Hammer It Home...

Democrats will propose several amendments to give lobbying reform "teeth." The following are their characterizations of the proposals:
*Crackdown on backroom legislating affecting conference reports. (Amendments 1, 2)
* Allow members to "actually read the bills they pass." (Amendments 3,5)
* The Hammer Rule: crackdown on alleged arm-twisting and influence peddling on the House Floor. (Amendment 4)
* Require leadership to include both parties in the conference process. (Amendment 6)
* Place strong disclosure requirements on all types of earmarks
* Tighten regulations on congressional use of corporate jets (Amendment 8)

Republicans are expected to reject the amendments on a party-line vote and just say "Yes, please" to graft.

perhaps they all have "issues" hence the no comment.

meaning
a) they probably have not been involved in a scuffle with a police officer
however
b) ... perhaps ... disgusting, yes? meaning some skeleton, some where, some investigative journalist would eventually find.

1. Oh, Oh! Loooks like we have a third aide of the The Hammer who pleaded guilty!:

In Slip, DeLay Says Third Former Aide Guilty
By Paul Kiel - April 5, 2006, 10:54 AM

"He points out that during his interview with Time, Tom DeLay let the cat out of the bag and admitted that a third former aide of his will be found guilty:

Only two of DeLay's former aides have already pled guilty: Tony Rudy and Michael Scanlon. Ed Buckham would be the third, and as we pointed out last week, he was recently implicated in Tony Rudy's guilty plea. So it already looked like he was likely to go down, but DeLay does us all the service of confirming it here."

2. From thinkprogress.org, Tom DeLay, on whether he might become a lobbyist: “Maybe.” Don't be too sure of that DeLay!

3. Mark this day on your calendar, folks:
"June 29.
Date on which Jack Abramoff will report to prison to begin serving his nearly six-year sentence in the Florida case."

Iran ... the continual pursuit by the Oval to twist the essence of the Constitution, to subvert the laws to suit their own greedy pursuit of oil, money and power:

http://blogs.washingtonpost.com/earlywarning/

this matched with the previous FT commentary on Russia/US relations on Iran,
fellow Flygirls, we're no longer in Kansas.

And another one: we've got trouble. Big trouble in River City.

Fitz we need to nail Rove at least soon ... with him at least removed, we may have a chance at some measure of assurance of not engaging in another war in the mid-east ... we most certainly lose on many levels should this frat-boy president engage us in to yet another unfounded war.

He's clearly heading in that direction. Hopefully Condi has the right shoes to wear, no less for her addressing the UN..

I think any woman would want to get tips from Condi for shoe tips. And that is just it, shoe tips! Condi certainly wouldn'[t give goo tips on her job as Girl Friday because that is what she is to the Gerbil: Girl Friday. All she knows from her current job is to shop. Ask her about military or the situation in Iraq, her opinions and thoughts are as good as the Gerbil saying that the Global Warming is warming the Globe! I rather ask the bum on the street for an answer before I ask Condi!!!

Back to the issues at hand:

Condi - Brainless, Out
WHIGs - please indict all now, no deals
Rove - out before he gets the Gerbil to press the stupid red button on Iran or send troops there
Cheney - give 'em a gun and ask him to point to the biggest canard in the room.

Teak,

Maybe or may not anyone of us can afford Condi's shoes. But, fact remains as you said that she is a disgrace. And what bothers me is Condi, the Gerbil, and gang has been taken the taxpayer's money and sending that for the war in Iraq whil spending the money on nonsense. Don't get wrong! Condi has a right to spend her money in what she chooses but she had no conscience at sll when she went window shopping for shoes on the day of Hurricane Katrina andwatched those people crying for help and saw people dying. And she turned away from it and did nothing! That is waht angers me about her! She is not different from the corrupted Gerbil Administration.

6 miles:

When Fitz finishes the Administration, you may want to rescind from the Nordie's card from Condi. When the Gerbil is removed once and for all, she may be applying for a food stamps! Forget about charge cards!

All,

I wanted to share this email that I gotten from Senator Barbara Boxer. Yes, I am on her distribution list. She is a person that stays true to her word and wants answers. Here is the email and excerpts:

From: Barbara Boxer
info@pacforachange.com

To: ******@*****.***
Date: Wednesday, April 5, 2006 8:38:57 AM
Subject: Rumsfeld dodges, Condi appears

"Dear ***********,
In March, you and more than 57,000 Americans signed my online petition to Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, demanding that he produce a plan for getting our troops out of the middle of an Iraqi civil war. Thank you so much for standing with me on this!
I had already written my own letter to Secretary Rumsfeld in late February. But instead of hearing back from him, earlier last week my office received a letter from Undersecretary of Defense Eric Edelman that didn't provide any of the information we're seeking -- nor did it assure me that that information would be forthcoming.
So last week I renewed my call to Secretary Rumsfeld, demanding that you and I hear from him -- directly -- about his plan for protecting American troops in the face of escalating violence between the Sunnis and Shias. After all, according to former Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi when describing the situation on the ground in his country, "If this is not civil war, then God knows what civil war is... Maybe we have not reached the point of no return yet. But we are moving towards this point."
I'll keep you posted on Secretary Rumsfeld's response. His primary responsibility is doing his utmost to protect our brave men and women in uniform who are putting their lives on the line for our country. Our soldiers deserve to know that Secretary Rumsfeld has a plan for the worst-case scenario, and with your help, I'm going to keep the pressure on until he produces it.
In the meantime, today I'm questioning Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during a hearing of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee about the misguided nuclear deal the Administration has negotiated with India.

Thanks so much for your continued support.
In Friendship,

Barbara Boxer
P.S. With Tom DeLay's decision to resign from Congress, one of the primary architects of the Republican Party's culture of corruption is leaving. That's an important victory -- but we still have much more to do."

Yes, there is more work to do for the Democrats! Rosemary, thanks for monitoring the blog for Fitz. You are awesome!!! Cheers!

"What would you say to military families that don't think like you?
AN: They don't have enough information, and they need to get it from places other than television.

ARG! See what I have to put up with??

This stupid line of questions won't end until Fitz indicts more of them.
Which I hope and pray is SOON.

Anon,

Let's hope so! It is very frustrated for me when people on the blog has a question for me and I have a hard time trying to find the question when Dr. Nimrod Evil full blasts comments all over the blog. I hope that the blog can go back to normal with intelligent quesrions and answers from fellow bloggers. I just don't want the blog to turn into Faux news!

Remember, the media is much in the dark about the miltary and the situation with Iraq. I know that it is frustrating to youbecause you want answer. When Fitz indicts Rove, Cheney, Hadley/Badly, and gang, you will get you wish. We will remove the Gerbil President. Just be patient! Watch how the Gerbil Administration is crumbling. The momentum of the withdrawal of troops from the American people, the censoring of the Gerbil, and the November elections will play a role of getting this country back into order. But, we have to clean house first.

More in the news! Before I get to that, I did finally watch (I taped this of course) the Today's show this morning where Ms. Kinney and her lwyer gave her side to the story of that incidebt. There more of that incident story of McKinney that meets the eye.

Here is the news:

From Thinkprogress.org:

Under the Radar
IRAQ -- BUSH FAILS TO PUT MONEY BEHIND HIS RHETORIC OF DEMOCRACY PROMOTION: Last week, President Bush spoke before Freedom House and underscored his commitment to "help the Iraqi people overcome past divisions and form a lasting democracy." Bush said, "At Freedom House you understand that the only path to lasting peace is the expansion of freedom and liberty." Now, Freedom House is telling Bush that his efforts to establish democracy in Iraq fall far short of what is required

The president's supplemental Iraq spending request includes just $10 million for democracy promotion, and his proposed budget for fiscal 2007 asks for $63 million, a tiny fraction of the tens of billions of dollars spent each year on Iraq.

The Gerbil spending money like koolaid... The definition of insanity!

HOMELAND SECURITY -- WAL-MART BLOCKS TIGHTER PORT SECURITY: A new report by the AFL-CIO shows that Wal-Mart and its lobbyist, the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), have systematically worked to weaken port security by investing "heavily in the members of Congress with the most sway over ports and supply-chain security issues, as well as the Bush administration and the Republican National Committee." Since 2000, Wal-Mart has given $173,000 to 18 of the 19 Republican members on the House Homeland Security Committee; four of the committee's 14 Democrats also accepted donations, at a total of $18,500.

A corrupted Congress. Makes me ill to hear the loss of integrity in Congress. As I mention before, if I were in charge with the paycheck of every person in Congress, they get nada and not a single dime of a raise! They can go panhandling to earn money for all I care! Folks, let's put an end to all the corruption in the Administration. Get those indictments ready Fitz! Remove the Gerbil!!!!

Final news:

1. More on Rep. Cynthia McKinney:

Grand Jury to Hear McKinney Run-In Case

'A federal grand jury will soon begin hearing evidence about Rep. Cynthia McKinney's run-in with a Capitol Police officer, a lawyer familiar with the case said late Wednesday."

2. Another pervert in Homeland Security. Uh, Calling for Patrick J,. Fitzgerald. Add this one to your list of sex cases. Homeland Security is turning into frickin perverts! From Americablog:

"3rd Homeland Security employee in trouble for child sex trolling
by John in DC - 4/05/2006 07:32:00 PM
Predator III: Michael Burks. The story came out only two months ago.
Michael Burks: My father was a police officer. I was a police officer. I work for the Department of Homeland security. I understand you guys have a job to do and I’m not trying to tell anything else other than that. I swear to God, as God as my witness, I’m wearing a St. Michael’s medal right now, okay? I was not going to do anything with her.
But the detective doesn’t seem to be buying his story.
Police officer: I am telling you I don’t believe that you didn’t intend to have sex at some point with the girl.

Burks: Sir, I swear to God.

Police officer: It would have happened, I guarantee you, it would have happened."

Right!

3. Another person to support the Buffoon Lieberman and you will never guess who? From Crooks and Liars:

"Another Republican supports Lieberman
It looks like Jeff Gannon is on board."

And you have it. Now, that is pure desperate!!! Have a wonderful evening, folks!

Achtland ,

I was about to leave the blog but you ask specifically a question to me. Here is my answer to you. Fitzgerald has always said that his blog is for the freedom of speech of all bloggers. He never deletes any messages and everyone on this blog respects one another comments whether you agree or disagree with any comments. We don't care what race, color, creed, nationality, religion or not, or political party. The concern is when a person gets on the blog and simply blasts numerous uncomfortable messages to the bloggers and to Fitzgerald. Now, let's talk about Dr. Evil. I have proof that Dr. Evil has a motive and intention to blast this blog Ashland. I have dates and times and corrispondences from Dr. Evil to another blogger on a another site that he intended to blast Fitz's site purposely. Fitz had advised Dr. Evil to show respect to the fellow bloggers who are mothers of soldiers that are overseas. That's all. I don't know if Dr. Evil is your friend or not. But, this blog is not one sided. We honor the 1st amendment on this blog as well as in the United States of America. That is what freedom is all about. And we welcome your comments as well as any person who aboard on the blog if you choose to post comments. But, please respect these bloggers on this blog because many of them have supported this blog and Fitzgerald from the beginning. As you respect them, we will respect you. We value each every comment whether we are agree or disagree with one another comments! I hope this information helps. Thank you!
