Washington Post Changes Boehner Quote on Foley
House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) told The Washington Post last night that he had learned this spring of some "contact" between Foley and a 16-year-old page. Boehner said he told House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.), and that Hastert assured him "we're taking care of it."

Look honest attorneys are hard to come by these days we're even looking for honest elected officials who wont molest our children.

If an incumbent might have drop out or be kicked out you want him to know so that he can line up someone to replace him. You at least want to keep him abreast of the situation if you think a problem might develop. I cannot see any innocent explanation for notifying the head of the NRCC while not information the full membership of the page board.

A top aide to presidential adviser Karl Rove passed along inside White House information to superlobbyist Jack Abramoff at a time when she was also accepting his tickets to nine sports and entertainment events, according to e-mails released yesterday in a bipartisan congressional report.
The e-mails, released by the House Government Reform Committee, show that Susan Ralston also on occasion discussed possible business ventures with Abramoff. Ralston had worked for Abramoff before joining Rove in the White House in 2001.
It will be fairly difficult for the White House to spin its way out of this story. Although Ralston was not particularly powerful in her own right, she did have the ear of one of the President's closest advisors. The fact that she was passing information to Jack Abramoff at the same time she was accepting free tickets to sporting events and other such gifts indicates a level of potential corruption thus far seen in the Republican Congress but not as clearly reported within the Bush administration.

Let's not forget the police officers and firefighters that sacrifice everyday in this country especially the ones who died in the 9/11 attack. They may not be overseas but they put their lives on the line everyday. Foley may be dominating the MSM because of the scandal. But, we have major issues in this country including the soldiers overseas in which the media have put on the back burner.

* Tom DeLay (R-Texas) resigned in disgrace and is facing a criminal trial.
* Bob Ney (R-Ohio) has already pleaded guilty to corruption charges and will leave Congress in disgrace.
* Mark Foley (R-Fla.) has resigned in disgrace and may face criminal charges of his own.
This is in one party this year!
In the Senate, Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) has been the subject of a criminal probe. In the states, Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher (R) was indicted and Ohio Gov. Bob Taft (R) has been convicted. In the executive branch, Scooter Libby (R) has been indicted, Claude Allen (R) has been convicted, David Safavian (R) has been convicted, and DHS spokesman Brian Doyle (R) pleaded guilty to cyber-sex charges and faces jail time.
And then, of course, there's many more Republicans facing investigations for other scandals, including the New Hampshire phone-jamming scandal, the Florida and Ohio vote rigging, the MZM scandal, and various friends of Jack Abramoff.
Of course, the Democrats aren't saint either. We can't forget Dollar Bill Jefferson. But, the GOP has really polluted their own reputation and has been an embarrassment for all of us. And yes, it is a matter of time.

Foley Waited until Program's End to Email Pages
Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL) waited until pages had left the House Page Program before striking up correspondence with them, according to a former page who was in the program from 2001 to 2002. Matthew Loraditch, who now heads up the alumni association for former congressional pages, said that three of his fellow pages were contacted by Foley only after they'd gone home for the summer.
Loraditch's friends began receiving messages in July, 2002, he said. "The first few were kind of normal," he said, similar to the emails reported on Thursday. The program had ended in the first week of June, and Foley had given his email address to a number of pages then.
Loraditch said that his three friends were the only other pages he had direct knowledge of who'd been contacted by Foley, "but in a situation like this," he said, "where there's three, there's more."

There should always be one justice department that follows the law and justice system with a deep appreciation. With the Gerbil in charge with this country, he has divided this country in every aspect of the way. We all have to be patient with Fitz as well as other attorneys to their jobs. Rove's free pass card will be terminated real soon. I am glad you still have the faith in Fitz and his work!

What legal punishments are being dealt to Catholic Church leaders who knew their priests were involved with with little boys? Are they being arrested?
