“Democratus Liberalas..?”

Patrick Fitzgerald’s Politics.

"Ever since he became U. S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, many people…including I…have been trying to deduce Patrick Fitzgerald’s politics. An Irishman born to a lower middle class family whose patriarch was a Catholic Manhattan apartment house doorman may mean (a) a Reaganesque Republican, blue collar, possibly pro-union but with traditional family values or (b) a hard-shelled Democrat who believes the Republican party is less interested in people than in preserving the patrimony for Wall Street and entrepreneurialism. Which is it?"

"Patrick Fitzgerald is a blooming species 'democratus liberalas' elitist snob, superior, condescending, patronizing…Democrat in deep blue hue, probably pro-Obama with a hidden desire to STIG (Stand Tall in Georgetown)." <more>
And I thought I was an "ENFJ".

Olbermann Exposes Nexus Of Politics And Terror

"Terrorists dry runs" on airplanes using blocks of cheese being pushed by local and national news.

Anyone notice all the info-possibly.the.truth.we.were.never.taught coming out about the last 100 or more years now?

What is with all these chemical plants catching on fire or exploding across the nation? Don't people notice how things seem to happen in groups?

Nary a word about the big money/drug bust either on the news or the money laundering. Now why is that?

I thought the first article was very cavelier, and the follow up today where he bashes PJF's cousin for daring to post a comment that contradicted him, was way over the line.

Samantha B was right, they want all of our younger men to back off for the mean old white men. when bushco falls perhaps they will understand their kind do not actually create reality, much as they would like to

A clear case of a fat old buck angry the younger buck has a better developed sense of everything...including humor heehee

I just saw the video of Gonzo's testimony today. All I can say is the DOJ has no Attorney General. Gonzo acted like all this was a joke and totally made a fool of himself. He didn't even know that he couldn't get an ok from Ashcroft as he was in recovery room and heavily medicated as Comey was at the time acting Attorney General. Gonzo didn't know he had to ask Comey. Now we just saw Bush have surgery as Cheney was acting President. There must be some big crimes committed for Gonzo to look and act so stupid.

God bless the good DOJ who is, like the rest of the goverment, on autopilot. The bad guys should be near the end of their run.

Yes, let's hope the hourglass is running out for Dick Cheney.

Something is puzzling me and I cannot remember where I read this. Did Dick Cheney say he worked as an assistant to Ted Kennedy's press secretary back in '69? Have any of you read something like this? I read that Cheney said Kennedy probably didn't even realize that he worked for him.

BTW, (by the way *haha) was Valerie Plame and her group looking for the WMDs in Iraq for the WH and State Dept., and when she said they could not find them...Valerie had to be punished?

Tom Roeser deals in stereotypes because he IS a stereotype -- an overweight, undereducated failure in a city that has to rely on outsiders to clean up its mass corruption. No wonder he can't begin to understand Fitz.

BTW, Fitz's cousin, every family should have a member who goes to bat for relatives who are unfairly criticized. Good for you.

Ithaca

When you set out for distant Ithaca,
fervently wish your journey may be long, —
full of adventures and with much to learn.
Of the Laestrygones and the Cyclopes,
of the angry god Poseidon, have no fear:
these you shall not encounter, if your thought
remains at all times lofty, — if select
emotion touches you in body and spirit.
Not the Laestrygones, not the Cyclopes,
nor yet the fierce Poseidon, shall you meet,
unless you carry them within your soul, —
unless your soul should raise them to confront you.

Fervently wish your journey may be long.
May they be numerous — the summer mornings
when, pleased and joyous, you will be anchoring
in harbours you have never seen before.
Stay at the populous Phoenician marts,
and make provision of good merchandise;
coral and mother of pearl; and ebony
and amber; and voluptuous perfumes
of every kind, in lavish quantity.
Sojourn in many a city of the Nile,
and from the learned learn and learn amain.

At every stage bear Ithaca in mind.
The arrival there is your appointed lot.
But hurry not the voyage in the least:
’twere better if you travelled many years
and reached your island home in your old age,
being rich in riches gathered on the way,
and not expecting more from Ithaca.

Ithaca gave you the delightful voyage:
without her you would never have set out:
and she has nothing else to give you now.

And though you should find her wanting, Ithaca
will not surprise you; for you will arrive
wise and experienced, having long since perceived
the unapparent sense in Ithacas.

Old tape revives speculation on bin Laden's fate

DUBAI (Reuters) - The release of an old video showing Osama bin Laden has revived speculation about the fate of the world's most wanted man who has not offered foes or followers any proof he is alive for more than a year.

Although some Taliban leaders have said the Saudi-born is alive and well, nothing has been heard from him since July 2006 when an audio message was posted on an Islamist Web site indicating that he was alive a few weeks before.

"“This is such a lovely place to work. Packs of sweating and desperate Republican Congressmen coming in and out, trying to talk to Bush and get him to at least make some kind of promise (of course never to be kept) about withdrawing or at least to stop snarling at people. Pointless. Bush is constantly in a rage here and yesterday, I had to deliver something to the West Wing. After I had dropped of my files and was heading back to my office, someone opened a door and I could hear, very clearly, Our Beloved President screaming with rage. He said, and I quote: “Goddamit! I said to quit bugging me about Iraq! I will never withdraw a single man from there and when I leave here for good, my successor can handle it.”

My associates say he has been shouting at everyone here about this and it is interesting to watch him. His eyes squinch shut, his mouth turns down and he shakes all over. And his face gets white as flour and all kinds of blotches can be seen on it. Not a nice sight and rather frightening considering who he is (and who he thinks he is) and what he can do, even with his nuts chopped off. The Democrats are pussy-futting around, enraging the electorate who elected them to stop the crazy Bush from further manic bloodshed. Recruitment has tanked, the Surge is a total flop, Republicans are hysterical with fear and about 30% of the staff has quit the Monkey Palace with more desertions planned. I still think the only thing to do is to impeach both Bush and Cheney but the Democrats are too frightened and too busy looking for more lobbyist money to be worth more than a pinch of sour owl shit.”"

“AP Reveals New Document Demonstrates 'Clear Case' Of Gonzales Perjury On Spying Program. Gonzales has Committed so Much Perjury Before Congress, He is Basically Mocking Them Because He Knows That He is a "Made Man," And Bush Will Protect His Consigliere, Just as He Protected Libby. Besides Gonzales is the Man Who Knows Too Much. He is Lying So Openly to Keep Bush and Cheney and Rove Out of Jail It is Not Just Contempt of Congress; It is Criminal Behavior and Obstruction of Justice.”
