The question about reasonable doubt is the more significant of two notes the jury sent to the judge when they ended deliberations for the week at 2 p.m. yesterday. The other note concerns the count that alleges that Libby obstructed the leak probe.

Jurors asked the judge how much of Libby's grand jury testimony they should consider when deciding whether he is guilty on that count

----------
Yes, how much? Hopefully all of it!

Whatever happens in the Libby case, it is expected in Washington lawyer circles to be the closing legal chapter in the criminal aspect of the Plame affair.
I know he's from Huffington, but did he and I read the same case? No way the end..Dick's next!

Another weekend, here already...

I really thought we were going to get a verdict day before yesterday I think it was ..... I guess the jury is having too much fun to bring it to an end.

This is off-topic, but interesting reading. And certainly relevant to the situation our country is in
right now.

These are excerpts from John Joseph Kennedy's platform. (He is running for President in '08.)

JJK 2008 PLATFORM – MY KEY ISSUES FOR 2008

NATIONAL SECURITY:

As the People's President this is my highest priority...America first! It's an inside job!

At the highest level on down I will see that those who are really responsible for the insidious acts of terrorism in our country, and around the world, be prosecuted to the fullest extent of all domestic and international laws.

They know who they are. I know who they are and so do most of you. Above all, God knows who they are and what they have done to our county in an unprecedented blood-thirst for power and greed as never before seen in this country. Acts of terrorism against innocent men, women and children in order to cover up their crimes of national thievery, money laundering, international drug smuggling, and much more. If I AM elected, they all will be held accountable - Republicans and Democrats - a murderer is a murderer!

This includes, but is not limited to those truly responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing, of which I was denied an opportunity to give my testimony to the second Grand Jury in 1997 which would have stopped some of the madness in this country, the first and second World Trade Center bombings, of which I was one of 100 notable Americans who signed the 911Truth.Org petition demanding an independent investigation into what really happened on that horrible and calculated day in American history, the political assassination/murder of my sister, Cecilia Madeline Kennedy in Bangkok, Thailand in 1997 after freeing many Americans falsely imprisoned in Thailand. And as recently revealed on CNN and throughout the world press this daunting and incriminating question: Why were Bill and Hillary Clinton's Secret Service stalking Princess Diana and bugging her cell phone the day she died?

He doesn't mince words, does he?

(I think I used that expression correctly...)

That is what I thought too about that piece, Prissy. Cheney is getting more outrageous. Bush is nuts. When it starts clicking for people, it is not something one can let go of easily. I wonder if that is what happened to these jurors? I still cannot believe HuffPo wrote that, but sometimes you do wonder about them.

Prissy, I was surprised about Gates , when he found out they installed that one General in charge of the hospital that criticized WaPo on their article on the hospital (brain fog on name, sorry this is what memory problems are, dammit)he got rid of him too immediately. It is a start. (Considering Gates' past.)

If the jurors do come back guilty, the naysayers and their evil mudslingers/haters will be criticizing the jury too. And Cheney didn't testify for his 'friend' and Little Irv didn't bother to defend himself.

Amen Teak... after seeing some of them testify-and reading what I read about the case-GUILTY would most certainly be the verdict.

I see all five counts are solid, maybe a pity vote to let him off of one. It's obvious the big dogs are making him take the fall and lil Irv's pop-up button is about to show he's done!

Dick didn't see any reason to make things worse for his own self and one true love. scooter is on his own-he should have realized that from the beginning-there is no honor amongst thieves.

when I worked in juvi the kids would sometimes steal from each other- I found it amusing that the ones in there for theft would whine the loudest when somebody would swipe their cornchips. I'd give them the ole "how does it feel when someone takes YOUR stuff..." (the mom guilt stuff worked there too;-) G'Night

You may find the following interesting, Stephanie.

Did Cheney Allow Or Order 9/11 Plane To Strike Pentagon?

Although the official 9/11 Commission Report(CR) said Vice President Richard Cheney did not arrive at the Presidential Emergency Operations Center(PEOC) under the White House until "shortly before 10 a.m." that tragic day, Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta testified when he arrived in the room at 9:20 a.m. Cheney was already there. (CR published no testimony from Mineta.)

Diana death: the people WILL decide
UK Daily Mail
Friday, March 2, 2007

Mohamed al Fayed won a sensational victory today to have Princess Diana's inquest heard before a jury. Twelve members of the public must decide the verdict on the 1997 deaths of Diana and Mr Fayed's son Dodi, the High Court ruled.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anthony's comment:
I wonder who'll reach a verdict first: the jury in the Libby trial or the one in the Diana and Dodi inquest.
Given that it's taken the authorities ten years to open an inquest into Diana's death, it seems that they're in no hurry either.
Weather in Chicago was, is, and still will be nasty yesterday and today. I hope Fitz did not plan on getting a flight back here on Friday.
PrissyPatriot--I was supposed to meet with a buddy of someone in Congress yesterday and I was going to bring up the antifreeze bill that Congress let expire but the nasty weather prevented that meeting from happening. In the meantime, I let some other buddies of mine who are dog people know about it.
Anon, as with the Kennedy assassination, there are a whole host of theories concerning who was behind Diana’s death and why.
The most popular theory here is that she was pregnant with Dodi’s child and the royal family did her in because they didn’t want the future heir to the throne to be the half brother of a Muslim.
Diana may also have had dirt to dish on the royals which could have affected the survival of the monarchy. The details can be found on this
website
.
Clearly, there was something deeply suspicious in the way that Her Maj suddenly remembered that she had indeed had a conversation with Diana’s butler, Paul Burrell, about Diana’s belongings towards the end of a very expensive trial in which Burrell was charged with theft.
I veer between thinking that the royal family are enormously powerful who can get away with anything and that they are prisoners of this institution we call the monarchy.
There are parallels between Diana’s death and the ousting of the (then) popular Edward VIII who had ruffled too many establishment feathers.
The Queen’s father, a well-meaning dullard who became king on Edward’s abdication, knew better and provided the establishment with the kind of king they wanted.
WASHINGTON - Sen. Pete Domenici and Rep. Heather Wilson of New Mexico pressured the U.S. attorney in their state to speed up indictments in a federal corruption investigation that involved at least one former Democratic state senator, according to two people familiar with the contacts.
The alleged involvement of the two Republican lawmakers raises questions about possible violations of House of Representatives and Senate ethics rules and could taint the criminal investigation into the award of an $82 million courthouse contract.
The two people with knowledge of the incident said Domenici and Wilson intervened in mid-October, when Wilson was in a competitive re-election campaign that she won by 875 votes out of nearly 211,000 cast.
One thing I have noted is that as it becomes clear that Diana's death was no accident and Dr David Kelley's suicide was not suicide, then patsy's have to be set up. Hence recent speculation in the press that Dodi was killed by business rivals (too bad Diana was involed) and that Dr Kelley was killed by Iraqis unhappy with his work on WMDs in Iraq.
On some legislation that does not yet exist . . . . There is a Project Safe Neighborhoods on guns. The pre-teen and young teen gangbangers all around about a 100-mile radius of where I live all seem to start out with knife fights first. These below 18-year-olds get a slap on the wrist, spend some time in juvy, and within a couple of years, a lot of these kids grow up and get guns and commit bigger and badder crimes. Anyone have any thoughts or have any knowledge about anything similar to Project Safe Neighborhoods but for knives?
