From the GREAT STATE OF MAINE...

Things you can count on the Republican leadership to screw up:

The deficit. Body armor. Medicare reform. Social Security reform. The minimum wage. Port security. The National Guard. Diplomacy. The Geneva Conventions. Fair elections. Clean elections. Intelligence. Protecting the Constitution. Protecting the Bill of Rights. Government transparency. Oversight. Separation of church and state. The middle class. The poor. Tax reform. Tax cuts. Bankruptcy law. Global warming. Disaster management. Defeating terrorists. Saying no to lobbyists. Saying yes to public opinion. Pre-war planning. Post-war planning. Competence. Civil rights. Civil liberties. Civil debate. Veterans' benefits. Hiring based on ability. Legal surveillance. Morality. Energy policy. Energy independence. End-of-life decisions among spouses. Inclusion. Learning lessons from history. Learning, period. Drug policy. Fiscal responsibility. Trusting the generals. Trusting the spooks. Trusting the experts. Basic honesty. Basic health care. Education. Creating jobs. Keeping CIA operatives' identities secret. Catching Osama. Playing nice. Playing fair. Refilling ice cube trays. Making paper airplanes. Or coffee. Tying their shoelaces. Making friends. Blowing their noses. Counting to ten five three. Sharing their toys. Telling the truth. Uniting the country. Protecting underage kids from a predatory congressman.

That House leaders knew Representative Mark Foley had been sending inappropriate e-mail to Capitol pages and did little about it is terrible. It is also the latest in a long, depressing pattern: When there is a choice between the right thing to do and the easiest route to perpetuation of power, top Republicans always pick wrong.

We don't know the FULL story of what Foley did yet. And as more sick twisted evidence of what Foley has done, and no one has talked to any of the pages yet, so if you want to defend the GOP sex perverts/pedophiles go somewhere else. You sound just like Drudge.

Furthermore, Hastert, Boehner and Reynolds are pervert/pedophile enablers who do not deserve to be in any kind of power.

So Fuckoff Pedophile lover!!

Here is John from Americablog his comments about the press conference and he is right on the money. Thank you John!:

Oh please. So now he's an alcoholic, and was abused as a child. He's a victim, you see. And then, the kicker, after talking about being molested as a child, at a press conference about concerns regarding molesting children, Foley's lawyer says "Mark Foley is a gay man."

WTF? How is that relevant to a press conference about molestation? Jesus Christ. Who is advising this guy, the Christian Coalition? This press conference is sick. Oh, and the lawyer just added that he won't say whether Foley was molested by an imam. What? The man is running a public relations campaign from treatment.

At this point, his people need to shut up. This press conference was totally unnecessary.

Secret Service agent

Virgil D. "Gus" Reichle Jr.

is now, in every sense of the word, world famous.

This agent was acting on/under orders - the civilian chain of command, accountablity and authority stops and lies with Robert S. Mueller, former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California and U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, currently now Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Within the next 48 hours, I expect Cheney and Mueller to handle this - otherwise it will be in every newsprint in the world...

CAIRO, Egypt - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Tuesday a North Korean nuclear test would be "a very provocative act," and she prodded Asian nations to rethink their relationships with the North Koreans.

The top U.S. diplomat said the United States would have to assess its options should such a test be carried out, but she did not elaborate.

"It would be a very provocative act by the North Koreans," Rice said during a press conference in Cairo, second stop on a Middle East tour. "They have not yet done it, but it would be a very provocative act."

Rice's warning reflected widespread concern within the Bush administration. She stressed, however, that a North Korean test was an issue "for the entire neighborhood" and not just for the United States.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - When disgraced former Rep. Mark Foley announced he was entering rehab for treatment of alcoholism and "other behavioral problems," some of those who have known him for years were shocked and suspicious.

Some friends and acquaintances said they rarely saw him drink.

A former colleague, Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., said on Fox News Channel: "I don't buy this at all. I think this is a phony defense. The fact is, I think he's responsible for what he did here and I think it's a gimmick."

***************************

The reply from a guy on youtube says it all about Foley. "What is a 50 year old man (in public service, making laws) doing speaking or sending emails with such filth to a 16 year old?"

Like the guy send in the video, this isn't Foley's first time. He's a practiced groomer, only it seems on younger kids.

Hmmm. This is an interesting observance from the leftcoaster website. Check this out!

"Former Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) interrupted a vote(HR 1559, Emergency War Time supplemental appropriations) on the floor of the House in 2003 to engage in Internet sex with a high school student who had served as a congressional page, according to new Internet instant messages provided to ABC News by former pages."

"ABC News now has obtained 52 separate instant message exchanges, which former pages say were sent by Foley, using the screen name Maf54, to two different boys under the age of 18.
This message was dated April 2003, at approximately 7 p.m., according to the message time stamp."

"It isn't clear if Foley sent these messages during the votes on the floor, or left the floor to do so. Each party sits within its caucus on its own side of the House floor, so it's possible that Foley was sitting next to another Republican while he was engaging in these “conversations” that night. So which GOP House member was sitting next to Mark Foley in 2003?"

That is the million dollar question! What did that GOP House member about Foley's pervertness?

7:52 PM
Blogger SP Biloxi said...

Here is some information about the seating on the House floor:

The House Floor

Unlike the Members of the Senate, Members of the House have no assigned seats but are by tradition divided by party; Members of the Democratic Party sit to the Speaker's right and Members of the Republican Party sit to his left.

Foley was sitting next to a GOP buddy.. But whom?

INCOMPETENCE RUNNING OUR GOV'T AND MEDIA!

It's clear the media is not focusing on our troops being killed in IRAQ on a "DAILY" basis..

Why should this be a surprise, the way the GOP treated the Katrina victims in that retched Stadium..

Locking them down like rats in a cage, keeping them hungry, and thirsty for days in the full heat of the sun...

With dead bodies decomposing around hopeless people...

I remember seeing convoys of trucks heading nowhere and after till this day thousands of FEMA trailers sitting idle while people were made to suffer..

So why would it surprise me if media were ordered by the GOP not to report about our 'DAILY' dying troops in IRAQ and Afghanistan!

GOP Politics comes even at the Cost of American lives...

Naw, I'm not surprised at all..

so seriously einsteins. has foley committed a crime or not?? the pedophilic rhetoric gets displayed as fact.a sixteen year old maale is no child. don't get me wrong, foley's a troll but is he a criminal? the gay community has been after his hypocritical ass for years. they even filled his congressional mailbox with page applications like this: This one was accepted to begin next congressional term:
I don't own a cell phone. I don't own a computer. I don't even know how to use a computer or the internet. My short term memory is very poor. I can't remember anything that happened even 5 minutes prior. I have 6-pack abs, and a package that can work all night long. I like boxers with little red hearts on them. I'm very succeptable to alcohol. One drink gets me plastered and taking my cloths off. I like to party even though I can't remember what happened in the morning. ... so the bottom line is: is he a criminal or just a dumb fuck troll?

If the law is good enough for U.S. soldiers to get busted on or regular old joes...then it is good enough for a bastard like Foley who used his position to groom (and hide) his prey.

People that do have some memory problems due to illness are usually embarrassed and try to bluff their way into making people think they CAN remember. Funny it seems crooks, liars and pedophiles don't seem to do that.

9:38 PM

PS- Yes Fitz was right on the money about the drinking/priest excuse...

Anon, I know so many successful (and not successful) adults who were in your situation. One of my best friends in HS had parents like that-you would have never known it to look at their home. Normal looking as can be.
Another girl who was a cheerleader (and seemed to have life made-pretty and popular) was getting molested nearly everyday by her step dad. Her sister refuses to admit what happened and is a "buyaholic" shops constantly...
Of course the kids in juvi had usually been molested or beaten up as kids too-buy someone they should have been able to trust. People greatly underestimate what that does to a person-especially when they are told "that happened years ago" -it effects people all their lives.
An elderly relative it happened to at age 6! No one in her family knows-she told me when I told her about some of the kids I was working with.
So common occurance, yet people only recently recognized and aknowledged it.
Answer to anon- soliciting sex with a youth when you are a 52 year old powerful congressman (or any other) is a crime and that is the least of what he is doing.

Other anon- yes indeed Funny it seems crooks, liars and pedophiles don't seem to do that.

Anonymous--I believe the Foley stuff gets into employer - employee sexual harrassment. I believe there is something in the news about how he waited until one kid was no longer a page but ethically that is still wrong. Plus, did he harrass his other pages while they were still pages? What employee, present or recently past, would ever want the boss, male or female, opposite or same sex, sending UNWANTED messages like that??

All the kids' parents should sue the hell out of Foley in civil court.

I feel sorry for ALL of Foley's pages. I cannot imagine that any of them could be proud of their work experiences. Imagine putting working for Foley as a page on a college entrance application or job resume in the future . . .

No, someone who likes boys. You must not have been around too many teenage boys or forget how immature they are

so i guess the next question that begs an answer is:: is it sexual harassment if the harassed is no longer in the employment of the harasser.

and as far a teenage boys go: so what age do you purpose that you give them the age of majority? or is it all dependent on how well their parents give them the skill to critically think? seems the monroe louisanna page had his poop in a group to tell foley fuck off. while the first im disclosed, seems to have an individual who maintained contact for over an hour and found it entertaining.
