With the evidence and testimony offered the Jurors did the only thing they could do was get the truth and the truth was there to find. Wells didn't defend his client only begged and cried for the jurors to spear him even with him being guilty. Yes with the heart working the jurors did feel sorry as Libby didn't have his boss come to explain what he sent his employee to do or explain how Libby is really a memory lost victim. Nothing was given to defend Libby and his friends never showed. Feeling sorry for a guilty person is normal but it does mean he can go free. Other leakers told the truth wrong as leaking is they told the truth only Libby lied for Cheney. What a poor example of Leadership Cheney is to let Libby go down for crimes Cheney committed. Yes Libby lied and is guilty but he was covering up bigger crimes done by his boss.
As the White House is firing honest lawyers at the DOJ don't look for the replacements to follow the Justice System.

The news featured as the third item on BBC1's 6 o'clock news. They showed a clip of Wells and Libby, but not Fitzgerald. On the far more in-depth Cahnnel 4 News at 7 pm, they showed the same clip and a short clip of Fitz speaking.

It's kind of surreal.

So far, my only source of information on this case has been this blogsite and one or two other media outlets I have been alerted to by this blogsite, such as FDL, or newsreports Fitz has posted.

Suddenly, the story makes it onto the much more familiar turf of UK TV.

It's gone from the coimputer screen in my second bedroom to the telly in my living room.

Thank you Jurors and Mr. Fitz.

I bet those jurors will become very informed now. They will know they made the right decision and most likely be horrified in their search for the truth. That is why Congress must continue Justice for the People. The People are never going to rest in searching for the truth.

A message from Joe and Valarie Wilson website:

March 6, 2007

Washington, DC – First, Valerie and Joseph Wilson would like to express their appreciation to Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald and the entire team of federal prosecutors for their professionalism and hard work. Their prosecution of a senior White House official illustrates that we are a nation of laws and that no man is above the law. The Wilsons respect the jury’s verdict and thank the jurors for their service. The entire Wilson team is pleased by today’s verdict and believes that justice has been served in this case.

The Wilsons will continue to pursue the civil case against Vice President Cheney, Mr. Libby, Mr. Rove and Mr. Armitage because it hinges on additional and different facts from those underlying the criminal case. The criminal trial was about whether or not Mr. Libby obstructed justice and committed perjury by lying to FBI agents and the grand jury about the fact that he had disclosed to reporters that Valerie Wilson worked for the CIA. The civil suit, on the other hand, hinges on whether or not the defendants violated the constitutional rights of Valerie and Joe Wilson by making those disclosures in a concerted effort to retaliate against Joe Wilson for revealing the falsity of the president’s rationale for the Iraq war.

Disturbing facts emerged from the criminal trial that are highly relevant to the civil case. For example, the American public learned details of how Vice President Cheney orchestrated the concerted White House effort to discredit and retaliate against Joe Wilson. Towards that end, the vice president enlisted the aid of other senior administration officials including former press secretary Ari Fleischer, vice presidential assistant Cathie Martin and presidential advisor Karl Rove. Testimony in the criminal case also confirmed that Mr. Libby spoke to numerous reporters in an effort to persuade at least one of them to publicly reveal Mrs. Wilson’s covert status.

Melanie Sloan, CREW’s executive director and counsel to the Wilsons stated, “The civil case may provide the American public with its only opportunity to hear directly from Vice President Cheney, Mr. Libby, Mr. Rove and Mr. Armitage about what really took place behind the scenes after Joe Wilson exposed the truth about the administration’s justification for the Iraq war.”

"Clearly Cheney understood immediately that this article could produce a cascading political crisis for the White House,'' Turley said of Joseph Wilson's original Times op-ed column. "The trial revealed a surprising level of both hysteria and hypocrisy in the White House.''

Mr. Fitzpatrick,
Nothing like prosecuting someone who is totally innocent.
You took that liar Joe Wilson's script, and ran with it. Valerie Plame, by the way, was nothing more than a glorified secretary.
And how nice to have a left wing liberal jury in Washington DC to "buy" into all of this total garbage. You know good and well Richard Armitage was the real "leaker". But, hey, you didn't let the facts get in YOUR way, did you.
You sir, really are a puppet to the left wingers, and especially the left wing Media. Your irrational hatred, and the media's hatred of our great President is what was driving this entire phoney prosecution.
Scooter Libby, did absolutely NOTHING wrong.
I hope you have many sleepless nights, because you know in your heart of hearts, your prosecution was a complete sham.
Joe Wilson should have been the one on trial. He is the biggest sleazy slime-ball.
Shame on you, and shame on all of the left wingers who will revel in this verdict.
I pray President Bush will pardon Scooter Libby...a good and decent man.
God Bless President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and Scooter Libby, (who probably knew his fate before the BIASED jurors ever came out. Those idiots couldn't WAIT to convict him.)
Shame, shame shame.

One really has to wonder why Libby chose not to defend himself and take the stand or why his good friend and former boss, Dick Cheney failed to testify on his behalf. It is odd that Libby's massive team of lawyers seemed to say this would happen in the opening statements of the trial.

Isn't it odd how President Bush said he wanted to know who leaked a CIA agent's name then failed the American people once again?

Mr. Fitzgerald,

Today you didn't serve justice...a good man has been shown as the fall guy and his former boss Cheney screwed him over. You really should have gone after Richard Armatage and Cheney. It was reported that you knew all along that you knew Armatage was the leaker. You are the stereotypical prosecutor-suffering from tunnel vision. Your best friend didn't do our country any justice by appointing you special prosecutor. You have really wasted our taxpayers dollars by dragging this case too long. I really hope that President Bush pardons him if Mr. Libby doesn't get his appeal.

Sir, you have been a prosecutor way too long and it is time for you to start getting into the 'real world.' I guess you time is up as US Attorney for Chicago. Bush is cleaning house at DOJ and you are next. I am sure that you could get a nice cushey blue chip Chicago law firm job.

9:50 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Anon, Oh shut up- You know, I have had it with your kind. You may say this or that about Pat Fitzgerald, but you would be wrong. The law is the law-he did not make the law-nor did the other lawyers involved in this case. You are the stereotypical prosecutor-suffering from tunnel vision.
Tunnel vision? I'm not a lawyer and
I don't have tunnel vision-but I do have an education and a passion to find out the truth.

If you had so much as bothered to verify anything your illegitimate president had told you in the lead up to this war, you would know not only is Scooter Libby guiltier than homemade sin-so is every cohort around him in that White House.

Get over your own partisanship problem, and start getting concerned about the state of this country, our military forces and your vote. If you bothered to do any of those things, you would be celebrating that justice won today along with the rest of us. We live in reality-you might try it sometime.

BTW< I'm sure Fitz could get a cushy blue chip job-he's make a lot more money-but people who work in public service do it because they love their country and want it to live up to its promise. Why don't you?
