Well all the talk about the Study Group and their recommendation is all over. Bush never asked any questions during the meeting. Bush as announced that he will not talk to Iran/Syria unless they do as he ordered. Lieberman is forming another committee to stall any withdrawal of our troops and keep the money flowing. Other GOP members are in line to continue the forming of think committees are each one is finished this way nothing will change and Bush can stay the course. Cheney was summoned by the Saudi King just to make sure the plan will continue. Bush doesn't care how many military men/women lose their lives it's not about them it's about control of the Middle East oil. The Saudi's are fueling the flames of the Iraq conflict by supporting the Sunnis. As long as their is conflict no ones watching the money and the profiteers can collect taxpayers money while doing nothing for it.

It sounds like the Iraq report is saying to begin troop withdrawal in 2008, but to keep forces over there in an "open-ended" commitment. Does anybody remember John Kerry asking Bush, in the 2004 debates about permanent bases that, at the time were being built in Iraq? I remember because Kerry had gone over there to Iraq. And Bush skirted the question in the debate and it never came back up.I knew the answer anyway.It makes me question this commitee's report a little. I think this is already beyond repair anyway. Why do our children have to continue to die?

Dear Elected Official,
As a native Coloradoan and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.
My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stem from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.
Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.
Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year. Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications, as well as "in-state" tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.
Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car.
If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

The latest AP-Ipsos poll, taken as a bipartisan commission was releasing its recommendations for a new course in Iraq, found that just 27 percent of Americans approved of Bush's handling of Iraq, down from his previous low of 31 percent in November.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Outgoing Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld is asking a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit that would hold him personally responsible for allegations of torture in oversees military prisons.
The lawsuit, filed by two civil rights groups, describes the imprisonment of nine foreigners detained in Iraq and Afghanistan. The lawsuit contends the men were beaten, suspended upside down from the ceiling by chains, urinated on, shocked, sexually humiliated, burned, locked inside boxes and subjected to mock executions.
President Bush has called the abuse of prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq the biggest mistake of the war.
Attorneys for the American Civil Liberties Union and Human Rights First say Rumsfeld and top military officials authorized such abuses and should be held liable in federal court.
The Justice Department argues that Rumsfeld cannot be sued. Government officials are generally immune from lawsuits related to their jobs unless they violate a constitutional right.
A hearing before U.S. District Judge Thomas F. Hogan, set for Friday, will focus on whether Rumsfeld has official immunity. Rumsfeld, who has announced his resignation and will be replaced this month by Robert Gates, is not expected to attend.
The civil rights groups say Rumsfeld violated the prisoners' right of due process and to be free of cruel and unusual punishment. The government argues that foreigners held outside the United States do not have constitutional rights.
If the court lets the lawsuit continue, the Justice Department said, it would allow prisoners around the world to use U.S. courts to disrupt military operations.
"Subjecting military leaders to such personal tort liability could distract them from their duties, and the specter of captured aliens harassing military personnel with time-consuming individual capacity litigation could cause grave damage to military morale," the government wrote in briefs filed with the court.

According to the PBS special about Abramoff, Brownback did willingly takes campaign contributions from Abramoff. So, yes, he knew of Abramoff connection. I will look for the link for the PBS show of Abramoff. But, it will open your eyes to the corruption around Abramoff and the Gerbil. BTW, Abramoff did visit the WH more than over 400 times. So, there is a lot more to the story than what the Gerbil is claiming that he didn't know Jack. Jack practically ran that WH like a scam business.

Well, it looks like the Iraq Study Group isn't making much of a splash in the Middle East. Iran and Syria are giving it no more than a ho hum, while Israel just plain disagrees with it.

A reporter representing himself has convinced a federal court to push the Bush adminsitration to release sensitive documents, according to the non-profit advocacy group, Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press (RCFP).
New York Sun reporter Josh Gerstein filed Freedom of Information Act requests back in March with a number of federal agencies, asking for information on how the administration was going after the leakers who shared with reporters information on the NSA wiretapping program and other sensitive operations. Needless to say, the bureaucracy has dragged its feet. So Gerstein gathered his papers and headed to court. And in this first round, anyway, he's won.
Gerstein is a guy we've had our eye on for some time. Readers may recall that Gerstein scooped the majors with the story that according to Scooter Libby, President Bush himself approved Libby's pre-war intelligence leaks to the New York Times. He got that "exclusive" by reading publicly-available documents that other reporters overlooked.

I've heard about the little angel's Krispy Kreme dream, but I've never ate a Krispy Kreme. Yes we have them here in California but I just haven't gotten around to eating one. Now as for Fitz he is smart enough to find any and all Krispy Kreme shops. He most likely has already mapped out the blue print to all the shops in Illinois and surrounding states. Just as all on this blog and honest elected officials call for the smartest Prosecutor he's just as smart in nailing that notorious Krispy Kreme.

I’m not convinced that JMK did indeed murder JonBenet, tho’ I think he may know who did, and fled Colorado because he feared for his life.
I remember seeing a TV documentary on the case that exonerated the Reynolds and I remember thinking at the time how cold and unemotional they were about the whole thing.
What is clear is that this was not just a case of some child molester having his wicked way and then killing his one and only witness. The abuse JonBenet suffered took place over a protracted period of time and when she was killed, it was done deliberately and with aforethought.
The questions are: Who protected the abusers? What precipitated her murder? Why have her murderers not been brought to book?

I just want to tell everybody that when I lean left of center, that I will work for "We The People".
So..Starting on Jan. 1
I promise to:
Create a task force on global warming.
Create a government funded program to employ people who are out of work on alternative energy and conservation projects
To never lie.
Create a commitee to oversee lobbying activity, and make it a no money involved activity. Thats right...lobbying will basicly be handled like a charity. RE: Work toward making this an ownership society of small farms with water rights for organic crops and other such useful projects.
Reform the media. There is afterall a lot of information that could be on regular tv and radio.
Return free enterprise to the people. RE: if you would like to build an automobile that runs on hydrolics from a pollution free heat source without a transmission, differential, catylitic convertor, or air bags, that would be ok, even if it gets 200 mpg. And if you catch fish...You can sell them. Believe me, if we can be responsible for carrying our own health insurence, we can also be responsible for what we eat.
And...Many things that I'll be adding later.
You tell me...I am afterall your representative in government.
