Full Disclosure..?

A Farce and an Outrage
What crime committed?

"Libby’s crime, according to Fitzgerald, is perjury and obstruction of justice. The grounds? People’s memories of who said what to whom more than three years ago differ. Good Lord, may I never be subject to a grand jury inquest as I forget appointments, names, faces, passwords, jokes, what I told my husband yesterday, and whether or not I paid the phone bill last month.

Where, I wonder, are all the folks who worry about attracting good people to government service? Libby gave up a lucrative private practice to serve his country and now may lose everything including his liberty for the trouble.

This trial is a farce and an outrage." —
Full disclosure: My husband is with the same law firm as Libby’s lawyer — a fact I discovered when I proposed that we contribute to Libby’s legal defense fund. <more>
I would have never guessed.

Hmmm..

Mona Charen is spreading the Libby love. Charen's husband is Bob Parker who is a lawyer with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP (where Wells is a partner at that firm). How ironic? Yup, Bryon York and Charen are spreading the Libby love in National Review and asking for handout for the Libby defense fund. Very desperate. I wonder if Libby contacted Shell for a donation. I heard that the executives are eating good night from their successful quarterly profits. I even thanked Shell at the gas pump tonight for sharing that profit love! Good night! Biloximan out!

I just hate it when they let Mona Charon out of her cage - they used to do that at the GOP rag - the Chicago Tribune - always right around election time.

You know they must have her on a leash - with someone to occassionally clean the froth and spittle off her mouth - poor thing - and probably to clean up after her other random messes as well . . .

I knew a loooooong time ago - this woman is insane ~~

Libby's doing just fine with his shares from the oil company. As an international lawyer and his White House connections and years of lining his pockets with the stolen money that his boss has been getting from the US Treasury. Libby isn't hurting for money. I you want to give to a good cause give to the homeless or children's charity it's needed more. Cheney has so much money he has no problem handling his friends legal fee. Mrs. Libby is a lawyer and able to get a good income. Now as for me I'll give to the Wilson's because they are the victims and Mrs. Wilson will be in danger for the rest of her life because the White House leaked her covert name.

Go Fitz! Anyone want to give odds on whether Darth Cheney takes the stand now? How about Scooter? What a great trap Fitz has laid. If either Darth or Scooter take the stand, Fitz is going to have a field day. My prediction: neither will testify in the criminal trial.

Why did he lie then? Why did he leak this information. If he was so smart, he should have known it was the wrong thing to do.

My eyes are rolling.

If you had ever been in front of a grand jury or given a deposition (I have), you'd know that it's perfectly acceptable to say "I can't remember," if you are unsure or can't remember. You don't make things up or speculate-- ever. Any attorney worth anything will counsel you against trying to fill in a faulty memory or speculating.

If your husband is really an attorney, he could tell you this as well. Heck, Libby is an attorney-- he could tell you this.

If you had read the indictment against Libby, you'd see that Fitzgerald pretty well lays out that Libby's story changed several times during his interviews. This isn't because he has a faulty memory-- it's because he blatantly lied to the special prosecutor and the grand jury.

Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Full Moon Friday! :)

Yes, anon @9:11, you are absolutely correct! Libby told so many lies and couldn't keep his stories straight. That is what happens when a person lies.. they can't keep track of their lies, so they tell it differently each time!

Some people still don't get it and they shouldn't write articles that prove their ignorance! They look foolish!

Let truth and justice prevail! :D

Mona Charen? You forgot to mention Israel and a neocon.

When is the U.S. going to change their foreign policy that has caused all this blow back and put their citizens first? Seems Israel owns the Congress still, does double cross the American people and is still doing it. Enough of this.

Don de drain

me thinks you are right...

if Cheney testifies, believe there would be a field day of sorts as
then Team Fitz would more than likely put the
Rove'r on the stand...

Cheney is just Darth Vadar in a diff suit ... he has sewn is own fate of with Delusion-filled dreams and a cast of characters that he may flush down the drain with himself-

As for the Rove'r, Darth and Scooter on the stand? Now -- that's prime time blogosphere
:)

Ms. Charen,

May I remind you it just a few years ago, you were all a-twitter regarding the infamous line given in a sworn deposition, "that depends on what the meaning of is, is."

Can you say two-faced? I thought you could.

Saint Brigid.

I just had to email Moan(a)
Ma'am,
You should call 911 immediately. You do not realize that you are overdosing on the CONS KOOLAID.
You are exhibiting all the symptoms and need help ASAP. They'll even give you a nice jacket to wear and a room with walls that won't hurt you when you bang your stupid head on them. Best of luck in your recovery.
