Bush Is "Leaker-In-Chief.."

Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA), the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee - "If the disclosure is true, it's breathtaking. The President is revealed as the Leaker-in-Chief.
Leaking classified information to the press when you want to get your side out or silence your critics is not appropriate.
The reason we classify things is to protect our sources - those who risk their lives to give us secrets. Who knows how many sources were burned by giving Libby this 'license to leak'?
If I had leaked the information, I'd be in jail. Why should the President be above the law?
The President has the legal authority to declassify information, but there are normal channels for doing so. Telling an aide to leak classified information to the New York Times is not a normal channel. A normal declassification procedure would involve going back to the originating agency, such as the CIA, and then putting out a public, declassified version of the document.
I am stunned that the President won't tell the full the Intelligence Committee about the NSA program because he's allegedly concerned about leaks, when it turns out that he is the Leaker-in-Chief." [more]
Jane, maybe it is time to yank the Commander and Chief's Security Clearance, yes?

Love the new name for the Gerbil by Harman, "Leaker-in-Chief!" She called a spade a spade for sure! In addition to the security clearance card to take away from the Gerbil, Rove,Cheney, Hadley/Badly etc. should be stripped their cards. Don't forget to remove the Gerbil's unused and empty booze bottles from the WH. With this latest blow to the Gerbil, he may be yearning for the bottle. And the bottle can't help him now!

Nice title change at lease it fits.
Now who's telling the truth? Libby or Bush? Who is the honest one and has never lied. I guess Bush thinks that as we have no constitution that he really is the law thereby can't brake it. Yes a President who is above the law even Nixon couldn't do that. America has a leader to be proud of one that lies, cheats, kills and steals with a religious support team. I guess Satan really has taken over the White House.

Fitz security clearence mean nothing as people have committed crimes with that kind of clearence. Classified means nothing unless Bush needs that info. How many criminals in this Administration have security clearences. Lets see how the Bush supporters spin this one or will they blame Iran for the leak? Chris Matthews will have to earn his money with this one, he good at lying right in your face and MSNBC will give their full support on the blame/spin/lie.

Think we should get Helen Thomas to be the new Press Sec'y.

What fun that would be...

Leaker-in-Chief.

We are most certainly at an all time low on morals for this country.. I seem to recall another one of those 'tidbits' of 'morality' that this assinine cow was to bring to America in his second term.

You bet it is. Remember, this is the same Jane Harman who voted for the Iraq War, and who supports its continuation, and who voted for the Patriot Act (twice), and whose outrage, when the illegal NSA warrantless-spying program was finally exposed, was directed not at the president, but at the New York Times.

But Ms. Harman, for those who don't know, is indeed some heat from the left within her own district (and mine: CA-36), in the form of a primary challenger. That challenger's name is Marcy Winograd (the president of the local PDA chapter, who's been endorsed by Tom Hayden, Howard Zinn, Jim Hightower, Helen Caldicott, and others). So that's why we're suddenly getting empty left-sounding rhetoric (like this) from Jane Harman. What we're not getting, and what we'll never get from Jane Harman, is tangible action from her to stop or impede the president from his illegal warrantless spying on Americans, much less an actual vote to impeach this president for his lawbreaking.

That's why I'm begging you, as a constituent of Jane Harman's, to please help me remove her from office. Let's replace Blue Dog Jane with a real Democrat: Marcy Winograd.

It's amazing what related tidbits turn up when a special prosecutor finally has the power to break through much of the well-choreographed stonewalling. Unlike a recent independent counsel, however, Fitzgerald seems to have maintained a much better focus rather than embarking on a fishing expedition. You've got to admire a man with an attention span ;-)
