Fitz can't risk flying home to Chicago given the crazy weather. Here's hoping he's having a grand old time on the East Coast.

No Retreat on Iraq Stance, McCain Insists
In Iowa, Senator John McCain made clear that he might see an advantage in presenting himself to the first Republican voters in the presidential nominating process as an unapologetic advocate for the war in Iraq.

Yup, McCain is like the ole guy who is still fighting the war in his mind...poor fool

Murano didn't explain why the department's Food Safety and Inspection Service took nearly three months to stop the sale of the meat after tests in May and June showed it had E. coli bacteria, the lawmakers said. The Agriculture Department didn't issue a full recall until July 19.

"We made these requests because ConAgra, one of the largest meat producers in the United States, may have had evidence of positive E. coli 0157:H7 results as early as mid-April," lawmakers wrote. Murano also didn't elaborate on ConAgra's actions, they noted.

Geez, ConAgra seems to have a bit of a pattern.

anything new on mayor daley in the rye? I thought he stepped down, but I was shocked with the truth that he will run again. FYI he pays off the FBI.

Teak--The group in Iran responsible for the bombing has been around for a while. It's just that no media over here across the pond and over the desert really cared before.

For the best example of how bad the MSM has become, scroll down to check out today's offering from CNN, on body painting and the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

How is that *NEWS*?

Boo Bear--Daley is running campaign ads. The election is Feb. 27th. I haven't a clue if or who anyone is running against him, and I watch the Chicago news every day. I certainly bet Daley will be elected again.

I know, night owl. I thought someone was being snarky earlier about Britney and her hair. I guess not, looks like she was attention seeking because the cameras must have quit following her drunken antics. The "Insider" will have the exclusive first interview right after "E.T." and "Exxtra" have their first exclusive interviews. Probably from the same chair/location but different faux reporter. Oprah may be needed on this one. ;)

The "news" is getting desperate for fillers from distracting from the truth and real news. They used to run some of the hidden stores on late at night but now it is filler crap too.

Les Roberts: Iraq's death toll is far worse than our leaders admit
The US and Britain have triggered an episode more deadly than the Rwandan genocide.

Anyone that has read a bit, kept up on the war and has common sense knows lies have told about the death toll on both sides.

Known battles (along with the bogus distraction later leaked) were not reported in the death tallies. You can look at the dates, manner of deaths and location to see that.

"Behind the door of Army Spec. Jeremy Duncan's room, part of the wall is torn and hangs in the air, weighted down with black mold. When the wounded combat engineer stands in his shower and looks up, he can see the bathtub on the floor above through a rotted hole. The entire building, constructed between the world wars, often smells like greasy carry-out. Signs of neglect are everywhere: mouse droppings, belly-up cockroaches, stained carpets, cheap mattresses".....

"Disengaged clerks, unqualified platoon sergeants and overworked case managers fumble with simple needs: feeding soldiers' families who are close to poverty, replacing a uniform ripped off by medics in the desert sand or helping a brain-damaged soldier remember his next appointment."

Guess the war planners/ profiteers didn't give a whit when they were pre-planning the wars years in advance. They didn't care about the thousands of wounded.

Wonder what kind of health care Darth enjoys or the CEO of Lockheed Martin any other one of industrial military complexes' "VIP"?

RE: Why Britney shaved her head..

The employee told US Magazine that Spears was agitated when she arrived at the tattoo parlor and that when someone asked her why she shaved her head, Spears said, "I don't want anyone touching me. I'm tired of everybody touching me."

The woman said Spears "wasn't making sense at all" and that it seemed like she wasn't in a good place. She said Spears was "totally freaking out."

Since Britney checked into a rehab place for a day...I am guessing by her behavior she has a serious drug problem!

Experts: Iranian unit not arming Iraq militias

S.Q.

I don't know about you but when my kids were little like that, one didn't have the energy to go out like that. Eating a meal out with just adults was heaven and enough. Besides if you were working, the guilt of kids being at the babysitter while you worked plus missing them ...partying without panties was the last thing on the list-to-dos.

The mothers of these young girl/women need to act like just that not party, try to relive their own life through the life and wealth of their kids. Lohan's mother is a drama mama like that, ack.

Sorry if this has been posted already, but it is worth another read. Every reporter in this country should be ashamed.

"It's amazing what it's come down to. On the senate floor this afternoon, Sen. Sessions (R-AL), in arguing against the surge resolution, gave an entirely new rationale for the invasion of Iraq: We invaded Iraq to prevent Saddam Hussein from being able to say that he'd won the 1991 Gulf War." Jeff Sessions.

Someone tell that dumbass no one wins in war and there were lies in the first Gulf War too. Plus, horrible things done that never should have happened either. That Sessions sounds like he may need to retire or something.

Good Morning,

And good point re Brittany, Teak-though I imagine having a nanny to take care of the little ones gives her some extra party energy! lol

I think she just cracked-divorce, 2 little kids, and being in the limelight since 16. That's a lot for anyone. And being beautiful Brittany, yet you still can't get your man to behave? Might be rough for a little missy used to getting her way.

From Time:
"The United States is investing a great deal, most especially the lives of our men and women in uniform, and the American people want to see results and aren't prepared to wait forever to see those results," Condiskeeza Rice told reporters.

Condi's got some nerve, doesn't she?
Its not enough that scooter will go to jail for being a part of the lies-but its a good start!

Brittany has the maturity level of an early adolescent because that is when she was "forced" into adult responsibilities via work. She married someone based on the most childish decision process and wound up with someone equally immature. And now it's all catching up with her.

Given that the people who should be helping to straighten her out are also dependent upon her for money, it is unlikely they will step in and intervene. It's a shame all around.
