Fitz: (OFF TOPIC)

Can you pls do an "open forum" - someone asked on one of the past posts about the polygamy issue here in AZ and UT and I had some answers to the questions that I thought they might like to see?

Thanks - even if the answer is NO!

So - what is the Fitzmas color scheme?

It's obviously green and red for Christmas - and blue and white for Hannukah ..

Perhaps Fitz can re-do the blog so we can post in color???

And of course, we are all holding on that things will come down the right way - I believe Fitz has the numbers (13 right? or was it 12) - but until the word comes down, we can all just hold our breaths.

P.S. I knew that the GJ would make a decision on a Friday!!!!!!! I just had a funny feeling! I want to be Friday because I wanted to the Gerbil and company to squim over the weekend and the Gerbil yearning for the bottle. The Gerbil is going to need that tequila bottle to calm his nerves!!!

Basheert!

I go for green and red.. That was the color scheme when Tiger Woods made history being the first Afro-American/Thai and young golfer to win the Masters!

I lean towards blood red - to represent the thousands of people who have shed blood for this Idealogue and his sick and twisted Administration.

Attached is a plan for Bushco's early October surprise - carriers moving towards Iran.

Well,

I aim toward the positive. Yes, Red csn represent the blood shed and the twisted Administration. But, I represent the red as triumph. That is why I mention Tiger Woods. This is triumph in judicial system, the house of cards, graft, corruption, and the for the dead soldiers who will be always remembered, didn't die in vain, and put in harm's way in a war that on false pretenses!!!

For all of us that followed this case with you Wed. and Friday are Grand Jury days. Now what's interesting is what does the grand jury have to say about Karl Rove. This case has changed so many people and so many things. Just don't forget not to let it change you. Some get carried away and want to much to fast. Others will say they were behind you all the time. Little angel just take a deep breath and hold your ground and don't get caught up in the fakes and wanta bees. Keep butt Friday and remember to smile.

12:54 PM
Blogger basheert said...

A cheery little tidbit - someone needs to crimp these plans please?

"Karl Rove, Bush's top political adviser, and GOP leaders are well aware of the problem and planning a summer offensive to win back conservatives with a mix of policy fights and warnings of how a Democratic Congress would govern. The plan includes votes on tax cuts, a constitutional amendment outlawing gay marriage, new abortion restrictions and measures to restrain government spending."

5 COUNTS FOR IRVING LEWIS "SCOOTER" "LITTLE SOLDIER" LIBBY

We will be waiting on how many counts for Porkrinds! Hopefully, the counts will be 6 times than Libby!

I never said that Rove is the one person that will be indicted. Fitz presented a csse on Rove. There is no mention of another person that was presented the GJ. Let's not forget Hadley and perhaps Cheney.... This case is not yet over... In alot of Fitz's cases, he is known for getting the #2 guy to get the #1 guy. I only mention the blast of the past as a reminder of Fitz's news conference back of October.... But, it is important to get Rove. He is one of stronger WH official that can topple the Gerbil Administration!

Finally, make sure President Fitz remove all of the empty beer and tequila bottles that were hidden by the Gerbil as he yearned for the bottle often. Make sure Fitz spray all rooms including the Gerbil's room. I have a feeling that he left a big stink in that room!

Folks,

More Afternoon/Evening news:

1. The reporters will be running like Gerbils on Friday to get the scoop of the century:

From Raw Story:

Networks plan stakeout of Fitzgerald court Friday; No formal sign of indictment

"Reporters at the major cable television networks plan to be on the ground Friday outside a federal district court where the jury considering the fate of President Bush's senior adviser Karl Rove."

Yeah, we shall see....

2. Tony Snow Job has only been in his new WH position for a week and he is now trolling the media!

Snow Already Sparring With News Orgs.

By E&P Staff

Published: May 11, 2006 11:00 AM ET
NEW YORK In his first week in the job, new White House Press Secretary Tony Snow is already having issues with CBS News, and slamming The New York Times and USA Today.

"Snow has fired off several emails to reporters. One rapped the Times for continuing to “ignore America’s economic progress,” while another hit USA Today for a “misleading Medicare story.” He also knocked CBS News on Wednesday for Jim Axelrod’s piece on seniors having problems with the Bush drug plan. Axelrod responded today."

http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1002501230

3. More on the HUD man, Alfonso Jackson.

From Thinkprogress:

"Jackson stressed that “HUD provides ‘business opportunities for many in this room to get rich,’” adding that “one contract can make you wealthy.” That was the purpose of the speech, to explain to a well-heeled crowd (including former Dallas Cowboys players Roger Staubach and Emmitt Smith) how to rake in cash from the federal government.
It’s not about providing a valuable service at a fair price. It’s about getting on the list, getting the money flowing and making sure you don’t criticize the President. Whether the details of Jackson’s speech were fact or fiction, it’s a grossly irresponsible message and a violation of the public trust." Jackson is already in violation: YOU CANNOT GUARANTEE ANYONE SUCCESS OR GETTING WEALTHY AND THAT GOES FOR ANY POTENTIAL BUSINESS THAT ONE STARTS. Jackson is good as gone from his job real soon.. The Gerbil can't help him on this!

This is a bit off topic, but relevant, I think. And since so many people seem to be posting here I thought I would add this note. I am really frightened that our Congress is going to rob us of the internet through gutting network neutrality. This blog and many other internet treasures will likely be much more difficult to access is congress allows the internet carriers to buy its vote. And it looks like that may happen. If you have not done so, please contact your congress people directly to tell them to vote to perserve the freedom of the internet. And please tell everyone you know who might care about the internet to do the same. Also moveon.org has a petition. There is another organization I just learned about, the electronic freedom frontier (I believe) that is working to actively derail the plans to gut the internet. This just makes me sick.

And, I can't hold my breath until tomorrow, but it is not going to be easy to focus on my work until there is an announcement. Best wishes and Godspeed to Patrick J. Fitzgerald, his staff, and everyone who cares about our democracy.

Folks,

I just received an email from the 6th grader blogger, Jordan's mom, Nancy. I thought I share it with you:

Jordan's mom here.

That is pretty darn amazing that the Prez' detailed schedule was
treated so casually.

FYI - I think Jordan is having a hard time opening up PDF files at
his dad's (where he usually is M-F til the end of the school year).
And also they have a dial-up connection. And also he technically is
banned from using the computer for anything except schoolwork over
there so as far as I can tell, he's been defying his dad by working
on his blog and researching issues this week.

So, you see why he may not have had the chance to review the
documents and links sent this week.

Or maybe he has and just hasn't taken the time to respond. (smile)

Thanks for your gentle manner on his blog - what a great educational
experience for him!

SPB,

Couldn't Fitz meet with the Grand Jury early then announce the indictment. I was looking over the transcripts to the Libby indictment and it sounded like it was from the same day.
The excerpt that I'm referencing is:"A few hours ago a federal grand jury sitting in the District of Columbia returned a five count indictment against I Scooter Libby also known as Scooter Libby the Vice President's Chief of Staff".
So it could be possible that the press conference could be tommorrow also?

No, just idiot by the name: The Gerbil

Let's compare mafias vs. The Gerbil

1. Mafias are intelligent and thinker. The Gerbil is stupid and a thumbsucker!

2. Mafias are honest. When the Mafias says that they will rub you out. They will rub you out. The Gerbil is a flop flop.

3. The mafia is loyal. And the Gerbil: ask Abramoff and Cunningham. Whenever the winds blows or you sneeze the wrong way, the Gerbil will cut you loose.

4. Mafia is intelligent enough to cover their tracks and street smart. The Gerbil leavesa trail of evidence. He is still playing the Watergate textbook in the 21 century. Also, I can't say that he is textbook smart. He was drunk in college. He was yearning for bottle!

5. Mafia stands tall when they are convicted. The Gerbil uses the Gilligan defense, Nanny nanny boo boo defense, one armed bandit defense and "Don't blame me, blame Al-Queda" defense to get out of prison.

6. Mafia hires qualified people and a criminal attoney for a criminal defense. The Gerbil hires
his buddies and unqualified people.

7. Mafia can hold their liquor. The Gerbil, well, he yearns for bottle when he is under pressure. The smacking of his lips during press conferences are not for a taste of KFC chicken wings! It shows that he is yearning for the bottle.

Roughly one-quarter of U.S. adults say “things in the country are going in the right direction,” while 69% say “things have pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track.” This trend has declined every month since January, when 33% said the nation was heading in the right direction. Iraq remains a key concern for the general public, as 28% of Americans said they consider Iraq to be one of the top two most important issues the government should address, up from 23% in April. The immigration debate also prompted 16% of Americans to consider it a top issue, down from 19% last month, but still sharply higher from 4% in March.

The Harris poll comes two days after a downbeat assessement of Bush in a New York Times/CBS News poll. The Times, in analyzing the results, said “Americans have a bleaker view of the country’s direction than at any time in more than two decades.”

Patrick Henry, the bloggers here have been informed of the fact that this is a faux blog but choose to ignore it. They seem to live in a bubble and don't take kindly to having that bubble burst. Well, Fitz could solve the mystery of 'is this or isn't this a real blog' once and for all by naming the tie and we could watch for it....was going to do that anyway. Before any appearance on TV.

But it isn't clear what tie yet.

Do tell Mr. Henry, why hasn't Fitz shut it down? You don't think a prosecutor would allow someone to impersonate him for long, do you?

This in response to Patrick Henry. When I found this blog, I thought it was probably not real. But I really liked the blog. I read it every day and I read most of the comments every day. Lots of good information here. Lots of smart people with good insights. And I really like the persona of the author of From the Desk of Patrick J. Fitzgerald. What a guy that character is, and my idea of how a person of integrity and wisdom, with a great sense of humor and who holds democratic values dear, might choose to present himself. So, my decision has been to keep checking in with this blog, and I really don't care who is writing it. Everyday, reading this blog I am reminded of the best that we can be. And I desperately need that to avoid sinking into a level of cynicism and despair, that would lead me, like "the gerbil" to yearn for the bottle.

And, Mr. Henry, you are free to read this blot or not, and think what you want about it.

I don't believe this blog is really from Fitzgerald. First of all how could the SP find the time to support such a thing and why would he? Secondly, why would he craft such delicate cases and run the risk of the blog interfering with those cases in some irrelevent manner? I would think that keeping tight lips would be the most appropriate thing to do and certainly the SP's vanity cannot be so shallow as to require a blog to stroke his efforts.

As to why someone would do this kind of blog is really kind of sad. When disinformation is the rule of the day having another false or suspect venue is not helping. It defelcts people's attentions away from reality and provides false hope for no good reason.

This whole business of Fitsgerald being a regular guy is unnecesary. I think anybody who cares about the process is not interested in how much of a regular Joe he is but rather is more concerned with how professional and competent he is. Having a blog like this is neither professional nor competent not to mention unnecessary.

This is what happens when people are starved for the truth and cannot find a means to relieve their anxiety and concerns. This is pandering to people in the exact same way as the administration does by creating an illusion to defelct people away from reality.

As to why the real Fitzgerald does not shut this site down I would hope he is too busy with pursuing real criminals to have the time or inclination to dignify the site with actions.

I would suspect that the real creator of this site is Special Prosecutor Biloxi who posts frequently and ubiquitously. Perhaps Fitz is a personna for this blogger and he enjoys pretending that he is somehow enfranchised into the legal process.

Think about it. Here you are the special prosecutor going after the most powerful people in the country who have shown themselves to be masters of deceit, corruption and illegal behavior. So the first thing you are going to do is start a blog when you have the power of the US judicial system at your disposal? I don't think so. For the real Fitzgerald I would think that it would be most appropriate to be as above board as possible to prevent those for whom is investigating from using any hint of inpropriety from adversely affecting his efforts.

Also think about what possible advantage a blog this provides Fitzgerald? None.

Well, that goes without saying.

"Most of us don't really care if it truly is PJF's blog, but assume it is."

One of the problems I see that allows someone like George Bush to come to power is the fact that people have lost their ability to tell shit from shinola. Everything starts to have a verisimilitude that makes approaching the truth about anything become like Xeno's paradox. You can never get there but suffer the delusion that you are moving in the right direction.

You guys can have a blog sandbox to build your castles. Me, I am going for the truth because I have found it is always worth the effort.

America is GAME OVER.

You people are wortrying about the small things. No one here sees the big picture. Russia essentially told off the US today, and ALSO told us to get our act together in Afghanistan.

Ths posturing and gesturing is over, America stands alone as of today.

We can either cooperate with the rest of the world now, or choose to wreck everything.

Today is the day, all right. Only the big news was not Rove. It's too late.

I think most of the bloggers that come to this blog on a regular basis, have one common goal. That is for a better world.

We have a dream of the way America used to be. We want that America back, and not only for us but for our children, grandchildren and all people of these great States.

We want honest and truthful politicians in our government, those that actaully want to be public servants to the people. We are sick of the deceit, greed, corruption, and lies.

We want peace in the world, we want world leaders to communicate and not think that war is the only option to solve world problems.

We have hope, faith and yes, desire to see a better world for tomorrow.

We look to leaders that bring us those things. Fitz is a person that brings us hope and faith. Whether he posts here or not, or if he reads this blog or not, is not important.

We bloggers have a respect for Fitz and his team.
We also have a respect for one another because we have common goals. :)

Now, Fitz, whether you read this or not, please have a wonderful day... and bring home the bacon!! :)

Would appreciate your posting a link. Am aware that Putin has made some very strong statements essentially warning the US to "back off" And, given that, to me it becomes even more critical that we take steps to remedy the problems in our government that have invited all the ill will.

Exhibit A" #6 for Night Owl only!

Night Owl,

A followup:

Let’s see I got this right. “Exhibit A” has ties to Abramoff. He hired Susan Ralston, Abramoff’s former assistant in 2001. Ralston was the liason between “Exhibit A” and Grover Norquist. He left Norquist to call all the shot at the WH. Now, Norquist who had been charged with fraud and money laundering who has ties to Abramoff. And Abramoff has ties to DeLay. Now, Alexander Strategy Group a lobbying firm is really part of DeLay Inc. and Abramoff Inc (basically a front to funnel money illegally). And one of Alexander Strategy Group’s biggest clients was Group W Advisors, a San Diego-based defense consultant. The company is owned by Brent Wilkes, a business man who has ties to Cunningham whom both have ties to the Hookergate scandal. In other words, “Exhibit A” is directly involved and ties in the Norquist/Abramoff/DeLay/Wilkes/
Cunningham/Hookergate saga.

Nice post SQ and I do agree with you.
Speaking only for myself, I really don't care that it might be a faux blog, it is a place to come and visit with people who are all frustrated with the Bushco people, and hoping that Fitz actually will do what we think he plans to do.
Most of the info available on this blog is available elsewhere and none of us would ever think (I don't believe) that this is an inside track.

I enjoy talking with you all - do I believe it's actually Fitz? Well yes I have questions - but I still enjoy the blog and the people here.

We are here because more than anything, we care about our country and the boneheaded dictator and scumbags that are trying to ruin it.

If Rove and others need to go to jail - so be it. We'll all learn about any GJ decision when it happens.

It's also nice because a lot of the things posted provide legal info into how the system works and I find that really interesting. One of the posts involved how a GJ works - both local and federal.

Here, most of us share the same ideals and fun. So before you criticize us and believe we all worship at the Fitz alter and truly believe he is here - it really doesn't matter.

We're here because we enjoy it! We are not stupid - we are all hoping for Truth and Justice to still prevail in our country.

Folks,

Here is more on the Enron case and closing arguments set for next week. From WSJ:

Enron: The Closings
Posted by Peter Lattman

On Monday morning, Judge Sim Lake will read the jury instructions, which will include the controversial “ostrich” defense. Then prosecutor Kathy Ruemmler will take three hours to deliver the government’s closing argument but will she be sporting her bright pink stilletos spikes?)

Then on Tuesday, a melange of lawyers for Skilling and Lay will have six hours give their closing arguments. Prosecutor Sean Berkowitz will then have a chance to respond on Wednesday.
Johnson boils what each side needs to accomplish quite nicely:
The defendants need to plant the seeds of doubt in the mind of only one of the eight women and four men on the jury to win a mistrial. Prosecutors need a unanimous verdict on at least one charge to convict.
Both Lay’s and Skilling’s lawyers previewed their themes. “This is a case that is a very complex case, and it’s got room in it for reasonable minds to disagree,” said Lay lawyer Michael Ramsey. Said Skilling attorney Daniel Petrocelli: “I’ve got to deal with five years of preconceived notions and whether any of that has changed. This is not about whether Jeff or Ken did a good job or a bad job. It’s about whether they committed crimes.”

BTW, the bright pink stilletos spikes is reference of what prosecutor Kathy Ruemmler wore. And an interesting fashion statement for an attorney!!!

Excerpt: Book suggests Libby's relationship with reporters spared him Plame coverage
Eric Boehlert

"In the new book, Lapdogs: How the Press Rolled Over for Bush, author Eric Boehlert claims that a good relationship with the press may have spared former vice presidential chief of staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby unflattering coverage--and as a result, silenced the media on the unfolding Plame Affair. Reprinted with permission."

Yes and my point was simply to say that there are procedures that a GJ follows. People were asking about timing, and discussing what Fitz did with the Libby indictment.

I simply directed them here. After all, Fitz posts on all those blogs too. And why is everyone so concerned about whether or not it's the "real" Fitz. So far no inside information has been given or even implied!

As for believing - well - I'm hoping that wherever PJF is today, that things will work out for our country! When Rove is indicted, it will be due to the efforts of one Patrick J. Fitzgerald.
