Bully..!

Democrats Plan Series of Votes on Major Ethics Reforms

"Despite divisions among Democrats over how far to go in revising ethics rules, House leaders plan a major rollout of an ethics reform bill early next year to demonstrate concern about an issue that helped defeat the Republicans in the midterm elections.

But they will do it with a twist: Instead of forwarding one big bill, Democrats will put together an ethics package on the House floor piece by piece, allowing incoming freshmen to take charge of high-profile issues and lengthening the time spent on the debate. The approach will ensure that each proposal -- including banning gifts, meals and travel from lobbyists as well as imposing new controls on the budget deficit -- is debated on its own and receives its own vote. That should garner far more media attention for the bill's components before a final vote on the entire package." <more>

Dear Representatives of the People,
When you think the bill is tough enough, take it back to committee and make it even tougher!

Top of the morning all
Grandmanuk I pray by March our troops have left Iraq/Afghan so your grandson wont be in harms way. Peaches was finished her duty 9 months ago but the Gerbil wouldn't let her leave he put one 1/2 years on her deployment. That's why I loved Congressmen Rangals draft idea it would end the war quick. It's so hard to deal with as days are night and nights are days worrying.
As for Vietnam I lost half of my senior class in Vietnam and others were never the same when they came back. The draft was a nightmare and a curse. That's why I get made when I heard of Cheney's 5 deferments. The official policy said up to 3 deferments. When I listen to Bush say he doesn't know what he's going to do all I can think of is each day more of our troops die while he's thinking. Then I remember when the call came for Bush's unite to deploy he cowardly skipped out drunk and the rest of his unite put their lives on the line for the US. I did understand that you could get a deferment for college but at the time college was expensive and not everyone could afford to go. Those are dark days for the baby boomers.

Good Morning/Afternoon Everyone:

The 110th Congress certainly has their work cut out for them!! Mercy! I wasn't too nice with McCain yesterday! I told him it's time to admit the failures and bring our troops home! Also, the people are really fed up with this disaster that is costing lives and tons of money!

I know some folks are leaving today or tomorrow for Thanksgiving travels!

Please have a Happy & Safe Holiday!

Have an awesome day all!

One more quick thought..

If you really want this war to end start calling your Senators/Reps and tell them to end it! They work for us...not the other way around!

Hmmm..

Democrats Plan Series of Votes on Ethics Reforms

All I can say is get your officials distribution list to get the latest update of issues that your officials are working on. Follow up and follow through and stay on their asses. In the beginning of January 2007, that is the beginning of the public to start becoming a lot more concern on issues that they care about and hold them accountable. So, I get emails everyday from my officials and I do ask the tough questions that matters. Just because the Democrats got into the House and Senate doesn't mean they get a free pass in their jobs. I had emailed Ms. Pelosi before and after the election to not give one dime of a raise (including herself) to Congress come January. And I could give a rat's behind who was in Congress: Democratic, GOP, or whomever. They don't get a raise until they produce!!!

Now that’s a quote of the day.

He finally finished “My Pet Goat”, of course I’m talking about the Audio book.
