The cartoon issue has really snowballed. And we have problems with the freedom of speech and religion here in the U.S. This is certainly a world issue.

Sprechen Sie Deutsch, Grandmanuk?

And what a way to represent the United States to give a sign that represents Satan. Norway wasn't exactly thrilled. But, what do you expect from the President and his daughter. Qué un imbécil!

Buffoon, you say?
Buffoonery as well?

Plenty abounds in HUMONGOUS amounts:
a) some $300M in trailers purchased by some brainaic under 'Good Job Brownie' to let them sit in ARKANSAS and not in
the PLAINS IN TEXAS?! where alot of the victims of Katrina fled?
wow -- where's the IQ test for Brownie? Chertoff?
b) Cheney -- his feelings are so hurt that he shot his now termed 'acquaintance' at close range, in the heart, in the eye, TERRIFIC!
c) Rove still has his secret clearance -- I wonder what S&^% he'll dream up to screw the Constitution and the American wallet with while Dr Evil is caught up in his latest 'dido' act.

Absolute, absolute PIFFLE.

Back to Cheney:
PJF -- I'm not following the 'rationale' of Cheney et al "testifying" but not under oath.

What the heck gives.
That s--- is well, damn annoying --> why should 'Average Jane Doe/John Doe' put their dern hand on the bible and go under 'oath' if our jackasses in the Oval/Administration will not?

I see, their more 'privilidged'/special than us is that it? Don't get it.

Respect each others difference. Most Americans have no idea what the muslin regilion is about. Their govenment and religion is together. I know that Bush wants everybody to be christian but we have to look at the history to see religions before Christ. I thought we would have learned that lesson by our own history. As Africans who were different came to America they still keep their countries belief and even today African Americans are going to Africa to find out about the country of their roots. Freedom of speech is understood by the western world you can't make people change because you have power/invasion/bommbs to make them do as you say. We have to learn their culture. Now that the photo's of Abu Grab have come out as to what we did to the Iraq people its time to look at ourselves. We have to be accountable and respect the world before we can move on for peace. I was wondering if someone used an old picture of a black during the 1800's and using the N word what do you think would happen in this country. Would Americans say freedom of speech or would they say we have learned that this is our past and we learned and don't want our children to repeat those evils. Just a thought.

Hey. 6 miles:

Try to relax! You getting to act like Cheney. We certainly don't want you to go postal on us. We need your sanity. I know there is a lot of stuff happening today. But, rest assured, that Elmer J. Fufd Cheney or Butterball Cheney is just plain scared. He just put his foot in his mouth when he pointed the finger to Libby. I know that Fitz is laughing and ready to say "checkmates on those idiots because that is what they are IDIOTS! Cheney certainly didn't get the sympathy card from the public. He just left so many unanswered questions to the public. So, try not to burst a bubble over this. Cheney better pray that he doesn't go before Whittington does.

The rampant BS is a little bit much to take ..

if this were California we certainly would be 10 feet under a major cow patty farm!

We're under siege from our own Administration!

It's frustrating!

I agree. It is a bit frustrating especially all of the current events and the Bush Adminstration acting as though it is "business as usual" mentality. Remember, we are in the month of February and this year is not done. Look has come out about the Adminstration's tactics! But, a lot of people have to realize that in order to fight the Adminstration is not vote for the people, who are has ties with Bush, back in office. When this situation like this one and other current issues hit people and they get pissed, then, 6 miles, people will declare war on the administration!

Well if a few of the fellow bloggers were here I would suggest a local watering hole for a round of Merlot or whatever sauce cools the whistle to peel ourselves off the ceiling, as it were.

I notice, most of the bloggers here are independent and not necessary Dem .. this is very encouraging.

Rampant corruption -- both sides of the aisle ... yes, Republicans a little more overt and over the top than the Dems, however that does not give license for the Dems 'have at it'.

Well, to vote these knuckleheads out of office, we need an
honest voting system to do so!

Whaddya think the voting this year will be, uhm, er, skewed .. e.g. rigged?!

Zero confidence in Oval, Administration, Cabinet and far reaching top cats in Armed Services who are 'appointed' .. all the deputies, I provide a very heartfelt sympathetic ear.

When I mean to vote the people connected to Bush, I mean both Democrats and Republican. Plesse don't think that I am pulling for one party because I am not. Both parties have problems and corrupttion. and believe me, I am very active to write, email, and speak with my local lawmakers in my area. And even though there so many GOP corrupted from these scandals and the Democrats, don't think that I don't criticized the Democrats on some their tactics and thumbsucking tactics when dealing with Bush. Because I do. But, people need to start speaking out more. I just don't mean just the bloggers but the entire American people. People here in the U.S. are too comfortable the way things are and not willing to take a stand. I know that you are strong willed and "get thing done" type of person. That is what I admire about you. But, there are not many 6 miles, Bluewild, Jackie, Grandmanuk, Kit Neill, etc. in this world. I wish that they were. I know that you want Fitz to get those indictments asap to nail the Adminstration. But, like in chess, in order to get checkmate, you have to capture the King and Queen and the bishops. I would rather for Fitz to connect the dots very carefully and not leave any loopholes for those crooks to walk. It is all or nothing. Look at the Nixon era, so many people took a stand in that era and wanted Nizon impeached. That is what the people need to do: take a stand against the adminstration. Keep the faith 6 miles! You are awesome!

Cooled down ..:) no, not due to any Merlot, just watching something more newsworthy than talking heads on quail, Cheney and watching a snarky Matalin with him.

...? did they think we wouldn't figure out the trailers were sinking into the terra firma in Arkansas and not ever benefitting the people of Katrina?

shoot -- even wholesaling for a 'month's hotel bill' to put 'where ever you can find a spot'; ? friends backyard, rent a spot in a trailer park for them..

that's just off the cuff ..

Is it that $300M is a drop in the bucket when we look at the price tag for Iraq, that they've lost their entire perspective?
Now they're cutting off paying the hotel bill?!

Simply diabolical. At best a bungle of epic proportions.

The Norwegians might have a point, think about it. They are not the only voice however; it appears the argument is being structured as if they were the only people objecting. When you are joking about with friends and taking a picture that is what you do. You make your hand in the exact same shape as the "Texas Longhorns," sign and everyone knows you are joking behind his head that your friend is a "little devil."

In Hawaii there is a legend about a railway man who made something like that sign, but with the thumb outstretched. He lost his fingers in an accident, so it was his greeting for many years.

So not all of this is to be taken too seriously, it is much ado about nothing. But nonetheless the "appearances of impropriety," are a more serious business in politics, but it should not render us humorless.

I honestly hope this whole thing is a joke we could all laugh about, however many of us do take these things very seriously. The peripheral data about clubs and groups having "secret signs, handshakes and so forth," is enough grist for the mill.
