Doctor, has your opinion of the GOP or President improved, declined or stayed the same? Be honest.

I am a registered Democrat and through all this my approval of BOTH parties has declined.

Anonymous, if I believed everything I read here or in the press I would be the most vocal in your camp. I tend to not put a lot stock in what I read in the Liberal leaning press. I also would prefer to wait until the facts are all in then let the legal system do its thing. The one thing that keeps me in the Bush camp is his handling of the War on Terror. I'm disappointed in him and most Republicans on border security and the way they are spending money. Would I trade Bush for Kerry or Gore? Not in your wildest dreams.

I have completely lost faith in the political system. I use to be a very hard core Repubican, but now I don't really consider myself much of a Republican, but I am labeling myself as a conservative.

Unfortunately, I am a political appointee in my state and I have to keep my feelings about Bush too myself.

Mr. Fitzgerald, should my governor doesn't win reelection in November, where in DOJ I could send my resume in DC? I am a paralegal with a designation as a Certified Workers Compensation Specialist.

I am not feeling good about the election coming up in the fall. Usually my female intuition doesn't fail me 95% of the time.

Polls are used only when there high if there low they mean nothing. Anyway who cares what the people think anyway. Bush said he would fire anyone who leak the name and now he saids it was him. Whats he going to do fire himself? Look Bush is the law and his base can break any law and he will pardon them. Now for the rest of Americans if you break the law you go to jail. I know the Rosenbergs wished they lived in these times and were friends of King George. That way they wouldn't be killed for leaking. I noticed you said more to come how much worse is it. Everyday more corruption comes to light. Are all the people with security clearences crooks and liars. Poor Dr. Death/Evil I mean is trying so hard to put some postive things during this mess. Oh Evil everything in Afgan is going as planned there are two Afgans. There side and ours just thought you'd want an up date not doctored by the government. The oil pipe line is going well.

Bushs' poll numbers will continue to plummet. His numbers will go lower than Nixon's when he resigned from office.
Those in denial, and you know who you are, this must be a big slap in the face!

Yes, I'm disappointed with Bush on the two things I mentioned, border security and out of control spending but there isn't anyone on the Democrat side that is going to do any better. So I'd say I'm screwed on those two things. The only Democrat I would consider voting for would be Lieberman.

12:30 PM
Blogger Anonymous said...

No matter how low his numbers go he will still be President until January of '09. We can either give him some support or simply be part of the problem and not the solution.

12:32 PM

Dr. Evil,

I like Sen Liberman as well. He is kind of on the conservative side. Bush has blown it for me when it comes to immigration and homeland security.

This Republican gal is going to stay home in 08 and not attend anymore fundraisers.

12:35 PM
Blogger Jackie said...

Liebermann isn't a Democrat he just uses that title for voting in favor of what the Bush Administration wants. Why do you think he got such a big hug from Bush? Take a look at Lieberman's voting record it speaks volumes of support for the GOP. I think he's doing a great job for the GOP while fooling the Dems.

Contessa, except for the worry that the Democrats would once again be in charge of the military and our National defense I might stay home too. After National Defense there really isn't much difference in the two parties. The Republicans have shown little backbone with the majority that people like myself worked so hard to give them. I can't say I blame you for sitting this next one out, but personally I don't want it said that I turned the Defense of this country over to someone like a Gore, Kerry or Hillary.

Support Bush or be part of the problem. Lets see stay on a sinking boat or get out and walk to safty? Keep following a person who is leading you to death or turn around go the other way and live. Well the American people have a choice. As for Republicans well I know some honest elected Republicans. We can't lable people not everyone just followed Bush down the path of corruption. Some Dems followed him others didn't. Maybe we should start judgeing people individually not based on their party? I guess thats called democarcy remember that was what we started this country with.

At a minimum, the filing indicates that the President and Vice President departed radically, and disturbingly, from long-set procedures with respect to classified documents - and that the Vice President, in particular, exceeded his declassification authority. And it may indicate that they, too, ought to be targets of the grand jury.

12:46 PM
Blogger Contessa37 said...

Well Jackie,

I respect Senator Liebermann for voting his conscience whether you question his motives or not.

At least he is not a rubber stamp for the liberal establishment of the Democratic party.

Just because I am a Republican it doesn't mean that I am not open to other candidates from the other side. I have voted for very conservative democrats before. There are some Republicans I would use my index finger on the voting screen for.

That is the problems with liberal Democrats they turn on their own if they don't agree with them. Democratic party's problem is that they don't like people who disagrees with them.

If I was a card carrying Democrat, I would never voted for Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Harry Reid and Steny Hoyer who is from my homestate.

I like conservative Democrats like Zell Miller. Unfortunately, he decided not to stay in the Senate who could blame him. He finally saw the light and saw what the liberals have done to his party.

Dr. Evil,

I assume you are a card carrying Republican like myself. You are absolutely correct there isn't much of a difference between Democrats and Republicans anymore.

The reason why I registered as a Republican is because of their supposively strong stance on defence issues, and tax cuts it create a stronger economy.

I remember growing up in the days of Duran Duran, big hair, parachute pants and Purple Rain, it was a better time in this country. My family made a lot of money in their business thanks to Reagan economic tax cuts.

Reagan was the Man. I bet he would turn in his grave if he saw how Bush handles the Iraq war. This will be our generation's Vietnam and Watergate all in one.

I am very prominent in my state's GOP circles and I have expressed my disdain for what is going on.

I told people in my circles that am I no longer going to support anyone monetarily because no stands up for the American people anymore.

They care about giving illegal aliens citizenship rights. My parents came here with nothing in their pockets no money, no car, no place to live and mum was pregnant with me when she came here from Italy.
Noone ever spoke Italian to them when they went to the supermarket, or gave them anything for free. That is pissing me off and getting my Italian ire smoking. My folks have to wait at least 15-20 years to become an American citizens. What make these illegals anymore special?

In my state, we have to provide interpretors to those who can't speak English. I work for a state government agency. It is the law. I have been vocal about this policy and I was told to shut up and put up with it.

THis is not a free country anymore!

Our democracy is what holes us together and makes us a great country. As I see it we're all in this together no matter what we think. I'm glad we don't dislike one another because we don't agree. I guess Fitz was right to let us expess how we feel and not judge each other.

Contessa, I do agree with most of what you said. I've been active in the party too with time and money. The reason that you have heard from Bush's father is because Daddy is trying to save his good name and reputation with his dynasty and business partners here and abroad. With his son's actions and scandals, this is not good for the father nor his son's legacy in the presidency. The Bush family holds honor, reputation, and legacy to the highest. And his son is not helping one bit. Notice the whole Bush family has been quiet!

I am torn on the immigration issues, since I live in Arizona and I think former fed would agree with me. We experience it more so here in AZ. We see 150 people living in one house without food, water, furniture, etc. They have only 2 bathrooms...they can't leave the house..the "coyotes" lock them in. These people are here trying to have a life better than what they had, and I am sure, Contessa, that is exactly why your parents came to America. Who are we, as Americans, to tell other people that they too, cannot enjoy a better life? They are coming into this country to work and they want to be citizens. Why not make them legal? I am sure the GOP sees the tax benefit.

And it look like Jeb is turning his back on Fitz' buddy Katherine Harris. From Americablog:

Jeb Bush publicly criticizes Katherine Harris' Senate race

"Republican Gov. Jeb Bush complained Thursday that Katherine Harris has made her struggling Senate campaign about herself instead of the record of the Democratic incumbent."

"I am the party leader. I've got concerns," the governor said in response to a reporter's question. "The campaign can't be about her. It has to be about Bill Nelson and the future of our state and so far, she asked my advice and I gave her that exact advice and it's gotten worse since."

Problems in paradise in Florida! No love between Jeb and Ms. Harris!

Susie Q, their is a reason they are called Illegal Aliens. They have broken the law. This whole blog is about putting law breakers in jail, but now we are going to decide which laws we want to enforce and which ones we are allowed to break. Which is it Susie, are we a nation of laws or is that just so much toilet paper to be use to wipe the butt of the majority in this country that want those laws enforced? Polls have a lot of weight on this blog, well polls say that the majority in this country want the borders protected and the "illegal" migration stopped.

It's nice to here suggest stories and know that families pass on thier roots and stuggles and know their family history. You sound proud as you should be.
As an older American I remember how my family came to the US just not the same as yours. But things got much better for my family in 1964. I wish my family had come to America like yours. I can't honestly say I know exactly were my family lived before coming to America. But your family had to wait 15-20 years to become American citizens my family has to wait 188 years to become equal citizens. We're all proud of our successful history of this great country.

I have nothing against the illegal immigrants, but many have to realize that the corporations, businesses, are just as guilty as they are.

Mr. Fitzgerald would probably agree with me and appreciate where I am coming from since his family immigrated here from the old country and worked very hard to have a better life here as my family has done.

So Mr. Fitzgerald, if you are going to read this I assume you will agree with me on this one.

The People are waking up and wresting their country back from aberrations calling themselves "patriots," who fraudulently display lapel pins that dishonor the meaning of our flag.

Their preemptive "war on terror" is still an overt anti-American act-still only an act of fascists, emperors, or premiers.

And this coup, this "war on terror" is just part of the PNAC scheme. Nothing more than the work of nationalist socialist grifters. It is a manefesto unsupported by logic and much more importantly, true Americans. It's designer (Fukiyama-sp) has recently made it clear the plan had no legs, that it failed the sniff test from the start.

The "war on terror" was an invention by pseudo intellectuals possessing a working pathology... a reckless grab-and-go mob op that threatens civilization on a global scale.

The evidence supporting the Plan's criminality is so overwhelming-both quantitatively and qualitatively- that the links for it would encircle the globe.

Anyone -A_N_Y_O_N_E- inclined to specifically support PNAC implementers at this point is as much an enemy of the people as Bush himself.

I'm truly fascinated by these aberrations who would take on the facade of patriotism to push what they know to be untrue.

They know it will not require a trial to force Bush out. And no matter how much self-flagellation the aberrations express today, the president's final act shall be his unvarnished admission of guilt.

Now, take those flags off your F__k__g chest.

We need to disinfect our system of all the corruption and lies from both parties

Being on Grand Jury in my county for the past four months has gotten me more bitter, and more cynical of our legal and political system.

There are two types of justice one for the big wigs and the other for the poor and the defenseless.

Immigration...last week I was hoping that we'd share some ideas and everybody's right.
They are here illegally.
It is breaking the law.
Their children, born here, are
American citizens.
If you work near or around them,
they are very hard workers.
Everyone wants a piece of the dream
How in the world do you round them
up to return to wherever?
Is it practical to even try?
Does it make more sense to attempt
to integrate them into our
society with a 10 or 11 year
How in the world do we protect our
borders, let alone our ports?

I live in Michigan. The Canadian border I can swim to (at least I used to be able to swim there). In
the winter when the River is frozen
we've actually had immigrants walking over, which is unbelievably risky.

It doesn't seem to me that there are easy answers. We are all immigrants. If I were poor and knew that if I took a really tough journey, even if it was illegal, would I try to improve my life and that of my children? I don't think
that's a toughie!
