DeLay's Job Description...

48 visits to golf clubs and resorts with lush fairways; 100 flights aboard company planes; 200 stays at hotels, many world-class; and 500 meals at restaurants, some averaging nearly $200 for a dinner for two.
This should be an inspiration to crooks, cheats and liars everywhere.

It comes so naturally to them that they really don't understand what all the fuss is about. They are wondering why everyone is so upset. I think it just goes on so much and is so pervasive that he feels like he's being singled out. More and more it seems that this graft and corruption is everyday normal to them. "If everyone's doing it then it can't be wrong" seems to be their thinking - or rather, I would bet that they don't even THINK about it. It's instinctual.

agree w/Bluewild ... its self-perpetuating, it is the competitive nature of 'the beast within' -->out-doing the last lobbyist trip, keeping up with Sen/Rep A, B and C .. and

it is also that
DAMN ARROGANCE

such as I deserve these gifts while I'm sacrificing time w/my family to do the business of the people.

yeah, sure ... an excuse to mess around on your wife, not pay attention to your family [this is the Christian right, correct?] play golf, have strippers entertain you, hang-out with your fast, wild-spending buddies ...

despicable. deplorable. . .

nail 'em all.

I was just readingone of the blog listings on your site that referenced Cloak and Dagger which I had never read. I don't know how to link it. And when I heard Bush talking about the legality of his spying, and this renenwal of The Patriot Act, I had a terrible thought that if it is not renewed and they charge him with spying....well what d'ya think will happen soon after the Patriot Act expires? Another attack? You know it sounds outrageous that I would even think that but with THESE thugs in office, I just think they will stop at nothing to get as much power as possible. I just think it is not byond them, and now it makes me wonder about all the questyions of 9/11....like why did Cheney order all the Air Patrol that could have stopped it, to have War Games so far away like in Iceland or some place, that there would be no way fpor them to respond...and why was the Bin Laden family able to fly out of the country when nobody else was? And why the hell haven't we GOT Bin Laden yet?

Nice to see you, PJF as well
as those clowns in the Administration and/or Congress in good company ... used to be at a very large telecom who took quite a financial beating because the company I worked for had some moral fiber to it ...

read on:
Bill Leone, U.S. Attorney for the District of Colorado, makes a point during a news conference on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, in Denver at which he announced that a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging Joseph Nacchio, former chief executive officer of Qwest Communications, with 42 counts of insider trading.

Forty two counts ... potentially 10 years..
Not enough I say to ruin an industry giant once worth

in excess of $80 BILLION ....

Did you work for MCI/WorldCom by any chance? I use to work for that god forsaken company for approximately two years as a legal admin assistant with as a contract employee on 19th and K Street while I was putting myself through paralegal school at UMUC. I quit working there in 2003 and got out of there very quickly once I was awarded my paralegal degree and found a position working as a workers comp specialist/paralegal for a state agency in my homestate. Boy, did I felt very blessed that day when I was offered that job!

Last night, I was told by a friend of mine that I use to work with at MCI that there are in the process of merging with Verizon. Many people that we both use to know and work with now are out of a job at MCI because of the impending merger.

It was a very stressful time indeed when I was there with Bernie Ebbers stealing the employees and company dry. I felt like I have aged very quickly when I was there. I saw and heard a lot of stuff going on there.
