the plan.
Our own borders now are haunted.
The old grow cold, the young grow bold,
And the innocent are daunted.

Winter Soldier wait no more,
Seize the day by the end of morning.
There is not time, to make it rhyme.
Stand and scream the warning.

From shining sea, to shining sea,
Let it be heard by We, the One.
May the Constitution live forever.
E Pluribus Unum is how it's done.

Winter Soldier, take freedoms torch,
And we shall meet in the amber waves.
Right past the screams, lay our dreams,
And those that made them slaves.

My Great-Grandmother was full blooded Cherokee. I heard many stories growing up, as well. How some of my ancestors, women & children, while crossing ice cold creeks in winter were shot & left to die in the water.
I will look forward to the entire poem.
Thanks! :)

There will be a march on D.C. with Veterans, military families and other supporters Saturday, May 13th.

Please pass it on.

The big blue earth looks so pretty, like Jackie said too many don't value it. Love the poems, the Indian poem touches my heart-no-money won't do when it is clean drinking water one requires.

Not to offend any of the men on this blog-as they are real men.

But- the other cowards that claim they are men?? The Scooters, the Dicks, the Dubya's, Ambramoff, Delay-the list is long throughout history, really... Feminism HAD to be "invented" because immoral men chose to follow other immoral men. NO guts to stand for what was right. Women challenged them on it-and they called her a "feminist". I call it the truth and drawing the line...the biggest losers in any war, are always women and children.

For Ira

Call me but a half-breed,
For that is what I am.
I carry the blood of the conquered,
And the kings who slaughtered them.
Say I am a savage.
I say, I am that, too.
Yet I was taught, was I not?
Can you see what is true?
Imagine I am human.
I think and feel like most.
Now, imagine I had a history,
What legacy shall I toast?
Call me Drunken Ira Hayes.
I'll not answer any more.
Not the whiskey drinking Indian,
Nor the marine who went to war.

Thank you Christy for winter's soldier and the others.
That's what a feel like a winter's soldier, I'm in my 60's, Irish, English and Cherokee blood.

I am in pain most of the time, if I let myself when I read, hear and watch what we are doing to this earth.

When I saw that beautiful picture of this blue and wonderous world, it was like a stab in my heart.

And Jackie you are right, pictures will be all that is left for future generations to see what was lost. Those generations will ask hard questions. If they are not living in religious totalitarian states of course.

I don't know what to do really, I sign petitions, send money, vote, raise my voice....???? I feel so powerless. Anybody else out there can speak to that?
