Born Yesterday..?

In my line of work you learn how to read between the lines.

Secret Service spokesman Eric Zahren said at least one deputy showed up at the ranch's front gate Saturday night and asked to speak to Cheney, but was turned away by Secret Service agents.

Zahren said there was some miscommunication and that arrangements had been made for the vice president to be interviewed Sunday morning. The VP, in the field, with the shotgun and a snort of Jameson.

UPDATE 2-15: Cheney admits drinking alcohol before shooting.

Ah yes, Jameson the nectar of the Irish Gods. DO you think Cheney has good taste beyond Pabst Blue Ribbon beer?

Ahhh the man he shot suffered a heart attack.

And he gets off for blowing this off, blowing him with his gun and not having the full hunting licence ??

I guess you just have to have sex in the old oval office - not give the nod to out a CIA under cover agent, be buddies with a corrupt lobbyist...
I think Bush and Cheney feel they are above any law???

Happy V day Fitz

Miscommunication, huh? Uh huh! Well, somebody got paid off for sure. And what's with the liquor? Did Cheney bribe the secret service with that or did Cheney take the sauce with him on the quail trip to quench his thirst? What I really want to know is that when Cheney was aiming at the quail, whom or what was going through his mind???

O.k. Fitz, you left that last part of the sentence out from your posting. Cheney took the sauce. Poor "Elmer J. Fudd" Cheney. He needed a drink and for what or whom?

Fitiz,

If he was impaired with liquor or not, his judgement in this circumstance was beyond stupid!

What "if" this would have been a critical decision to be made by the VP- for the safety of our country?

(We would have gone to "Code Blue"--we would all be dead.)

To sum it up in a nutshell:

those in the Oval both Dr Evil and Mini-Me are reprehensible, irresponsible, arrogant, corrupt and the devils-incarnate.

They must be removed from office.

On a separate note: what is Schumer's problem..? He takes the rug out from underneath a guy, he makes a commitment with in the race for Senate in Ohio?!

CORRUPT -- both sides of the aisle.
Out - out- with them all!

Absolutely, Anon @2:04...

This whole incident should make it clear that Cheney would not have the presence of mind and composure to govern in the event of an emergency.

Day 4 and he is still in hiding. God help us all if we ever have to depend on him.

At this point, there is one postive note to all this: It's not likely that he will be invited to help bolster any GOP candidate campaigns this year.

6 miles: screwy, eh?

Agreed, jules...isn't Cheney always in hiding?

Since Whittington had the minor heart attack this morning, "what if", he were to have a serious heart attack and die? He is now back in ICU again. Hopefully, he will be ok. (But if he did die,
would this be manslaughter or murder?)

? if, unfortunately, the man does die from the shooting over the weekend now after hearing about his 'minor' heart attack [more spin];

? what does Cheney get charged with?

Don't worry, 6 miles:

Justice will prevail. Cheney better hope that he doesn't have a heart attack now that his friend has to stay in the hospital for another week. Doctors wants to make sure the other pellets don't move to the Wellington's organs (let's hope not!). The corrupted people in the Oval office will be brought down: Dubya (Bush), Elmer J. Fudd (Cheney), Condi, Rummy (Rumsfield), Turd Blossom (Rove) and the little soldier (Irve). These names are starting to sounds like a cartoon. Wallace & Gromitt has nothing on these bunch of characters in the White House!

p.s. Cheney could be charged with manslaughter if his friend dies. But, this all the depends of what Cheney is holding back from the media and the police. Fitz just indicated that he had a bottle of liquor with him. I wonder if alcohol is a contribute to that hunting accident or anything else?

Fitz,

Its time for all of us to force the third party into nationwide acceptance. Screw these dirt bastards for dissin' hackett...

I know even you were behind that guy...so was I...until the idiots in washington screwed him over.

They can't mess with the working class party anymore, we're gonna drag all their asses out to the curb.

By the way I think Cheney's metaphor is something for the irish gods...what was it, in greek mythology poiseiden could never see or hit straight? Whittington is one unlucky guy!

Get the pinstripe suits out... ;D

Jameson is too good for Cheney.
I'm guessing Old Overcoat.

Now did I hear Mr. Whittington had a heart attack Sat. night or had one today or had heart attacks both nights?

Mr Whittington was probably way closer than 30 yards when Cheney fired. And BTW, at 5:30 pm on February 10, the light level is pretty low to be still out hunting in a line like that. Why wasn't the hunt called?

Cheney drinking? After four heart attacks?

Oh NO, my tax dollars should not be going to support someone who has problems, due to "his lifestyle choices"

Petro only did his job because people harrassed him to do so-and he wants to get elected. He was aware there was tons of election fraud and yet he did NOTHING...

I am not impressed-there is much more where that came from. I'll only be impressed if he goes all the way with it. I won't hold my breath. Look at our Gov...

Thank you for clairifying all that.
But one more question, if he was intoxicated while hunting, is that not like being drunk while driving? Shouldn't this be a serious crime? If so, if a person is DWI and has an accident, doesn't that change everything? In this case, shouldn't it change the "accident" if Cheney was "drunk while hunting" ?

3:38 PM

Well, I guess that was 4 more questions...LOL

Anon at 3:38 pm:

Intoxication is a serious crime. What Cheney did is equivalent to being a behing a wheel of a car. The responsibility as a hunter is also the same responsibility as a driver. Now, the question how drunk was Cheney (we are assuming that he was drunk or tipsy of the shooting)? We don't know because we weren't told if the police had a suspicion that Cheney was drinking or asked Cheney to take breath test. This depends on Cheney's alcohol level. But, you know, laws have changed for people who are under the influence. Last year, actress, Tracie Gold, was arrested for DUI and charged with child endangement. She had a couple of glasses of wine and went behind the wheel and got into a car accident. Her husband and children were hurt. She only had 2 glasses of wine and she wasn't drunk. But, according to the police, her blood alcohol level was high. So, it depends on Cheney. Yes, you are right. If a person had a DUI and have an accident, the penalties are very stiff for a person. Now, for Cheney, if he was drunk during the shooting and he has a DUI, then yes, that changes a lot. If, Bush tries to get him out this mess, then Bush will open a can of worms for current and past DUI cases. Again, this is just assumption on my part. We don't know if Cheney was or wasn't drunk during the hunting accident. And each state has different strict rules on DUI. My collegues tell me that in California, that state is extremely strict on DUI. If you get a DUI in California, it sort of like death sentence. We just have to wait and see what comes out from the Cheney's case. But, good questions!

thanks. If the spin continues, and I firmly believe it does, they knew he had suffered pellet shot/whatever it was, to the chest a/k/a heart right away.

Wait for Whittington to show some signs of 'life/normalcy' then release the info.

Spin continuing --> heart attack, now? well, sounds to me unfortunately, the good 'ol boy was not faring as well as those might like us to think.

Drinking? Well we all know alcohol causes fuzzy/delayed reactions .. could be, just could be, delayed shoot from Dr Evil and knew, knew it was Whittington, pulled trigger due to delay. We'll not know the truth ever [as usual] due to the rampant corruption from the Oval on any one given topic.

If the guy dies [I most certainly hope not], invol manslaughter; then, we'll wait to see how Cheney himself does on having a 5th heart attack.

Fitz, we need to start the indictments now as the line of succession is all corrupt -- past Norton -- YIKE

I have legal background, corporate, however, I'm not very familiar with criminal law.

Since Cheney didn't take a breathalizer test, and wasn't interviewed immediately by law enforcement officials, how can one prove now that he was intoxicated? Witnesses? (Secret Service and owner of the ranch)??

4:22 PM
Blogger SP Biloxi said...

Anon,

We simply are not given the informatiom on whether Cheney took a breathalizer test or nor interviews from the Secret Service of the condition of Cheney. Rest assured, anon, this is a coverup. I am sure without a shadow of doubt that if you, fellow bloggers, Fitz, or moi, SP Biloxi, were caught or become a suspicion to the law enforcement, you best believe we wouls have to take the breathalizer test. But, money has transferred hands in Cheney shooting. If there is a paper trail, in this case, it will lead to alot of answers to this case. I believe one of the witnesses or maybe the victim, himself.will eventually talk. The question is who?

Yep, a U.S. ambassador to Switzerland. And no one is talking about him. I wonder what he knows? Do you ever wonder why the media aren't asking him questions???

I think you answered your own question. It was accidental, then it would be accidental. But, let's face the facts that makes this case suspicous. We still haven't heard from the third hunter, witness, Secret service, or the victim's family members. And now, Cheney had a liquor bottle with him while hunting Yes, it smells bad. There is a big stink going on at 1600 Pennsyvania Ave. No one including the media will move on from this manner, There are too many questions unanswered.
