No need for you to miss a minute of the agonizing holocaust. Yeah!

So don't wait up for me.
But though I may roam,

Although it may be

Yep, Shuug is incompetent. So is Rumpelt and he's still there..

I think American Citizens have a "Lowered Expectations" when it comes to their government.

This should not be the case. Govt Positions should require written and psychological tests to see if they qualify for key positions and only the best of the best need apply.

It should NOT be a case for having to voting for the best-of-two bad candidates..

It should be a case for having to voting for two excellent candidates who took exams and did so and so..

How did things get all wacked out in this country is because of laziness.

The American Citizen needs to be more involved with Government and not leave it up to others to do the right thing.

This was the initial error that must be corrected!

I agree but most importantly, people need to be more educated than entertained. I really believe that. Yes, the government but their own country. GEF, you ask people how many of them sing and know the lyrics of God Bless of America or the Star Bangled Banner? I can't tell you how many times that I sing both songs in a year. How many people appreciate the freedoms in this country? Alot people don't appreciate the freedoms that were have in this country until it is taken away. And that is what the Gerbil has been doing to the American people for five years. The Gerbil has taken away the freedoms and the American dream. As Ben Franklin said: there will be no personal freedom until you have economic freedom. The Gerbil give a real good talk about the American dream when kids can't go to college or a person can't buy a new home.

Feds crack down on bankruptcy fraud; 12 charged in Illinois

By MIKE ROBINSON
AP Legal Affairs Writer
Published October 18, 2006, 3:42 PM CDT

CHICAGO -- A dozen Chicago-area individuals have been charged in a nationwide crackdown on bankruptcy fraud and so-called home-rescue plans preying on homeowners facing foreclosure, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

Prosecutors said homeowners unable to meet their mortgage payments have been turning to elaborate schemes based on bankruptcy laws but have ended up swindled not only out of their homes but the equity as well.

"This is the new face of bankruptcy fraud," said David Glockner, criminal chief of the U.S. attorney's office for northern Illinois.

Those accused were among 78 defendants charged nationwide in a crackdown federal prosecutors dubbed Operation Truth or Consequences.

The Chicago-area cases were unrelated to each other but were announced in one batch to achieve maximum impact as the Justice Department served notice that it plans to prosecute people who engage in bankruptcy fraud.

Glockner said most of the cases were similar to ones prosecutors have brought in the past -- people lying to hide assets from bankruptcy courts.

But he said the new wrinkle was the use of bankruptcy fraud in home-rescue schemes marketed to people desperate to hang onto their homes.

Under these schemes, homeowners facing foreclosure sell their homes to "investors," prosecutors said. They said the former homeowners then pay rent to the investors with the promise that they can get back both the homes and built-up equity when their finances are healthier.

Prosecutors said crooked attorneys then declare bankruptcy on behalf of the former homeowners, illegally hiding the sale from the bankruptcy court, paying off the mortgage and pocketing the equity.

The former homeowners then are allowed to buy back the property at full price if they can afford to do so.

"There's an endless number of ways to separate people from their money and many of these schemes involve real estate," Glockner said.

One case he pointed to was that of bankruptcy attorney Edward J. Varga, 47, of Aurora and Charlotte M. Schuett, 46, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz. They were charged Wednesday in an eight-count indictment with bankruptcy fraud, mail fraud and falsifying documents in bankruptcy cases.

Schuett and Varga were accused in the indictment of swindling property owners and others out of $500,000. The names of their attorneys were not learned.

A receptionist at Varga's office said he was in Mexico. A Charlotte Schuett was not listed in Lake Havasu City.

Bankruptcy attorney Norton Helton, 45, of Chicago was charged with bankruptcy fraud. Prosecutors said home owners sold their property to investors and Helton concealed the sales to keep $400,000 in proceeds.

His attorney, Lewis Myers, said "we are going to plead not guilty to the charges, we are going to fight them and we think he'll be vindicated."

Attorney Lori Westerfield, 41, of Chicago was indicted on three counts of filing false documents in bankruptcy cases. Glockner said she purchased a home from a client for $153,000 but did not disclose the sale on a bankruptcy petition. A message was left at Westerfield's law office.

Prosecutors said nine lawyers were among the 78 defendants charged nationwide and five of those attorneys were based in the Chicago area.

Chicago lawyers charged in bankruptcy fraud probe
(Crain’s) — Three Chicago lawyers and a disbarred one have been accused of bilking clients out of the equity in their homes and lying in court in a nationwide federal crackdown on bankruptcy fraud.

Norton Helton of Chicago, Edward J. Varga of Aurora and Lorie K. Westerfield of Chicago along with disbarred lawyer William Ramon Jackson of Chicago were charged in separate cases Tuesday in U.S. District Court as part of Operation Truth or Consequences.

They were among 11 defendants charged in Chicago. A total of 78 defendants were charged across the nation.

“It is important to protect the integrity of the bankruptcy system and those who use it,” David Glockner, criminal chief for the U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago, said at a news conference Wednesday.

Messrs. Varga and Jackson and Ms. Westerfield could not be reached for comment.

Mr. Helton’s lawyer, Lewis Myers, said "we are going to plead not guilty to the charges, we are going to fight them and we think he'll be vindicated."

Messrs. Helton and Varga were accused of running sale-and-leaseback programs for financially strapped homeowners that federal authorities claim were schemes that allowed the bankruptcy lawyers to strip and keep the equity from their clients’ homes.

Mr. Helton, who was charged with bankruptcy fraud, allegedly concealed $400,000 in clients’ home sale proceeds from Bankruptcy Court while Mr. Varga, working with a woman who also was charged, allegedly defrauded clients, creditors and trustees of roughly $500,000, according to the complaint against him. Mr. Varga was charged with eight counts of bankruptcy fraud, mail fraud and falsifying documents in bankruptcy cases.

Mr. Jackson was charged with three counts of bankruptcy fraud, illegally receiving bankruptcy estate property and converting bankruptcy estate property to himself. The federal indictment against him alleges he lied to bankruptcy court regarding $28,000 in fees he was ordered to turn over to the bankruptcy trustee.

Ms. Westerfield was charged with three counts of allegedly filing false bankruptcy documents for omitting information from a client’s personal bankruptcy filing.

“Bankruptcy regulations were set up to protect individuals who find themselves in financial straits,” said Kenneth Laag, inspector in charge of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in Chicago. “Some individuals who find themselves in that state turned to bankruptcy attorneys who milked them.”

Seven Chicago-area individuals were also charged with making false statements or concealing assets in their own personal bankruptcy case.

A fifth lawyer, from Delavan, Wis., was charged with fraud, making false statements and concealing from clients his impending suspension from practicing law.

Baker, who was secretary of state for the president's father, heads the Iraq Study Group, a bipartisan commission that since March has been researching and preparing ideas for changing course in Iraq.

The plan will not be unveiled until weeks after the November 7 congressional elections, in which Bush's Republicans risk losing control of Congress largely because of deep popular concern over Iraq.

Just look at that...Gerbil has had things handed to him, bought off, paid off, stolen, fixed, cheated so he could win, bailed out, what else?

MADISON, Wis. - Republicans obtained a copy of strategic campaign plans for Senate Democrats four months ago and released them Wednesday as they accused their rivals of illegal campaigning.

Republicans said a Capitol aide discovered the State Senate Democratic Committee's playbook on a copy machine in the Capitol in June. But Democrats said the documents were apparently stolen from a state Sen.'s personal belongings.

Seems like Americans' personal info stored on government employees, agencies, whatever...that never seems to get solved.

Like the a small child who doesn't understand, "what we want, we take".

Every politician should watch "Nightline", they are showing how bad things are in Iraq hospitals. Something everyone should be ashamed of---our nation started this insanity.

"We're going Nuclear and there's no stopping it.."
GEF - I'd be surprised if the rest of the UNIVERSE would allow us to go nuclear! I happen to think that we are not the only ones in the universe and we cannot pollute more than we already have done.

Strike the fear of God in people among other tricks of the trade. Create chaos, control the information, be secretive of your own evil doings. Make lots of money while you manipulate.

Seems to be working well for the elite.

Joel Rosenberg's Twin Cities Carry course will enable you to get hour Minnesota carry permit, and others, allowing you to carry handgun for personal protection in as many as 34 states...without having to leave Minnesota to apply.

Are we living in the last days? A new book by Middle East expert Joel Rosenberg examines why world leaders are talking in increasingly apocalyptic language and why tens of millions of Americans believe the end of history as we know it may be near. In an exclusive national survey for Joel Rosenberg's new book, 1,000 randomly selected adults were asked two questions: 1. Are we living in the last lays? and 2. Is Israel a prophecy coming true? Find out what they had to say..

Very interesting, wonder if it is the same person? Why would such Christians promote guns so much? Do they all get off nuclear wars? Sounds rather hinky.

Keeping Iraq's Oil In the Ground

Did the U.S. invade Iraq to tap its oil reserves or to make sure they stayed under the sand?

And they won't be drilled, not unless Iraq says, "Mother, may I?" to Saudi Arabia, or, as the James Baker/Council on Foreign Relations paper says, "Saudi Arabia may punish Iraq." And believe me, Iraq wouldn't want that.

The ‘terror plot’ that didn’t fit

We’re only interested in the sort of terrorism that suits our paranoia, says matthew carr

In the early 1980s, Margaret Thatcher imposed a media ban on Sinn Fein and the IRA on the grounds that terrorists should be deprived the 'oxygen of publicity'.

Governments and terrorist experts have often depicted a symbiotic relationship between terrorists and the media, in which the former supposedly depend on the latter to broadcast 'messages' in the form of bombings, assassinations and atrocities.

But the public perception of terrorism is often shaped by selective media coverage, which concentrates exclusively on a particular version of 'terrorism', while ignoring incidents that fall outside this framework. more and more

Very interesting indeed.

"..let us pray that Japan turns this token down...(see Iraq)"

They and Taiwan exist only because of the help and protection of allies like the US, past, present and hopefully future.

Esentially you kicked dirt in the face all US service people including Jackies daughter.

When Bush brings the draft back (lol) may the mighty warrior Krispy Kremes be the first shipped off to Paris Island and then the Korea-Japan War. lmao.

Are we going nuclear before or after the FEMA camps are filled with millions? Do you think a second contrived 911 added to that will be a little too much for all and cause a major revolution led by Lyndon LaRouche? Don't you feel time is getting a little tight for an Iran invasion before the elections that will have us vote Republican in fear?

Don't forget to hug your local crazed North Korean today. If you can't find one send flowers to Chavez instead or at least a get well card to Fidel.

...a household applicance, called television, reliquished it's place for a pc - in a last ditch attempt to protect myself from the propagandistical, conditioning, and indoctrinizing effects of MSM.

Nevertheless, I am recommending the viewing of HBO's Premier 'Hacking Democracy' Just Prior to the November Election ... it breaks down the complex issues of voting machines and hacking into a story.

As far as the absent of television goes...I describe this as the "The Birdman of Alcatraz" effect...despite the fact that Robert Stroud had never seen a airplane - except once, his knowledge of it approached that of an aeronautical construction engineer.

My next posting will be about what I call the "Dream Team" - Andrew C. McCarthy, John C. Yoo, and David S. Addington - (obviously ironical) - a hard-core, no-pull-the-punches observation...

Please reconsider and post your expertise on the coming FEMA incarcerations into Halliburton concentration camps for Liberals.

May I be so bold to suggest a collaboration with Rogert Rancourt in this endeavor?

The academic world holds it's breath in anticipation.

No, no. Those camps are for the angry and wild Bushies, who will not be able to accept their leaders downfall...so don't get your hopes up that libs will end up there.

Libs aren't typically the violent ones-but if GOP steals another election, that claim may be null and void.

McCain is crazy- go ahead, fall on your sword, old boy. He is someone who has grossly misused his "victim" status, as a free pass. He's used up all my sympathy with his last remark-that and saying "the public is schizophrenic about Iraq...this, from the sicko willing to sacrifice his own son's life for this war, just to save face.
Yes, I'm sure McCain jr won't be in the front-but if he's like the old man, perhaps he should be.
Europe is looking better and better everyday...
