& Now 4 Something Completely Different...

Catchy headline, but a three ring circus thereafter.

Media On Trial in Libby Case
Led by the anti-Bush faction at NBC News, the mainstream media are trying to turn the trial of Lewis "Scooter" Libby, the former top aide to Vice President Dick Cheney, into another indictment of the administration's Iraq policy. But NBC's Tim Russert and other media personalities are the ones really on trial, having themselves been implicated in uncertain knowledge of a phony "scandal" about who knew what and when regarding Ambassador Joseph Wilson's CIA wife, Valerie Plame. You can bet the media will do their best to keep coverage of this trial away from how the Wilson/Plame controversy was completely mishandled by the press and how prominent journalists have memory problems about details in the case that make their own changing stories extremely questionable.

These journalists are being called as "witnesses" in the case when they could be on trial themselves, charged with the same faulty memory that put Libby in the dock. It is a travesty of justice that Libby is on trial when the overwhelming evidence shows that he was simply trying to rebut false claims about the administration's Iraq policy that were emanating from Wilson and his media allies and appearing in the press. <

Peel the layers away from Roger Aronoff and Cliff Kincaid, who wrote the article.

The trial is about Scooter's lies. The MSM is already starting to suffer the wrath of the American people, only to get worse.

Richard Mellon Scaife (born July 3, 1932, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), a U.S. billionaire and owner–publisher of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. He owns 7.2% of NewsMax Media. With $1.2 billion, Scaife, a principal heir to the Mellon banking, oil, and aluminum fortune, is No. 283 on the 2005 Forbes 400.

Scaife is particularly well known for his generous support of conservative public policy organizations over the past two decades. His generous support of the Heritage Foundation has been an important factor in Heritage's development of one of the most influential public policy research institutes in the United States. He also has supported other conservative organizations that have supported various conservative policy themes.

Scaife also helped fund the Arkansas Project which led to the impeachment of then-President Bill Clinton. He provides financial support for conservative and libertarian causes in the U.S., mostly through the private, nonprofit foundations he controls: the Sarah Scaife Foundation, Carthage Foundation, and Allegheny Foundation, and until 2001 the Scaife Family Foundation, now controlled by his daughter Jennie and son David

I cannot stand any of them. It is easier to look up the writer before you read the article anymore. Moonie is a Bush friend and crook kook.

Scaife is a piece of work. Since I do have memory problems and 'duh' a lot, the year 2000 seems familiar with ole Richard. I wish I had Mr. Fitz's brain so I could figure this crap out!

PS..I have had to deal with trying and trying to cancel AOL before, talk about crooks.

Sorry AOL, but you are still crooks and I'm not the only one with problems trying to cancel your service if it wouldn't work with our system. You make people jump through hoops for something they don't want and to stop taking our money. Predators.

I posted this on previous thread, but it was "the last post", so probably went unread.

(Dear nice, kindly, blog administrator, please indulge, as I would like answers to my questions):

I have been following the Libby trial in a desultory and superficial manner, but I’m not a lawyer and it’s happening thousands of miles away and I feel very much out of my depth.

However, a number of things occur to me, and I’d welcome any comments or further elucidation.

It seems to me almost irrelevant whether or not Fitzgerald “wins”.

If he wins and Runt in the Dock gets sent to jail, then justice will have been served in that one perjurer goes to jail for perjury.

But, if The Runt in the Dock gets sent to jail, and others who may have had equal, of not more responsibility, in the leak of Valerie Plame’s name, and who are more powerful in the Bush administration, e.g. The Brain and, indeed, Biggus Diccus himself, go free, then justice will not have been served.

If, in the course of this trial, evidence comes out to incriminate The Brain and Biggus Diccus, and they receive inditements, then justice will have been served whatever happens to The Runt in the Dock.

Lastly, it is my understanding that Wells is a Democrat.

Is it coincidental that Libby has chosen a Democrat to defend him? Did he realise he was being set up by the Republican administration and felt that his fate was safer in the hands of a Democrat, hostile to the Bush administration, than those of a Republican loyal to it?

anonymous, who makes up the PJF fan club, FDL? I've been embarrassed for a poster there, whom I shall not name, for wearing her obsession so prominently on her sleeve. And it is an obsession, not just fun. You would think her friends would have a little talk with her?

anonymous, people make personal comments about Fitzgerald on this site, but it's more light-hearted and affectionate. Not all that heavy breathing that goes on over there.

What Counsel has the Hooded Moon

What counsel has the hooded moon
Put in thy heart, my shyly sweet,
Of Love in ancient plenilune,
Glory and stars beneath his feet--
A sage that is but kith and kin
With the comedian Capuchin?

Believe me rather that am wise
In disregard of the divine,
A glory kindles in those eyes,
Trembles to starlight. Mine, O Mine!
No more be tears in moon or mist
For thee, sweet sentimentalist.

At FDL, it's apparent the soon-to-be-divorced Looseheadprop has the hotz 4 Fitz. A few months ago, she went ballistic when a poster mentioned seeing Fitz in Chicago when she "had been told by (her informant)" he was in Washington.

Fitz is adorable but these gals (and guys like Pach) need to grow up and calm down.
