Grade A Blogging...

A Review of the Plame Coverage

"I've decided that I'm going to do a periodical review (maybe weekly, but I'm not promising) of the coverage of the Libby trial, to point readers to good coverage while calling out those who have been spun badly. I'll focus primarily on print/online, since I don't watch much teevee (though if someone sends me a link, I'll try to include it)."

Fail - Scott Shane, NYT

"Say, wasn't there a time, not so long ago, that the NYT believed that fellatio was an impeachable offense? Because now, you see, they seem to think it's worthy of publication. I can't think of any other description of Shane's latest than a big drooly blow job to Scooter Libby." <much more>

"Republican National Committee Chairman George Bush has re-opened an investigation into allegations that a paid official of the GOP taught political espionage and "dirty tricks" during weekend seminars for College Republicans during 1971 and 1972. Some of the 1972 seminars were held after the Watergate break-in. Bush said he will urge a GOP investigating committee to "get to the bottom" of charges against Karl C. Rove, 32, who was executive director of the College Republican National Committee."

Do you still think Scooter was helping the anti-war protestors and Black Panther's?

In a nutshell:

The defense team are having a tough time trying to find an impartial jury that favors the Veep. Here is one comment:

"There is nothing they could say or do that would make me think anything positive about them," the woman said moments before she was excused from the jury pool by U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton.

Good luck, Scooter!

The New York Times is really the headlines in this Libby case. They let Miller do her thing and they are now the news paper you can't trust. For any journalist to say they don't know why Libby is on trial only means their paid to spin the truth. NYTs tried to recover from the damage Miller did now it'll start all over again. It's all about the money NYTs will lose.
I say open up the jury pool to the entire United States if they want to find 12 of those 20% who believe the lies.

Interesting that the young people seem to be so much more aware of politics these days...

My sons were telling me they watch Keith Olbermann with their friends and they think K.O. is the best news guy on TV... :)

They said, "that guy hammers Bush and he tells the truth!"

then they asked me..

"Hey Mom, have you ever heard of Crooks and Liars?"

I had to laugh and told them I sure have and visit their website frequently!

good videos. The K.O one really showed Bush's true colors. Funny how he can flipflop and still win, but Kerry couldn't. Double standard?

Final Posting:

HardBalls with Tweety "Potty Mouth" Matthews:

He was “against this bullshit war from the very beginning.” Tonight, Hardball host Chris Matthews argued, “If you want America to be a hegemonic power in the Middle East, you’re out of step with the American people. We’re not going to fight it out with Iran for the next 30 years to see who the big shit — I’m sorry — the big name is on the block.”

On Imus, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews blasted the media for not covering the Iraq war. Matthews said that while people are still fighting and dying the Iraq, war “has been taken off television, and Bush must love it.”

Matthews said that most of the media was sold a bill of goods by the Bush administration, but that he’s been “a voice out there against this bullshit war from the beginning.” He added that Cheney was “totally wrong” about Iraq but still “talks like God on television, and we are supposed to believe every word.”

Good luck Fitz on day three at the court.

Good Night! Biloximan out!

Tweety's trying to save his job. He'll say anything now as his friends are going down. I can't wait to hear Fitz question him on the witness stand. I hope Tweety has an accident in his pants.
