Howard Kurtz...

Eavesdropping on Congress

Poignant column in today's Wa. Po.
"The cable nets all made a great show of 'covering' the Senate Judiciary hearing by carrying the AG's opening statement, then maybe a question or two from Arlen Specter. Then they trotted out their legal analysts to talk about the meaning of the hearing, which by then must have been eight or nine minutes old. The hearing became video wallpaper as the cable talkers talked. They never even got to Pat Leahy, the panel's top Democrat, meaning that only Republican voices were heard. Gonzales essentially got a free ride."

And a standing ovation goes to Rev. Lowery who spoke at the late Coretta Scott King funeral. I sure wish that I was there to hear that and also attend Ms. King's funeral. She was a remarkable woman. May her legacy lives on! Way to go Rev. Lowery!

"We know now there were no weapons of mass destruction over there. [Standing Ovation] But Coretta knew and we know that there are weapons of misdirection right down here. Millions without health insurance. Poverty abounds. For war billions more but no more for the poor."

Iwatched it Special Prosecutor Biloxi - on MSNBC and it was so great to see it, and Carter also blasted Bush, it was great. Chris Matthews got all offended and blustery. Has he gotten wipier and wiper, or what?

And they all took pokes into Bush. I'm sorry but Bush deserved that spanking from the leaders. Yes, way to go to Carter! I got so tired of the thumbsuckers that wouldn't say anything wrong about Bush especially in his State of Union speech. But, Ms. King is smiling in heaven! And what can Chris Matthews say: Nada. There is still a big stink with Matthews' comments about Michael Moore.

I'm not robbing this bank. I'm just establishing an ad hoc capitalistic conviction. Can we make this an ex post facto withdrawl, please? Thank you.

It's time to get double legal water ready....

9-11 a complete neocon job for "Greater Israel" and friends

And then comes the doorprize....

Neocons have less than 20 days to respond to prosecutor lawsuit, before D.C. makes it actionable

I didn't get to see Mrs. Kings funeral but I heard Bushie did what he does best act stupid. He shouldn't have gone because he doesn't have the same belief. I guess he was upset his father was going with Bill. Bush used it as a photo op and I wonder what the victims of Katrina think of Bushie now. First he leaves them then he says I'm your friend vote Republican.

Jackie....Rev. Dr. Lowery had the
courage to speak for all of us. I've only been able to read the transcript, but he was awesome! Judging from the quick pics I've seen of the pres, he wasn't very happy. If there was a caption over his head, it might have been "what am I doing here?". We might ask the same question!

And nobody even began to ask the really critical questions...sheesh.

I wasn't able to see any of Mrs. King's funeral but read about it in the NYT.

The front page picture of Hillary speaking while Bill is intently listening by her side is touching.

And then the background of Shrub and Laura trying to stay awake really shows the difference in our current and past leadership.
