Keep Pace...

The PACER Service Center is the Federal Judiciary's centralized registration, billing, and technical support center for electronic access to U.S. District, Bankruptcy, and Appellate court records.

Between May 10 and May 17, the grand jury that meets in the leak case returned four sealed indictments. Three of those indictments have since been unsealed and have to do with non-related cases. One indictment remains sealed and is filed in the courthouse as SEALED v. SEALED.
I’m sure you’ve read about this on some blogs and have seen the theories. Most federal prosecutors have never seen a case filed as SEALED v. SEALED. It’s usually US v. SEALED, but this one is very special and there is the screenshot! ;)
Have a GREAT weekend.

Thank goodness that you block any more comments on your past posting.. It was getting to be mess..

Two interesting piece of information:

1. Looks like possible successor to Snow is meeting with the Gerbil this weekend:

From WSJ:

Evans Seen to Be Front-Runner
To Succeed Snow at Treasury

"WASHINGTON -- Donald L. Evans, who left the Texas oil patch to be President Bush's Commerce secretary and moved on from that post to head a trade group for financial-services firms, has emerged as the front-runner to succeed John Snow as Treasury secretary, administration insiders say
Mr. Evans, 60 years old, is a longtime time friend and political ally of Mr. Bush and served as chairman of the Bush/Cheney 2000 campaign.
Mr. Evans' wife, Susan Marinis Evans, attended elementary school with Mr. Bush in Midland, Texas, and the two couples have been close for decades. Mr. and Mrs. Evans are joining Mr. and Mrs. Bush at the presidential retreat at Camp David this holiday weekend."

2. Some more information that I read on Truthout about the connection of Enron and the Gerbil. Connect the dots!

Bush's Enron Lies
By Robert Parry
Consortium News
Friday 26 May 2006

“For instance, the documentary evidence is now clear that in summer 2001 - at the same time Bush's National Security Council was ignoring warnings about an impending al-Qaeda terrorist attack - NSC adviser Condoleezza Rice was personally overseeing a government-wide task force to pressure India to give Enron as much as $2.3 billion.
Then, even after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, when India's cooperation in the "war on terror" was crucial, the Bush administration kept up its full-court press to get India to pay Enron for a white-elephant power plant that the company had built in Dabhol, India.
The pressure on India went up the chain of command to Vice President Dick Cheney, who personally pushed Enron's case, and to Bush himself, who planned to lodge a complaint with India's prime minister. Post-9/11, one senior U.S. bureaucrat warned India that failure to give in to Enron's demands would put into doubt the future functioning of American agencies in India.
The NSC-led Dabhol campaign didn't end until Nov. 8, 2001, when the Securities and Exchange Commission raided Enron's offices - and protection of Lay's interests stopped being political tenable. That afternoon, Bush was sent an e-mail advising him not to raise his planned Dabhol protest with India's prime minister who was visiting Washington.“
Contrary to the official story, the Bush administration did almost whatever it could to help Enron as the company desperately sought cash to cover mounting losses from its off-the-books partnerships, a bookkeeping black hole that was sucking Enron toward bankruptcy and scandal.”

WASHINGTON

A federal judge on Friday ordered Time magazine to turn over documents for a White House aide to use in his defense to perjury and other charges in the CIA leak case.

The order by U.S. District Reggie B. Walton also said the New York Times might have to turn over some information but reduced the scope of documents the newspaper and other news organizations would have to provide to lawyers for the defendant, former top vice presidential aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

Hmmm..The plot thickens with Hastert:

But Kim Eisler, national editor of the Washingtonian magazine and friend of Abramoff, told Think Progress that “Jack considered Hastert a reliable ally for his clients.”

Abramoff evidently trusted Hastert enough to have him help one of his tribal clients in Louisiana, far from Hastert’s district in Illinois. The client, the Coushatta tribe, opposed a plan by the Jena Band tribe to open a competing casino in Louisiana. Abramoff successfully lobbied his congressional allies to write a June 10, 2003, letter to then Interior Secretary Gail Norton opposing the casino. Co-signers on the letter included Hastert and Reps. Tom DeLay (R-TX), Roy Blunt (R-MO), and Eric Cantor (R-VA), a group of people “who do not normally weigh in on Indian issues.”

Note that Abramoff held a fundraiser for the Speaker on June 3, a week before Hastert signed the letter. At that event — hosted at Abramoff’s restaurant — Abramoff’s firm and tribal clients gave at least $21,500 to Hastert’s PAC. Eisler also tells Think Progress that “the pictures of Bush that I saw at Jack’s house several months ago, many of them were taken at a Hastert fundraiser.”

This for you.. Here is an article about Rove and Novak that will shed some light.. Novak is in hot water!

"Murray Waas has a new article on the Valerie Plame leaks investigation, disclosing that federal agents became suspicious of Karl Rove and Bob Novak because of a telephone conversation in which Novak reached out to assure Rove he would protect him as his source. The conversation was on September 29, 2003, three days after it became public that the Justice Deparment was opening a criminal investigation into the leak."
"Sources said that Ashcroft received a special briefing on the highly sensitive issue of the September 29 conversation between Novak and Rove because of the concerns of federal investigators that a well-known journalist might have been involved in an effort to not only protect a source but also work in tandem with the president's chief political adviser to stymie the FBI."

"Rove told the grand jury that during the September 29 call, Novak said he would make sure that nothing similar would happen to Rove in the CIA-Plame leak probe. Rove has testified that he recalled Novak saying something like, "I'm not going to let that happen to you again," according to those familiar with the testimony. Rove told the grand jury that the inference he took away from the conversation was that Novak would say that Rove was not a source of information for the column about Plame. Rove further testified that he believed he might not have been the source because when Novak mentioned to Rove that Plame worked for the CIA, Rove simply responded that he had heard the same information."

http://news.nationaljournal.com/articles/0525nj1.htm
l

And Rove says that he heard the same information. That is the same thing that Libby said in his testimony to the FBI investigators and to the GJ which is why Libby was charged with lying to the investigators and obstruction of justice...

I don't think that Fitz is going to let Novak off the hook!!!

Hi all. I wonder if, before sentencing, Lay offers up the top secret-and uncensored-Cheney Energy Task (Conspiracy?) Force notes or recollections.

Wasn't this "task force" really some sort of dark, covert plan? And didn't the plan's implementation result in an illegal invasion and the death of tens of thousands? And, wouldn't each member of the group know that as a consequence of their participation, people would die? Didn't they participate willfully?

Really, isn't this what Ike warned us about?

I hope this case goes very wide and very deep. I want to see every member of that "task force" under oath, then shackled to the leg of an orange elephant for a very long time.

S-Q,

Here is the article about Armitage:

Ex-deputy secretary of state new figure in CIA leak probe

BY KENNETH R. BAZINET and JAMES GORDON MEEK
DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

WASHINGTON - Former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage has emerged as a key witness in the CIA leak probe, the Daily News has learned.
Armitage has been questioned several times, but is not expected to be indicted by the federal grand jury investigating who outed CIA spy Valerie Plame to journalists in 2003, sources said.
Armitage's testimony could hurt Vice President Cheney's indicted former chief aide Lewis (Scooter) Libby, or President Bush's political guru, Karl Rove.
Two sources familiar with the case said Armitage, Rove and Libby all had contacts with the press about Plame. Unlike Rove and Libby, Armitage appears to have tried to dissuade reporters from writing about her.
Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald recently had to sneak Armitage into a Washington courthouse to get past reporters - a sign of his value in the case, according to one source.
"Rich has been cooperating with Fitzgerald since day one," said another source, who has close ties to Armitage. "He was one of the first people to offer his testimony."
Armitage's office said he was was not available to comment.
Rove has testified five times as a subject of the grand jury probe.
Even if Rove escapes indictment, he could still be forced to resign for talking about Plame with a Time magazine reporter.
"People don't seem to want to talk about the possibility that Karl could be named an unindicted co-conspirator," a third source close to the case said. "Can an unindicted co-conspirator remain at the White House? Personally, I don't think so."

2 more Ney aides subpoenaed in Abramoff bribery case
Friday, May 26, 2006
Sabrina Eaton
Plain Dealer Bureau
Washington- Two more Capitol Hill aides who worked for U.S. Rep. Bob Ney have been caught up in the federal bribery investigation wrought by former lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
Paul Vinovich, who served as Ney's top aide with the House Administration Committee, and Will Heaton, Ney's current chief of staff, have received subpoenas to appear as witnesses and provide testimony, congressional records show.
But at least one, Vinovich, is exercising his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and won't testify at a trial that started this week involving favors allegedly given by Abramoff to a former government official.

Vinovich and Heaton accompanied Abramoff and Ney on an August 2002 golf trip aboard a private jet to Scotland, along with former Christian Coalition head Ralph Reed and former Ney aide Neil Volz. David Safavian, then a General Services Administration official, also was on the trip.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Two reporters, a television network, a magazine and a newspaper might have to surrender notes before the trial of Lewis "Scooter" Libby, the indicted former top aide to Vice President Dick Cheney.

Libby's lawyers had subpoenaed a broad range of notes to help prepare his defense against federal charges he lied to investigators and a grand jury about his knowledge of a CIA operative, Valerie Plame. The lawyers argue that Libby's right to a fair trial outweighs any constitutional protect claimed by the media against handing over the materials.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton agreed, writing, "The court declines to recognize a First Amendment reporters privilege."

In orders to Andrea Mitchell, NBC News, Matthew Cooper, Time magazine and The New York Times, Walton concluded the defense's "requests are specific, and the responsive documents are relevant."

In addition, Time must hand over draft versions of an article Walton says would be helpful for Libby's defense.

Walton said he had found alterations between drafts Cooper had written for his 2005 article, "What I told the grand jury." Such information, Walton said, would allow Libby's lawyers to challenge Cooper's likely testimony.

Walton ordered the relevant documents handed over to Libby's team by June 2 and described an "inevitability that Cooper will be a government witness at trial."

Walton received much of the sought-after materials for a closed-door review prior before issuing his order.

Except for Time magazine and Cooper, Walton's order does not require any documents to be immediately disclosed to the defense, pending a final ruling on admissibility during the trial of the case set for January 2007.

In the same action, Walton rejected a subpoena issued to former New York Times reporter Judith Miller, saying Libby's requests for notebooks, appointment calendars and her telephone records "appear to be nothing more than a fishing expedition."

The wording was the same as that which Miller's attorney, Bob Bennett, had used in fighting the subpoena.

CNN, a sister company to Time magazine, was among the outlets served, but the defense was satisfied that the TV news network had no materials relevant to the request.

Question:
What does Mr. Fitzgerald mean when he says:
"Three of those indictments have since been unsealed and have to do with non-related cases".
Different cases or branches from this case?

I was wondering what others thought the significance of Sealed vs. Sealed is?

I think these Republican Congressmen are just getting a little too jumpy and paranoid these days:

From AFP.com:
"Republican Representative Jim Saxton (news, bio, voting record), speaking to Fox television, said he was in an elevator at the garage level of the Rayburn House Office building, when he heard what he thought was gunfire.

"I heard what I thought to be between six and ten shots," the Republican lawmaker said.

"It sounded exactly like gunfire to me. It was not of a backfire nature. It was the sharp crack as comes out of a weapon."

I looked at Pacer website. I considered registering there -- however I was not sure how I could find the right district that listing is under (I know it is District of Columbia, but I think you need to know if it the 9th district or whatever -- I'm not sure)- but yet again -- I believe you would only see the screenshot above so I don't think it would be worth the time to do. Some Rove, Arnold, Enron connections asked about earlier...a dated quote below, Rove later worked a deal with Arnold where Enron would pay back a small percentage to CA.

"Wilson rammed through and signed the law deregulating the state’s energy market. It opened the door for Enron, Reliant, and Houston-based El Paso Natural Gas to create a phony “energy shortage” in 2001 with rolling brownouts across the state. Even the Bush-dominated Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) admitted that these energy traders “gamed” the California energy market, forcing ruinous contracts on beleaguered ratepayers. Yet FERC refused to nullify those contracts and now the Bush-Cheney gang is blaming Davis for the crisis they created.

While the lights were dimming, Enron CEO Ken Lay, summoned top Republicans to a secret meeting at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, May 11, 2001. Among them was Arnold Schwarzenegger, convicted junk-bond dealer Michael Milken, and L.A. Mayor Richard Riordan. Reporter Jason Leopold who covered the California energy crisis for Dow Jones News Wire writes that Lay “handed out a four-page document to Schwarzenegger, Riordan and Milken titled ‘Comprehensive Solution for California’ which called for an end to federal and state investigations into Enron’s role in the California energy crisis and said consumers should pay for the state’s disastrous experiment with deregulation through multi-billion rate increases."”

The White House’s Active Role in the California Recall:
A Partial List of the Evidence

Bush Guru Karl Rove Met With Schwarzenegger in April. Schwarzenegger visited the White House for a meeting with top Bush adviser Karl Rove on April 12th, 2003. Both Schwarzenegger and Rove claimed that politics was not discussed during the meeting. [Washington Post, 4/13/03]

Karl Rove: Possibility of a Governor Schwarzenegger "Would Be Really, Really Nice." "With Mr. Rove’s blessing," Bush political advisers met with Schwarzenegger in 2001 about the prospect of Schwarzenegger running for CA governor in 2002. The New York Times reported on the meeting, "‘That would be nice,’ Mr. Rove said of the prospect of a Governor Schwarzenegger. ‘That would be really nice. That would be really, really nice.’" [New York Times, 4/15/01]

Laura Bush’s Press Secretary Helped GOP Candidate Strategize for Recall Campaign. Noelia Rodriguez, Laura Bush’s press secretary and former LA deputy mayor, was in Los Angeles for a week in July helping former mayor Richard Riordan assemble a campaign team and strategy for a possible run on the recall ballot. [Los Angeles Times, 7/31/03; New York Times, 8/1/03]

Top Bush CA Adviser Playing Major Roll in Recall. Gerry Parsky, Bush’s top adviser in California, has been advising GOP candidates on the recall strategy. The Sacramento Bee reported, "Bush isn't staying entirely out of the election. His liaison in California, businessman Gerald Parsky, summoned representatives of potential Republican candidates to his office Tuesday to discuss how the GOP could help recall Davis." [Sacramento Bee, 7/30/03]

High Level Bush Re-Election Strategist Involved in Recall Effort. Mindy Tucker, who served as a Bush spokesperson in the 2000 election and is currently a high level Bush campaign strategist, is involved in the recall election strategy. A memo by a California GOP campaigner noted, "Mindy Tucker, former Bush campaign spokesperson and current Bush campaign operative in California, has the White House's blessing…" The same memo noted that Tucker would be involved in coordinating recall campaign events, and that "the resulting issue-oriented and image-enhancing coverage will benefit the image of the Republican Party, the recall candidates, and will benefit President Bush as we remind the public of who is to blame for the mess in this state." [San Francisco Chronicle, 8/6/03]

Tucker Has Denied White House Involvement, But Alludes to Bush Strategy. Tucker has claimed that her involvement is not on the part of the White House, but has also said, "the president has given everybody in California his blessing to take a position on this…" Tucker has also said, "We've identified some areas where the recall will help us build the party -- not only for the recall, but also for '04, which everyone believes is important." Though it is rare for HBS—or any other professional or graduate school—to admit a student who does not have an undergraduate degree, admissions officers made an exception for Blake Gottesman, who for four years has served as special assistant and personal aide to Bush."

"a non covert cia employee..."

Al that is the lamest remark you have ever posted by far. You might have just as well had written "Clinton BJ".

"Plame is known to have served in a classified position as a CIA officer. At his October 28, 2005, press conference, Special Counsel Fitzgerald noted:

Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer. In July 2003, the fact that Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer was classified. Not only was it classified, but it was not widely known outside the intelligence community. Valerie Wilson's friends, neighbors, college classmates had no idea she had another life. The fact that she was a CIA officer was not well-known, for her protection or for the benefit of all us. It's important that a CIA officer's identity be protected, that it be protected not just for the officer, but for the nation's security. Valerie Wilson's cover was blown in July 2003. The first sign of that cover being blown was when Mr. Novak published a column on July 14th, 2003."

" Valerie Plame Wilson was identified in the New York Times as a N.O.C. by Elisabeth Bumiller, who wrote (5 October 2003):

But within the C.I.A., the exposure of Ms. Plame is now considered an even greater instance of treachery. Ms. Plame, a specialist in non-conventional weapons who worked overseas, had "nonofficial cover," and was what in C.I.A. parlance is called a NOC, the most difficult kind of false identity for the agency to create. While most undercover agency officers disguise their real profession by pretending to be American embassy diplomats or other United States government employees, Ms. Plame passed herself off as a private energy expert. Intelligence experts said that NOCs have especially dangerous jobs."

"Fitzgerald was asked if he knew whether Libby revealed Plame's covert status knowingly; he responded:

Let me say two things. Number one, I am not speaking to whether or not Valerie Wilson was covert. And anything I say is not intended to say anything beyond this: that she was a CIA officer from January 1st, 2002, forward. I will confirm that her association with the CIA was classified at that time through July 2003. And all I'll say is that, look, we have not made any allegation that Mr. Libby knowingly, intentionally outed a covert agent. We have not charged that. And so I'm not making that assertion."

7:37 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Blake Gottesman...

7:40 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

And so Patriot "Al", this doesn't bother you? The Intelligence community is still outraged and feels betrayed by this affair.
""Plame's case is different in that she was burned -- not once, but twice. The first time was by Aldrich H. Ames, the CIA turncoat who is believed to have given the Russians the name of every covert operative in the Soviet/East European Division over 10 years beginning around 1985. Not knowing exactly whom he had outed, the CIA recalled hundreds of operatives, including Plame, for their safety. Still, her undercover status remained intact until July, when syndicated columnist Robert D. Novak identified her by name as a CIA 'operative' in a column about her husband, former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, whom the CIA had sent to Niger to check on allegations that Iraq was seeking to purchase uranium oxide there."[20]

8:14 PM
Blogger SP Biloxi said...

folks,

We now know who is in the charge of the Gerbil White House: Big Dick Cheney!

Vice President Refuses to Report Classification Activity

"For the third year in a row the Office of Vice President Dick Cheney has refused to disclose data on its classification and declassification activity, in an apparent violation of an executive order issued by President Bush.
"The Office of the Vice President (OVP), the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (PFIAB), and the Homeland Security Council (HSC) failed to report their data to ISOO this year," the Information Security Oversight Office (ISOO) noted in its new 2005 Annual Report to the President
The Office of the Vice President has declined to report such data since 2002. Yet it is clear that disclosure is not optional.
"Each agency that creates or handles classified information shall report annually to the Director of ISOO statistics related to its security classification program," according to ISOO Directive 1 (at section 2001.80).
This and other ISOO directives "shall be binding upon the agencies," President Bush wrote in Executive Order 13292 (section 5.1). And an "agency" is not only a statutorily defined executive branch agency, but also includes "any other entity within the executive branch that comes into the possession of classified information."
Despite this straightforward language, a spokeswoman for Vice President Cheney told the Chicago Tribune in April that his Office is "not under any duty" to provide the required information.
On prior refusals by the Vice President to disclose classification and declassification data, see "Cheney exempts his own office from reporting on classified material" by Mark Silva, Chicago Tribune, April 29, 2006.
Historically, the OVP has "not reported quantitatively significant data," according to ISOO. So the Vice President's current defiance of the executive order does not greatly distort the overall presentation of classification activity.
But it signals an unhealthy contempt for presidential authority and undermines the integrity of classification oversight."

Now, your question on SEALED vs. SEALED. I kid you not. I have gotten emails from bloggers asking me this same question... In my opinion, when Fitz at times posting commets regarding the case.. Sometimes his comments are funny. I find that you have yo read bettwen the lines of comments with Fitz.. He is very clever at times... Here goes:

He used SEALED vs. SEALED as pun for "Official A" which is poking fun at all ofthe contraversy around Leopold's article two weeks about about a sealed document of Rove's indictment.. Don't quote me on this. This is just a theory.. But, Rove is indicted... But, those 3 unsealed documents,, Now, that is a another story. We all know that Fitz will go after Cheney and Hadley/Badly.. Now, Novak is a surprised but not surprised.. Oh, WH conspiracy for sure..

BTW, LOL! NBC news showed the Gerbil expressing his sorrow for his the Abu Ghraib prison.. The interesting thing is he couldn't pronounce Abu Ghraib prison for goodness sakes.. This wasn't edited my friend. Blame it on the bottle. He was yearning for the bottle my friend!!

But what we need to also show the world is that we can also apply the same safeguards to all our citizens, including high officials. Much as they must be bound by the law, they must follow the same rules.

So I ask everyone involved in this process, anyone who participates in this trial, anyone who covers this trial, anyone sitting home watching these proceedings to follow this process with an American appreciation for our values and our dignity."

Folks,

A blast from the past on a positive note. From Oct. 28, 2005, the indictment of Scooter Libby. Here are some excerpts of Fitzgerald's press conference:

FITZGERALD: "I recognize that there's been very little information about this criminal investigation, but for a very good reason.
It may be frustrating when investigations are conducted in secret. When investigations use grand juries, it's important that the information be closely held."

"It's critical that when an investigation is conducted by prosecutors, agents and a grand jury they learn who, what, when, where and why. And then they decide, based upon accurate facts, whether a crime has been committed, who has committed the crime, whether you can prove the crime and whether the crime should be charged."

"There's another thing about a grand jury investigation. One of the obligations of the prosecutors and the grand juries is to keep the information obtained in the investigation secret, not to share it with the public."

"And as frustrating as that may be for the public, that is important because, the way our system of justice works, if information is gathered about people and they're not charged with a crime, we don't hold up that information for the public to look at. We either charge them with a crime or we don't."

Dr.Al Evil.

Never on this blog have I used pet names for any public official. Not once. Just for the record. I did, weeks ago, at times enjoy healthy debate with you until it went the way it has become now.

I reluctantly have to admit that your repeated calling of the Prosecutors' office to confirm this blogs identity has been the
best part of it for me by far.

As one who been here as long as the owner and who can see the site meter daily logs and IPs these actions of your are rich humor...and not just for me either!

The DoJ and U.S. Courts log in and out of here day and night and have done so from the start.

They laugh at you pal.

"I wish we had a candidate for "08 that I could get excited about. Right now I'm only looking at Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, and PJF --we need the truth!" And I agree Chimpcoulter. We need somelike PJF with character and integrity in the WH! If Fitz runs for President, he should have Eliot Spitzer as VP.Now that would be a winning ticket.. Me? I would keep my job as the Special Prosecutor. And I already told Fitz that he considers running for POTUS, I will be keeping a close eye on him for any GRAFT! I have a duty to the American people to prosecute any evil doers. And if I see that President Fitz sneezes the wrong way or do any moneylaundering, I'm slapping the handcuffs on him with no questions ask!! I don't tolerate corrupted officials!!!

CJT, I like civil debate but the majority don't want any kind of debate here. Their minds are made up and they only want to read post from others that bolster their preconceived ideas. The name calling of public officials diminishes any credibility that you may wish to convey. When I first logged onto this blog it appeared to be inhabited by 6th graders on a playground. I couldn't believe a person calling themselve SPB would write in such an unprofessional way. I get many chuckles reading that kind of trash talk from so called adult professionals.

I hope Novak is one of them-he has lied his @ss off and has the nerve to act "put-out" when called on it.

I just don't understand how he could have been walking free all this time, when the evidence against him was so clear-which is why I thought he surely had been granted immunity-turns out, he's dumber than I thought! ;-)

What is your problem Biloxi...if you are a prosecutor then search pacer, and you will find your beloved "sealed vs. sealed " is filed under Time Incorporated.'s case number assigned in USA vs. LIBBY...that is L I B B Y -- NOT R O V E ......

so it Fitz filing a super secret indictment so secret he's filing it under Time Inc's Libby case... just to you know keep it really super double secret?

An BTW -- I find super funny you all are capping on the "anonymous-ness" of me ...since, um...Jason Leopold's entire story was based on "anonymous" sources.

Here's a thought - a speuclation - about who is named in this Sealed v. Sealed case: how about Fitzgerald v. Gonzalez, with Fitz demanding to have relased to him ALL documents and records of communication that Gonzalez has deemed to be denied by reason of "executive privilge"????

Maybe it is the WH and the executive branch on the defensive against Fitzgerald instead of the other way around, as suggested by someone else commenting on this blog.

Here is a thought...Gonzales recused himself from this case...that is he HAS no clue about Fitzgerald's case and/because Fitzgerald was appointed "ACTING Attorney general" in this case...-- well no, that's not true, if he were appointed HE'D HAVE TO BE CONFIRMED by the SENATE-- ...so he was "ordained" Attorney General and if you read all the legal filings...you'd see that Fitzgerald is arguing AGAINST "releasing" any documents deemed "executive privilege" or just plain old classified.
