About Me
- Name: Patrick J. Fitzgerald
- Location: U.S. Attorney On Assignment - WDC, Illinois, United States
Think Globally Prosecute Locally - I grew up in Flatbush, kept my nose clean, went to law school. Now that I am in Chicago and D.C. I have found that the rampant graft and corruption to be a travesty - a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham. ---Favorite quote --- "Conditional love is an oxymoron." - Yours truly

Senior Democrat on House ethics committee stepping down
Friday, April 21, 2006; Posted: 5:10 p.m. EDT (21:10 GMT)
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The top Democrat on the House ethics committee, Alan Mollohan, will leave the panel -- at least temporarily -- while he defends his own financial conduct, Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said Friday.
Mollohan's decision comes in an election year when his party is accusing majority Republicans of allowing a "culture of corruption" in Congress.
Mollohan, of West Virginia, will be replaced by Rep. Howard Berman of California, a former ranking Democrat on the panel. Mollohan has denied any wrongdoing.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The CIA has fired one of its officers for leaking classified information, an agency spokeswoman said Friday.
The officer admitted to "unauthorized discussions with the media in which the officer knowingly and willfully shared classified intelligence including operational information," said spokeswoman Michelle Neff.
"A U.S. official said the person's name has been turned over to the Justice Department, where a determination will be made whether to file criminal charges.
The Justice Department is conducting an investigation into several leaks, including ones concerning secret CIA prisons and the National Security Agency's domestic spying program."
FEMA wants some Katrina aid back
Agency paid $4.7 million too much in Mississippi
Friday, April 21, 2006; Posted: 1:54 p.m. EDT (17:54 GMT)
JACKSON, Mississippi (AP) -- More than 2,000 Mississippi residents were notified that they must repay millions of dollars in federal Hurricane Katrina benefits that were excessive or, in some cases, fraudulent.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is seeking a total of $4.7 million from 2,044 people, giving them 30 days to repay or set up a payment plan.
Look like I know who is back on this blog... Anyway, great job, Stephen on your portrait of Rummy. Keep up the good work! When leak case is over, are you going to to a portrait of Fitz capturing the idiots and is there going to be a picture of the players convicted in orange jumpsuits???
More update on the woman heckler and charges:
China heckler at White House charged
"A heckler from the Falun Gong spiritual movement who disrupted a White House appearance by Chinese President Hu Jintao was charged in federal court on Friday with harassing, intimidating or threatening a foreign official.
A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office in Washington said the misdemeanor charge carries a penalty of up to six months in jail
U.S. officials identified the woman as Wang Wenyi, 47, a reporter with The Epoch Times, an English-language publication strongly supportive of the meditation movement that is banned in China."

This will certainly be a serious topic of discussion.
More news of the woman heckler. She was released. Her court date is May 3:
"The protester who disrupted a welcoming ceremony for the Chinese president at the White House yesterday was released on personal recognizance this afternoon, but told to go nowhere near the White House
Her attorney argued that she was guilty of nothing more than exercising her right to free speech. Prosecutors said her shouts were like yelling fire in a crowded theater.
After her court appearance, Wang emerged from the federal courthouse carrying flowers, drawing cheers from a couple of dozen of Falun Gong activists. She offered no apologies.
"I spoke out at this moment and this time. It's not a crime but an act of civil disobedience," Wang said.
She talked about human rights abuses she said were committed by the Chinese government and said that the United States needs to take action."

Goss is a made man. But, I'm waiting for him to have second thoughts about being part of the organization and begin whistle blowing. Then he can rehire the patriot agent he was ordered to fire, with compensation.
Thank you, spb. I've been thinking on the matter of the not-so-small event(s) and their gravity. So, something will be seen through.
On the big repair:
Let's get rid of the Fatherland ("Homeland" Security), clean out the NSA, roll back gas pricing, and tax the hell out the crooked corporations until at least one extra chin on Exxon's past chief disappears.
stephen..
love the extra chin thought..
as well as your talent ..of course
Mr. Pitt the drawing is really good almost life like. Do a picture of Fitz so I can download it. I can download now so I'm hoping to find so more good pictures of him. Take you time but please put a smile on his face. Thats what missing from all the pictures he's to serious all the time I know by his jokes he's cool.
The drawing on the left has his chin looking lihe a GRENADE . Was that done on purpose?
Stephen,
Your art is the best-some things are better dark-humor/ politics/chocolate can be like that and delicious with a cup of tea.
I like your art because it often reflects my own preoccupation with this situation our country has found itself in.
I used to hang out with a transfer student in college-an art student who very chicly wore studded dog collars. I was more in to twin sets with kahaki's.
We had a lot of fun times, teasing the poor young single attorney guy-ass't prosecutor- that taught the class. They say there is a fine line between law and art.
We both got an "A" in criminal law-despite the hard time (but what if this? if that? like we all do SPB now)we gave him. I hear he practices civil law now ;-)
E & Jackie: Thank you.
I did an earlier work that went to the negligence of the press (excepting it's dedicated propaganda function) in the face of the Abu Ghraib atrocities, which are shown on the udderly bull.

Rumsfeld stands before a pattern of cow skins bearing these patterns of torture. He is a person who in the end will receive his due. He and his accomplice, the AG.
No wonder Condi is wanting to suck up to Fitz....

Mr Pitt -a wonderful work.I surmised exactly how you described it below. That is why i asked above if you drew his chin as a grenade. i.e. he will blow up/destroy himself.
''Rumsfeld stands before a pattern of cow skins bearing these patterns of torture. He is a person who in the end will receive his due''
anonymous 1: No. Great! Rumsfeld's jowels perform many feats, but the muscles of the chin's top are in a high state of conditioning.
anonymous 2, yes, and thank you. Also, thank you, for the logical connection. Do you like Science? I majored in it. The tripod is very stable. Logic wins!
I am bouyed by this blog.
Living these days is to witness many unprecedented events. As long as I can keep things at arms length, it won't overload.
Thanks,
Stephen
"" yes, and thank you. Also, thank you, for the logical connection. Do you like Science? I majored in it. The tripod is very stable.""
U R WELCOME--YOU HAVE MAGIC IN YOUR HANDS--Love YOUR MEDIA COW--

It is amazing how this blog has stayed so clean and focused.Great inputs.
If SP Fitz keeps it going he and his team may be MVP --SP--of 2006--unless they reasign him???????
Hey Pat me LADDIE --you've done so well--how would you like to come work for me at the WH? no, how about Carlyle? --Name your price?
So now its Condi's time at bat?
Stephen:
Again, thank you for your art! I enjoy it very much and glad that you share it here. :)
s-q, you are most welcome and thank you for your kind words.
Anonymous,
I think Fitz would rather work to make sure the white house has many restless nights, then work for one of the white house's gestapos.
Sorry mack, that game don't bark. :=D
Instead, we'll get rid of all the criminals and firmly throw the compost out.....it will be clean, bristled, and spot checked.
Bye bye Hadley!
