Plausible Deniability..?

"President Bush must fully disclose his participation in the selective leaking of classified information," said Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid in a brief statement. "It's time for the President to come clean about his involvement in the leak case."

President Bush, 9/30/03:
"I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information. If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action."
President Bush, 9/30/03:
"If there is a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is. And if the person has violated law, the person will be taken care of. . . . I have told our administration, people in my administration to be fully cooperative. I want to know the truth. If anybody has got any information inside our administration or outside our administration, it would be helpful if they came forward with the information so we can find out whether or not these allegations are true and get on about the business."
President Bush, 10/28/03:
"I'd like to know if somebody in my White House did leak sensitive information."
President Bush, 6/10/04:
Reporter: "Do you stand by your pledge to fire anyone found to have done so?"
President Bush: "Yes. And that's up to the U.S. Attorney to find the facts."
President Bush, 10/28/03:
"I want to know the truth. ... I have no idea whether we'll find out who the leaker is, partially because, in all due respect to your profession, you do a very good job of protecting the leakers."
President Bush, 7/18/05 issue of USA Today: "If someone committed crime, they will no longer work in my administration."
White House Press Secretary, 9/29/03:
"The President has set high standards, the highest of standards for people in his administration. He's made it very clear to people in his administration that he expects them to adhere to the highest standards of conduct. If anyone in this administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this administration."
White House Press Secretary, 10/7/03:
"Let me answer what the President has said. I speak for the President and I'll talk to you about what he wants . . .If someone leaked classified information, the President wants to know. If someone in this administration leaked classified information, they will no longer be a part of this administration, because that's not the way this White House operates, that's not the way this President expects people in his administration to conduct their business."

It's plausible...

A major flip flop Administraton. And the Gerbil has the audacity to talk about the flip flop of John Kerry in the 2004 election?

Nice "montage," Fitz. Reminds me of those video clips on The Daily Show. I shall don my flip-flops as a tribute.

Help please. I know that Fitz interviewed Cheney and Bush (remember, Bush insisted on having his personal attorney present). I believe these were not under oath. With this new proof of a direct connection, could anything they said during the investigation be held against them? or were these interviews meaningless?

Now we have heard the President honestly say he wants the truth to come out and he will fired anyone who was responsible for the leak. I ask Bush supporters should we believe the President or the facts? The President has not lied yet or has he. WMD's and possible an attack soon from Iraq. Oh that doesn't count, the Ports deal oh he didn't know anything about it, Abramoff and the President didn't know who he was and never met him oh ya that was wrong too. Americans can believe an honest truthfull President who would never lied to the Public or the world. Lets see how this unfolds.

"real information"..

Bush is a true hypocrite when it comes to leaks in his own administration.
Does he really have any credibility left?
Just waiting for the next CNN poll to see how far his numbers plummet this time.
BTW-When is Snotty Scott McFelon's last day on the job?

The key phrase here is "leaked classified material" - "I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information. If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action." Bush

Thing is, and I am sure Dr. Evil will back me on this, is that the President can declassify documents/information at will - Libby, Rove and Hadley outing an agent of the CIA and and lying about it is a different issue than the NIE docs.

Gimme my free Do Not Go To Jail card now, please. Hee Hee.

The WH Press secretary job is waiting for you! Make sure you fill out the employment papers with your real name unlike Hadley/Badly!

Extra, Extra!

I was waiting for Jason Leopold's article. Well , here is from Truthout.org. As usual, Leopold does an excellent job following up with the CIA Leak case. Here are excerpts:

"The officials, some of whom are attorneys close to the case, added that more than two dozen emails that the vice president's office said it recently discovered and handed over to leak investigators in February show that President Bush was kept up to date about the circumstances surrounding the effort to discredit former Ambassador Joseph Wilson."

" The sources indicated that the leak probe is now winding down, and that soon, new information will emerge from the special counsel's office that will prove President Bush had prior knowledge of the White House campaign to discredit Plame Wilson's husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, who accused the administration of "twisting" intelligence on the Iraqi threat in order to win public support for the war."

"According to four attorneys who over the past two days have read a transcript of the President Bush's interview with investigators, Bush did not disclose to either investigators or the special counsel that he had authorized Cheney or any other administration official to leak portions of the NIE to Woodward and Miller or any other reporter. Rather, these people said the president said he frowned upon "selective leaks."

" President Bush signed an executive order in March 2003 authorizing Cheney to declassify certain intelligence documents. The executive order was signed on March 23, 2003, four days after the start of the Iraq war, and two weeks after Wilson first appeared on the administration's radar."

CENSURE / IMPEACH / IMPRISON
This today, from the 'Gerbil' himself, to an audience in NC:
"When America speaks, we ought to mean what we said," Bush said. "I meant what we said when we embraced that resolution that said 'Disclose. Disarm. Or face serious consequences.' Words mean something in this world if you're trying to protect the American people."
