Life is stranger than fiction:

"Loretta Nall, the Libertarian Party's write-in candidate for governor of Alabama, is campaigning on her cleavage and hoping that voters will eventually focus on her platform.

"It started out as a joke, but it blew up into something huge," said Nall, a 32-year-old with dyed blond hair.

Her campaign is offering T-shirts and marijuana stash boxes adorned with a photo of her with a plunging neckline and the words: "More of these boobs." Below that are pictures of other candidates for governor - including Republican incumbent Bob Riley and Democratic Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley - and the words: "And less of these boobs."

Googler-in-Chief
President Bush said he sometimes uses Google’s satellite mapping program to transport him back to his ranch in Crawford, Texas.

In a CNBC interview with Maria Bartiromo, Bush was asked a question on many of our minds: “I’m curious, have you ever Googled anybody? Do you use Google?”

According to CNBC’s unofficial transcript, he replied: “Occasionally. One of the things I’ve used on the Google is to pull up maps. It’s very interesting to see that. I forgot the name of the program, but you get the satellite and you can — like, I kind of like to look at the ranch on Google, reminds me of where I want to be sometimes. Yeah, I do it some.” He added: “I tend not to email or — not only tend not to email, I don’t email, because of the different record requests that can happen to a president. I don’t want to receive emails because, you know, there’s no telling what somebody’s email may — it would show up as, you know, a part of some kind of a story, and I wouldn’t be able to say, `Well, I didn’t read the email.’ `But I sent it to your address, how can you say you didn’t?’ So, in other words, I’m very cautious about emailing.”

Well, those "internets" are amazing, aren't they?

Remember that Phoenix New Times
article about the land deal that Rick Renzi was involved in?

Well we have learned that Renzi was wiretapped presumably by the FBI soliciting a bribe in exchange for introducing a bill for a landswap in Cochise County.

An AP reporter discovered that Renzi may be indicted for income tax fraud and a related charge to the bribery.

Renzi has been interviewed by the FBI.

The U.S. Attorney for Arizona Paul Charlton has decided not to indict Renzi until after the election. The prosecutor assigned to the case is Howard Sukenic. He along with the spokesman for the U.S. Attorneys office is refusing to comment.

The investigation has been concluded, they succeeded in getting a federal grand jury to indict him but are sitting on the indictment until after the election in order to keep the seat in Republican control.

There really is a Culture of Corruption, and it is making its way to the Judicial branch.

Good News Bloggers...

"Two weeks before the midterm elections, Republicans are losing the battle for independent voters, who now strongly favor Democrats on Iraq and other major issues facing the country and overwhelmingly prefer to see them take over the House in November, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

The new poll underscores how much of a drag the war threatens to be on Republican candidates in competitive races. With debate underway in Washington about possible course changes in Iraq, Americans cite the war as the most important issue in determining their vote next month more often than any other issue, and those who do favor Democrats over Republicans by 76 percent to 21 percent."

"We're on the verge of chaos, and the current plan is not working," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said in an Associated Press interview. U.S. and Iraqi officials should be held accountable for the lack of progress, said Graham, a Republican who is a frequent critic of the administration's policies.

Asked who in particular should be held accountable - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, perhaps, or the generals leading the war - Graham said: "All of them. It's their job to come up with a game plan" to end the violence.

Hasn't enough people paid the price for the insanity and illusions of these arrogant asses? Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Myers, Franks, Bremer, all their scum neocons past and present in the Pentagon and state dept.?

If democracy survives in the United States, years from now historians will try to fathom how a small cadre of such arrogant, bumbling fools – with no combat experience – managed to nearly drive this nation into the ground.

It is hard to imagine how we have arrived at a point where a triad of self-appointed "masters of the universe" could so ruinously mislead a nation and put the entire world order at risk.

At this point in time – except for the Stepford Kool-Aid drinkers – almost everyone realizes that Iraq is a deteriorating disaster. It was a mistaken misadventure that has costs thousands upon thousands of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars.

Meanwhile, the Republicans dare to run ads with Osama bin Laden – who Bush claimed to get dead or alive years ago, then claimed he didn’t think about him much, now implying again that he threatens America as much as Hitler did – to terrify the masses. Well, if Bush can’t get his man in five years, isn’t that a sign of Bush’s incompetence, rather than bin Laden’s prowess? more

Good Morning All,

About the Gitmo interrogations:
In extensive interviews with MSNBC.com, former leaders of the Defense Department’s Criminal Investigation Task Force said they repeatedly warned senior Pentagon officials beginning in early 2002 that the harsh interrogation techniques used by a separate intelligence team would not produce reliable information, could constitute war crimes, and would embarrass the nation when they became public knowledge.
------------------
How many people in authority must say "war crimes" until someone is charged?
Are they waiting until our allies drag them into the Hague? No we didn't sign onto ICC-but what does that have to do with violating Geneva?
Got Geneva? The new Army field manual is just as clear as the old one on this.

GEF, thank you for posting Olbermann's video! He is my new favorite news source... :)

Mr. Bush, this is the what–100th plot your people have revealed that turned out to be some nonsensical misunderstanding or the fabrications of somebody hoping to talk his way off a waterboard in Eastern Europe? If, Mr. President, this is the kind of crack work your new ad implies that only you, and not the Democrats, can do, you, sir, need to pull over and ask for directions. The real question, of course, Mr. Bush, is why did your Department of Homeland Security even release that information in the first place? It was never a serious threat. Even the first news accounts quoted a Homeland spokesman as admitting strong skepticism. The kind of strong skepticism which most government agencies address before telling the public, not afterwards.

So that leaves two options, Mr. President: the first option, you and your Department of Homeland Security don't have the slightest idea what you're doing here. Thus, contrary to your flip-flopping between saying, "we're safe" and saying, "but we're not safe enough", and contrary to the Vice President's swaggering pronouncements about the lack of another attack since 9/11, the last five years HAS been just an accident.

I almost fell off my chair laughing when he said this:

you, sir, need to pull over and ask for directions.

CLG Exclusive: Citizens For Legitimate Government can report today an exclusive story about the Total Information Awareness program (TIA), initiated by Admiral (retired) John Poindexter. CLG exclusive source tells us that a day after 9-11, Poindexter’s office of the TIA program was already established in the Pentagon. Says inside, unnamed source, Poindexter had the TIA program ready to roll out on 9/12/2001, the day after 9-11. Five days after 9-11, the TIA office was fully functional. Asked if that means the program was ready to rollout previous to 9/11, the source familiar with the program and privy to top-secret government contractors said, "of course."

And let's see...FEMA was in NYC on 9/10/01, correct?

Former Vice President Al Gore appeared in Berkeley on Monday to lend his celebrity and reputation as a crusader against global warming to a measure on California's Nov. 7 ballot that would tax oil companies to raise $4 billion for green energy projects.

``I'm here to change peoples' minds on the climate crisis and to support Prop 87,'' Gore called to a group of reporters after he emerged from the ``100 miles per gallon'' Toyota Prius that brought him to a noontime rally in a sun-drenched park behind Berkeley's City Hall.

His motorcade also included three motorcycles, two limousines and a Dodge Ram 1500 light duty truck.

Gore, flanked by signs proclaiming Yes on 87 and promoting the Web site of a Berkeley company that installs solar energy systems, spoke to hundreds of supporters who had passed between metal barriers and gathered in front of speakers pulsating rock and reggae music.

Organizers estimated the crowd at 3,000. Police at the scene had no estimate.

Oh, I did see the Gerbil's interview on CNBC! The Gerbil needs to google on how to serve as a compentent President than googling his own ranch. Cracked up about his response about email. Judge Orders Release of Abu Ghraib Child Rape Photos

“Today's historic ruling is a step toward ensuring that our government's leaders are held accountable for the abuse and torture that happened on their watch,” said ACLU Executive Director Anthony D. Romero. “The American public has a right to know what happened in American detention centers, and how our leaders let it occur."

"Basically what happened is that those women who were arrested with young boys/children in cases that have been recorded. The boys were sodomized with the cameras rolling. The worst about all of them is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking that your government has. They are in total terror it's going to come out."

If the government is too ashamed to show the pictures, then they should not condone torture or cover-up their own damn crimes. Millions of Americans and people around the world know the truth anyway...along with the truth hidden for many decades past. The people who condone torture, swagger and bully, snicker at the deaths of human beings should be held responsible.

"The problem here is that I and many other Americans feel that what Rosa Parks did is still incomplete."

GEF:

I agrre with you but only to an extent. Rosa Parks that layed the foundation of fighting for the freedoms in this country but these people are unsong heroes prior to Ms. Parks that laid the foundation. They are not part of the history books but they have shapes the lives of others. Ms. Parks is one person in 1955 that stood for something. But, she doesn't represent all. Ms. Parks has left a path for people to carry on fighting for rights. She layed that foundation.

One person that comes to mind that I don't think anyone on this blog remembers this person but I do. Vernon Johns. Vernon Johns was an minister, and inspirational civil rights leader. He worked tirelessly in the struggle for Civil Rights for African American's since the 1920's. He was Martin Luther King, Jr.'s predecessor as pastor at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, and a mentor of Ralph Abernathy, Wyatt Walker, and a host of others in the Southern Christian Leadership Conference's circle. He laid the foundation on which King and others would build. GEF, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was not the pioneer of equality. It was Vernon John first. But, Mr. Johns didn't do what King did: non-violence. Mr. Johns was above his time. People at that time was not ready or embrace Mr. Johns' philosophy.

But, the problem is many people are not following that blueprint that Ms. Parks created and move that to the next level. The struggle for equality and rights is a everyday struggle and not just simply for a particular event. And as Ben Franklin said: there can be no personal freedoms until we have have economic freedom. But, I believe that the Gen Y generations and people like Obama will move this country to the next level because the Administration has set this country back in values big time.

"I'm a bit uneasy with the current state of unchallenged power in the WH."

And yes, it is uneasy about the WH. But, I am sure that people like Ms. Parks, Mr. Johns, and Mr. King has challenges in their time. But, you have a choice: do you cave in to the bullyness of the WH or do you stand up and fight? Choice of yours.

Rosa Parks' mission needs to be taken to the level as well as other people that fought for civil rights such as King, Johns, and other prior to them. But, I think today people have taken for granted their rights. Once Ms. Parks laid that foundation of standing up, people have forgotten that a struggle for equality and rights is a lifetime commitment and having a voice to stand up is a lifetime commitment.

The Pedophile Foley Investigation has a GOP insider with a BIG conflict of Interest with Hastert!!

Worries Persist over Fairness of House Foley Probe
By Justin Rood - October 23, 2006, 4:58 PM

A close review of the ties connecting House Speaker Dennis Hastert to the GOP lawmakers overseeing the House probe into his handling of the Foley scandal helps explain why no fewer than seven public interest groups have called for the matter to be turned over to an impartial outside counsel.

When the scandal erupted earlier this month, the ten-member House ethics committee created a special four-member panel to investigate the matter, ignoring calls to use an impartial outsider. That investigatory panel is led by the top Republican and Democrat on the committee, Reps. Doc Hastings (R-WA) and Howard Berman (D-CA); joining them are Reps. Stephanie Tubbs-Jones (D-OH) and Judy Biggert (R-IL).

But oh, the conflicts. House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) is so close to Hastings, the top Republican, he's rumored to have put Doc's name on a secret "succession list" to take his place in case of a catastrophe.

GEF:

You and I can't answer for King because he is deceased and we are talkng about a different mindset in King's time versus this time. You can ask the same queatiin to Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, Vernon Johns, and others. And I still believe that King will still fights. As many times that King went to jail, he had a dream, GEF? I will ask you this question. Are you willing to sacrifice what King did in his time and go to jail for the name of civil rights? And another question: would you GEF want to be in Fitz's shoes risking his career and reputation to bring down a corrupted Administration? O am sure Malcolm X was too thilled when he and family were threatened and their home being burned but both Malcolm X and his wife Betty still perservere and still continue to fight. Going up against the Getbil and company is not easy. But, if you cave in to the Gerbil's bullyness, nothing will ever change in this country. So, whether the Gerbil polluted this country, I still love my country no matter what. And the few people in this country will separate themselves from the mass and fight.

Active-Duty Troops Launch Campaign to Press Congress to End U.S. Occupation of Iraq

65 Members to Send "Appeals for Redress" Under the Military Whistle-blower Protection Act

For the first time since the U.S. invasion of Iraq, active- duty members of the military are asking Members of Congress to end the U.S. occupation of Iraq and bring American soldiers home.
Sixty-five active-duty members have sent Appeals for Redress to Members of Congress. Three of these people (including two who served in Iraq) and their attorney will speak about this on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. EDT.
Under the Military Whistle-Blower Protection Act (DOD directive 7050.6), active-duty military, National Guard and Reservists can file and send a protected communication to a Member of Congress regarding any subject without reprisal.

Sean Hannity's Gay Dating Website

Yes, it's true. Sean Hannity has a website for conservative minded folks to date each other. It is called HANNIDATE. Gays are meeting each other there and (gulp) having sex. All this gay sex is thanks to Sean Hannity. HANNIDATE is the web version of Sean's popular dating segment he does on his conservative talk radio show. It turns out that Sean is not as conservative as everyone thinks. He might be against gay marriage, but he's not above lending a helping hand for gays to have out-of-wedlock one-night stands. (I consider this helping hand a reach-around) This makes Sean Hannity the most gay-friendly FOX NEWS host in the world. In fact this may make him a social liberal, far from a Values Driven Christian Conservative.

This was too funny! LMAO!

I have come to bring the final ultimatum, now. Ye Brood of Vipers, I had such patience with you to amend your ways. The time has run out, now this is the day of accountability. Your days are ended for you to sow discord and violence. You will all be wiped out of the history of this planet, Earth. You can run and hide, no matter. We will find each and every one of you.
This will be short and sweet for me to incarcerate you away from Earth all together. I am not alone, there is lots of help. It is a day of rejoicing for Mother Gaia, what was your Earth. It is the day of freedom for all the people you have subdued by your tyrannical powers used upon them. You will now pay off your debts until you have paid for all the crimes you have committed to your fellow travelers on Planet Earth.
[...]
"This message through Sally is real. My patience, my offers, my trust have reached the end. (To the Illuminati) Your continued attempt at economic, biological, military, and nuclear perfidy upon your own citizens as well as the citizens of other sovereign countries and indeed the planet itself is ended. There have been YEARS of meetings and very empty promises, and no progress on agreements made.
"I have a timetable of which you are a very small part; your timetable for your plans is hereby negated. You are off the stage. Scramble though they may, your minions will not be able to hide your dislocation. And they will be next. I cannot say it more simply or more strongly - TIME‘S UP!"
Christ Michael, Creator Son of Nebadon

P.S.
R: In Sally‘s message, do you mean today 23 October 2006, or a generic day?
CM: It has already started this very day, 23 October 2006, and will continue enough days till these people are no longer a cancer upon the well-being of Mother Gaia. It may take some days to become visible, depending on the ability of the media to cover up. This, I assure you, will not be very good, and will soon be overwhelmed in any case.
R: Thank you for this.
CM: You‘re welcome. Please send it to Milson to be publicized.

General Casey also said that bringing peace to the capital was ultimately beyond the military’s control. “I think it’s important for all of us to understand that we’re not going to have total security here in Baghdad until the major political issues that are dividing the country are resolved,” he said. “The political leaders understand that. And they’re wrestling with that part of it.”

U.S. farmers and you. The good kind of farmers that care what you put on your families' table and what your kids' eat. They are a dying breed. Who deserves the 'thanks' for that?

Maybe someone wanted to buy up their land when they bankrupt, put up a huntin' lodge? They just shoot the damn prey anyway, don't they or give them to the 'poor folk'. They sure don't want to feed you, they want to poison you and the ground water. The livestock eat the grain, drink the ground water and you eat the meat. Think about it, you should care.

Hmmmm. I did some research into Foley. And it is what the GOP didn't to tell the public. Foley is of course a pervert but Mark Foley is a closeted gay and Mr. Foley did have a partner. Here is what the MSM haven't told the public:

Foley has been in a long-term relationship with a dermatologist, Dr. Layne Nisenbaum

And who is Dr. Layne Nisenbaum?

Finance writer Andrew Tobias of Miami, who is gay and treasurer of the Democratic National Committee said:

``As somebody who has met Mark Foley personally and has mutual friends, I am sad for Mark and I hope he doesn't go to jail. The last time I saw Mark, he was 19 years into a relationship. That was sad that it had to be hidden.

Single or partnered? I was at the same social gathering as Tobias three years ago, a South Beach birthday party. A friend introduced me to a couple at the party, Mark Foley and Layne Nisenbaum. Foley told me that he and Layne had been partners for 19 years. A few months later, New Times Broward-Palm Beach reported that The Advocate, a gay newsmagazine, had outed Foley in 1996 after he voted for the Defense of Marriage Act.

http://gaysouthflorida.blogspot.com/2006/10/mark-foley-single-or-partnered.html

And this tells you how much the corrupted Republican party are hypocrites.. They were only interesting Foley for the Gerbil's hidden agenda. And I wonder what Foley's partner thinks about Foley preying on underage pages.

Roll Call updates Campaign 2006 scandal checklist two weeks before elections

"Nine days later, then-Rep. Mark Foley (R-Fla.) resigned following revelations that he had sent sexually explicit instant messages to Congressional pages — a demise too fast to make this checklist," Jacobson writes. "But that was only the beginning."

Roll Call notes that "the growing threat of a Democratic wave, accelerated by the emergence of the Foley scandal, has increased the vulnerability of several Republicans who were already on the list."

Only four incumbent lawmakers running for reelection rate "high" on the risk factor: Rep. Don Sherwood (R-Pa.), Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.), Rep. Curt Weldon (R-Pa.), and Sen. Conrad Burns (R-Mont.).

And Bil Biloxi was arrested and released last night for indecent exposure..

I don't think Pelosi is thinking this through either because gerbil AND ambien both come as a package deal in Impeachment. They're both in it deep.

However, to just investigate the gerbil admin's crimes and not prosecute them, if found guilty, is like having a Columbine-style shooting and then finding those responsible guilty in court but no sentencing is carried out. So they just show up at school the next day as if nothing happened....

Re: Impeachment.

Pelosi said there wasn't time.

I disagree. First of all the evidence is all there. Just ask mass media for their past video clips..

Secondly, gerbil has 2 years left and we could do it in about 3-6 months depending how much squirming their lawyers do after all the evidence is presented. The Iraq issue will be the easiest one to prosecute. The others will unravel as the evidence is presented.

Thirdly, I think there is clear majority consensus in the American people now for Impeachment to take place.

Finally, There is clear proof that the gerbil administration has indeed subverted his oath of office to Protect and Defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.

Heck just NAFTA and CAFTA proves that in a pinch.

With all the evidence presented in a court of law it could be proven that the gerbil administration are indeed responsible for Treason against the United States of America and our Constitution.

..and I'm sure the Prosecutor(s) would have their pick of millions of witnesses...

The same administration that many claim sent US troops overseas without sufficient intelligence, planning, numbers, or armor is equally unprepared to deal with the wars' psychic toll on service members, RAW STORY has learned.

A former commander-in-chief describes today's overextended, under-equipped military as nearing the "breaking point."

Anyone that didn't believe in that Mike Vreeland's story, this stuck out to me. He said that he took a lot of medicine, klonopin (spelled wrong?). It made him hyper. It is when they took it away from him that it made him mean and he would do anything. I used to take half tab of that junk for cramping of my muscles at night, I hated that stuff. Speaking publicly for the first time, senior U.S. law enforcement investigators say they waged a long but futile battle inside the Pentagon to stop coercive and degrading treatment of detainees by intelligence interrogators at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Their account indicates that the struggle over U.S. interrogation techniques began much earlier than previously known, with separate teams of law enforcement and intelligence interrogators battling over the best way to accomplish two missions: prevent future attacks and punish the terrorists.

Rawstory bottom part

President Bush has said repeatedly that the detentions at Guantanamo were intended not only to secure intelligence information to prevent al-Qaida attacks, but also to "bring to justice" the terrorists.

Is this his kind of justice?
