FYI: It recently came to my attention, after an aggressive barrage of SPAM in our comment section, that my "Desk" had become overrun by a cadre of Lyndon LaRoucher's (well intentioned fascists and "anti-Zionists"). I am aware that this is not an isolated case, however, as many other blogs and news sites on the Internet (i.e. Huffington Post, Alec Baldwin's blog) experience the same.
Many say it is a dangerous cult with a political agenda.
Personally, I do not believe a single thing Mr. LaRouche has ever espoused and feel that he brainwashes and exploits the weak-minded and mentally challenged with wild and outrageous disinformation until they do his bidding. *
Of course, you can do your own research using "the Google" (LaRouche's group has recently been in European news regarding a murder investigation) and draw your own conclusions, or follow links to their many publications and conspiracy theory blogs.
Now that you are aware of their agenda, tactics and presence on this blog, I will now return the comment section to the bastion of free speech it was intended to be - a microcosm of the love/hate relationship our country both enjoys and has to endure to truly be free.

Here's another thought about about ists and ics. Life happens in the moment of living the istness or ic(k)ness. Imagine standing in rush hour traffic, holding out a fistful of money, wearing a sign proclaiming your need to give and inviting people to take the money. Now there's a life experience that might transcend the ist of the self-proclaimed (raptur)ist. That person would likely be a more interesting person to talk with than a thetanized scientologist, just sayin'. (Perplexing question: Can the optimist remain an optimist after engaging in the act of killing the babies, as in remaining optimistic it is for the greater good? Was Hitler the ultimate optimist? hmmmm)
For aloon @11:03. I read your comment about wanting the truth, no matter what and it raised another question for me. What if we find that the truth does not correspond to our beliefs and preconceived notions about what it is? Do you believe that discerning the truth is a process of discovery? And is it possible that truth becomes more fluid and less static as we test it, interact with it, and adapt to it? Just some thoughts.

Chris Evens is a DJ who ruined his marriage with the luscious Billy Piper (Dr Who’s attractive assistant for those of you who watch the beeb) because of his drinking and who hung out with Paul Gasgoigne, former England soccer player who was recently made manager of the (semi-professional) Kettering Town Football Club and was sacked after a few weeks for spending too much time in the pub on the old piss. A sad case. We all wished him well in his new job but it wasn’t to be.
I always thought Chris Evans was just a twat who earned too much money for his own good, helped Gasgoigne's ruin, and blew his marriage to one of the most beautiful girls on TV.
Until last Saturday morning that is.
He appeared as star guest on the beeb’s Saturday Kitchen, and told James Martin, the host chef, that as he (James) couldn’t interview, and he (Chris) couldn’t cook, James could do the interviewing and he (Chris) could do the cooking.
While he was cooking, they showed a clip of the ginger one sharpening his kitchen knife on the rolled down window of James’ car.
Here’s what he did. He slowly passed the edge of the blade five times on each side along the edge of the window, like you do with that steel thingie my grandad used to use to sharpen his kitchen knives before carving.
The ginger one then took an apple, held the knife up, tossed the apple in the air, and split it in two with his knife, then repeated the process with an orange.
No need for steel. No need for stropping.
