Jack Sylvia, a Boston-based attorney with the firm of Mintz Levin, said Skilling is facing a longer sentence that could send him away for life. Lay's death and the reduced sentence former Enron chief financial officer Andrew Fastow got last month might be factors in Skilling's sentence, he said.
“The reality is when dealing with somebody who is middle-aged, a sentence of even 20 years can more often than not be a life sentence,” he said.
Some say that's a tough break, but as the head of the Enron Task Force...I say enjoy...BAM!
UPDATE: 24 years and 4 months for Skilling. Justice has been served. Next!

What a twist of life as Skilling goes to jail and the friend of Bush is listed dead. Now I bet Skilling wishes Bush/friends were his friends too. Most likely attention will be paid for Skilling to pay the full price for crimes that Enron did. If only he had some information that could reduce his sentence. It's all about who you hang around with. Look at Jack Abramoff letting the FBI know all those diry little secrets on the big guys.

Another Disastrous Coverup
Late on the evening of October 10, 2006, Iraqi resistance groups lobbed mortar and rocket rounds into the immense ‘Forward Base Falcon,’ the largest American military base in Iraq, located 13 km south of the Green Zone in Baghdad. In addition to accurate mortar fire, Grad and Katyusha rockets were also used.
Falcon base was designed to house a large contingent of American troops, mostly drawn from the 4th Infantry Division, stationed at Fr. Bliss, Texas. At the time of the attack, there were approximately 3000 men inside the camp, which also was filled with ammunition supplies, fuel, tanks and vehicles.
Over 300 American troops, including U.S. Army and Marines, CIA agents and U.S. translators were casualties and there also were 165 seriously injured requiring major medical attention and 39 suffering lesser injuries 122 members of the Iraqi armed forces were killed and 90 seriously injured members of same, were also evacuated to the U.S. military hospital at al-Habbaniyah located some 70km west of Baghdad.

Thanks Dream Soldier, I am not surprised. It would not be the first time that they lied about the dead in Iraq. That started back in 2003. They disgrace the living and the dead of our troops. And every innocent Iraqi that has died in this evil war.
Are the WTC '93, Oklahoma City bombing, and 9/11 connected? It took months to find out what the hell certain names (thanks, whistle blowers) had in common but I finally stumbled upon it. Sadly, the results destroys hope, and makes the red flags waving all along that much brighter.
Any citizen would be a fool not to research for themselves to find out what actually happened in their country or the world. Plus, the people involved in the cover-up, the planning, the set-up. Wonder if they thought the body of baby Bailey in the fire-fighter's arms was a great photo op? They shame themselves, their country, and the world.

This Alex Jones has perhaps realized he has now crossed more into a mainstream limelight, is reaching more and more people and that the "in your face" approach may not win everyone over.
Michael McWhirter's slick visual effects complement the material expertly and professionally, emphasizing that the dystopian futuristic political climate is not a distant possibility, but has already arrived on our doorsteps in the form of governments that use fear to manipulate their populations.
Jones this time opts for a more contemporary soundtrack which again places the film within its bang up to date context and will ensure an appeal among a new younger audience as well as those already familiar with his work.
The film concludes strongly and positively by offering viable solutions on how we can reclaim human dignity and freedom and prevent the global population from becoming the slaves of a prison planet.
Alex Jones has once again raised the bar as far as the subject matter in hand goes. Terrorstorm will appeal to everyone who has an interest in modern day politics and the war on terror, but chooses to search for the truth and not just a one sided explanation of major events.

An important story that broke over the weekend and may not have been widely picked up was that another former US Intelligence insider has turned whistleblower and concedes that the 9/11 attacks represented a "Neoconservative Neo-Nazi Coup D'etat".
In a review of Webster Tarpley's 9/11 Synthetic Terror: Made in USA, for Amazon, Steele contends that the book is the "strongest of the 770+ books I have reviewed"
Steele goes on:

Steele's biography is impressive. He was the second-ranking civilian (GS-14) in U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence from 1988-1992. Steele is a former clandestine services case officer for the Central Intelligence Agency.
He is the founder and president of Open Source Solutions, Inc., and is an acknowledged expert on computer and information vulnerabilities. Steele holds graduate degrees in International Relations and Public Administration from Leigh University and the University of Oklahoma. He has also earned certificates in Intelligence Policy from Harvard University and in Defense Studies from the Naval War College.
This is another example of how far the 9/11 truth movement has come over the past year. Before the 2004 election Steele advocated the re-election of George W Bush. Given what he knows now I don't think that would still be the case.
Last month we highlighted how Bill Christison, a A 28-year CIA career man, former National Intelligence Officer and the Director of the CIA's Office of Regional and Political Analysis had gone public to say 9/11 was an inside job.
Along with 16 year CIA veteran Ray McGovern, this trio have a combined total of over 65 years in intelligence. it's safe to say they know a covert op when they see one.
Over the past couple of years we have seen a deluge of former government and intelligence agency insiders to boldly go public with their doubts about the official story behind 9/11. This is very encouraging and sets the precedent for future whistleblowers who might be considering the same course of action.

I agree and I think 30 years would have been more like it! However, Skilling is 52 yrs old now...so he will be 76 and have spent almost 1/3 of his life behind bars! LOL
Also, he owes $$$...

Skilling Snetenced To 24 Years
Hello folks!
I just heard about Skilling's sentence. It is a harsh sentence but justice is served. However, I am sure the investors, employees, the state of California, and others would want Skilling to have more prison time. IMHO, Skilling should have plea bargained with the government from the get-go. Skilling would have wish that he had Andrew Fastow's prison time. Fastow plea bargained with the gov't in exchange for testimony. Fastow would have served 10 years. Right now, with good behavior and reduction of his sentence, Fastow will serve only 4 years in prison. Fastow will most likely be out in 2 years or maybe less than that. In a nutshell, justice is served for Skilling but not with Lay since there is speculation that Lay faked his death and his charges were erased. No matter what sentence that each of the players in Enron gotten, it will never take away the pain of that the Enron and the major players had done.
Correction: Fastow is serving 6 years not 4 years. But then again, Fastow will still try to get his time reduced.

Paula Rieker No. 2 of investor relations, then corporate secretary Guilty Faced up to 10 years in prison, but was sentenced to just two years probation for insider trading.

We were trounced and still are in the media as crazy "conspiracy nuts" but the questions are so pointed and the facts are the facts, they can't be spun away.
