Scooter & Shooter - Testimony Dysfunction...

Libby To Rest Without Calling Cheney or Libby

Libby Live: Legal Arguments and Wintery Mix On Witness Parade

This trial is all about truth, justice and the American way - it was widely expected that Libby's and Cheney's (practicing thespians) testimony would only further expose their lies, injustices and anti-American behavior, therefore they are choosing not to take the stand.

Ted Wells is no fool, he only has one as a client.
Closing arguments expected no later than next Tuesday. Bully!

That says it all doesn't it?

The defense rests tomorrow already.

Gee, that was quick.

Americans are on pins and needles waiting to see what happens.....

From the truthout article posted by Patriot Girl or Prissy Patriot (sorry, can't remember -- previous thread):

"A federal judge has ruled that a CIA agent identified only as "Doe," allegedly fired after he gathered prewar intelligence showing that Iraq was not developing weapons of mass destruction, can proceed with his lawsuit against the CIA. The judge has ordered both parties to submit discovery requests-evidence they want for their case-to be completed by March 15, according to the CIA agent's lawyer and a spokesman for the Justice Department, which is defending the CIA in court."

Wow.

Everybody take notice of this.

more from the truthout article:

U.S. District Judge Gladys Kessler issued her ruling after what Doe's attorney, Roy Krieger, described as an extraordinary, secret status conference by telephone this afternoon that lasted nearly a half an hour.

>>> So concerned was the CIA about the agent's identity becoming public that the Justice Department prevailed upon the judge to issue a highly restrictive order regarding press contacts by the agent and Krieger. The order barred them from "requesting, allowing, encouraging, or directing" any members of the media from appearing at Krieger's office or even within a two-block vicinity of the building where he works or of any other location of the status conference, until two hours after the conference was completed. <<<

Did you HEAR that, people?

3:18 PM
Blogger Stephanie said...

WHY is the CIA so concerned about keeping this agent's identity a secret?

WHY might they want him NOT to be
nationally known (like, for instance, Anna Nicole Smith)?

Why? Just spell Anna backward and see what you come with.

Closing arguments are expected on Tuesday of next week! Wow, this case was really short!

I have to be really honest. Defense will not a chance on getting their client off. Without the testimonies of Cheney to bakc up Libby's story that he was a busy man and Karl Rove in which Wells claimed that Libby was an scapegoat to, Libby is hosed. And my question to Libby is why did he waste the taxpayers' money, the government's time and energy on a dead horse and bullcrap defense. Yes,I know... to CYA your boss and the WH. Fitz, I hope you go for suspended the gnume's law license for 5 years.

Fitz,

You certainly had Irve by the cojones from beginning to end in this trial. All the high price attorneys couldm't help Libby in his case. It just common sense to know that Scooter from day one was hosed!

In other news:

Another one bites the dust:

The San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that Kyle "Dusty" Foggo and Brent Wilkes have been indicted:
A federal grand jury on Tuesday issued indictments against Poway defense contractor Brent Wilkes and former high-ranking CIA official Kyle “Dusty” Foggo, childhood friends from San Diego who are entangled in the Randy “Duke” Cunningham congressional corruption scandal.
The U.S. Attorney will be holding a press conference shortly. We'll update as more info. becomes available.

I need to find out what the U.S. Attonrney said about these two nimrod. And it is about time!

And:

According to Novak, Boehner exonerated Reps. Lewis and Miller

So, Boner boy gave Miller and Lewis, who are connected with Duke Cunningham, a get out of jail free card.

Well, FIVE DEFERMENTS = A COWARD!

Congratulations to U.S. Attorney Carol Lam for bringing Foggo and Wilkes to justice. It is too bad that you were one of the 11 attorneys ousted from your job from Gonzo. Your work is always appreciated. Cheers!

Tuesday closing, that is a quick trial...but despite my razzing of Wells, I'd want him to defend me if I was innocent.

And really, what did Libby think, being a lawyer himself-did he think anyone could put together for him?

Wells, Jeffress and the media on the spinning of Cheney testifying for Libby -- come on.. just another courtroom stunt.

From following the trial on FDL it would really appear that Walton was bending way over backwards to accommodate the seemingly assinine jockeying for certain docs/testimony NOT evidence to be entered in to shape the jury's perspective and view of their client.

Why would Walton do that when we all expect an appeal to be filed?
When the smarmy piece of crap is annihilated/sentenced we all know Chimpy will come out and pardon him..

For those like Tennessee Senator Thompson to say that PJF and team were out of bounds? ABSOLUTE buffonery-

a complete moral disgrace the whole lot of 'em...

will be watching to see what happens with the jury as I would fully anticipate Wells, Jeffress, Cheney et al to corrupt the jury.. you know, like the crazy woman in Fatal Attraction..the bunny on the stove, stuff like that....

hoping each jury member has great security during and after the trial... I'm just sayin'

Zero rep

I'm back
Now I know Fitz might get mad but I think Wells did the smart move by resting his case. This trial have brought out so many criminal acts there will be more indictments. Now I like the questions by the jurors they are paying attention. The case rest with Pulitzer journalist who can't remember. A White House that planned an invasion with employees who can't remember. Loyality is the only rule as criminal acts continue. Libby and the Dickster are afraid of Fitzgerald. How can know if information about intelligence is right when the people working can't remember. Oh Libby did remember Tom Cruse visited and that's more important to remember then the 3000 plus dead soldiers and still dying.
Fitz is really good at chess I admit that. He made the case and the defense couldn't brake it down. Ex Senator Thompson might not get many jobs after supporting a criminal who let our troops die.

OK. Am I supposed to answer to Andrea Mitchell now? First, Brian Williams and now Andrea Mitchell. LOL! And I want to know who posted as Brian Williams? On a serious note, yes, I know that more people are taking care of aging parents. It is growing number in this country. It is sad. But that is mess from the Gerbil when he decided to take the taxpapers' money and give to Iraq and Afganistan and much of that money is either wasted or unaccountable. But, there are alot more problems that the media hasn't touched than just the rising number of people taking care of aging parents. My question is what are people going to do about their financial future? By the way, that segment has been taped for me.

7:13 PM

P.S. Watch for the amount of family members sharing a home because of the high price of purchasing homes or renting apartments. Look for that segment.

"SPB, it's twue, it's twue. Watch NBC tonight."

On a footnote: Brian Williams did a segment about the care of the elderly yesterday. I missed that segment. So, I watched it on podcast today. But, this problems has talked from an economist who had a semiar that I attended months ago about the finances and economy in this country and preparing for it. He laid out some statistics of the future that would make you hair in the back stick up. It is sad but it is reality check for all of us to dom something and not ignore it.

The sounds of Ireland,
that restless whispering
you never get away
from, seeping out of
low bushes and grass,
heatherbells and fern,
wrinkling bog pools,
scraping tree branches,
light hunting cloud,
sound hounding sight,
a hand ceaselessly
combing and stroking
the landscape, till
the valley gleams
like the pile upon
a mountain pony’s coat.

Cheney knows he is no match for the prosecution, so he ran away as fast as possible from testifying....

Patrick Fitzgerald is the heart and soul of this nation.

He has done more to clean up corruption than well, can't even remember a name right now!

Patrick Fitzgerald isn't alone...He leads the pack with the most dignified prosecutors from Sean Berkowitz, to Marshall Jarrett, Andrew Lourie, Noel Hillman and the great Carol C Lam.

Too bad many of these attornies have been fired now. They served their country greatly, and now it is time, to send the world a message.

BLITZER: Do you have any idea where he is?

EIKENBERRY: The intelligence has gone cold on Osama bin Laden. We continue the search for bin Laden, obviously. The more important question, though, with the war against international terror is not about one individual.

End the charade. Deep six it, like Osama has been for so long.
