Loosen Your Drag...

History will absolve Wayne Madsen and other hard charging journalists, but for now I have caught the smaller fish and am using him to catch a real lunker - if I strike too soon the hook won't set.

Remember, a fish rots from the head and Official "A" stands for a**.

SPB and ALL:

I also just got a nice note from Jason Leopold.

The fact is, we don't have an answer - ANY answer - yet from the GJ. That does NOT mean there is no Bill of Indictment. There may be one and it remains sealed. It may be sealed and legal negotiations may be happening.

We don't know this, but it doesn't mean that nothing is happening.

I think we are all wanting this to happen so badly that we're anxious to rush this process. But if rushing could cause some error, or allow someone to slip the noose, I'm all for Fitz and his team to take their time!

The waiting is hard, but I still believe in the legal system and the grand jury process.

If Rove's Attorney, Luskin, is now a "subject" in this investigation, (as previously stated in a post on this blog), this may have caused a delay, due to Luskin possibly being replaced.

Just a thought...

Basheert, I believe in the legal system too. But there is more than one law on the books to put these characters out of our misery.

The laws Fitz is using to prosecute is Plan A-if the henchmen fail to submit to the law, that leaves us with Plan B. An ugly, messy option-sure to cause chaos, but an option (and lawful one at that) all the same.

At this point, as long as removal is THE ultimate goal and it is a lawful removal-I am all for it.

I just hope the removal doesn't come first, while the trial to prove the lawfulness of "an action" the latter.

WMR was also told by a credible source that part of the reason for Fitzgerald's visit to Patton and Boggs was to inform Rove attorney Luskin that he has moved into the category of a "subject" of the special prosecutor's investigation as a result of a conversation with Time reporter Viveca Novak, in which Novak told Luskin that Rove was a source for Time's Matt Cooper. The special prosecutor, who has prosecuted one defense attorney in the Hollinger case, is reportedly investigating whether Luskin, as an officer of the court, may have violated laws on obstruction of justice.

Well said, 6 miles.

Bush, Cheney, Rove, Scooter, and so on.... are either narcissists or BDPs, probably both....best to think OPPOSITE of everything they do and say. Rove is the like the young Bush doing his 'slap happy' routine for Babs Bush in his younger years trying to keep Momma happy when Poppy was galloping around the globe.

Dig and find the real Rove, people don't fear this bastard for no reason. That is the true Rove...it is not for 'public' eyes.

I am confused by all of this about the indictments. Starting with Truthout.org and carrying over to here it appears that no one knows what they are talking about with any certainty. All of these rationales for why things may be delayed goes without saying even if nothing had been announced anywhere so I am not sure what benefit these blogs have other than giving people unnecessary false hope.

Also, why the necessity to "rush to press" on a story that if it unfolds the way people hope will be with us for years and will have significant impact across all media?

I also have some problem with faux blogs as to what purpose they serve. It seems a weak way to gather meaningful focus on a very important subject. If it is just to get likeminded people together to have a place to meet and chat that could be done without the deception. Can someone explain the significance to me? I am not slamming or trolling the site or the bloggers just curious. I have seen some other faux blogs and they are equally puzzling. They are either inside jokes or some kind of fan sites.

RE: This blog

Most of us here are participants because we like to discuss this case and all of its tendrils, and try and get more of a feel for the legal way things are done.

It is also a place to vent and is more focused than HuffPo, which covers a variety of alternative news topics and MSM topics (aka fluff).

It is also very convenient because explanations are provided on legal maneuvering and everything is centrally located.

We also seem to like each other - and many of us choose to believe that our legal system will still work and like all humans, we congregate with similar interest.

I still believe Jason L and W Madsen will be proven right.

Again, just because WE don't know doesn't mean the process isn't working. Unlike during the Watergate era, we now have an opportunity to come together and just talk about it.

Now for being "faux", if it truly IS a fake blog, WHY hasn't it been shut down? If I was PJF and someone was using my name and pics and disseminating general info and I didn't like it, I'd stop it.

So - who is running this blog? Whether PJF is truly personally involved - OR is his staff partially responsible? Who cares?

We're having fun (hey how many blogs have ON LINE BBQ's????) - we all share a common hope...

hasn't Bush divided all of us enough?

Remember the girls name in the Kobe Bryant case had her name sealed my the record to protect her from the public. Rove is indicted but the media can't legally publish it until the court unseals the record.

democratus:

I didn't call you a rotten troll either - your pointed questions are, of course, welcome.

Bear in mind of course, that again, most of us are here because we want to be - and no we don't have to justify anything to anyone.

So far, Cheney and Bush have not managed to completely pervert every part of our functional system. They may think they have a lock on the Supremes, but they don't have a lock on individual jury decisions. People tend to get very civic minded when they serve on a jury, particularly a federal grand jury. It brings out the "doing the absolute right thing" that is in most of us.

So we are all together here - waiting for some positive news - and I think we'll get it. Sure we may have to wait, but bear in mind, it's a lot worse for those who "dangle" than those who watch.

And it just gives Dick Cheney more time to harden into a giant pile of calcific plaque. The good news is that he will NEVER get to enjoy all the money he is stealing from our country - he's going to die first. He is permanently diseased and he knows it.

As for Bush, his ego is extremely important. He is known to have a nasty temper, he is a hothead - he lies, disseminates, and he undoubtedly does a fair amount of drugs and alcohol. In essence he's a loose cannon. And he's going to be judged harshly in historic retrospectives, a fact that will make him even more insane than he already is. He will die a nasty, lonely man with no friends and no loyalty. When his power goes, he goes....he is no longer useful to his handlers.

The rest are tiny little footnotes in our history.

That is why we are here. We are going to watch the end of the Bush Era. All are welcome, but if you don't want to participate, it's still a free country. Allow us our fun.

You still haven't provided us with any indication as why (if this blog is NOT with PJF's knowledge), either PJF or the DOJ hasn't shut it down?

We do not trust the MSM (as a lot of people are now seeing). Our news is sanitized and our MSM has decided to not actually "report" the news, but to become the story themselves.

I don't believe anyone on this blog believes George Bush and Dick Cheney deserve their offices. We're simply hanging out here, having a Sat nite BBQ, sharing stories about the good old days - and looking towards a brighter future.

So now I'd like to ask - why is it so important to YOU to rain on our picnic? What are we doing to YOU? I can tell you don't agree with us....so, why are you here?

Sorry, I'll hang here. There's too much at stake to trust CNN, and FauX News. They won't tell the truth anyway.

It is obvious that Fitzgerald's case has now moved from the origial charges of outing a CIA agent to trying to find if anyone lied and pursue perjury charges. This is not the ONLY blog that calls Bush a Chimp, Chimpy McFlightsuit, and other names that I won't even use. It is a gauge of the little respect and credibility these despots currently retain.

Our Administration is disrespected by 71% of the people. (We think they're polling the cemetaries and mental institutions for the 29% pro votes).

You are welcome to put your faith into the MSM. You are welcome to your own opinions. But by the same token, be aware that many of the blogs do NOT like or support George Bush. Again, we now can come together in cyberspace and support each other. We are NOT at the mercy of the FAUX news crop who are in bed with the WH and disseminating incorrect news and in fact, "NO" news at all.

It was amazing that none of the MSM ran the story when Delay resigned 2 weeks ago. The AP picked it up - my local paper BURIED it (I had to search to find it on page 10). To me, that was a HUGE story - but I have the misfortune to live in a red state. So I am not entitled to actual news I guess.

We were lied to, all of us - to start a war. This creature is killing our wives, husbands and children - because he wants to play "Battleship" with real blood.

He is a sick man, as is Cheney and Rummy. Many Americans now see this...and see him for "what" he is and is not. He's a JOKE. But he's a dangerous joke.

Do you not understand the GJ system? Do you not understand that the GJ is not on a timeframe? Do you not understand that a Prosecutor requests an indictment and a GJ votes on it? Do you not understand that if it is given, it is often SEALED?

Do you not understand that this GJ will respond in some way? Do you not understand that there WILL be an answer?

Do you not understand that an indictment is not a difficult thing to obtain?

Do you not understand that perjury and obstruction of justice are prosecutable offenses, no matter when they occur?

There WILL be a press conference. There will be either an Indictment or a No Bill.

But there WILL BE AN ANSWER. This GJ has sat for many months - it issued an Indictment for Libby (or will you dispute that). They are still in session (2 days a week) and undoubtedly there will be more to come down the road before they are through.

You are welcome to leave now...since you don't seem to understand that denying a legal process will not halt it. The Press Conference is incidental. The Indictment is what will count...and "who" gets them.

"dry drunks and substance abusers"...

to quote many many others that feel like you..

but..but..but Clinton.

This isn't about Clinton - it's about Bush, a known alcoholic and substance abuser. Most physicians recognize his behaviors...they see it every day in Trauma Rooms and ER's all over the country.

His brain is scrambled, his actions are "inappropriate", his head bobbing and incoherent speech are indicators of long term substance abuse. He giggles inappropriately and speaks with a fake accent. He jerks spasmodically and appears to space out when speaking. (Perhaps that is just Rove removing his hand???)

All of these behaviors are pretty obvious to medical professionals who see cheap drunks, crank and crackheads, and meth users on a daily basis.

I doubt he knows who he is. His brain is fried. His problem, not mine.

Cheney can't spend all of that money while in prison. And he is still on borrowed time. Cheney may appear strong. But there is probably somebody in the wind waiting for Cheney to crumble so that person can be bigger than Cheney's wealth and Halliburton.. all in the name of business!

In the news:

This is why the Gerbil is yearning for the bottle often:

Americans don't like President Bush personally much anymore, either

"Six public polls in recent weeks showed the opposite of Rove's account - that Bush's personal approval ratings have dropped since he was re-elected in 2004:
-A recent Gallup poll for USA Today showed that 39 percent had a favorable opinion of Bush, while 60 percent had an unfavorable opinion. In mid-November 2004, 60 percent had a favorable opinion and 39 percent unfavorable.
-Pollster John Zogby found 42 percent with a favorable opinion and 55 percent unfavorable. In November 2004, it was 58 percent favorable, 40 percent unfavorable.
-A poll for CBS and the New York Times showed that 29 percent had a favorable opinion of Bush, while 55 percent had an unfavorable opinion.
"The president's public perception problem is not only about his dismal job performance, but also his striking lack of personal favorability," said Democratic pollster Stan Greenberg.

Personal favorability can encompass many things in the minds of voters: character, respect, warmth, kinship, even whether a voter would want to have a beer with a politician. Or in the case of the teetotaling Bush, a soda.
Bush has lost ground on most of those measures.
Gallup, for example, found drops in the number of people who think that Bush is honest and trustworthy, that he shares their values and that he cares about people like them. "

Put me down for mustard potato salad and chocolate chip cookies.

I'm going to put my money on the probability that the cowards all flipped over on A- and A+. The naysayers don't must only read American papers. Of course they could be indicted by press clippings alone and much of the Libby discovery was just that.

Only thing is if Fitz thinks the coverup was the worst of the crime, he wouldn't be going far enough. There is plenty of press for far worse charges than obstruction or perjury.
Anyone posting here already knows that-I just wonder how much longer it can possibly be until they are allowed to do total and complete irrepairble harm to the US and who knows who else, until they are charged and stopped.
Maybe they are sweating-but nervous nellies do some really crazy unpredictable stuff. Anyone who has worked with criminals knows that.

Oddly enough, I like hearing that kind of finite news on the old devil.

SBP, great posts as usual. How do you think Jason will make out in the end?

Scooter is so grasping at straws when I read though the latest discovery request-why not just plea? Or did Fitz say no deal?

9:13 PM

As far as Jason, when Fitz makes his announcment of the indictment of Rove, many of the naysayer of the media owe Jason and Truthout.org an apology. Yes, Jason jumped the gun too soon but he story is the truth.. I emailed Jason that he will get apologies from the naysayers... And he will be recognize as the journalist eho broke the stpry about Rove's indictment. So, I am not worry about Jason.

As far as the little soldier, he was too confident (and thanks to his attorneys whispering in his ear) and he felt that he would get off on the charges... But, he wasn't smart enough to know that Fitz had more information that implicated the other key players in this case. Now, do I think Libby asked for a plea bargain in the beginning? No... Now, if Libby ask for a plea bargain now, the question is what can he bring to the table of evidence against Rove and Cheney??? I think it is too little too late for the little soldier. And I for one wouldn't give the little turd no deal! The little soldier better pandhandle help from the Gerbil...

There are a lot of numbers in the recent poll that would normally give me cause for joy -- the public hates everything about Bush. Only 13 percent think he's done a good job addressing rising gas prices.

If it was one on one--then the 2 demos combined might out poll him--but that is sad.

I checked around and it looks like May 28th is a protest day, the scheduled day is June 2nd, although it looks like it got pushed back to June 23rd.

This is out of Fitz's jurisdiction! The way to STOP something like that is if ALL of us contact our folks in Congress and tell THEM to stop it. The folks in Congress have an electronic contact system off the Web sites. Here:

House

It is very simple, IF the folks in Congress do not stop that, then quote Donald Trump in the November elections and tell them, "You're fired!"

A test of that magnitude will make other countries itch to play with big, dangerous toys. The environmental risks are not good, but what is worse is if India and Pakistan decide again that they need to test some nuclear weapons. Our folks in Congress need to be reminded of the itchy trigger fingers that India and Pakistan have.

What the heck was Rover doing with the Illinois Lake County GOP at a fundraiser? I know some of those folks and they are *so* getting a cleansing of that evil spirit.

Folks,

Hastert and Dead Eye Dick had some choice words. This is telling you a rift with the GOP and the Gerbil Administrstion:

May 18, 2006
Hastert Lets Cheney Have It
House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) "engaged in a high-decibel rant last week when he met with Vice President Dick Cheney," Robert Novak reports. "The speaker was enraged by the sacking of his friend and former colleague, Porter Goss."

"Hastert was so vituperative that a private session with President Bush in the living quarters of the White House was scheduled immediately."

"That wrath reflects the feeling in the House Republican cloakroom that Goss, who gave up a safe congressional seat from Florida for a thankless cleanup mission at the CIA, is being made a scapegoat for the government's intelligence mess. But Hastert's discontent goes beyond the CIA. The GOP mood on Capitol Hill, particularly the House, is poisonous."

http://politicalwire.com/archives/2006/05/18/hastert_lets_cheney_have_it.html

Poisonous is right.. Good thing, Cheney didn't mistake Hastert as a quail. What I want to know: did Hastert tell Cheney to go fu** himself???

I have read Christy's article from Firedoglake dated May 17,2006 about Libby. This excerpt will explain when grand jury meet. From Christy:

"Let me start today by saying that, yes, it is possible that the grand jury could meet with Patrick Fitzgerald today (meaning Wednesday May 17, 2006) because, as is true every Wednesday and Friday, the grand jury room is booked for the purposes of proceedings. It’s a regular grand jury, so they can meet with any US Attorney for proceedings in the district — they aren’t just reserved for Fitz."

And there you go! Christy should know. After all, she is an attorney and worked with Fitz.

Cheers!

Folks, more intersting news about the leak case and Armitage. Check this out!!!!

Ex-deputy secretary of state new figure in CIA leak probe

BY KENNETH R. BAZINET and JAMES GORDON MEEK
DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

WASHINGTON - Former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage has emerged as a key witness in the CIA leak probe, the Daily News has learned.
Armitage has been questioned several times, but is not expected to be indicted by the federal grand jury investigating who outed CIA spy Valerie Plame to journalists in 2003, sources said.
Armitage's testimony could hurt Vice President Cheney's indicted former chief aide Lewis (Scooter) Libby, or President Bush's political guru, Karl Rove.
Two sources familiar with the case said Armitage, Rove and Libby all had contacts with the press about Plame. Unlike Rove and Libby, Armitage appears to have tried to dissuade reporters from writing about her.
Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald recently had to sneak Armitage into a Washington courthouse to get past reporters - a sign of his value in the case, according to one source.
"Rich has been cooperating with Fitzgerald since day one," said another source, who has close ties to Armitage. "He was one of the first people to offer his testimony."
Armitage's office said he was was not available to comment.
Rove has testified five times as a subject of the grand jury probe.
Even if Rove escapes indictment, he could still be forced to resign for talking about Plame with a Time magazine reporter.
"People don't seem to want to talk about the possibility that Karl could be named an unindicted co-conspirator," a third source close to the case said. "Can an unindicted co-conspirator remain at the White House? Personally, I don't think so."

This program will not only be about rebuilding old nuclear weapons, it will also be about producing new nuclear warheads.

* The Department of Energy (DOE) was preparing to conduct a large scale, open-air, high explosive detonation on June 2nd (it is delayed until June 23). The explosion, named Divine Strake, will test what capabilities are needed to attack hardened underground targets. It will be conducted at the Nevada Test Site, which is located approximately 90 miles north of Las Vegas.
